The Hungry Obbit in Northumberland

An amazing experience. Robin is an outstanding host and the food was out of this world. We celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary here and it made a memorable occasion even more memorable. We spent time looking at all the animals, emu, highland cattle to name a few. The best time was in the Obbit house where we listened to great music and laughed all night. Excellent!

I think I just might have gone to heaven tonight.💕 We were greeted by our host and chef, Robin, telling us he was a bit distracted as one of his beautiful Highland Cows had just given birth on the field beside the hut, and another was about to give birth....the evening was at this point a winner. We all sat outside, in the fabulous rural surrounds, alongside a field with four entertaining and nosey emu's, a handful of llamas, I don't know how many Highland cows and calves, a smattering of geese and ducks, and some lovely goats. We had our starters outside, this was a most delicious cheese fondue, with loads of things to dip in, inc. cheese bread, pumpernickel bread, cranberry and pumpkin bread, gherkins, grapes, celery, apples, pickled onions, chilli tortillas.😋 Our main was served in the hut, all seated around a blazing fire, how could a night be better? Our host cooked all our steaks to order, some well done, medium, medium rare, rare and blue!! Everything was accompanied by a beautiful selection of roasted vegetables and a choice of potatoes, and his special steak sauce. 😋😋 Desert was a chocolate fondue with strawberry, pineapple, marshmallows, shortbread and biscoff biscuits to dip. We loved every single aspect of our experience at The Hungry Obbit; everything was relaxed and fun. I'd highly recommend this experience, it was unique and great fun 👍

What an amazing night this place is just stunning & doing this for the animals Robin rescues it was perfect When I booked up I told him I was gluten free I was the only one out of our party & robin catered for me getting me a whole gluten free loaf for just me !!!! I also had gf crisps as everyone else had regular crisps & he also explained what was in the meal all safe for me to eat it's the little touches like this for anyone who is celiac or has gluten allergies is such a relief I would definitely recommend the hungry obbit can't wait to re book & go back

First time up here after hearing glowing reviews and Robin delivered such a great night, he was happy to join in with conversations and be such a great funny host. All the food was immaculate and beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone !

such a cozy and cute location and atmosphere, food was incredible and the man was absolutely class making our food. made everyone feel welcome and laughed on with us the whole time. highly recommend

What a great night out. The food is cooked to perfection and more than enough to go round. Robin is a great host / chef and makes you feel right at home. A visit from Lizzie and Wendy made the evening. A friends night out is a must!

What an amazing night at Hungry Obbit last night!! Robin was a fantastic host, great chef and had some hilarious stories. He, and the animals were especially tolerant of our ridiculous song choices, lederhosen and ET (don't ask!!) .... all proceeds from evening go to support his animal sanctuary. One of best nights we've ever had. Be warned, Robin, we will be back soon ....

We had the best evening. Fabulous setting, (think ‘faraway land’ with special chalet). Robin is a fantastic host and cook. I did wonder how it would pan out but Robin is such a great professional and all round lovely person that he became one of ‘us’. There were 10 of us on our Christmas night out, the food was AMAZING. Delicious cheese fondue to start with gorgeous bread and pickles followed by the most incredible steaks cooked to your preference with lovely roasted vegetables and a chocolate heaven pudding. The whole experience was so fabulous we have booked again for later this year. Robin, we loved our evening so much and have not stopped talking about it to our customers. It was so chilled, personal and loads of fun. Everything was PERFECT…….Thank you so much 🙏❤️👏 xxx

Thankyou Robin. Amazing steaks.. sliced like butter. Cooked to own liking. Couldn't fault it. The fondues gorgeous too. An experience not to missed..very comfortable and chilled out. Perfect host. If you want something a bit different yet still casual..this is great. Will definitely be back!! Go hungry!!

Fantastic experience for the whole family, best fillet steak ever. Robin is a star and really gives everyone a 5 star experience. It was like being in a real life Dr Dolittle show with all the wonderful friendly animals
