We called in here after visiting Alnwick Castle. Very cosy and welcoming with outdoor seating area, useful if you have a dog. We got there just before noon so we had the lunch menu. There is a breakfast menu served till 11.30 which comprised the usual - bacon sandwich, egg sandwich etc. The lunch menu wasn’t huge but nobody would struggle finding something suitable. My wife went for the smashed avocado on brown toast which she really enjoyed. I chose the corned beef and potato pie. I think this was probably the best corned beef pie I’ve ever had. Will definitely have that again. Coffee was good too. Staff were friendly with a good sense of humour which I found out when I jokingly suggested the pie was from Costco. It wasn’t; it was homemade. Note - if you’re driving from Alnwick, the entrance is on the roundabout, not the little lane to the right just before the roundabout.

After a morning walking round a drizzly Alnwick, we in need of a cafe to have a cup of tea and a cake. All the cafes in Alnwick, were busy, so we decided to search for places nearby. We found this cafe and decided to try it, we were glad we did. The choice of cakes were good, and included a couple of gluten free options. We were so glad we found this place, and I would definitely recommend visiting this tearoom if in the Alnwick area.

In the Alnwick area looking for something for breakfast, spotted the sign and decided to give it a try. The bacon sandwich had plenty of nicely cooked bacon, the scrambled eggs on sourdough was plentyful and excellent quality, and the hot drinks topped everything off nicely. Friendly staff too.

One of our regular stops for lunch. All the bread and cakes are homemade. All the sandwiches are amazing, the cakes are to die for. All local ingredients are well prepared and presented. Prices are very reasonable, and I can guarantee that no one will be disappointed. Today, we had afternoon tea, which comprises of a round of sandwiches, a massive sausage roll, a scone with clotted cream, and jam. 3 mini deserts - a fresh raspberry cake, coffee tart, and lemon posset, which was delightful. Unlimited tea or coffee at a very reasonable £19.95. Don't think I'll be able to eat the rest of the day.

We were passing The Old Stables last Thursday and stopped for a bite to eat. We decided on the afternoon tea. We were totally blown away. The sandwiches were amazing and the mini Victoria Sponge was a favourite although it was very hard to choose. Definitely the best afternoon tea I’ve had, and a big shout out to their pastry chef. Service was also great, with a real friendly welcome, and recommendations on local sights. A brilliant atmosphere too. Perfect end to a great trip. Highly recommended.

Decided to visit as it’s such a small detour for anyone travelling on the A1. It was very busy but the kind staff managed to squeeze us in. Ordered a delicious homemade corned beef pie served with a fresh salad, coleslaw and crisps. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian frittata, followed by the best Victoria Sponge she has ever eaten. The local coffee was full of flavour and I easily managed two cups. Will definitely visit again.

Grumpy man, seemingly he makes the bread, so unwelcoming almost making us feel we should leave, infact we headed to the car, where a lovely pleasant member of staff camping rushing to catch us to apologise for his terrible attitude, saying it had been a hot busy day and he was tired. No excuse as far as we were concerned. Coffee and scones we purchased were very nice, but honestly not worth the hassle. We go elsewhere.

Visited twice now, the tearoom sits on its own out of Alnwick near one of the A1 junctions in an old farmhouse but is well worth the trip. Excellent choice of homemade cakes, scones etc including gluten free options. Could be worth booking as they don’t have too many tables and is obviously popular as it has been busy on both my visits with tables reserved (the first visit was out of season too). They also do quiches etc for lunch and afternoon teas but haven’t had chance to try these yet. Visited the Old Stables a number of times with friends for lunch and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the quiche & victoria sponge - fantastic! The hot chocolate is the best i have ever tasted! Service is also excellent. Also some nice gifts for sale. I would recommending booking if making a special trip, it does get very busy. The lemon meringue fudge is also delicious!

I popped in with a friend and her mother who are regular visitors - I now know why they go so often!!!! I have never tasted toasted tea cakes as delicious before. The bread is also amazing and so fresh. Baked at 3am every morning. All the cakes look delicious - especially the Victoria sponge. Not only fabulous food but the prices are so reasonable and the staff very friendly. There is also an assortment of gifts. If you haven't been you don't know what you are missing.

I went here yesterday on the recommendation of a friend and was so pleased I did!It just does basic sandwiches, soup, cakes etc, but everything is so lovely and tasty.I went with my sister and her 8 month old, and although there wasn't a high chair free when we got there, the lady moved us onto a side table and brought the high chair as soon as it was free.I had a cheese savoury sandwich, and i was just expecting something quite plain, but the flavour was amazing! I don't know how they managed to make it taste that nice! I was also tempted by a bit of cake to follow, and it was absolutely gorgeous too.I'll definitely be returning here, and recommending it to others. Lovely homemade food in a friendly atmosphere, and good value for money.

/I visited there with friends last Saturday(29/8/15) and was greeted by four ladies behind the counter. They quickly took & served our orders. All food is home made on the premises. The lemon drizzle cake, coffee cake, fruit/cheese scones were big and tasty and melted in your mouth. I am planning to return in the not too distant future.

The postal address had a Morpeth post town, even though it is close to Amble. Finding it with the aid of a satnav was essential. A lovely sunny day and the field out front was very busy. All sorts were there, a food concession was selling pizza. The beer was varied, but great. Just a pity i was driving, no carry out bright beer is available. Only in cans. Such a shame, would have loved to taken away some of their heavier beer approx 6% ABV Staff were friendly and the interior accommodation was good.

This place is a totally fantastic! Do not miss out on the 'Kipper in a Bun'. I wavered, and thought to maybe have a 'Banger in a Bun' although was so glad I went with the Kipper. Perfectly cooked Kippers, Lemon mayonnaise, in a soft white roll eaten on the beach was just divine. Wife's comments were 'That was Lush!'. Great friendly service and all locally sourced delicious produce. Even the coffee was from Holly Island! All in a free car park!
