Incredible fish and chips! Their regular fish and chips is larger than any large fish and chips iv ever had so you sill never leave hungry. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere, freshly cooked tasty food! Have returned on many occasions and will continue too. Keep up the great work guys!

Always tell when it's a good chippy, it's busy. Really helpful staff and friendly. Decent size portions, and was still hot when we got back to the cottage.

Best fish n chips we’ve ever had! We were visiting a house were renting in Allendale Town from the end of next month and needed some dinner on our way back to my sister’s house just over the border in Langholm. We were not disappointed. Lovely friendly chatty staff who cooked the most amazing fish just before they closed. VERY lucky this will be our local chippy soon 😀

As a regular curtomer this is the best F&C I have ever had the good fortune to live nearby. Never less than good, often excellent, and once in a while just perfect. It wins prizes too!

Wow wow wow…we visited this fantastic take away on a monday night and what a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in the staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. The food was amazing, fresh tasty and just great. Sitting in the car eating the fabulous food …my very fissy youngest son informed he would rate his tea 10/10 as there was nothing that could have been improved. Wish you weren’t so far away from us but we will be back one day probably very soon. Keep up the good work. Thanks again

The fish and chips were ok, until I found a 10 inch hair in the fish batter which spoilt it for me. Suggest they tighten up their hygiene procedures.

We ordered nine meals for collection. A mix of fish & chips, pizza and kebabs. The meat on the donner was a little dry (and the sauce were served separately so you could add them yourself which might have contributed to that - but at least you don't end up with a soggy mess). All in all, though, a pretty good selection!

I am working for a local company and staying in the town during the week. I have had the fish and chips twice now each time they have been great. Nice fish, light crispy batter. Chips done well. Be aware the portion is big so whilst they are not the cheapest actually you could feed two small adults with one portion. Friendly staff

What a gem of a chippy. The portions were massive and so tasty, fresh and hot. Just what you need after a day walking Hadrian's Wall. You won't be disappointed.

Yes the portions are huge ! Make sure you have a detailed knowledge of local football as you may be tested by Brett .All food is fresh and cooked to order by this family business.

Definitely the best chippy in the area. The fish is huge with a lovely crispy natter. Home made chips that are out of this world. Highly recommended.

Staying at a local caravan & camping site so checked the reviews for local Fish & Chips. Very good reviews so gave it a try on a Fri. Very busy, friendly & organised. The best Fish & Chips we have had in a long time. It was so good that we went back again on the Mon & ordered for friends also, just as good. We will definitely call again & highly recommend .

We had them deliver to our camp site and the fish & chips were hot and very very welcome after our drive down from Scotland. We were staying at the Herding Hill site where they deliver to, what could be better. The food I would say is as good as you get anywhere, mmmmm yummy.

Got the fish and chips here and they were very good just ordered but didnt specify what size so we ended up with the large,and they were large

The fish was beautifully cooked, very generous portion and brilliant white cod fillet that tasted delicious. The batter was the best I have experienced from a chippy in many years being lovely and crispy. The chips were sweet to taste. All cooked fresh to order rest assured you will be in for a treat. What a huge meal!! Takeaway : 3 x fish and chip take away, one with peas, one with curry and 1 x pie and chips. Only manage half mine, same for my wife. Excellent service, wonderful food, great people.

Huge fresh fish .. lovely chips... (very generous portions) the batter on the fish is different to what we get in North Yorkshire.. thicker .. but just as lovely.. very friendly staff.. great value for money.. only criticism that we could think of is that the mushy peas were a little watered down... but again tasted fine. We'd defiantly come again!

Its not often we eat with treats but we called in one saturday afternoon in the rain to warm up and had a packet of chips each with curry sauce and WOW they were lush! Proper covid savvy too!

These have to be hands down the best fish and chips I’ve had!! We had a family day trip to Haltwhistle (party of 7) and had heard great things about Oceans, we weren’t disappointed! The food was served quick and very fresh, portion sizes were huge. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be planning another trip for these fish and chips.

Whenever we pass Haltwhistle visiting Oceans is a must, it’s our favourite fish & chip shop. My daughter often asks to drive from our home (in Newcastle) just for their fish & chips. We visited today. I had a cheese patty & chips & my daughter had scampi & chips. I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it with the restrictions being in place, so we’ve not been this year until today. No one does cheese patty’s like them, we will definitely be back soon, I need an oceans fish fix as their fish is just as good!

Fantastic and efficient service which always delivers delicious food. Honestly it's one of the best fish and chips I've ever had! I've been there a few times and I'm never left hungry or disappointed. I highly recommend.

What a brilliant place - if I hadn't read the reviews on trip advisor I would have missed that it is not just a take away but a cafe too - when we asked if we could sit down we were shown into the room at the back - and our order was taken - we had the fish and chips with mushy peas and bread and butter and a drink deal - without the bread and butter thank goodness - the chips were brilliant - just the right softness - the fish batter was crisp and light and the fish inside was fresh and succulent - only problem was that there was enough for at least two people if not three (depending on how hungry they were!). We went again the next night because it was so delicious and had the kids portions.

The shop was well positioned near the edge of the village for our B&B accomodation. The fish was cooked to order on a Sunday evening. Very generous portion size and excellent quality

4 of us for their special menu, fish ( haddock, skinned),chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a mug of tea or coffee all for £9.95 a person. Everything was cooked fresh and the fish was large and meaty. Couldn't fault any of it, friendly staff and brilliant service. Good value for money.

Fabulous fish, chips and peas, sat in the little cafe at the back. Service was fantastic, friendly, efficient and food was soooooooo delicious (we had Haddock and it was enormous :). Highly recommend having a trip to Oceans Fish & Chip take-away or cafe :)

Was staying at hotel next door who recommended this shop. Not the greatest choice of fish but the large cod I had was probably the best I've ever had, large portion of chips too. There were tables in the back but I had takeaway.

This is a takeaway with a dining room at the back. The owners were friendly and welcoming. We ate in, and ordered the haddock special. They did well to find a plate large enough to accommodate the haddock, which was cooked to perfection. It was a struggle to finish the meal, but it was so good that we managed to!

My wife and I visited this Fish & Chips Take-away & Cafe back in November 2017 and this time we were accompanied by our Granddaughter.

Had supper Saturday and tonight..Friday. absolutely lovely food. Lovely welcome too. Excellent quality thank you. See you next time.

We were staying locally and were recommended by the Hotel staff to eat here. Delicious traditional fish & chips with mushy peas. Excellent value. We ate in the little cafe at the rear of the take away. Served by pleasant staff. Just what we needed after a long day's walk.

We don't often do fish and chips but having recently moved house we were in need of immediate sustenance! To say the fish was modest was an understatement...they were HUGE and loads of chips so one portion did 2 of us!!!!! All well cooked and very tasty, we will return

Driving home from Wooler, Northumberland we decided to stop off somewhere for lunch so consulted the SatNav and the nearest eating place was Oceans Fish & Chips. Did a quick Google search and found that it had great reviews so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. There is a little cafe at the back of the takeaway so that we were able to eat in. Massive portion sizes. My husband had fish and chips and the fish was enormous. I had pie and chips and it was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Good prices too.

Went in for some dinner with friends and got the biggest portion of fish I have ever seen from a take away it tasted amazing well cooked chips were lush and plenty of salt and vinegar I would defiantly recommend it

Had regular size white fish and chips. Didn't have to wait long for the fish to be cooked fresh. Big portions. Could put on as much salt and vinegar as I wanted. Staff helpful and friendly. Next time I might go for the small fish and chips though.

Bought to take out. The portions were generous and the fish tasted as though it was freshly caught. The batter was light and the good was not greasy - truly scrumptious

Great service orders taken for fish as you walk through the door, all fish is cooked to order so no dried out fish sitting in drain cupboard awaiting a customer. Fish enormous with lovely crisp & crunchy batter chips great as well. Portions size not go the faint hearted great value and customer service.

Really really good chippy. The fact that we were staying next door meant that we visited on more than one occasion. The chips were freshly made and dry and crisp on each occasion. There always seemed to be a queue so I’m obviously not alone in my opinion.

We dropped in to the center of Britain, Haltwhistle, for a quick meal after a day of exploring Hadrian's wall. Ocean's Fish & Chips was a pleasant surprise. It is primarily for take away, but for £1 more you can have your meal at a cozy seating area towards the back of the building. The portions were huge but more importantly delicious. We had the fresh Icelandic haddock and chips; probably the best that we've had in awhile. The oil must have been the perfect temperature as the batter on the fish was crispy and the haddock was flaky and savory. The store has other offerings on its menu that are just as tempting.
