Went to The Stable Yard for coffee in the morning and were greeted by a lovely dog (not sure if the owner’s?). Had a couple coffees and scones. All very nice, very cozy cafe! Will definitely come back

I get so used to food being disappointing that I almost don’t notice anymore. So when I get something absolutely delicious I feel it should be highlighted. Stopped here for lunch with friends today. Ordered a humble bacon, Brie and caramelised onion panini, that came with crisps and coleslaw. It was probably the best panini that I have ever eaten. Loads of creamy melted Brie, bacon that delivered its own punch and sweet caramelised onions. Absolutely delicious. The place itself is cosy, friendly and welcoming and the staff are very welcoming too. Thanks for a great lunch.

The stable yard is fabulouse everyone loved it and the food is delicious I would recommend the panini they were amazing and they also sell plants.

Came here by chance after cafe in Craster closed. Fab food, best panini I’ve ever had and great cakes. This will be my cafe of choice now as a frequent visitor to Craster, knocks spots off the one in the village.

One of the finest cafés in Northumberland. This hidden gem is wonderful. The food and drink quality is excellent, and the service superb. If you catch a sunny day, the outside area is a real sun trap, although it is lovely inside too.

Dropped in by chance for a coffee and a cake. Enjoyed the experience so much that we dropped in for a second time when returning. Fitted a lovely visit to Craster between the two. Tea and coffee great and the home baked cakes irresistible.

Fantastic place for lunch which we head to every time we’re in the area. Paninis are excellent as are the sausage rolls & sandwiches which are all freshly made. There’s always a good selection of cakes too, so we highly recommend a visit.

I had a delicious cake and a good coffee in this bright, cheerful, pretty little cafe . The outdoor seating area is particularly pleasant. Service is cheery and efficient and prices are reasonable. A good place to stop off en route to or from the coast.

My fiancée and I stumbled upon The Stable Yard on our way to Craster, and we're so happy that we did! The paninis and coffee were delicious and the location is wonderful, especially when sitting outside on the picnic benches on a lovely sunny day!

Very nice cafe. Stopped by at the end of the day for refreshment. Coffee was very good. Cake was good and thankfully not heavy. Limited car parking for customers only.

We dropped into this cafe for tea and cake and we can't fault it. Good service, great cakes, and bliss, decent tea. It's small, maybe 5 or six tables inside, necessary given the weather in March, but more outside for the summer. Recommended

What a lovely find. Home cooked paninis and delicious cakes. Prices reasonable for quality and quantity. Attractive courtyard and small interior. Courtyard very sheltered so we sat outside. Great that dogs are welcome. Service was excellent with two very pleasant waitresses. We will be back

About a mile outside of Craster this lovely cafe has a shop with local plants and produce. Dog friendly inside and out. On a nice day it's great to sit outside in the sheltered courtyard. Coffee and scones a delight.

Popped in at around 10:30am for coffee and cake with our children and dog. Wow the cakes here are so good! All homemade and delicious. Highly recommend. The sausage rolls looked epic too. Loved how beautifully presented everything was and the log burner in the corner. Very quick service and reasonable prices (just over £20 for 4 drinks and 5 cakes/scones).

Outstanding … super friendly and accommodating … food excellent. The menu is simple but the sandwich, cake and coffee were all excellent. Oh, and the coleslaw was crunchy, tasty. All in all, spot on!

I’ve been a couple of times in the last year - delicious cake, and a lovely outside area to sit.

Visited The Stable Yard on the last day of our holiday. I had received a gift voucher as a present. The cafe and garden area were charming and very pleasant. The food and drinks were delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. The staff were friendly and efficient. Hope to return when we holiday in Northumberland next year.

Lovely little place to visit, limited parking level access for cafe and toilets. Nice coffee cakes and a nice vibe very peaceful.

What an absolute gem! My partner and I popped in yesterday after a rather stressful morning. The lovely staff and customers with 2 young pups cheered us up instantly! The cakes and savoury delights were so tasty and beautifully presented. The gifts and homeware were of excellent quality and variety which led to an unexpected shopping spree! Unfortunately there were no plants for sale due to supply issues. If you want to go because you want plants only, best ring first. We have often driven past and said to each other we must go in next time we stay in Craster and finally we did. We will definitely make a detour even if we are not staying simply to enjoy all the Stable Yard has to offer. THANK YOU for a lovely welcoming experience.

Lovely little gem of a cafe. Blink and you might miss it as you gaze at the old Craster Towers archway. Always come here when I'm up but will have to come again this week as they were out of my favourite cheese scones!!

Lovely place with friendly staff and a large selection of cakes. Cakes and coffee both very good. Not many tables but gave a nice atmosphere as surrounded by plants and trees.

Called for lunch today. What a gorgeous place. The food was lovely & the service was fantastic. Will be calling here again in the next few days before our holiday ends. A lovely little gift shop too.

Delicious sandwiches, friendly service, lovely setting

Lovely coffee and cake. All cakes are baked on the premises and you can tell... they taste fab. There is also a decent selection of plants to browse and select from. The courtyard setting makes for a lovely stop. Once winter comes, the woodburning stove inside will be sure to keep the chill off.

Fantastic place for a light lunch, the homemade sausage rolls are awesome, the sandwiches are fresh and such good value, and where else can you get a can of diet coke for 79p!! Staff are courteous and efficient a defo 10/10

A warm welcome from friendly staff; tea and panini in a secret garden! Pretty surroundings; relaxing and delicious time out. A peaceful escape to which I will return.

We fell upon this tea garden by accident and are so pleased we did. What a treasure of a find it is. We had paninis which were fresh and delicious with home made coleslaw and crisps and couldn’t resist returning for a sandwich and cake later in our holiday. It’s wonderful to find so much deliciousness in one place! The pretty stable yard is a real sheltered sun trap and on a cold day we found it warmed our cheeks in more ways than one. Everyone who visits Craster should make a stop here! In fact, if we lived nearer we’d be regular visitors. We loved it. In fact, we might have to call in on the way home!

We travel and cycle to many tea rooms/ cafes and this is our number one tea room in the UK. Firstly the location by Craster and Dunstanburgh castle is perfection. Then a well deserved stop for Kate's amazing food is just rewards. Her food is fresh,tasty and just delicious. kate is an exceptional baker and her cakes are mouthwatering. You can't get better than this heavenly tea room.

Such a charming place. Get the smoked salmon sandwich (very generous on the salmon 😍) and one of Kate's delicious homemade cakes.

Stumbled across this delightful place on long coastal walk... within five minutes of saying what we need now is a cup of good tea and a fine piece of cake did we find this extraordinary establishment hidden in the woods.... I think the tea fairies must have been listening!! Spend the time to go and find it... you will not be disappointed!

Came here for lunch after hearing lots of good things! We were not disappointed, great selection, great food and dog friendly. The cakes all looked amazing so had to take a slice away as couldn’t fit anything else in after lunch! Will definitely be back!

We were staying in a cottage nearby, whose owner recommended the Stable Yard.What a pleasant surprise. Really good cakes, and sausage rolls. A wood burning stove in the corner. Pottery from Norway in use in the cafe, and for sale.A good selection of gifts, including produce from the excellent Chain Bridge honey farm. To top it off, a small plant nursery with David Austin roses, herbaceous and bedding plants, compost pots, and to my partner’s delight, sheds!It’s tucked away, so you need to pay attention to find it.

We came across this fabulous cafe as it took dogs and another cafe owner signposted it to us. Wow what a find! It is a perfect place, wonderful food, cosy fire, and just a lovely calm space to be! We will back!

Called in with our 2 dogs who stretched out in front of the log burner, toasty and warm. We enjoyed generously filled rolls, smoked salmon and cream cheese and a Brie rocket and caramelised onion chutney, fresh scones and cream all washed down with a huge pot of tea. Great service and value for money thank you.

We luckily had a look on trip advisor after a visit to Newton by the sea and found The Stable Yard, so glad we came across it! What a little hidden gem. Off the beaten track, serving gorgeous coffee (my other half is fussy with coffee & was a big fan). We had a sandwich and a mug of homemade soup each, both lovely and fresh. Due to posts on here we also wanted to sample the sausage roll - yum, really good.We had our little girl with us and they had a Highchair for us to use.Friendly, lovely place.

As a ‘professional’ cyclist ( I only ride for coffee and cake) I can honestly say this is one of the best cafes in Northumberland. Don’t queue in Craster, get away from the hustle to this peaceful haven near Craster Tower. Well worth the 2 min drive or short walk to sample excellent quality, friendly service and great value for money.

Stopped here for a bite with my wife late one morning after a couple of hours walking from Craster to Low Newton and back. Scones and sausage rolls and tea that we had were delicious. The cheese scones are the best i have ever eaten ! Lovely hostess. We will be back when we are next up in beautiful Northumberland.

After a walk around Craster we found this place very close to Craster Tower, having previously read about it on Facebook. The soup and roll were fresh and tasty. Scrumptious scones/cake to follow. It was difficult to know which cake to choose as there was such a lovely selection. Good to see them covered, too. Tea arrived in a pot. A delightful place to stop off for a snack/light meal. Customer service was super without being obtrusive. There are also gifts and cards on sale as well as the garden centre outside. We'll be back and highly recommend.

This was a return visit to this lovely little cafe in its garden surroundings - we discovered it last year whilst on holiday nearby and were disappointed to find it closed on Monday, so made sure to return when it was open! Lovely fresh crab sandwiches, cheese scones and fruit scones, with plenty of butter - and a nice generous-sized pot of tea, all served in/on delightful cups and plates. We've sampled the cakes on previous occasions and can thoroughly recommend. Friendly and welcoming service. We sat outside under the awning and relaxed with views of butterflies alighting on the remaining flowers. All in all, a really lovely and enjoyable visit and we look forward to returning.

This was one of the best tea rooms I visited during my stay a Dunstan. The staff were helpful, chatty and the service was quick. The cheese scones are outstanding. Dog friendly which was a must for me, and they welcomed the dogs too which made a difference.

Stopped off here for a light bite on a recommendation. Tables were all taken indoors (only a select few) so we sat in the outdoor seating area. Great selection of cakes - Between 3 we ordered a Victoria sponge cake, a banana and chocolate cake and a millionaire shortbread - all delicious and good sized portions. We also tried the sausage rolls which were very tasty!

Amazing soup that just hit the spot!

Whilst on holiday in Craster, my teenage daughter and I took a walk to this cafe. We had a lovely piece of cake each. There is a good selection of teas available and some nice things for sale.

Called in for light lunch on recommendation ...very tasty freshly prepared sandwiches with garnish and delicious homemade sausage roll with built in apple sauce (yummy ) ...friendly service and quiet setting in nursery garden with good indoor and outdoor seating ..parking adequate for size of cafe ...all in all very tasty !

Charming small garden centre with fantastic cafe and shop, stocking a good selection of homemade cooked meals to takeaway and locally made gifts. There is a great range of rolls and delicious cakes, also dog friendly inside and out.

Although not well advertised, we stumbled upon this interesting tea-room/café/garden centre by chance. We were made welcome and treated to tea and cake in the sunny courtyard - a most calm place with roses and trees all around. Cakes were superb - so light and open. Proper tea in a pot too!

We visited this fab little place after coming across it on trip advisor. As soon as my wife saw the cakes on the website and the fact that it was dog friendly she knew it was for us!

We have been going to Kate's consistently now for well over a year and we absolutely love it. The homemade cakes are amazing and there is a lovely shop area with local produce and other lovely bits. There are also lovely sandwiches, soups, scones and sausage rolls which are excellent value. The plants outside are lovely and make for a peaceful setting. The courtyard is a sun trap and we have spent many afternoons there with our greyhound just enjoying great food and a lush setting. We love seeing Bobby the cafe spaniel too.

Just got back home from a lovely holiday and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our three visits to the stable yard tearoom at craster tower. We have visited on previous holidays so it was lovely to go back. Sitting in the sunshine within the peaceful setting is so relaxing and the food and coffee are delicious. It was nice to have bobby, the owners dog for company!! I highly recommend this place for quality and value for money. If you are in the area don"t miss it.

Visited The Stable Yard at lunchtime midweek. Its located a mile or so outside Craster next to the tower. There is car parking for around 8-10 cars. The Stable Yard is a very attractive setting with tables set in the courtyard while inside the cafe are further tables if the weather turns. When we visited the sun was shining so sitting outside in the courtyard was really nice. The cafe sells home made snacks including sandwiches, cakes, scones and sausage rolls plus local produce as well as coffee, teas and other soft drinks. Local suppliers appeared to be used extensively.
