Excellent Chinese takeaway, no dine in. Always freshly cooked and very tasty. Usually busy, so best to phone order in before required time. Free prawn crackers for orders over a certain amount. Definitely best Chinese take away in local area.

Matthew is a service to the place and brought great energy to our stop here. Was very refreshing to see. Loved it and would come back just to talk to this guy again lol

Cozy pub, bit high but lovely place.

Fantastic family friendly pub often with a bouncy castle in garden as well as a park and play area AND green space for football etc! Food always is nice quality and good value for money. Really good owners and efficient staff.

No longer a pub since 2021. The Lazy Otter Pub is however still famous in Cambridgeshire for its riverside location and for its bad meals and service. It was sold as it was making a loss due to serious mismanagement, awful quality food, staff that were not interested in delivering a decent service and who were totally untrained, its dirty and unhealthy facilities, and last but not least the lack of customers as a result of all the above and its unfortunate location. Access to the A10 was far too dangerous for pub goers and as a riverside pub the Lazy Otter failed as it only had two moorings, Restoring a bad reputation is one thing but increased traffic on the A10 cannot be controlled. The latter may be the reason why the pub is no longer a pub. On a beautiful summer's day, the Lazy Otter could, as a pub, have 150-200 people in the garden. Imagine these numbers trying to get onto the A10 T-junction. For safety reasons only, the Lazy Otter should never be a pub again.

Not the most beautiful pub going, but there’s a nice big seating area out the back which is great in the summer. Pretty decent prices

Good, interesting beer on hand pump and superb Thai cooking. Folk music and dancing from time to time. Pleasant garden to sit in when weather allows.

Nice place and location, next to river, to visit. Daughter had booked for an hour later than when we arrived but they were happy to let us in early, there were no others inside but quite a lot of people on the outside tables on this very warm day on a Saturday lunchtime. We were informed that they had just had quite a large party in and there were quite a few items now that were not available, this was disappointing but it did not dampening our day although the selection available was now limited. Once we ordered, we did expect a wait, after all we were early but there were only two other people come in, although it did look like a lot more people sat outside. Once the food did arrive, there was a longer than expected gap between first food arrival to the last person, to the point I said to the two youngsters with us, that they could start so food not to get cold. It wasn't an excessive wait but enough to cause a minor irritant to some of us. Food was tasty and plenty of it. We had drinks but non or low alcoholic ales were very limited, not sure if others are normally available but they weren't this day. After the meal we went outside. Overall, a pleasant place to visit with nice views of the river, easy to park, and staff friendly and pleasant.

Crispy crusts lots of toppings cheesy and perfecto. 10/10 customer service smiley and friendly staff Would recommended

The portion was generous and the fish was freshly fried with crispy batter - thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was very nice and polite as well. I will definitely visit again!

Had good & drink here on a Saturday afternoon. Welcoming comfortable atmosphere, quality food and good service. Slightly on the pricier side. A good place to have a meal in Ely.

Consistently excellent standards of service. The staff seem to WANT to be there and engage with the patrons. It's a relief to know ones parents are in good hands. The reasonable prices are a significant factor also. Please do not change. Thank you.

Where to begin, drinks order wrong, only one waiter seemed to know what was going on, she was holding the service together single handed. so called Manager appeared clueless. Bill issued incorrectly twice. Friends with food allergies were given the wrong food, which was luckily spotted before they ate.
