Called in on a sunny afternoon for a drink. £12.50 for a pint of Guinness and a pint of Aspalls. Most expensive drinks while we were in Ely. Shame the Aspalls was served in a plain pint glass and not a proper Aspalls glass. Seemed to have no fizz due to the glass....no bubbles seen. Stayed in Ely for the week but didn't go back.

Visited here over Easter so paid a premium for the privilege and was really disappointed with our meal. The service was absolutely appalling and the food was really poor. We were sat down promptly and then left for a good 15 minutes before being asked for our drinks order, followed by a further 15 minutes before we got the drinks served. The rest of the meal didn't go any better. We had to wait until instructed to go up to the carvery, even though there was no queue and the restaurant was mostly empty. The two waitresses on staff seemed completely disinterested in serving us, after we finished our meals our empty plates sat in front of us for a good 30 minutes and then we had to wait even longer after before making our desserts order. The Carvery itself was OK, although the red cabbage was bitter and like mush. The potatoes were somehow too sweet. The meat served was faultless, was a very good cut and portion size. The chef carving was also very nice. The desserts however were terrible. I had an exclusive Easter sundae which was served in a tiny glass with stale brownies inside and a few crumbs of chocolate on top and a measly portion of ice cream. The other members of my family had an Eton mess with no meringue in it and clearly frozen fruits with virtually no cream and the bread and butter pudding which was literally just a hot cross bun with tasteless custard on top. After waiting patiently for 20 minutes to ask for the bill and no servers in sight, i went to find our waitress and she was just sat having a chat with the kitchen staff. Unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. All of this and we paid £27 a head for 6 people. Leaving with a massive big bill for a very sub-par experience. We will not be returning anytime soon. If you want a carvery, go to Toby's. Its better quality for half the price.

Family curry night for 4. Booked online via their website. Warm welcome, clean & tidy restaurant and pleasant staff. Attentive but not overbearing, orders taken, drinks, poppadums etc. Excellent menu, good range with a few different dishes on there. All food was very good, tasty, well presented (table needed to be a bit bigger!) and good portion size. All in all, a great first time for us but certainly not the last. Would highly recommend.

On this occasion, the carvery meat was under cooked, as we're some of the veg. They had run out of Yorkshire pudding and gravy, but didn't say before we had chosen our food. We had to wait about 5 minutes and the food was getting cold. The manager did finally sort it and we got a discount, as it would of been very pricey for what we actually got. It's a shame, as when we came before, the food was lovely. Not sure what's happened but unsure if I would go back to eat. The location was lovely though for a drink 🙂

It is an absolute pleasure to visit a pub with well kept ales that are gravity served. If only more pubs would take the time to do this. There is also a selection of excellent sandwiches on tasty, fresh bread. The main courses were good. I recommend the Powters sausages.

We visited on a busy Sunday for a roast as we'd heard some good things. I have to say we were not disappointed! We did have a little wait for food but every table was full, and the food was well worth the wait. The waitresses were brilliant very polite and welcoming. The beef was beautifully cooked and a bargain at £19, especially for locally sourced beef. The Yorkshire pudding was huge 😆 If I had to offer some advice it would be the whole pub needing a spruce up with a lick of paint, I think once this is done it will make the world of difference. Will be back.

Popped in there the other day to grab a Doner meat, chips, and salad takeaway. Food was ready in less than 10 minutes and there was plenty of it too! Very friendly guy on the till who I assume is the owner, food was really nice too. Would definitely swing by again, would highly recommend!

We stopped at this pub while doing a circular walk around Stretham. The greeting from the lady behind the bar was perfect. Bring a Sunday it was only a choice of a roast or the basket meals. We sat in the garden at the back and had scampi and chips. The food was excellent and very hot. The service was perfect and attentive.
