Worst chips I've ever had. Disgusting. Over priced crap. Place looked clean. Polite staff. But definitely not good. Left grease in the mouth. Yuck!

Avoid, I was given soggy chips ans a reheated fish, disgusting. I think this is probably the worst fish and chips I ever had, Sad

One of the worst fish and chips I had in ages, the fish was actually burned.

Just a portion of chips. Turned out to be leftovers from the night before I think that got refried. Absolutely rank. Went back and got fresh but these weren’t much better as they tasted strongly of dirty oil

My first, and probably last, visit for fish and chips was disappointing, because the chios were undercooked - a long way from the claim to be the best in Ely! The fish was ok.

So rude! Me and my friends order 3 portions of chips and 1 coke and said that it was £25 pound we said we didn’t have that kind of money we will have to call some where else so they said 10 pounds then. They said they would be 5 minutes 30 minutes later we asked if they still have the order coming and we will probably cancel it they said it will be 2 minutes and they are very sorry. 50 minutes later we tried calling again but they ignored us . Do not recommend getting a delivery as well the service is very rude as well…

Always busy busy with a good bit of fish and plenty of it.

CHAOS! After I ordered a takeaway they kept asking what I had ordered. I asked for a battered sausage - when I got home it wasn't there. I ordered a shish and chicken kebab-no shish I asked for no onions-they added onions I asked for salt and vinegar on the chips - they didn't add any When your job is only to take a list of food and serve up that list of food and you can't manage even that, what are you doing in business?!!!

Should have a sign stating a miminum order amount. He doesn't like it if all you want is a bag of chips. I'll go down the road instead where they aren't rude to their customers.

Some very tasty chip shop food , particularly like the spicy potatoes, although now are very expensive here , £5 for 10 , staff are very friendly and service is fast .

Randomly spam calling me despite me never visiting the area or fish bar.

Portion size varies from week to week...when I mentioned the poor Portion size the guy serving me gave me the dirtiest of looks,snapped at me then begrudgingly dumped more in the bag,all the time he was eating while serving and spitting everywhere very rude staff so will not use any more

Came here with some mates and the guy behind the counter gave me and my friend tons of free chips with our chicken . They are great . Cheap and good quality

This is the best Fish and Chips in Ely. No other shop in Ely compairs to the quality of food in here. Excellent food and customer service. The BEST fish in Cambridgeshire by a long way.

Best fish and chips in ely and their kebab and curry sauce is to die for my favourite thing hands down the price for a chip shop is good in this cost of living crisis and its well worth the money for the tast and the couple that run it are the nicest people you will meet and he's not here to f#&% spiders he takes your order and gets you your food nice and quick and always manages to be polite and ask about how you are.

Pretty pricey and mediocre fish n chips. Hint* there is a better fish n chips place 2 mins walk from this one

The chips were clearly reheated as hard and they were with the fish in a box. We had asked for the chips to be seperate. Also not able to pay with a card which in this day and age is particularly odd.

Absolutely awful, worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fish dry and like rubber. And to make it worse they forgot some of our order. Definitely won’t be returning.

3rd attempt with this Fish & Chip shop and been awful on every occasion! Re heated rubbish every time, they could learn a lot from Rumbles in Sutton.

Excellent fish and chips, large portions in cardboard box and plastic forks not little wooden ones. Excellent choices fish, pies, burger, kebabs etc and lots of meal deals.

Looking forward to my takeaway chicken and mushroom pie and chips I was shocked when the pie, still in its cellophane, was stone cold probing at 6 degrees C. It obviously hadn't been near a heat source. Returning to the fishbar whilst the rest of the order got cold I was given another pie, this time cooked. On cutting it open it proved to be beef and onion. This is not the first time the order has been wrong and needless to say we will not be returning to Rumbles.

Great food and generous portions.

Rumbles offers a very large selection of things on their menu, but since they're called "Rumbles FISH Bar" I'm going to focus entirely on the fish. The fish you get from this place is flavourless mush. The chips aren't anything to write home about either, slightly soggy but edible at least. There are much better places to get your fish and chips from within minutes of this establishment. Again, if you're after something that isn't fish, such as kebabs, burgers, chicken etc. then I can't comment and you can make your own judgement. Just avoid the fish at all costs.

Incredibly large portions at a great price. Could do with more salt and vinegar on the chips though and make sure to ask for any sauces and a little wooden fork if wanted as they won't ask if you want it or just add. The mushy peas were watery but tasted very nice

Got my order and came back to 4 things missing. Go to try ring them and it’s constantly user busy! Just a waste of yime

You can't get a better bit of fish

Just got home from Rumbles to find 2 items of our order missing. This is 3rd time in row this has happened. Have to use this place as not much choice open in Ely. Very poor service.

Good quality food at a good price. Have tended in recent times to focus on fried foods such as fish and chips rather than kebab or burger.

I can't say about the other food but the fish are chip were awful! I was hoping they would be nice and crispy and nice fresh tasting cod but the fish tasted really old and leathery, like it had been sat out for hours and the whole thing tasted overwhelmingly of just cooking oil which made it not nice to eat. the fish was really thick and i don't think cooked right and i wish i had gone with my instinct and stopped eating it but i was hungry. By the time i got home, i felt very poorly and spent the night vomiting and with a upset tummy so can only assume that the fish had given me food poisoning. Not impressed and would not use again.

Pretty average. Well try Alan's next time.

We love Rumbles Fish Bar. They all offer a good quality meal. Access is not as easy as one would wish for if you were in a wheelchair. Parking is very restricted locally with a taxi rank outside the door and time limited on street parking . There is four or five disabled parking bays as well but this is a very busy road so parking is often unavailable. There is a large free car park that is ten mins walk away. The food is always fresh and hot. There is all the usual products available as well as chips Including chicken, kebabs and burgers. If you are a chip lover it is well worth a visit. There is limited seating if you wish to eat in house but there is no customer toilets.

You cannot beat a freshly made large chicken kebab. Friendly staff, and if you phone ahead they'll have it waiting for you. Thanks guys!

Use lard for their chips. Grim.

We got one large cod with chips for 8 pounds, and it was more than enough for two people. It was delicious- cooked perfectly and the “chips” (like American steak fries) were creamy and perfectly crunchy. Will definitely return- highly recommend for a delicious, economical takeaway meal.

Ordered fish, cods roe, 4 pieces of chicken and a small chips. Got extra cods roe and chicken for free. Very happy with the service I had. We were also very happy with the food. Big portions 😊

Love this place, it is our local Chippie and does excellent Fish with generous portions of chips. It also does lovely Kebabs as well as FrieD Chicken, burgers etc. reasonably priced and good quality i would highly recommend!

They serve good portions her but also do mini fillets and half portions of chips if you want. Fish cakes are tasty. Right in the centre soreally handy when you are in town.

Enormous portions and sometimes they put in an extra you havent ordered, like ordering fish and you get home and find you have an extra sausage! The chaps behind the counter are always so friendly and service is quick, which is great when you are hungry. Recommended.

The quality and quantity of the food is the best in Ely. I can say that I have a takeaway at least once a week from here and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We were in Ely looking for a chippy lunch, most fast food places were closed, but Rumble's were open so in we went. We got served straightaway but our chips were cold and not fresh at all. Not enjoyable.
