I'd avoided this place for years due to rude staff and poor food. Went there recently to get a quick dinner delivered for my son and mother-in-law because other options were very busy and the staff were surprisingly friendly, apparently the food was fine too. Let's hope the new management keep to this new high standard.

Balti munch box isn’t worth the money, would not recommend. Box stuffed with chips barely any meat, three pieces of donna kebab when you’re paying more than £24 for the box, menu didn’t even mention coming with chips so this was a surprise. Asked for garlic mayo on the side rather than putting it in a pot they literally poured mayo (not garlic) in the corner of the box. If this is what you get for the most expensive kebab on menu, I’d avoid ordering anything cheaper too.

I’ve been eating the naan wraps from here on and off over the last 15 odd years. The chicken is delicious but I don’t know what has happened to the naans. They’re definitely not what I would call a naan. More an overcooked flatbread. I’ve eaten several recently thinking it was a one off but they’ve all been the same. They need to sort out those naans or call them something else. The peshwari is now just filled with dry coconut that just falls out because the bread is overcooked and cracks open. There needs to be a big improvement before I try them again. Sorry but it’s an honest review.

I recently found out that Balti King was under new management. The food and service is incredible. I highly recommend and I’m definitely coming back for more.

Fast delivery, hot food and very tasty!

The menu we got through the door says “fast delivery “ yet we waited over 2 hours ?? We are only about 2 miles away , the pizzas was disgusting, they had no taste , they was cold and soggy , my partner couldn’t even eat hers , she started gagging , especially at the disgusting cubes of reformed chicken . After my pizza I had stomach pains and felt like I was full of trapped wind . Also the garlic dips had burst in the pizza boxes onto the pizza’s Chips again was cold and soggy Doner meat cold , sweaty and chewy Website isn’t at all user friendly , needs properly coding . Safe to say the menu is in the bin and we won’t ever order from balti king again . Shame because we like to support local businesses

a delivery that never turned up! was told they had been knocking on the door for 20 mins and ringing are number l, we have been in all night and absolutely nothing two hours later! avoid this place!

On Saturday myself and some friends embarked on a weekend of drinking and laughter, the night was fantastic and hiccups were had. Towards the end of the night my friend and I decided to stick to tradition and order a kebab. We’re not from the area so looked up the local kebab shop and this is the place we found. We ordered our doner meat and chips and a chicken meat and chips, this is our usual order so I would class us as kebab connoisseurs. What arrived that night can not be classed as a kebab. My friend opened his first to be greeted by doner meat that looked uncooked. It looked like the ready meal kebabs you get in supermarkets for 70p. We thought this was bad but then we opened the chicken meat and chips. This was quite literally some chips topped with slices of chicken that looked out of a packet from a super market. Never the less we were hungry so gave the food a try, at the time it wasn’t too bad although after a while we both had to stop as it got less enjoyable every bite we took. It wasn’t till the following morning that we realised what a mistake we had made eating this food. I felt the sudden urge in my stomach that can only be described as a thunder storm brewing in my rectum. I ran to the toilet and spent the next 30 minutes in there. It was like quick sand and at this point I realise the slices on my food might have been rat meat rather than chicken meat. Throughout the next 24 hours my friend and I were continuously on the toilet and still as I write this review nearly 48 hours later my stomach still isn’t correct. I am just thankful this was a one off as if this was my local kebab shop I’d never be eating a kebab again.

Always good tasty food, the owner is always friendly and polite, try their Tandoori Mix Special, and Garlic Bread with Cheese, they are both delicious, as are their Fries, and I'm really a Chip fan not a frie fan at all, so you know they must be good.

Ordered from this place a couple of times now and can’t fault it, food is very tasty and the prices are easily the cheapest in or around Ely. Have been given a 60min delivery time each time I’ve ordered (Friday/Saturday evenings) and food has always turned up on time or early. Delivery drivers have also been very friendly, would definitely recommend

I ordered some chicken tikka, with a cheeseburger and chips and was so pleased with the food! Definitely the best chicken tikka I’ve had, and the chilli sauce was one of the nicest I’ve tasted to date. Will definitely come back again, the staff were lovely and friendly, had great service and food was quick. Would recommend to all in Ely!

I was desperate for something to eat, so I did a Google search to see if the Balti King was open! I had a 12" Garlic Bread with Cheese and Kebab Meat!!! It was AMAZING!!! I thoroughly recommend this place!!! GREAT FOOD!!! GREAT STAFF!!! GREAT PRICES!!!

Fantastic for post pub chicken tikka naan

Ordered 2 large kebabs for 12.50 which is cheap. When I got the bag I thought wow this feels light. I took it home and found the chicken tikka was basically the chicken tikka sold in supermarkets warmed up. I didn't weigh the meat but would say it was less than 150g of either. There was only one salad between 2 and no sauces. When I asked for chillies I was given some jalapenos like what you find on top of a pizza. All in all very pathetic kebab definitely will not go back ever. My advice to anyone is head to rumbles instead. If Rumbles is shut just go home and have a cheese sandwich instead, it will be more filling!

Hello, I received my food earlier than expected, which is AMAZING. HOWEVER once I chowed down half way through my donner kebab wrap, I noticed the meat was rather pink. I believed it was the ketchup but then ketchup would've made it red. So I deduced that my kebab was rather undercooked. Also all of the chips are flimsy, making me believe they were also not cooked thoroughly.

Let's be honest, at 1am on a Friday night there food is a godsend as there is nothing within walking distance thats open but noone wants to eat there food sober as its lackluster and expensive

Had a delivery from here the other day , the shop itself looks dirty and dated but still tried the place out , ordered a range of food , food arrives in a tied unbreathable plastic bag , it’s all sweating inside with the cans of pop too , the kebab meat was nice but the chips were crap ( went to bin ) , pizza was bland , breads was dry and drinks were warm . Spent the entire next morning on the bowl with the runs

told 48 minutes had us waiting well over an hour with a young child food was barely warm! Didnt even get an apology wont be ordering again and we usually do every week.

Amazing kebab, every time happy.

Couldn't fault them. Ordered late and they took order and delivered after closing hours, food was as I ordered and was piping hot. Delivery man was also very polite. Thank you.

Their Donna wraps are fantastic.

Ordered food that arrived spilled out of the containers and mashed to bits. I called to explain and ask for a refund or replacement. I received an argument about "it depends on how you open the container", "as we deliver this food all the time" finally offered a replacement only to start arguing with me at my front door. AVOID!!!

Had our 1st take out from here based on a recommendation. We had 2x pizzas, chips and garlic bread. Pizza's were lovely (especially the Balti King special-amazing flavours). We ordered via the website, an email came through straight away with an ETA of 45 mins (Saturday evening I must add). Spot on 45mins later, food arrived. Not piping hot but got to take into account travel time (Ely to Soham), but warm enough. Delivery driver was very friendly and polite. All in all, a good experience. Would I order again: Yes Good value for money: Yes

I don't think I ever rated any place that badly but .. Well where do I start. Staff are rude and they make you feel unwelcome. If it comes to food - yes, it's cheaper than other kebab places in Ely but the quality is so poor. Food just doesn't taste right. Waste of money. Definitely not going back there :(

Not impressed, order was delivered over 1 hour 45 mins after order was placed, several items missing, food covered in sauce from a poorly packed pot of sauce, chicken was cold, chips was cold, phoned shop 5 times and was cut off numerous times, manager finally came onto phone as was apologetic, offered to replace food but already put food in oven as was fed up of waiting for someone to actually speak to me on the phone! Never ordering again!

Absolutely disgusting service. Foul and unacceptable attitude from staff who delivered more than half an hour early and then proceeded to be extremely rude to myself, my partner and step daughter for not being present to receive the delivery that we had requested for a specific delivery time (that was accepted by the vendor). They refused to listen to my partner's complaint over the phone. Even when I went in store and requested a refund for the COLD food, they would not give me the time of day and displayed further distain. Do not use them!

Absolutely awful. Was delivered a vegetarian pizza with 2 x added toppings of jalapeño and olives, only to find it had pepperoni under the cheese! Wouldn't mind, but I've been a vegetarian for 28years!!! I called to complain and was told that we must've asked for it! When I tried to go through the order, the man I was speaking to was so rude, no customer service. I am absolutely furious and upset that they have ruined our family night. We certainly didn't order it! Will NEVER go back and will encourage my friends and family to do the same. What a waste of our hard earned money.

This is the worst place you could imagine getting a take away from - seriously - if your hungry go home and have cheese on toast or eat air, this place is truly awful. Chicken tikka roll ans wedges - re-heated within an inch of its life. Sauces straight out of bookers, if I could give a minus star I sooooooooo would!!!

This place was recommend. The actual kebab was ok. Forgot the rest of my order and just said oh we gave it to someone else. The other guy that was there called a customer a C÷*@& for asking where his pizza was. I decided not to argue about my garlic bread for the fear that a fight would break out. So yeh if you want half an order and like to sworn at 5 stars.

Standard of food was 5* the only problem is stuff gets forgotten on your orders I.e sauces, cheese on chips, cans of drink!! Apart from that all good :)
