The best restaurants in Market Cambridge East of England

Hadn't been here for ages as it is not the best of places for refreshments. We called in today to get a refund for some slippers that started to fall apart after less than two weeks. Person serving not very bright ! I put the defective slippers on the counter with my receipt at the side of them. I told him one of the slippers was falling apart after less than two weeks. In typical robotic style he uttered, "Have you got your receipt ?" Help!! As we were in there we decided we would just have a tea and cappuccino before walking back for the park and ride bus to return to our car. Queue was not too long but service was, as usual, so slow. The walking art gallery woman serving ought to have her long dyed blonde hair tied back as she was flicking and shaking it about all the time and where food is involved this is not good hygiene practice. Then, as we were sitting and having our drinks we, and several others, were shocked by a bang as a roof tile dropped down on an unfortunate customer sitting a few seats away. Luckily he didn't appear to be injured. I was shocked as well as I have PTSD. There was an area that was screened off for work in progress but it was inadequately guarded and the seats and table should never have been as close to the screened area as they were - as this poor chap discovered ! All in all, a very eventful visit but for the wrong reasons.

The service was not the best, we had to wait to be served a very long time that we thought to walk out. Pizza is okay but the toppings are below average.

Pedí un capuchino, cuando trajeron café, había un lápiz labial rojo brillante en la taza por estos hechos está claro que la taza no se lava, el personal ni siquiera lo vio, me di cuenta, el café se cambió, pero la sensación no es agradable

Don’t let the comfy interior fool you, the landlord and landlady have a history of throwing people out and my friends and I fell victim to this, the drinks are good but the service is terrible, we were thrown out over something that didn’t involve us and the landlord came up to us swearing and raising his voice at us almost shouting about something we didn’t even know happened. I live locally and hear tails of this happening often. Terrible service

Stopped here at about 1210 so early for lunch. There was only one sandwich and two tuna melt panini rolls to choose from very poor at this time of day. One panini chosen and toasted this I was told very nice it also had cheese and a light onion filling along with the tuna. I had a tomato and basil soup which was served with two lightly toasted sour dough bread slices. The was also nice. It appeared lots of tables being used by people on laptops who look like they have been there ages. Well this is Cambridge with lots of students.

Hay una razón por la que no muestran sus precios. . ¡Son caros! Por £ 13 o así un plato, yo esperaría un buen restaurante limpio o comida sublime. Esto no es nada de eso. La única cocina que vi fue un huevo encima de mi vientre de cerdo. La parrilla y el delantal de los cocineros parecían necesitar TLC. El penng Char kway teow era soso y el vientre de cerdo aunque sabroso estaba mal en la relación carne a arroz. No me malinterpretes he comido mucha comida callejera en todo el mundo, no tenía estos precios y ciertamente no era soso. Los platos se pueden cocinar con antelación, pero aquí no se beneficiaron de ello.

The Roof Top Bar is a top end establishment, yet recently it is anything but, broken and dirty toilets, dirty tables, untidy chairs, staff talking rather than making the place tidy and acceptable.

The newly launched hotpot buffet is both affordable and delicious! There’s a great variety of ingredients to choose from, and everything is fresh and flavorful. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a satisfying and value-for-money dining experience in Cambridge!

Nice staff and big seating area on the 1 floor. Not much to eat, coffee is fine.

Good afternoon, I apologise for sending this message to begin with however I am incredibly disappointed in the delivery process and refund process McDonalds has. I have called multiple times the complaint call and explained my case and due to the procedure which is set in place was dismissed and left disappointed. I ordered my food to my correct address and the driver posted my food at a different door that had the same number. (Provided are the two doors the brown one is mine). I complained and tried to explain that these address are not dar from eachother the pink one is on james st and the brown one my one is on the address given. In the end if constant calling i went to go knock at the peoples house where the food was delivered and they said that he dropped it off and then came back and took it. However because the picture was taken this counted as it being delivered. Not only have we paid and spent our money which we can not get a refund for we also did not have anything to eat and nothing was done. I am honestly just sad and would love for this to be resolved in anyway it can. Thank you.

Great place to meet and have a quiet drink

A great city centre location a short walk from the Grand Arcade Shopping Centre parking (albeit expensive parking). The spacious open bar easily facilitated our group. A great range of beers served quickly and efficiently. Snacks provided were served as we mingled.
