Unpretentious coffee shop/eaterie. Friendly staff. Herbal tea is served in a large welcoming mug. The falafel wrap was delicious 😋 The crepe was a little disappointing as it was more expensive than the wrap and only 1 was served, however it was still tasty!

They seem fundamentally unable to do the basic tasks of running a cafe. They don’t have table numbers so waitresses aimlessly wander the cafe yelling order numbers and our sandwich has taken 40 minutes thus far with no sign of it ever actually arriving. It’s not particularly busy but they just seem terminally incompetent.

Staff is so kind and genuinely want you to enjoy your time here. Food is delicious and atmosphere is so cosy - would definitely come again!

Great stop for sandwiches, salads or snacks at a decent price. First time there and I had such a lovely and welcoming customer experience! Staff were very friendly and respectful. I definitely recommend!

Massively gone down hill since the gentleman who used to work he his left. People who work here now couldn’t tell my mum who is gluten free what was gluten free on the menu or even account for it by using different clean equipment like most places do. Then to be told the food would take 30 minutes due to having poached eggs on the order. Now tell me how poached eggs take 30 minutes!! Disappointing.

Excellent cafe for relaxing coffee and sandwiches.. the desserts on display are yummy.

Had the Tatties breakfast which was good quality although served on a cold plate.

As a Viennese, I am very demanding when it comes to coffee. We drank very good coffee here (we didn't eat anything, but what I saw on the plates on the neighboring tables looked good).

Cafe was packed, service was therefore a little slower, staff were open about wait times and were extremely friendly. Atmosphere was excellent and loved the decoration.

Error to go here. Took ages to receive indifferent food. Kindly waiting staff. Smoke alarm constantly went off.

This cafe has potential but needs to try much harder. It was clean and a quiet location in the city. We came for tea and cake but I’m sorry to say the cakes were very disappointing. They tasted cheap and processed. Pots of tea were very generous and hot. Overall the price was one of the most expensive I have seen outside of London for cakes. A hot chocolate drink was £5.00!

Told 25min wait for a simple order (2x Chicken wrap and chips) fine, okay. Turns out 35min + wait. Seeing more complex orders made much later than mine go out is annoying and frustrating. Advice fullfil the orders in the the order they are made to avoid annoying your customers. It is very obvious when ordering numbers are being shouted out.

Awful experience!! DO NOT order food here, maybe the cakes are alright but everything I had was rubbish; a milk shake at this place is milk with flavored powder. Sorry, that’s not a shake and at £6.00 it’s a horrible ripoff. I also had fish & chips and they were the worst I’ve EVER had and that’s including 30 years of other experiences, this was the worst, by far! 1 star for friendly staff…. Worst meal in recent memory……

The guy is absolutely lovely. Is amazing with my daughter always giving her treats. Staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming. The food is amazing and delicious.

Excellent start or end day in Cambridge. Wide selection of cakes, Apfelstrudel my favourite. Also scampi reasonably priced when there is time for lunch. Staff friendly and service good

Used to be a great place to grab something to eat and read. Was the only restaurant in town I found that didn’t needlessly play background music. That seems to have changed now unfortunately.

Top-notch service, good food. Eponymous baked potatoes are your first choice. After, try the lemon polenta cake. Uncle Gino will take good care of you.

Overpriced and the service a little abrasive. Cold toast served along with a pot of tea where the pot leaked quite alot of it onto the table. There must be better around than this.

Went in last weekend brought a couple of coffees and some cakes takeaway. The coffees for an independent cafe where subpar, there are other independent coffee places around town with much nicer coffee. We took the cakes home to enjoy with our kid and they where so stale and it wasn't like we had kept them for days it wasn't even an hour after purchasing them, and it was like the cakes where display pieces old and stale. We didn't even finish a single 1 between the 3 of us. Very disappointed. Serving staff where fine no positive no negative to say.

We got lured in by the display of cakes under the counter. I went for a piece of chocolate pistachio cake, which i really enjoyed, and my partner went for the carrot cake. It's a nice place to stop central to the town for a drink and a cake .

Amazing service and food in Tatties. The manager Gino is very friendly and made me feel like a regular after two visits. The food is second to none and I chose this place for breakfast and brunch over anywhere in Cambridge. Very good price for the standard of food and how it’s plated. The picture speaks for its self. 5 stars!

Always come here when I’m in Cambridge - the jacket potatoes are always spot on. The goats cheese and spinach one is amazing

A fellow student here! I have gone to Tatties numerous times during my studies. It is a beautiful place to eat, study, and spend time. Absolutely love the staff! They are always so kind, especially Geno. I couldn’t recommend this place more. I will truly miss it when I am gone.

This is becoming one of my favourite places to meet friends in Cambridge; the staff are lovely, the food fresh and very well presented and it is all really clean. Good smoothies. warmest regards, Karen

Terrible burnt coffee.. just yuck. I normally take my coffee black and have a pretty high tolerance for bitter but this was just yuck

I like visiting this cafe for lunch whenever I go into Cambridge. Although it’s in a central location, it’s tucked away and cozy. The owner always has a friendly greeting for me and the food always comes out quickly. I tend to choose their tasty paninis with different fillings; I did choose a baked potato once and although the filling was delicious, it was waaaay too big for me :)

In Cambridge for the day, fancied a jacket potatoes, spotted this nice cafe, and I must say, the service was to a high standard, considering it was very busy, food was very hearty and tasty, worth the money, one of the finest potatoes I've eaten! Highly recommend

Wow, what great service we received today. We were looking for somewhere to have coffee and cake and we had our boarder terrier with us and we're struggling to find a dog friendly place. The young girl said we could go in as the dog was small. She made us feel so welcome and even brought over some water for the dog. The coffee was spot on and cake was excellent. Highly recommend. Thank you.

If you want to have a good day, don't come here to experience the service. The attitude of the waiters here is not very good.

Absolutely disgraceful of them! We waited over 40 minutes for our food and when it came it was awful and chicken was inedible! Toilets were disgusting and barely usable. After our wait for food it cost us £10 more in parking due to the delay! Would not recommend.

So frustrating - 40 min wait for 2 wraps! Everything we asked he kept saying 10 min. We’re told that there were 5 breakfasts ahead of us but even after that we waiting another 10 min! So bad! I feel sorry for the staff cos they clearly couldn’t do anything about it. Management need to sort the wait out!

I would give 0 stars if possible. Over 50 minutes wait for lunch. Rude manager who made a comment about Europeans being so impatient. When food finally came we left most of it as it was over cooked and dry. 100% not what I expect for a £35 lunch for 2. Avoid like the plague.

Terrible terrible experience. Waited 40 min for 2 wraps - the chicken was tough and inedible, salad brown, the place was dirty - especially the toilets and service slow. £30.00 and one hour later we left hungry and frustrated. Sadly everyone was waiting for food as they said they were delayed by breakfasts!

Awful experience. 45 minute wait for a panini and a burger! Milkshake was half a cup of warm skimmed milk with no cream. Nothing like the photo…and £5.45! Assuming they ran out of chips as they changed half way through the orders. French fries served were so crispy we didn’t eat them. Another £4.50 wasted. Waitress didn’t really stand a chance, however the place was about 2/3 empty. God knows what they do on a busy day. Overall expensive and a horrible all round experience.

Perfect place to sit and have a coffee break in between shopping in Cambridge. Also does amazing food. I often have the chicken ceaser salad and it never disappoints.

Ordered coffee and cake in Tatties for two. It came to £16. Didn't see any prices for the cakes otherwise I may not have ordered. I was asked if I would pay in cash, by the male, really don't know why but I paid by card anyway. The coffee was really strong and not to my liking.

I was there a few days ago for breakfast and I tried the Tatties Breakfast with an English tea, which was pretty good. The place, in general, was quite cozy and the service was good and quite fast with a reasonable price.

Having waited an hour for our overpriced, cold and bland food to arrive, I was left longing for some sense of soul to return, which didn’t happen by the manager shouting at us or the staff. This is the worst cafe I have ever been to. There is a burglar alarm on the wall which I felt very tempted to press to save other unsuspecting victims from falling into this lair. The saving grace was the comedic value of reading the awful reviews as we tucked into our burnt toast. Next time I will consider eating a pile of cigarette butts while sat in a puddle, for a more comfortable, flavoursome and friendly experience

Food was nice but sparse and a bit overpriced to be honest. Think they forgot to add the coffee to the flat white as well. Nice decor and comfortable seating. Maybe some background music playing would add to the atmosphere. Would we go back, probably not.

Fabulous friendly service on a sunny mid morning for breakfast. Tattie breakfast looked wonderful and full english as well as my favourite Salmon , eggs and avocado dish. The coffee was totally excellent. By far the best americano for a long time. Free juice and student discount available. Also a huge array of delicious pastries. A gem has been discovered today. Hope to visit many more times. Thank you Tatties.

Lovely people and great sevice. Brunch options were great but the cheesecake was a tad bit dry.

Ham ,egg and chips. Chips were not warm. Ham poor quality. Egg yolks hard. Ordered egg and bacon baguette. got pannini!. Bacon poor quality and eggs hard. ordered eggs benedict with ham but got prosciutto. poached egg yolks hard. ordered sausage bacon and mushroom omellette. could not see sausage in it! Omelette overcooked.

Greeted by an unsmiling owner/manager pointing sharply at a table for us to sit with no eye contact. He seems to have one or two favourite customers that he sucks up to but new customers get the cold shoulder treatment. Lots of unnecessary banging on pots and shouting orders behind the counter, too. The toilet resembles a motorway service station cubicle by late evening. It reeks of piss with a slippery floor, over-filled bin and no hand drier or towels.

When we arrived the owner helped my mum to her seat as she has a walker. He also took our order for us,the food was delicious and big portion sizes. Asked to add an item to my selection and was not a problem. Will us again when next in Cambridge

If you want a full breakfast in Cambridge, this is an excellent spot! Homemade sausages, fresh bacon and the coffee was fantastic.

This is NOT a dog-friendly cafe. I've been a few times and the food is great. However, I went in the other day with my medium-sized dog (very chill and well-behaved) and was refused entry. There was plenty of space too, but they only allow very small dogs apparently and wouldn't give me a reason why.

Terrible food and overpriced. Chocolate brownie had obviously been frozen or kept in a fridge ages as it had a stale fridge taste to it hence could not eat it. Was asked to pay cash. A strange request. Overall an unpleasant experience and would not recommend.

Dropped in for a quick coffee and bite. Scruffy looking staff, salad on plate belonged in the bin, Cannoli tasted rank. No hand towels in toilet. When pointing out the basics to who seemed to be in charge just got a shrug of the shoulders. Was told to dry hands on toilet roll. Nice work tatties, keep it up.

Disappointing. Asked for gluten free cake . Was served carrot cake which I had an immediate reaction to . When I mentioned they might want check ingredients the owner/manager said he was 99% sure all carrot cake from the cash and carry is gluten free . Made no attempt to show me the ingredients or allergen list . No care was taken over cross contamination . Cake was uncovered next to cakes that were not gluten free and same tongs used to serve . Now feeling unwell . Nice place but would avoid if you have any sort of food sensitivity .

Horrible service, guy didn’t tell us that we were meant to order at the front, my mother was refused tap water when she asked as they ‘were busy making breakfasts’, refused to make my initial order as they have to many breakfasts to make, and told a table next to us they had 5 minutes to leave to fit in another group that had just come in the door, despite the fact that they were still eating. He also then forgot our order so we had to wait even longer to eat. 2 breakfasts took 40 mins, were of poor quality and cost £40. Chips tasted microwaved, ham looks and tasted like it’s come out of a £2 packet from tesco and milkshakes are made with rather nesquick or crusha. Food was cold, coffee isn’t even great. Horrible attitude - do not recommend.

Came in for a jacket potato and was told it would be around 20 mins due to it being busy which was fine. After 50 mins I went and chased the food as it hadn’t arrived and a gentleman who I believe was the manager then came out and literally shouted at us “it’s hot food and it’s busy so what do you expect” and dumped the food on the table and left. The food was hard and not very nice. I wouldn’t recommend.

We were visiting Cambridge for the day and came across Tatties for our lunch we had burgers and chips, were not disappointed, had a bit of a wait for food, but can honestly say best burgers we have had in a while, milkshakes were very good, staff were friendly too, would definitely recommend.

Ordered a burger and a chicken wrap. Was told it would take 20-30 mins, but ended up taking 50. Food was very bland, dry, and quality was poor. Meagre portions of salad, with similarly mean portion of lukewarm chips. Told the manager that we were not happy we had to wait so long, and he was somewhat defensive but give us some complimentary Greek dessert thingies, which seemed like they had sat in the display cabinet for 2 weeks and tasted like stale cardboard. Service very noisy, as their system involves giving each customer a number as they self-service order at the till, then the waiting staff shout that number out continuously as they walk across the restaurant trying to locate the owner of the order in hand. Would not recommend.
