Our group desperately needed a venue for a band rehearsal last minute and Michael at the Red Bull was so accommodating and found us a space! We are so grateful and will definitely be back for drinks! Look out for Unfolding the Musical - coming to Cambridge soon!

We are a group that had use of the function room today. We had such a smooth and friendly experience. The function room was well equipped and felt private, with lots of games and plenty of room for what we needed. Thank you for a great venue!

Great relaxed family pub, easy atmosphere, really nice staff and best Pizza I have had in a while ... strongly recommend.

Went for a pizza and pint. On Mondays there's a 2 for 1 offer on pizzas. Not great, but was good enough.

We rented the accommodation which was ideal for our stay, very clean, well equipped and spacious. There was a bit of noise in the late evening - only to be expected above a pub.

Waited 1.5 hours for pizzas with a group of 8 people. Was then told that there was no dough remaining. By that time, the kitchen had closed. We still had to pay for our drinks.

One of the best out of the Centre pubs about. The food is incredible, the staff are so welcoming and genuinely lovely… particularly Megan and Mikey. You cannot have a bad day/evening/night in this venue.

Ordered a side of chips at 4:50 on a Wednesday, no one else in the pub. Told the kitchen opens at 5, I said fine. Got the chips at 5:20. I had to check in twice to make sure I wasn't forgotten. In what world do chips take 20 mins to cook!?

I really like this pub. Excellent for a pizza and a pint, and my other half tells me the kebabs are good too. Good place for a quiet lunch, gets busier in the evening...

I have deleted my previous critical review, as I was delighted to find the Red Bull with new staff and back on good form on a Monday ‘Two For The Price Of One’ pizza yesterday evening. Tasty pizzas served quickly and efficiently, and the wine list as good as ever. Pleased we had booked, as they were understandably very busy. We shall certainly return!

Very cosy old pub! Great pizza! Easy to reach at Barton Road in Newnham, which is a part of Cambridge.

My local, and a great local it is too! Excellent food and drinks range, the pizza is a must-have. Red wine of choice is the montepuluciano. Emma and the team make the place a welcoming environment.

One of the best unexpected finds in Cambridge. Pizza is great - dough is excellent consistency, flavour and overall bake. Really cozy spot, well priced and very local feel.

Could be an absolutely amazing pub if they thought a bit more creatively about the layout of the interior. It lacks cosiness but really shouldn't! Since the recent change management the attention to service, customers (rather than themselves) cleanliness (tables covered in scraps of food), sense of getting stuff sorted has gone right down hill. A pub I want to love so much.

New management team have transformed this sleepy pub into a lively community hub. Great food (twofer pizzas on a Monday), terrific beer selection. Never seen it better in a decade-and-a-half of coming here.

Welcoming local pub in Newnham. Very good food and excellent beer selection. I’ve had pizza here, and chicken skewers. Would recommend both. They have pub nights on Tuesdays and other events from time to time. The people that run it are very friendly - they always make you feel like you want to return!

Gentle family, catch up, special occasion kind of venue. It has a church beside the outdoor area in the back! Like a monolith. I would reccommend here.

I have try to have lunch at the Red Bull this Sunday (19.11.24) I ordered food at 12.35 and are still waiting at13.34. All I can say don't bother. The staff need to tell customers if there is a major delay.

We have lived near the Red Bull for about 13 years and we used to go there for pizza, then stopped as Cambridge got flooded with new pizza places like pizza express, zizi, franco manca and pizza pilgrim. We toured all of them many times, then tried Red Bull again a few months ago. It is great pizza! It is right up there with the middle of cambridge spots. Great ingredients, super good crust, very good sauce, delish comb8nations and the right size for one person. We also recently discovered that mondays are 2 pizza for £15, which is an amazing deal. Totally recommend and will keep going back.

For a Monday, I was supper surprised at how busy it was! My partner and I ordered the two for £15 pizzas, which where well needed. Both where very good, and well enjoyed amongst the rest of the revilers.

Nice place and location but really disappointed that they had no Burgers or Chicken for menu meals. More or less only had Pizzas available. So it was a passible pizza but nothing to get excited about.

That was a great experience. The food was delicious and the service impecable with a delightful smily waitress. Superb!

Lovely pub with a great pub quiz. But 6£ for a 330ml non-alcoholic beer when you're selling pints for 7£ is frankly taking the piss. Not encouraging when trying to moderate alcohol intake.

Lovely pub near Cambridge with a good atmosphere and food

Came for a couple of pints and some dinner. Great atmosphere and outdoor area. Food was very tasty and portion sizes were large. I had a pizza and my partner some scampi and chips. Both were excellent. We also did not have to wait long for food or drinks on a busy evening.

Worked out well for a late lunch. Nice food and beer.

We previously visited in April and really enjoyed our meal here: excellent service, tasty pizzas and nice atmosphere. So we decided to return in August - what a mistake! While the pizzas were still tasty, we were stunned to see them served at our table in takeaway pizza boxes. My pizza had a ball of burrata in the middle which meant that it couldn’t be eaten without a knife and fork; cutting a pizza in a cardboard box was unpleasant and unsatisfying. It also completely detracted from the experience of dining out - we might as well have ordered pizzas in from Deliveroo and sat in our garden. We paid ~£80 for four pizzas and drinks. We’ll be heading to an alternative pub for pizzas next time - the Salisbury Arms apparently serve theirs on plates…

Weirdly bad service. I went with a family member who is autistic (yes, properly and provably so) and who went in to buy drinks. After 20 plus minutes he had had not been served while others had been served before him, and the bar woman had not even acknowledged him. As well as serving others ahead of him, she was talking to mates as he waited - and waited - without any acknowledgement, so he left the bar without purchasing the drinks. I wouldn’t like to think that the staff of the Red Bull were ableist so look forward to an explanation.

Really nice pub with outside seating available during spring/summer. The food was really good; recommend the Halloumi Burger or the pizza. Worth a visit and they have food specials on Monday evenings!

Is this the start of a sad decline? Used to love this place, the food and service were great. BUT NOT NOW.... yesterday we ordered food at 7.10pm, were told about 30 minute wait (fair enough)... food arrived at 8.30pm - ish, all very piecemeal, all in cardboard 'takeaway' packaging and way way smaller portion size than a couple months ago. We are unlikely to hold our monthly get-together there in future

Great little pub! We visited this spot a few times while staying in Cambridge. Very welcoming and friendly. It was a favorite of ours, as well as my friend, who stayed for a year. I always mentioned it when I would talk about the trip to England.

An egregiously long wait time the couple times I’ve been, but delicious food :) hopefully they’re not understaffed anymore (my memory is from august 2022)

Food quality was average: chef forgot one of the pizza topping (no apology or discount applied), pizza base was burnt, as were both burgers we ordered. Too pricey for what you get sadly but the staff was nice.

Hapless service, went with a small group who all ordered pizza. Separate orders all made consecutively. 2 undercooked turn up after around 30 minutes and then after being told the third would be a "few minutes" 15-20 mins later a seriously overcooked one turns up. Was advised the beer was fine but food very poor. Needless to say, won't be eating there again.

Very basic pub. Serves pizza and 4 types of burgers plus chips. No deserts. We went there at 4pm on Sunday. They have run out of all burgers and even ketchup ! Average pizza. Ok beer. Obstructive service. I would not myself go again.

I've been to the Red Bull with friends on numerous occasions over the last few years. The ambience is good; it's full of friendly local people. The pizzas and food are overpriced for the quality served. Portion size is sometimes small (eg, few chips as side with scampi) and the service is frequently very slow (I've waited 45 minutes or more on multiple occasions) -- that's because they often do orders strictly in terms of when they've come in, which means if you put in a single order for a dessert for a kid they'll wait to sort it until they've finished doing a full dinner order for a table of six. All a bit amateur on the food/restaurant side.

Friendly staff in a cosy pub. Had a lovely pint topped off with the best 'chef's burger' we've had in a very long time! Very impressed will definitely be back again soon 👍🏼 only criticism is that the burger isn't listed as one of cambridges best, when it 100% should be!

Popped in for a quick bite with my son. Solid fish n chips and burgers and decent beers on tap. Limited menu but everything we’ve had so far has been tasty, fresh and quickly served.

We had a very special wedding dinner at The Red Bull on the 28th September. The whole experience was beyond our wildest expectations. It was a small party of just 8 people and we had no idea what to expect. The team ( under the careful direction of Emma ) went to great trouble to prepare the private dining room for us so that it looked festive for our little party. The service was brilliant and we were able to order suitable meals for everyone which came in good time and were excellent in terms of flavour and generous portions. The pub also allowed us to bring in the special Wedding cake which made all the difference to the event. The team were helpful and cheerful and fully prepared to do whatever it took to make our event special and let us have the memories we wanted to have. The food and drinks were very fairly priced and excellent value for money. We could not have wanted for any better place to celebrate our special day. Many grateful thanks to the team.

Half the items on the menu weren't available. It took over an hour and a half for anybody at our table to get their meal and two hours for some people.

I visited the red bull on Friday evening, fairly busy on arrival was greeted by a friendly member of the team who explained it was table service only. Very welcoming atmosphere and bar lady was very chatty and even recommended some of the food in the menu as I was struggling to decide what to order as all the pizzas sound lovely. Good was delicious homemade and had that authentic taste of Italy hollumi fries were even better and definitely worth their price. Waiting times for food was extremely quick food arrived with ten minutes of offering. Overall extremely good atmosphere amazing food and will definitely come back in the future

I come to the Red Bull regularly and the drinks, food, service and atmosphere are excellent. They mostly have pizzas and some other decent pub choices.

It has been our local here for about a decade and the team have always been welcoming and friendly, even when really busy. Our favourite place to relax and unwind. Pricing is standard for Cambridge, but a reasonable selection of drinks and a food menu that is carefully honed to offer just enough and at a reasonable price. In comparison with some (overpriced) places in Cambridge, and other (under quality) places, the Red Bull has the right balance of price, quality, and service to keep us coming back again and again for a quick and quiet drink, a larger night out with friends, or a meal when we can't be bothered to cook. Long Live the Red Bull!

Total waste of time, not enough staff, table service only and full of kids. Rude bar man asked where we were from- what does that matter ???? Such bad service gave up and left aster sat there for 20 mins Lacks atmosphere and customer attention

I ate here with my kids on a Saturday night and we all had a great time. The marquee and outside patio area had a really buzzy atmosphere and whilst the staff were very busy, they were extremely efficient. My young boys wolfed their pizzas down with one saying its now his favourite place to eat! My cheese burger was the ultimate comfort food, both super tasty and very filling. We will definitely be back.

We did not eat here because of time constraints. Bar staff are lovely, very welcoming and friendly. Just unfortunate that the food serving time was not suitable for us. However, there is something wrong with the menu section of the website. Also, food serving times need to be more prominentThe people working here deserve better.

It's a pub not a gastro pub but it is most excellent. Really good oven baked pizzas, great service, great choice of drinks and really friendly staff. Consistently on top of its game. That's why I keep going back!

Llevo unos años comiendo y bebiendo en The Red Bull. Pub adecuado con personal y gerente super amable y trabajador. Restaurante de calidad de menús y comida. Se admiten perros con espacio dentro y fuera para todos los requisitos, con o sin perros. El pub recibió algunas críticas espantosas cuando Emma, la gerente, se fue. Pero tan pronto como fue inducida a regresar, todo volvió a ser excelente en semanas. Gran lugar, gente, comida y servicio.

Este es uno de nuestros pubs favoritos en Cambridge. Tiene muy buena comida, y particularmente las pizzas están entre las mejores de la ciudad. La selección de cervezas también es genial. Debido a su ubicación, no está invadido por turistas y es fácil conseguir una mesa sin reserva. Este pub es también para niños y tiene, por ejemplo, juegos de pintura para niños. No vengo aquí lo suficiente porque cada vez que lo hago disfruto de mi tiempo en The Red Bull. Quemador de troncos que ruge en esta época del año, configuración de barra tradicional con los habituales en el proyecto y un par de pálidas diferentes. Se admiten mascotas, estacionamiento limitado en la parte trasera y asientos exteriores adicionales. Sin embargo, asocio este pub con estar muy ocupado y abarrotado durante las horas pico, pero afortunadamente este viernes por la noche no estaba abarrotado de gente.

As some of my previous reviews have stated , Cambridge has a real problem with third rate restaurants serving overpriced but seriously underwhelming food ! Sadly this is another example , burnt scampi and chips with a feast of five pieces of scampi ! What a joke . This is cheap food so not burning it , serving a decent portion and charging a reasonable price doesn’t seem to be part of the business model here . The only positive? I wasn’t paying !

We visited first in August and found it lovely. The standard menu was a little dull but they did a trio of sausages and mash as a daily special and that was lovely. The mash and sausages were well-cooked (and sausages aren't terribly easy to cook really well) and very flavourful. I would happily have rated the Red Bull 5 stars on that visit.

Almorcé aquí el otro día con un amigo, y he estado varias veces antes. Es un agradable pub auténtico con un patio agradable para sentarse afuera en el verano. Ambos disfrutamos nuestra comida, un plato de sopa y una ensalada Nicoise. ¡También puedo recomendar las pizzas de experiencias pasadas! El servicio fue eficiente, y la señora que nos servía era particularmente amable y acogedora. Recomendado.

We went here for dinner on our UK (2018 heatwave!) trip in Cambridge. The food was very good. I had one of their pizzas and other in my party had fish and chips. All good.

The pub was taken over by local cricket teams. The bar staff refused to provide proper service to anyone else. This included closing their kitchen early and making other drinkers unwelcome. Three families of visitors were made to leave their tables by encroaching sports players still dressed in their kit. The pub is unreliable and i would advise anyone to go to another nearby establishment.

Regularmente ir el lunes por la noche 2 por 1 pizza. Las pizzas son excelentes para cualquier estándar. El servicio es muy amable y servicial. Todos izquierda superpuesta embaladas en cajas para llevar a fin de que se lo puede quitar. Una noche buena.

Hübscher ruhiger Garten. Die Speisekarte ist für einen Pub ausgefallen unf´d umfangreich. Pizza empfehlenswert.

The Red Bull is a pub settled a couple of blocks away from the University of Cambridge in the Newnham neighborhood. My friends and I enjoyed coming here because of its proximity to our dorms. The Red Bull has great food - faves being their veggie burger (best I've ever had) and their goat cheese & balsamic pizza toped with arugula. We enjoyed coming here for a pint and pizza and loved watching World Cup games here. Staff was very friendly, and it is a typical English pub atmosphere.

I came in on a Monday evening looking for a bite to eat. There was a football game on so it was a bit busy but not overly crowded. I went to order a pizza and they informed me that you had to have pre-ordered to get served. I get if a place runs out of food, but their menus were on display. I prefer places that are more prepared to serve their customers.

I like[d] the Red Bull. It is a charming, old-fashioned, pub located in the lovely neighbourhood of Newnham, located a fifteen-minute stroll from the city centre. Despite the close location to town, the pub is far enough away to escape ‘tourist central’ and enjoy a ‘local’ experience. In the winter, it’s lovely to enjoy a pint or a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire, and in the warmer months, there is a quaint courtyard out back. Also, the pub's pizzas are pretty tasty.

Stopped here for lunch. Goats cheese and beetroot salad and a chicken Caesar salad costing for the two £20 . Shame they forgot to put any goats cheese or chicken in them! Also bulked out by masses of red onion. Not good value for money.
