The Bath House in Cambridge

The atmosphere in the Bath House was really good. A little quieter than the Anchor next door, but still historic in appearance. The service was quick and there was sufficient seating available without waiting. The staff were really friendly and the service was excellent. I ordered the flat iron steak which was cooked to perfection and from what I saw everything else on the menu was equally good. Next time I'm in Cambridge I will definitely go there again. Well worth a visit.

I bought for 17 pounds the special dish of the pub ( also evidenced in the menu) that was a steak. What I obtained was a frozen and boiled meat, just taken out of the fridge and when I went complaining they didn’t give me a proper answer. Delusional and embarrassing experience! 👎

Classic Pub Trying to write reviews for the Cambridge pubs therefore entered the restaurant. The Sunday roast was in generous amount. Everything was okay except for the potatoes. The potatoes tasted so bland that required to dip the gravy to finish. While the fries of the burger was just warm, not hot enough. The staff were friendly and nice. Cosy and clean environment. Seats are comfortable. Tables are not too close to each other. It's located in the Cambridge town centre but the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Large portions of food. Overall it's a reasonable restaurant.

Pub in the Centre of Cambridge that is owned by the Greene King group. Ales were excellent - I had a pint of Landlord and my wife had a Greene King IPA. We had rather a problem with our Steak & Ale pie because it didn't contain any actual steak!! So I was left wondering "where's the beef?" We returned it and the staff were very good about it even going so far as to refund me the entirety of my order. I hadn't asked them to do that so they went above and beyond in that sense. But the excuses for the steak and ale pie not containing any steak was "we buy it in from outside, we don't make it in-house". Huh? That sat oddly with both me and my wife because surely if you are in charge of serving up food (£13.75 for the steak and ale pie) then you have some quality control which checks whether the food is, you know, any good? Either way it didn't seem much of an excuse! Also the chips were first served lukewarm and definitely not fresh. They were replaced swiftly enough. Walking into this pub we wanted a simple small pub lunch but walking out with nothing in our stomachs we were wondering if Greene King breweries spend much time on quality control of the food they are buying in to their pubs? We were then told to go next door to Bread & meat which we then did and had an outstanding lunch. We ordered the Philly Cheeseteak. Which contained masses of lovely succulent tasty shredded beef topped off by yummy melted Cheese. I suppose it's the difference between making something with love in a place that is your dream versus big chain mass production which is most certainly not made with love. And not only not made with love but not even made in-house! Thanks for refunding me my money. I'd have preferred a real lunch with real steak in a real Steak and ale pie.

Tuvimos un problema con nuestro Steak & Ale pastel porque no contenía ningún filete real! Así que me quedé preguntándome "¿dónde está la carne? " Lo devolvimos y el personal fue muy bueno al respecto incluso llegando a reembolsarme la totalidad de mi pedido. No les había pedido que hicieran eso, así que fueron más allá en ese sentido. Pero las excusas para el bistec y pastel de cerveza que no contiene ningún bistec fue "lo compramos desde fuera, no lo hacemos en casa". ¿Eh? Eso nos sentó raro a mí y a mi esposa porque seguramente si estás a cargo de servir comida (£13. 75 para el bistec y pastel de cerveza) entonces usted tiene algún control de calidad que comprueba si la comida es, ya sabes, algo bueno? ¡De cualquier manera no parecía una excusa! También las patatas fritas se sirvieron por primera vez tibias y definitivamente no frescas. Fueron reemplazados con suficiente rapidez. Entrando en este pub queríamos un pequeño almuerzo en el pub, pero saliendo sin nada en el estómago nos preguntábamos si las cervecerías Greene King pasan mucho tiempo en el control de calidad de la comida que están comprando en sus pubs? Luego nos dijeron que fuéramos al lado de Pan y carne que luego hicimos y tuvimos un almuerzo excepcional. Pedimos el Philly Cheeseteak. Que contenía masas de suculenta y encantadora ternera sabrosa rallada coronada por delicioso queso derretido. Supongo que es la diferencia entre hacer algo con amor en un lugar que es tu sueño versus la producción en masa de cadena grande que ciertamente no se hace con amor. Y no solo no hecho con amor, sino que ni siquiera hecho en - casa! Gracias por devolverme mi dinero. Hubiera preferido un almuerzo de verdad con filete de verdad en un filete de verdad y pastel de cerveza.

Went to see a band at the corn exchange popped it for a bite to eat loved the relaxing atmosphere good food and a nice pint only just across the road from the venue

Went to the bar and asked for a pint of Coors, the blonde woman who was serving literally just said "what's that?" twice.. no customer service, absolutely dreadful communication.. maybe hire people who know what a basic lager is.

We ordered some food it arrived very quickly and very cold. We had to ask to return it. We asked if we could have something else off the menu. We had to pay extra. The food was ok. But both suffered during the night with terrible stomach cramps. We don’t think the scampi was cooked correctly. Defiantly would not recommend eating here.

Alesha is lovely, very accommodating to our reunion of 20. Sam and Aidan are the bar had great customer service and made our night enjoyable!

Used to come here all the time but it’s changed for the worse. It was a mess everywhere. Boisterous people everywhere with no staff or security to assist. My husband got knocked over by a drunk. Apparently according to a staff member we did speak to they said the chef who was here before had left and a new chef was there and you could tell. Food was stone cold and inedible. Won’t be coming back as not the nice friendly place it used to be. Avoid at all costs.

Had a few beers here on a Thursday and Friday night. Very busy both nights with a bit of a wait to get served, but it wasn't noisy or rowdy etc. The ale is very good as is the atmosphere. No food after 9:00 pm so I can't comment on the sticky toffee pudding or Christmas pudding on the menu. Hopefully next time. Probably the best traditional pub in the centre of Cambridge.

I Was asked for ID by the bartender, which of course isn’t a problem. I showed my Italian Driving license as ID, and, after several minutes of him going around asking all of his colleagues and manager, my ID was rejected without any valid reason. Never stepping foot again in a pub that only recognizes British IDs.

Mi pareja y yo vinimos a la casa de baños recientemente para tomar unas copas. Sorprendentemente tenían a Jubel en el grifo, que es difícil de conseguir en Cambridge! 5 estrellas solo por eso! Gran servicio amable y tenía algunos bocados de pollo Karragge también que eran encantadores!

Busy pub with excellent service. The squid is the pick of the tasting plates but we had a few as well as the macaroni cheese. Tables well served by the waitress in our corner. The bar staff were efficient, a busy bar but quick and friendly service service. Lots of happy people around us, enjoying the food and drink.

Great pub in Cambridge, part of the Greene king chain so predictable and you know what you're getting. Seems to have recently been decorated & painted in a very dark colour internally which is a shame as it is now very dark/dingy feeling inside. Staff are very friendly though!

The atmosphere was good. The food was pretty dire. My friend could not eat her bao buns. They were leaden and tasteless and I'm convinced that the sauce was actually HP sauce. The Mac and Cheese tasted OK but looked really uninspiring - more wallpaper paste than tasty. The Peroni was fine

You should not clean the table up while there is food still left on plates without asking customers "Are you finished?" 🫣 That's what happened with me today. I had a business meeting and when my investors had to leave to go back to London, before they left we wanted to take a picture together. I wanted to stay afterwards and finish my food as I had some left but after we took the picture and said goodbye the table was cleaned up! Don't do that please! It's not right. I even had my personal belongings left on the table for waitresses to understand I'm coming back. So it should be just polite to ask before taking dishes away.

Went out for dinner with a couple of drinks, both of our meals were lovely and the service was excellent and very friendly. It was Monday evening so it was a bit quiet but nonetheless we had a lovely time

Great old pub! Very efficient service, very good food, prices are very reasonable. Great beer, including gluten free beer which is important for our group. And! A fantastic choice of gluten free food. In fact, they have a separate GF menu which includes a gluten free sticky toffee pudding and a brownie. We happily went back and will come again
