Kirsten and all the staff were brilliant and the food…..beautiful Lebanese exactly as you would get in Lebanon and the Middle East…..amazing!

I’ve been here few times, but only to have beer or wine. Never eaten anything, so can’t tell anything about meals. Nice place just by the river with good vibe.

I don't frequent the green dragon nearly as much as I should, but this is down to my not living as close as I once did. That being said, I always enjoy a visit to this lovely place, with its riverside garden (opposite the entrance), cosy back garden and quaint bar area, it is a lovely place to sit and catch up with family and friends. The fact that it also hosted the likes of Oliver Cromwell and J.R.R. Tolkien, might add some excitement for the history buffs. This is a lovely little pub that has managed to keep all of its charm without losing its relevance which is not an easy thing to achieve, especially these days.

The Green Dragon without doubt is one off the best pubs in Cambridge. Perfect setting with their beer garden leading onto a picturesque River Cam. Ronan along with his wife give a great personal touch to their customers making it a fantastic family feel. The menu isn't huge but what they serve is excellent quality and have a good selection off lagers and ales. First went here 2013 and over the moon to be back here. Brilliant 👏

The Green Dragon might catch your eye with its charming riverside location and seemingly inviting beer garden, but don't be deceived. Once you step inside, the disappointments come thick and fast. The Guinness here is an abomination. It's flat, tasteless, and served without a proper head—nothing like the rich, creamy pint you'd expect. It’s a pale, pathetic version that does a disservice to the name. Switch to gin, and you’ll fare no better. Expect to receive a glass of gin with no tonic, making for an unbalanced and unpleasant drink. It’s as if they’ve never heard of a basic gin and tonic. To make matters worse, the staff are incredibly rude. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with hostility and indifference. Their lack of hospitality is almost as bad as the drinks they serve. In short, Green Dragon is all style and no substance. A picturesque setting can't save it from its dreadful drinks and rude service. Avoid this place if you value your time, money, and taste buds.

Great place to eat have a good pint in wonderful surroundings ether inside or outside overlooking the river in the beer garden staff and locals really helpful and friendly definitely going back there again 😎

Super friendly place and hosts. Great looking food (although we had already eaten so didn't try!) Great riverside garden to enjoy in the sun.

Nice place close to the Cam. There are some tables outside where Is possible to eat watching the river. A lot of beers available and cocktails are well done. Ideal place for families too.

The pub has I suspect changed hands and now serves Lebanese Cuisine. We went as a family group for lunch and the food was superb. The pub has a friendly atmosphere. We were inside with the area to ourselves which was suitable for us and for the other patrons. There is an outside dining area - weather dependent of course

Can not rate this pub and the food highly enough. A proper little find! The Lebanese street food was perfect in every way. Would highly recommend anyone visiting to give the pub a visit

Ridiculously overpriced. I paid nearly £19 for two (bad) Guinness and a coffee. I'm sorry but that is just not acceptable. Not even in Central London. I won't be back.

Nice pub by the river and also dog friendly!! Free parking outside on the road is very helpful when going on dog walks as well.

Lovely pub, good food and nice beers on tap. Only criticism is it’s very expensive, two beers and two packs of crisps was over £15, at them prices you only go to the bar once.

I was there for dinner with some friends a few days ago. We ordered Fish and Chips, a few pints of beer and some desserts which were quite good. The place is cozy, with a good atmosphere and a variety of beers.

This is a fine spot on any day of the year - if its cold you have the fireplace to warm your cockles, and if its sunny you've the river to sit by in the beer garden. Nice spot inside, nice bit of character to it and the staff are a nice friendly crew.

Great food but such slow service sadly. After 20 mins of having our plates cleared we were not asked for dessert or the bill so my partner went up to the bar to request the bill then we waited for another 20 mins and no-one came to take payment so my partner got up and decided to pay at the bar so we could go. We both came here last year and the service was fast and friendly so we were saddened to see this change and would think twice about going back.

Great to go on a Cambridge Utd match day, grab a bite to eat and a pint or two, and then walk to the ground! Fascinating history in the pub too… apparently a local haunt for JRR Tolkien!!

Very friendly staff. We had beers, wine and food. The food had a middle Eastern slant, was good and wholesome. We were sat inside due to the weather but the park garden by the river would be great on a sunny day. Lots of history. Definitely worth a visit .

Really lovely local pub. Huge roaring fireplace, family friendly and good food. The outdoor seating in the summer is wonderful too.

I was there a couple of days ago to have dinner and the place was fantastic. The food was delicious and the tablet just next to the bonfire was very nice and cozy. I will repeat next time I travel to Cambridge.

Great location, amazing pub with a fireplace and fire was on, nice and clean place, food came out slowly, chefs were pretty busy 'barking' out loud which at some times made me think there was a dog in the kitchen. Service was good, I just wished he coughed less ( probably he wished the same) but he was doing a free cough, wet cough. Food was ok. Interesting experience overall

Staff ignorant, uninformed and rude. We didn't feel welcomed to start with. Most definitely did not appreciate the bill being brought to the table - we did not ask for it! We won't visit again. It is a shame as our food was tasty.

Went for lunch on Saturday with a friend and her grandson. We sat in the garden by the river. Although I thought the food was a bit expensive we ordered the chicken strips with chips and a drink each. The food was delicious, the staff were so polite, friendly and helpful, I can't find any fault with this place. We will definately be going back again.

Green Dragon is a nice place to visit if you are up for a quick pint and snack grab. The staff is very accommodating as well. Also, I recommend you try their Halloumi fries/sticks!

We recently visited the pub for a few drinks before watching a football game at Cambridge United. The service was really friendly, helpful and quick. No hassles at all, good atmosphere and would definitely recommend. Thank you Green Dragon 👍

Absolutely fantastic all around. Good drink and amazing food, I ordered the mixed grill and loaded fries; ignoring that it was a sharing platter thinking it would be similar to other pubs and restaurants but the portion was massive AND delicious. The staff were more than friendly and helpful and the pub itself was clean and never felt cramped.

Went there for my husbands birthday, great ambient pub situated by the river. Staff are really friendly and helpful as well as the food being amazing. All freshly cooked and the flavours are incredible. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Used to be one of my favourites pub in city. Been there 2 weeks ago, ordered chicken wings. For 8.50 received 3 chicken wings. Dont recommend to go there for food.

We had the chicken wing starter and lamb kofta open sandwich. Chicken wings good portion size and very tasty. Lamb kofta probably the best I'd ever had Food freshly cooked.

The pub has a great beer garden by the river, but the food was very disappointing (and expensive). The lamb kofta was burnt and very dry, and the chips were cold and didn't taste great. And that was £16. For that price you can get an amazing meal at a proper Turkish restaurant. I would go again for drinks in the garden but I would absolutely avoid eating there.

Pub on the river that sells food. The pub itself is set back, but there is outdoor seating with a view of the river. Dogs allowed. On Sunday, they do a Turkish theme for food. Staff are very friendly and they make you feel comfortable. I was looking for somewhere to watch the football inside but sadly this Pub wasn't.

Greatest pub in Chesterton. The atmosphere is simply awesome since this is a truly old building. It has a great number of food options. I don't live far from the green dragon and during the pandemic the staff did a lot of help to the community. Thank guys for all those toughe times. Recommendation: don't miss the grill.

What a great pub! I'm slightly surprised that I've not been here before. It's a great location, very welcoming staff (particularly the Portuguese guy), nice beer and excellent food. The lamb roast with Turkish influences was really very good. So good, in fact, that we are coming back for Mother's Day!

So impressed with this place, I visited with 3 friends and my 2 large dogs. Instantly walked in to a quirky little pub with a great atmosphere and a roaring fire which was lovely on this cold December night. We were met with such friendly staff and although they were short staffed nothing was too much! We were doted on. Now to the food, we had a variety of starters; halloumi, chicken strips, wings, pita and hummus dip. Then for mains we shared a mixed grill, a halloumi burger and a lamb kofte kebab. WOW! It was genuinely amazing food. Overall would highly recommend to anyone to try this place, can only imagine how lovely it is in the summer sitting next to the river. We are only in Cambridge for 2 nights and we are tempted to come back tomorrow night, it was that good!! A big well done to all the staff, including the sous chef who was running the kitchen tonight. From a northerner, it was bloody banging!

What an amazing pub, we came here as it was down the road from where we were staying. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic waiter. The level of service was outstanding! Looking at the menu there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, despite being a Green King pub, the food was provided by a company called 'Stuff my Pita'. We ordered a mixed grill and a falafel wrap. The food was amazing, some of the best Turkish food I have had in a long time. The charismatic service combined with a great atmosphere and delicious food made for a great experience all round, I will definitely be returning soon!

Had a pre Cambridge United match meal and drink here with friends. Lovely atmosphere in the pub. Very friendly staff and delicious Turkish food. Fifteen minute walk away from the football ground so ideal. My first visit here but definitely not the last. Would highly recommend.

Impromptu visit to this pub early Saturday evening. Staff made our group of 5 very welcome. Superb home cooked food , albeit a smallish menu but all delicious and reasonably priced.

Was with family completing the “Our place in space, sculpture walk” and Green Dragon was listed as one of places to stop for refreshments. We were parched as other places along the route were not open. Staff really friendly, service was prompt and the food excellent. Had not appreciated that it was Turkish cuisine until we googled it afterwards. Menu was different, and first time tasting grilled water melon salad. Very well done everyone.

My husband and l were staying near the Green Dragon celebrating our 25 wedding anniversary, we popped into the pub as it was local and I'm so pleased we did. The manager was so welcoming and friendly and really made the place, we had a lovely evening and I would definitely recommend this pub. The food was incredible and when we popped back for a quick drink the evening after he remembered us and made a fuss of us all over again. Not forgetting the young lads behind the bar and delivering food, they worked really hard too.

I recently arranged an overdue meeting of friends, previously work colleagues, last meeting 16 years ago. We chose Cambridge as the best location as central for all our residential locations. I researched Cambridge pub/restaurants with gardens and found The Green Dragon situated just out of the town Centre next to the lovely river Cam. We parked in the residential road and enjoyed drinks in the garden, directly across the road, upon the pub opening at 12 noon . As there were seven of us we preferred to eat in comfort inside. The historic pub is of Turkish ownership and has many historic connections including visits by Oliver Cromwell and JRR Tolkien. The staff were very friendly and attentive with a special mention to Joao and Dan who looked after us very well. We ordered mixed grills and burgers, which were delicious - thanks to Ozzie the chef, who was introduced to us. We sat with drinks and caught up the missing 16 years over the next few hours leaving for home in the late afternoon. A most enjoyable afternoon at The Green Dragon.

We popped in here for a last minute meal and were not disappointed. Although it’s a very ancient pub with interesting history, the current chef cooks wonderfully delicious Turkish Cypriot food. It was all truly superb and we had very very good service from our waiter. We sat inside as it was a bit chilly in the garden but on a warm day the garden on the river would be lovely.
