We had a fantastic dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was flavorful and clearly made with care. A special mention goes to our server, Hafya, who provided excellent service throughout the meal. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed the 2h long lunch meal that we had outside by the terrace. We had starters, small plates, mains and desser. The staff was all, very sweet and attentive. The mussels were escepcional good! The best we had in any place in Cambridge, great sauce! Huge fish and chips from the bar menu. 😜

Booked in for afternoon tea for group of 6. Place was really nice with a great view but the service was very slow considering there were only a few other tables in there. Two in our group ordered bar dinks not on the afternoon tea menu and it took about 15 minutes to get those even with asking if they could get their drinks sooner but they brought them all out together with the tea. Rarely saw our server even when wanting to ask for more milk for the teas as they only brought one small milk. Ended up getting the milk at the same time as our bill. Food was very nice and we enjoyed it, but the lack of attention and service really takes away from the experience. It would be understandable if they were busy but they weren't.

Nice location and tasty food. We went on a sunday and the sunday lunch menu was good value. However the service was disappointing and the value of the al a carte menu was not good. I had piri piri chicken for £20 and was told it came with veg which suited. Turns out the veg was actually pureed in a sauce so had to pay for a salad for another £12.50 to make it a light meal. We were lucky we went early and food service was fine, although not fast. Other tables were complaining of waits over an hour. For such a well rated restaurant we were really disappointed, especially for the price we paid.

Good set menu, but £20 for chicken on the a la carte which doesn't come with any veg or potatoes not good value. Also very poor service on a Sunday lunchtime.

Starters were really nice, but we’ve been waiting for around an HOUR to get our mains. When linguine arrived it was tasteless and pasta was separated from the sauce. They eventually replaced it and it was better but still not really worth it. Bar staff were nice.

Located by the river, there is a wonderful summer square. I liked the service, everyone was very friendly. We ordered a table on the summer terrace, but it was cool and we asked for a place inside. It was very cozy inside. In addition, we wanted afternoon tea, although we did not specify this when ordering a table. But they again accommodated us. The presentation of the dish itself was not impressive, but everything was fresh. Among the desserts, chocolate and lemon are very tasty.

The place is beautiful with stunning views over the canal. Food is ok, no more no less. Lady who took our order couldn’t recommend anything cos she ‘didn’t try anything from the menu’ and we were present with not full meal options. I had gin based cocktail which was just perfect tho. Good for outdoor coffee/cocktail but I won’t recommend eating there.

Reviewing the outdoor dining. On a sunny day the terrace at the back is one of the loveliest places to sit in Cambridge. A short, well-pitched menu ... perhaps a little pricey but fair enough for the outstanding view out over the river. Friendly service ... thank you Khushi for looking after us so nicely.

We had lunch in garden 2 3 days ago it was a very good dinning outside and the food was amazing and I would like to thank Khushi was so friendly and she did amazing serving and she did ask for our day and it feels so respectful and pleasant.

Service is not professional. The waitress who served me doesn’t know anything about the menu. She doesn’t know what Sauce vierge is and knows nothing about cocktails. Food is not too bad but underwhelming. Side dishes are just chips and butter lettuces, no new potatoes… Stunning view though. Good for drink but not food

We visited on Monday 19 May to celebrate an 80th lunch. The food was first class for every course and very reasonably priced. I had the sea bass and was expecting a small fillet as usually served at other restaurants, but received a whole fish and it was cooked to perfection. The team unexpectedly brought a brownie with a lit candle to the birthday lady and it was appreciated by all. Samantha served us during our lengthy lunch and was very polite and helpful throughout. We'll all definitely revisit.

Had a lovely spring evening dinner at the Garden House Restaurant at the Graduate Cambridge by Hilton. The food was excellent, and the service was incredibly attentive and detail-oriented. I truly appreciated how the ambiance, cuisine, and team combined to create such a warm and welcoming experience. A special thanks to Justin for going above and beyond to make the evening truly memorable.

Left this place with a light wallet (expected) and a light stomach (not expected) after an extremely slow 2-course meal. In retrospect there were as many red flags as your average tropical beach during hurricane season, but sometimes you don’t realise these things until too late… We turned up just before 6pm for an early dinner and were seated by the sliding doors with a view of the river. Nice enough on a sunny day. We got some tap water. It was decidedly tepid. We ordered two simple mixed cocktails, which we were immediately told would take at least 15 minutes to arrive (red flag) and some starters of focaccia and melon/parma ham. The waitress didn’t write our order down, which is sometimes fine in high-end restaurants, but then got it wrong when reciting it, which is more concerning. We intentionally kept hold of the menu in case we wanted another cocktail but several passing waiters were very keen to take it from us and seemed very put out when I said we’d like to keep it. Odd. The starters arrived after a while - still before the drinks - and were fine. Inoffensive. Functional. The Focaccia was a bit dry, as if it had also been enjoying the sun on the terrace for a bit too long. The melon and Parma ham with chilli oil was nice, but also entirely unremarkable. It’s a simple dish, but maybe some extra garnish or dressing would be good? This could’ve come from the picnic aisle in Sainsbury’s. The cocktails eventually arrived and did not justify their tardiness. They were mostly ice, and tasted of vaguely alcoholic sugar water with some bitterness. I know that’s what cocktails are, but at a nice restaurant you’d expect a bit more flourish - and for them to taste good. We ordered two different drinks and they were alarmingly similar. After what I think was literally an hour - and an apology from our server - the mains arrived. Oh dear. The ravioli was swamped with various oils - not in a luxurious sense, but in a “cheese left in the sun too long” sense. The pasta itself was tough at the edges, and tasted bland - no hint of the sage. I honestly think this dish had been left to sit for a while before serving. Mini-Tesco wouldn’t give me something like this. My partner’s peri peri chicken came in a good enough spiced tomato sauce, but the meat itself was both tiny and very fatty, like a Pygmy hippo but without the cuteness factor. You know the sort of fat you get on the pre-cooked supermarket chicken breasts when they’ve been frozen and defrosted? Yeah. That. This dish also came with no sides, so you were somewhat destined to waste the sauce which was the one good bit. Sides for mains were limited to chips or a butter lettuce. Feeling virtuous and incorrectly assuming the chicken would come with at last some carbs, we opted for the lettuce. Wrong move. The dish was literally half a lettuce with a very watery vinaigrette and some sliced onions that were sad enough to have drowned themselves at the bottom of the bowl. There were also chives on top. But not finely chopped chives as in every other dish that contains chives, but 3-4 inch long sections of chives. This doesn’t work, chives need to be finely sliced. Maybe it was intentional, but it just seems lazy. Some desserts floated past us to the couple behind us and looked nice enough, but as they seemed to then spend half an hour trying to flag down someone to pay, and as we were feeling decidedly fed up, we just asked for the bill instead. The staff throughout seemed either inexperienced, flustered, or weirdly rude. We’d decided that no, we didn’t want a second cocktail so were happy to give up the menu anyway, but before we could offer it back a waiter just grabbed it saying “mate I need to take that cocktail menu from you.” Maybe not quite the tone you’d expect? The damage was £95 and a slight feeling of unease either from the copious amount of oil in the ravioli or the terrible service. Or both. Tellingly, at no point did anyone ask how the food was, and the waiter taking payment just blanked me when I commented on the slowness. I think they know…

We had a booking in the private dining space for 14 as a meal on my friends hen do. Hafya was super helpful through our prep and preordering. The team on the day were super quick with our drinks and really attentive. The portions on the pre order menu were a little small for us but overall very tasty. The room is also bigger than expected which was great because we have room to socialise too!

Samantha was a delight. So kind to have my dessert prepared to take up to my room!

Sunkissed Easter lunch! Booked last minute as the previous place we went to let us down. Lovely food, attentive staff and what a great location. Absolutely loved it. (Just a shame that the menu for outdoor dining doesn’t have as many options🥲)

We booked the private room for a Birthday party, and we were all impressed with the setting , friendly service and food. A special mention to Hafya for helping ahead of the party, with regular communication. Thank you. We will come again.

This was a return visit with friends and we weren’t disappointed. Both members of staff we interacted with were brilliant. I only remember one name - Hofya.The black gentleman was very good too.

The interiors are absolutely lovely and I would highly recommend sitting outside if you can as there's a beautiful view of the river where you can watch people punting. The main dishes were decent (I probably wouldn't put it higher than that). The cauliflower steak required more flavour. The sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I had. I was disappointed, however, when I ordered bread to share at a cost of £5.50. It was just 1.5 slices of bread. Totally embarrassing if you ask me! Unfortunately, it was near impossible to get a member of staff when needed. I generally found that members of staff would consciously avert their gaze almost in an attempt to avoid you. For these prices, I expect to be able to get my bill when I want it.

I can't recommend The Garden House enough. I had never been before, but definitely planning a few more return visits especially during the summer! They helped host my friend's Baby Shower where we had afternoon tea in one of their private dining rooms. Hafya was amazing from the initial email to being super attentive and helpful on the day, along with Samip as well to make the day go smoothly! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and commented on the decor, location and food quality!

Horrendous service. The service staff do not know how to provide service. This was not helped with very average food. Atmosphere and location is nice and that's about it.

Probably 4 something but rounding up. Enjoyed a very long Sunday roast sitting outside in the sun. Everything was fresh solid without being remarkable but again you can do so much with a roast. Service was very accommodating and friendly. Nice location and views. They should put up umbrellas on the patio though and try to spruce it up a bit. The patio of the bar is much nicer than that of the restaurant which has a lovely interior but a spartan patio.

Booked here for my husband’s birthday as the reviews looked excellent and we wanted to try somewhere new in Cambridge. The food was fine (some nice twists on some classics like harissa prawns), the service ok but the place lacked any charm or sophistication. We sent back our first cocktail as the champagne was clearly flat (how the waiter didn’t notice I have no idea) Plus, £19 for a cocktail, you’d hope the bartender could make it properly. I ordered a rhubarb lemonade and got a raspberry drink instead. I was so thirsty and it hadn’t arrived at the same time as the cocktail that I couldn’t be bothered to return it or ask for the correct drink. Given the price of the mains I perhaps expected a little more. I’d written a note in my reservation that it was my husband’s birthday and would they be able to do something for dessert for him? They didn’t. We went to Jack’s Gelato for dessert instead. We spent £120 on dinner so not cheap for a birthday dinner so it did feel a bit of a shame. Saying all of this, I will try it again in the day, in the summer perhaps on the terrace as I’m sure they have a lovely view and a drink by the river would be lovely.

On a busy Mothers day we had a delicious lunch and such excellent service. We never felt rushed even though they were so busy. Highly recommend. xx

Went to the restaurant on Tuesday went to the bar ordered drinks at the bar stayed at the bar to take them to a table and was charged a service charge for the drinks I was at the bar could not believe it this is a lovely venue but will not be going back

A lovely place to unwind at the leisure club followed by a tasty meal at the Garden House. Hafya and Josip were super friendly and professional.

Made a return trip for Bumps and Eryk and Riley welcomed me as if I was a treasured long term guest. Why would I stay anywhere else? Perfect service and who doesn’t want a smile after a long day’s travel. Special shout out to the front desk team: Emma who left a note in the room and Kamil who welcomed me.

Very disappointed with this place. We didn't even get to have our lunch here because we had to walk out from the place. The service was so so bad. We've booked for Sunday Lunch, came with a small baby and our pram, the waiter wanted to sat us in this tiny corner where the hot sun was directly shinning on the area and we have a baby. We asked if he could place us somewhere else, he decided to place us in another tiny area where it was so difficult to park our pram (given the restaurant is so big). Later on, he came back to us and asked if we could move elsewhere (which was directly under the sun again), so I asked him if we could move to the table beside us as it looks more spacious for us plus there's no other guests there right now. He said yes. We then waited for them to help us move the cutlery etc. but then the same waiter who offered that place to us suddenly just sat other guests down on that area 🙄 In between, after we were sat down on our first table, we weren't given any menu or asked for drinks to start with. Other guests who came after us had been given a menu when they sat down and the staff has taken their order and drinks. We have repeatedly asked for menu and for them to take our order, all we get from two waiter and waitresses 'we will be with you shortly' but no one came back and they went on to serve other guests who came after us. We did get our menu in the end but having to wait to order just a drink in this hot weather for more than 20mins, we have decided to take our baby and walk out from the restaurant. I never once had to walk out from a restaurant even when the service or food was bad. But this is beyond bad.

Went there after running the half marathon on Sunday, hoping for a treat then home to rest, but the service was sooooooo sloooooowwwwww. I ordered first as I was hungry, the rest of my family ordered after, but our food came out at the same time and mine was already half cold. We were sat next to the pass and can see that almost everyone’s food were sat there for at least 10 minutes before getting served. The real wait came when we asked for the bill. We asked two servers and waited half an hour for our bill to arrive only to find it was wrong! It took another half an hour to get the correct bill because the server couldn’t do it and the manager was too busy with WHAT? She didn’t try to resolve issues first but was getting carried away with other things. No order and organisation in the service, how you have face to charge for a service charge!

We were happy to have lunch by the river with magnificent weather but the service and quality of the food greatly disappointed us. Go on your way!

The service was outstanding—Mr. Elliet went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcome and taken care of. A special mention to the barman, who crafted some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had! His attention to detail and creativity made the drinks just as memorable as the meal. The warm and inviting atmosphere made for a perfect dining experience. I will definitely be returning soon!

Eryk and Oran are the best bartenders and even great hosteses. There hospitality brings the hotel business 100! Don't ever let these guys go. The front desk clerks are great! Service is great and the rooms are amazing!

Eryk at the Graduate Hotel Bar in Cambridge is a fantastic bartender. I ordered a dirty martini, and it was perfectly balanced, well-chilled, and expertly made. His service was professional, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. If you’re looking for a great cocktail and top-notch service, Eryk is the one to see!

We came for a catch up with friends, it was an absolute gorgeous setting and the atmosphere was grand. We had a great laugh with the staff Justin was our server and he tried to accommodate us as much as possible (even with some of our ice cream demands!) the food was lovely extremely filling and if we are ever by Cambridge again we will be back.

He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was outstanding, checking in regularly throughout our meal to ensure everything met our expectations including his wonderful recommendations. His attentiveness and the warm atmosphere he created truly enhanced our visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. As someone who works in customer service, I can confidently say that Eryksen exemplifies the qualities I would love to see in a team member. We are incredibly grateful for his excellent service and would absolutely return because of this.
