Garden House in Cambridge

We had the pleasure of visiting the Garden House for lunch and drinks today, and we were truly impressed by the exceptional service provided by Eryksen. He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was outstanding, checking in regularly throughout our meal to ensure everything met our expectations including his wonderful recommendations. His attentiveness and the warm atmosphere he created truly enhanced our visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. As someone who works in customer service, I can confidently say that Eryksen exemplifies the qualities I would love to see in a team member. We are incredibly grateful for his excellent service and would absolutely return because of this.

Elliot, Erik & Riley always make me feel welcome at the bar. They are amazing at making cocktails and always make my time at the Graduate very special. Maria in the restaurant at breakfast is always so friendly and helpful too.

We had a wonderful time at Garden House in Cambridge. The food was excellent, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The ambiance was warm, elegant and inviting, making for a perfect dining experience. To top it off, our server, Vasiliki, was polite and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

The best service I’ve had in a restaurant! It was mine and my boyfriend’s first visit here and not only were we impressed with the food but also the customer service. If you haven’t tried the set menu, I would recommend it highly! Although the portions are not huge for big appetites, it still filled us up! Our waitress tonight was Hafya and she was incredible. Always smiling and polite. Couldn’t ask for more.

Very tasty healthy dishes of food prepared with fresh local ingredients. The sea bream was a delight. Great service too from Hafya

The food all round was merely ok, the seabream lacked flavour and wasn't anything special considering it was literary just fish with a few leaves of salad and tomatoes on top and was meant to be a main course. The side was very small and pretty bland, considering the price. The meal definitely wasnt anything special considering the high prices. The waiting staff was disgraceful, we got seated at the table and was told by the waitress that she would be back with a drinks menu, 20 minutes later we still hadnt recieved the menu but we could see the staff having a good conversation across the room. We had to flag someone down and request the drinks menu. We then placed our food order but later the waitress came back as she had forgotten the order. After our meal we asked to see a drinks menu again, which we got only to wait 20 minutes again to place the order whilst the staff were all talking and to get the bill again, seemed to take forever. Considering the already high prices and the slow staff who were totally disinterested, they already added a £15+ service charge on our bill. Very disappointed we didn't go to Brown's where the staff are so attentive, the food is so flavourful and the prices are so reasonable. We will never go back to the garden house again.

Surprised by the high rating here. Our first error was to try and have dinner on a Sunday evening. The only food options were roast or burger or fish and chips, and they’d run out of roast! Willing to give them a try anyway but the burger was just fine, nothing too special. We ordered a side of sourdough to start with and they gave us the stingiest portion! Two very thin slices of sourdough toast.

Eryk, Oren and Elliott were just animals with the service. They were serving way more people than seemed possible but everyone got drinks quickly, a smile, small conversation and it was terrific!

Absolutely fabulous venue. We did the twighlight Thursday deal. The staff were all fabulous. Especially Elliott who couldn't have been more helpful. Such amazing service! So good that I'm returning at the end of the month 😁

We stayed at the hotel for my husband’s birthday. We had a great time sat at the bar. All the staff were lovely and friendly especially Megan and Eryk. Highly recommended.

We ate in a quieter part of the bar, so not hugely atmospheric, and we were not massively adventurous with our food, but it was all surprisingly tasty. Our 9 year old devoured the kids meal! We were served by Megan who was lovely, and extremely competent - her delightful manner made it a really enjoyable evening.

I've visited most of the restaurants in Cambridge over the years, but this one truly stands out as the best. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is delightful, the service is outstanding, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. This place is an absolute must-visit!

We booked our Christmas lunch there and were shocked by the unexpected low level/low quality of the food. Cheap stuff that no cook (I don't dear to use the word chef) with a basic level of self esteem would ever serve. I suspect everything had been bought in bulks and just reheated in the kitchen. The price paid in no way reflected the quality of the food. The venue though is charming. Never again.

Hafya and Jelwika gave us a lovely experience on our 5th anniversary with prosecco on the house. The food was great and the atmosphere was classy without pretentiousness. Only issue was that our table olives were taken away before we were finished with them, but that was not a big deal.

Wonderful meal - as usual - with the family at the Garden House restaurant. Classic dishes always lovingly done (irresistible fish & chips on Friday of course! 😉) & amazing cheddar corn bread with the delicious Butternut squash & cumin soup. Great service from Hafia & all the kitchen team!! Thank you for a wonderful, memorable meal!! 😊

Had the most wonderful birthday here, the food was cooked perfectly in their calm and lovely open plan kitchen. Didn't even quibble about my complex allergies and gave us a treat on the house as it was a celebration. The staff were so kind and hospitable, Hafya was warm and welcoming - as was the whole team. We decided to give this restaurant a try after reading all the positive reviews. However, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food and certainly wouldn’t return. The burger had a very strong cheese which ruined it, and the quality of the meat was poor. The set menu portions were very small.The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff were friendly and provided a good service.

We drove an hour from Northamptonshire to have a birthday celebration lunch and it was well worth the drive. The service from Josip was excellent,he also assisted me with my choice of cocktail , he was so helpful and the food was exceptionally good. I had the pork loin on the bone with trimmings followed by raspberry sorbet and a coffee. Loved the atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant. The seating is just how i personally like it, not overcrowded with tables so you can hear other guests conversations.If you can make a visit, you will not be disappointed and say hi to Josip👌

Had a lovely time getting tea at the Garden Restaurant with my family! Our server Hafya was very accommodating of our various allergies. Food was great and the restaurant was gorgeous and had a lovely view. Would highly recommend.

Myself and my friends have found ourselves our new favourite spot in cambridge! Not only is the atmosphere and ambience 10 out of 10 but the service was incredibly personable and we found ourselves getting carried away in conversations with both the restaurant manager Hayfa and the waiter Hemang. The two of them alone made this experience memorable let alone the food. I he's the Roast skate wing, which was just insane compliments to the chef i never caught his name but he surely knows what he's doing👌 Overall i couldn't recommend this place enough, it was a breath of fresh air to find an establishment which ticked off every single box

My friend and I enjoyed the Twilight Thursday set menu and health club access. In the restaurant, Hafyal was so welcoming and thorough to ensure my friend felt comfortable in view of dietary requirements. There was a slight delay in our cocktail order as the bar was busy but we were kept updated, and they were delicious when they arrived. Thanks also to Josip for his attentive service.

Was hoping to have a wow experience. Sadly didn't. Disappointed about the Sunday lunch menu, only 1 vegetarian option. Which was roasted veg, so our vegetarian had to have a starter. Service from the kitchen was so slowwww. The restaurant wasn't at capacity.

Took my girlfriend here for afternoon tea. Parking was free for guests which was pleasing - the sandwiches and scones were lovely and we even were given some extra clotted cream and jam to take home with our left overs. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!

Food was exquisite and service phenomenal. My server, Hemang, did a great job ensuring everything was to my liking. Atmosphere provided a great range, from being able to read a book to unwinding and kicking back a few drinks. Food was a little pricey but taste was phenomenal

I've had several days of fantastic experiences at the Garden House. I'm in Cambridge for a week for work, and have only a little time to explore. I'm a fan of gin, and definitely wanted to try some new ones in the homeland of herbals and juniper. Every night, Elliot and Riley have been helping me choose two to taste for comparison (before choosing one for a full cocktail). Elliot's knowledge of gins and Riley's recommendations have been fantastic. This experience has really made my visit to Cambridge special, in a way I didn't think would be possible given my limited time here. Thank you both.
