Great food, good pricing and staff we're really friendly and welcoming!

We were just visiting Cambridge for the day. Was drawn by the name. It was very busy with a lively atmosphere. Nice looking pub.

Nice pub. Some people were really loud but as a pub you can do much. Would return as was a fast service

Everything was fine, but my fish took a very long time. I recommend trying the ale.

I got the steak sandwich and there was more meat on a butchers pencil. It looked so sad. The bread was like a Warbutons loaf and it came cold. Plenty of other choices in Cambridge. PP

Me and my friends came to the baron of beef in Cambridge yesterday and was served by Andy (it could’ve been Andrew, we can’t remember) but he was so friendly and lovely! He made jokes with us and was very kind, along with pulling a great pint! Thank you Andy, you was great!

A very wonderful place, which makes me want to come again next time

Extremely slow service. Visited for lunch, took over an hour and half for simple order of 3 dishes from set lunch menu. Staff kept saying in would be out in a minute..When it finally turn up, the steak sandwich wasn't even buttered, missing fried onion and mustard. Pathetic. Manager gave a refund, but even then we felt disappointed and embarrassed for the tourists who think this represents a British pub.

Had a lunch today at baron and i am extremely happy with the sunday roast today. Really nice place for fish and chips.

With a visit to Cambridge we wanted as a family somewhere on the cheaper side to eat, we came across this little gem…A lovely , clean pub. Staff were so welcoming! Food was delicious ! A lovely atmosphere within and the locals were also so chatty and welcoming. Will revisit when/if ever back in the area! Thankyou

Nice pub but they had lots of very loud sports playing, I didn't mind when the rugby was on as even though I wasn't interested people were watching. When that stopped everyone left and they put football on at a very loud volume and nobody was watching

Nice location near the river, but no view of it, and opposite St Johns college.

It's a pretty decent beyond burger. Fries and BBQ sauce. Could do with a few greens. Either I'm the burger or side salad. Loud atmosphere because two lads didn't know how to talk with inside voices. Clean and friendly staff.

Famously where the fight between the two local legends that gave the world cheap computers occurred, but nothing to commemorate inside. I came and drank here for that reason alone :)

A brilliant night out we had and the place and staff were great!

Although it was a lovely, pub,unfortunately everything we tried to order was not on the menu,ie,cheese, chicken, bacon. What we finally had was brie and prussicto on sourdough with grilled tomato,what we got was rock hard tomatoes with the stalks still on them. So really need to up there game

Wandered in here for lunch and was not left disappointed. Fish and Chips and Mac and Cheese were both bloody scrumptious!! Highly recommend.

I got a shamrock on my pint of Guinness which takes a lot of skill. Great little pub. Bit small?… but still a lovely gem in Cambridge

Came here last Sunday for some light lunch and a few drinks, the atmosphere of this place was nice and cosy, staff were polite and very helpful, the service was also very quick!!! Very happy with my visit

Had a lovely afternoon visiting the Baron of Beef just off Quayside, quality location. The food was excellent I absolutely recommend the Fish and Chips, it was cooked to absolute perfection. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and welcoming championing some great patter throughout the visit. Spent the later part of the visit in the beautifully intimate beer garden. We will definitely be back, 5 stars!

We had lovely experience in the pub yesterday, we were exploring Cambridge and wanted to try different new places so we did pub crawl. Very friendly and helpful bar staff and good choice of drinks. We tried some beers and also they have some good offers on, you can get Amstel and Peroni for £4. Will come back here in some point as we had lovely evening.

Popped in for a quick pint or two last night, the atmosphere was fantastic. We were served quickly and efficiently by a friendly server, and overall would return for evening drinks, and to try the food also.

Good food at a reasonable price. Somewhat of a wait for our food, but this was mitigated with excellent communication by the new manager explaining the delay and with the addition of a complimentary drink and gift voucher. This was unexpected and well received. Will definitely return. Recommended.

Perfect sports pub in the city centre Place to go

As a parent of 2 toddlers, and as a lover of great food and beer. This place is 10 out of 10. We were welcomed through the door with smiles and it honestly felt like we were being greeted as family.

The cutest COZIEST little pub to stop into.

When in Cambridge we often pop in here for a drink and find it to be a nice pub so today thought we'd eat here....what a disappointment, when the turkey dinners came out i couldn't believe my eyes, about 6 sprouts, 5 hard pieces of roast potatoes, spoonful of peas as they had run out if carrots( were told this) no pigs in blankets until we asked, no stuffing, parsnips, asked for cauliflower cheese but were told we couldn't....turkey was the only nice thing about it and at £15.95 what a rip off. Was offered a free drink but had already had 2, my friends hubby had beef and that had all the trimmings so why missing from the turkey.???

First visit to Cambridge since moving south, found this walking away from the river. Lovely little pub, quiet night but the couple behind the bar were mint! Recommended a couple of places too so will be testing their judgement ;)

Had a bunch of conference delegates, mostly international. Wanted to walk them through Cambridge and give them a traditional dinner. The Baron of Beef could handle a group of ten, and did so most efficiently, but also in a very friendly manner.

This place needs fumigation and a DEEP clean. Totally horrid inside with so much dust and cobwebs everywhere. Unfortunately I had to use to toilet and there was no soap to wash hands or dry them. How has this place even still open after all...
