The best restaurants in East of England

Super fish and chips supper following a full day doing our house move, lovely piece of Cod, Light Crisp Batter, succulent and not at all dried out, freshly prepared and we didn’t even have to wait long, but we had missed the early trade, it was after six when we got there, Chips cooked to perfection, not soggy and a generous portion, very reasonable just over £20.00 for two portions, one of the best chippy’s I have tried, and on a par with my local one Stotts of Outwell. Lovely friendly staff, couldn’t have been more helpful, Will definitely call again

Went for Christmas meal and oh my word what an amazing place. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, really warm welcome on arrival, great tasting food. As a wheelchair user, it was really accessible with an automatic door as well making it easy to get in. Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back. Thank you everyone at St Lawrence cafe, you are all amazing.

First visit to the Crown for the wife and I. A lovely welcoming environment and absolutely delicious food on offer. Both mains of roast belly of pork and duck breast were both really tasty. The homemade Bakewell tart and locally made cherry kirsch ice cream was incredible. Also the Earl Soham Brewery Victoria ale was a perfect accompaniment to the duck. Looking forward to a return visit already!

The Airman used to be absolutely great - the food was great, the portions were big and delivery was quick. Unfortumantely, this has now all changed - the food is average, the portions are 60% of the size (and they do not include the same ingredients as they previoulsy did), and the delivery is slow at times. It is such a shame when this happens to something that was so good previously (I recommended them to so many people) - but I can see from the reviews that they are now loosing customers.

Lovely teacake! For less than £5 for a teacake and a glass of Pure orange juice is a good deal. The only negative is the limited amount of butter but otherwise worth it.

This is a genuine review, first time trying tonight, food is fresh cooked to order, fish was good, chips are banging, curry sauce nice, sausage could use a slightly bit more batter on them (personally) staff are friendly and polite will order again thanks guys well done

our club meets here every month and today we had our Christmas dinner the quality of the food was excellent as it always is but todays Christmas dinner was exceptional top quality and the service was impeccable the young ladies worked so hard and could not be faulted all in all an excellent well run pub with great staff and quality food

A very good night out, that's how I describe this place. As soon as you walk in you know it's going to be good. Lots of people in the bar, we sat in the restaurant which is lovely plenty of space and you can see the huge pizza oven. Service was friendly and we felt so welcome. Food was delicious and the beer was apparently a great pint! We will definitely be back.
