The best restaurants in East Midlands

We dropped in for beers on Thursday night and Friday night. Thursday was quiet, Friday was very busy. On both occasions staff were prompt helpful and polite. The Pedigree was good. My dog was made very welcome by both the staff & the customers.

I’ve ordered from here through Just Eat the Mix Grill Platter which contains (as per their description) 2x Lamb Chops, 1/4 Peri Peri Grilled Chicken, 3x Peri Peri Grilled Wings, Pita Bread, Fries and Fresh Salad. Waited for an hour or so and paid £22.98 (including delivery and service fees). The 3x Peri Peri Grilled Wings were actually 3x 1/2 wings, salad looked like 1-2 chopped leaf of small salad, all delivered in a small pizza box (was confused when I got the order and asked the driver to confirm it’s my order). I would not recommend anyone to get anything from here. Even the £15 at the restaurant for the same dish is rubbish. In the pictures you will see eaten wings because by the time I’ve took the picture my partner started eating it as she was hungry. My partner said the food was good in terms of taste but the rest… I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Re-review: The very rude reply from the restaurant speaks for itself! Also it’s clear from the reply that the didn’t read my review properly (eg £15 reference). You don’t have to be a farmer to know the difference between 1/2 wing and 1 chicken wing. FYI it’s the butcher who cuts them but it’s obvious you don’t know anything about it… you didn’t said anything about the “salad” or whatever was that… did the butcher cut the salad? 😂 You are not a farmer, you are not a butcher, and trust me you are neither a chef or whatever you think you are. Close the window on this nonsense!😂

Arrived 3 minutes after closing time, knocked hopefully on the window, asking hopefully for a bag of chips. They unlocked, and I left soon after with chips, sausage and curry sauce! Very kind and lovely food!

So so, honwah was shut so I tried here, fish, chips, pie and gravy 16 pounds, was OK, waited quite a while and yet I was the only one in. I think next time I'll wait for honwah to open.

Just left this lovely little restaurant. First night back open so very quiet. My husband and I both had boneless jerk chicken, rice n peas, slaw and festival. Food comes in sharing portions. Small but so very tasty. Also very filling. I really recommend a visit. The staff are so lovely and friendly. Thank you Mae and team xxx

I took my Irish Setter Judi to celebrate her 12th Birthday. The bar lady was wonderful, a special mention has to go to the Chef/Cook. I’d ordered 3 Sausages for Judi, the lady came out with the order, and said that the meal was a Birthday present for Judi and No Charge. My precious girl Judilicious Died on the 20 January 2025.

Called in for lunch on a Saturday. Booked a table, but no need as lots of space and we sat outside. Never seen a pub with 3 specials boards. I had the salmon filo pie and it was great. Friends had minted lamb pie and fish and chips. All very good. Plenty of parking. Access to garden flat. However access to the bar is down 3 steps with a rail. Access through side door has 1 step up.

The best store in Northampton for sure, the workers are like family to me. Can never go wrong coming here
