Went tonight for a birthday meal. The staff were extremely polite and the service was fantastic. The food…… the food was brilliant. We had the lasagna, best home made lasagna I have had in years. The other meals were just as good. Chicken and bacon stack, hunters chicken. All cooked to perfection, all dishes were served in generous portions (talk about value for money). The atmosphere was lovely, music playing but even with the tennis on the TV, it wasn’t noisy. A very warm and welcoming venue. Thank you so much for our lovely evening.

What a great country pub! Turned up when they were busy but they still managed to accommodate us! Awesome meal for £8! The bar staff are lovely!

Best Pub in Crowland by far. Always a warm welcome and a great choice of beers. Only 1 real ale at a time usually but always perfectly kept and served. Highly recommended.

Lovely local pub food waa lovely and a really good price

We stopped off here for lunch on our way to Mill Farm Lesiure in Wrangle Bank. The landlord was very welcoming and brought us the menus. The food was good home cooked food and plenty of it for a very reasonable price - total cost for lunch was £20 including a pint and a ½ of larger shandy - bargain if you ask me. If you are looking for a friendly place to eat and have a drink, give the George and Angel a go, you won't regret it.

The staff in this pub are really welcoming. They serve delicious, basic pub grub at incredible prices.

First time visited these premises, we had 3 guests who were family. I was embarrassed by the front foyer which had obviously not been cleaned or swept for a long time. The one page menu came with about 15 meals listed, but when the waitress came she read out about 6 items that wasn't available, other than 1 all chose the chicken and to be fair that was quite reasonable. When we asked for the dessert menu, we were told to wait while she see what was available, on her return we were told there were no desserts as were waiting for a delivery. Not happy and very embarrassed. This was last Thursday 16th June, and I am sorry but this was regrettably true!!

The landlady if very friendly and welcoming the landlord is a bit old but a nice kind of fella but don't ask him to play whatever he likes on the jukebox unless you like PJ and Duncan or Sonia no taste in music whatsoever, food is very well priced so are the drinks ,a bar and a lounge football pool darts ect

Very much a local pub with a clean friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome for visitors. Had a few pints here over two visits. The first time three elderly ladies on the table next to me had the most ginormous portions of food. So big I was sure that I wouldn’t manage a third of it. It’s the right place to go when you very hungry. Indoor and outdoor seating. Just opposite the Trinity Bridge that goes to nowhere. Real country feel to being here. Highly recommended. Loved this place.

We visited this pub for lunch. We had not pre booked as we had been on a boat trip and happened upon the pub when looking for something to eat and drink. They made us welcome and were happy to serve us due to us being a small family. Our dog was welcome too. We sat outside as weather was nice the food was really good and at 2 meals for £12 was a great deal for families. The staff were lovely they food was very good and generous portion. Definitely recommend

We were on our way to Lincolnshire, and stopped of at Crowland, and found that the original venue we were going to was closed !!! So we went into the town, and found this really nice pub. The locals were very friendly and jokey, and the barman was polite and helpful.We ordered our meals, just basic standard fare, but reasonably priced. The meals were cooked to perfection and very nice. All in all a good experience, and we would visit again. No complaints at all. A typical English Pub

Popped in for something to eat before we had a long drive back to Scotland. Great service and big portions, we only had one course as we were all full up afterwards. Definitely recommend it

The Pub is a very British boozer come eatery. Perfect if you want to experience an authentic country pub atmosphere. The food is very good and the portions are generous. The menu isn't overly extensive and lacks in the Veggie area. Something that i would expect to be well catered for these days. Anyway i digress they have a good choice of wines , beer and spirits. The staff are very friendly and helpful giving good information about the produce and its local suppliers . All in all a very nice place with a great atmosphere for lunch anyway not been there are night yet !

Enjoyed an excellent steak pie, mash and vegetables with superb Doom Bar ale in this modest and relaxing pub.

We have been visiting here a few times just recently. As a couple and then with our youngest daughter. With our son and middle daughter and then with the oldest, her husband and our youngest grandson. The quality of food is outstanding. Having had a few visits we are able to comment on quite a few dishes. Be warned! The portions are generous but they also offer lighter meals at lunch times. A nice touch is that where chips are mentioned as accompanying your meal you can also choose the alternative of jacket spud or mash. The jacket potato is stunning, fluffy and incredibly difficult to leave any. Here, I must mention the people that staff the bar and eating area. It is a very welcoming atmosphere. Attention to detail is good. Say for instance you run out of napkins or the children need extra cutlery it soon appears, despite you not even asking. Cleanliness must also be mentioned here. If you are travelling alone or with pals or family. I recommend you book ahead. The quality of the food is fresh and cooked to order as far as I can see. Thanks to the team xx

Stumbled across this pub whilst out with friends! Plenty of choice, usual pub grub and a few extras! Nice friendly staff, massive portions at a very reasonable price! Would definitely go back again! Apologies for the gap in the cucumber in the picture, was so hungry I made a start before taking the photo! It was delicious!

Stopped off with some friends who live in the area. Did not know what to expect. On entering i was really surprised it was very light and airy and felt lovely and fresh. The staff were very friendly. We looked at the menu and it was extensive of the usual pub food, but also a special board. My wife had the meat and potatoes pie. I went for the special liver and bacon. The meal came out hot and plentiful did not have room for a dessert. Will visit again when in the area. Good offers on the menu if you buy 2 meals from a certain selection.

The George and angel never disappoints, always a good homemade meal served by helpful, friendly staff. Went there recently to catch up with family visiting from London, and all were impressed, and full of compliments. We will definitely be back.

Just had melt in the mouth liver and bacon for lunch. Plate piled high. Staff very attentive, couldn't ask for better service and food. Too stuffed to try the desserts.

A nice atmosphere here, quiet and friendly. I have seen, but not tried yet, their food and it looks very good. All their prices are reasonable and they have some good beers.

El comenzado era langostinos en una salsa de vinagre balsámico insípida, el plato principal era cocidas, así cocidas no pude comer mi pescado. El desierto era más allá de pobre. Sólo así que estábamos pagando y dejar de ir a casa nos preguntaron si todo estaba bien. Así, nos comentó sobre los peces. Inmediatamente una llamada fuimos al personal para preguntar si alguien había visto el pescado volver a la cocina sin tocarla. Piensa en esto, porque nuestra interpretación fue que no nos cree. Una disculpa simple hubiera sido agradable.

Visitamos para una comida familiar, la comida era excelente comida casera tradicional patatas incluso caseros. We had a good Sunday lunch the vegetables were all fresh, the meat was cooked well,for after we had brownie and cream it was the best brownie I have had in a long time, the staff were also friendly.

We have been here several times recently. The food is good and the staff do everything they can to make sure you enjoy it. Will be going back regularly.

We recently stopped in at the George and Angel in Crowland. It is a lively local, with regulars and those who have come from a distance. In fact, on the day we visited, there were customers in for a meal who were attending a wedding at a different venue. How popular is that? The Front Bar is bright, painted white with black rafters, and a has a very clean welcoming feel. There are a dozen or so tables, and the meals served are well presented, are large in portion, and are excellent value for money. The landlady is very friendly, hard working, and very professional. The staff are equally welcoming and are chatty with regulars and "visitors" alike. The Back Bar offers the usual "pub entertainments" and the whole establishment is very much worth a visit if in the area. Highly recommended.

Visited this pub on fathers day, we was greeted by polite smiling staff, we was offered a choice from 4 different meats. When the Roast dinner come it was hot and plenty of it, it was good to see a good sized homemade Yorkshire pudding on the plate. Would highly recommend food here the Sunday dinners are £8.95 each or two for £16 a child's being £4.95 with free ice cream. After we had eaten mains we opted for desserts and again they was superb definitely worth £3.50, from start to finish the service was great, will definitely eat here again.

The food was ok, but not much of it and very very plain, the menu was very limited, the bar staff were lovely but the toilets OMG ever flat surface was coated with grease to stop substance abuse ( they may be making a stand against drugs but oh poo not a place for children )

A few of us went for Sunday lunch £8.95 each or 2 for £16, we were not expecting too much for that price but were very surprised to be offered a choice of meat and then a plate full.. Roast potatoes, mash, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, parsnip and Yorkshire pudding – great value and service, we would all recommend and go back again.

We live across the road and had our dinner here one Thursday evening. The food was yummy and the service was good. There's lots of vegetarian options.We wish we could take the dog in though...

We travelled the short distance from Peterborough & visited this pub the thursday before Good Friday with friends. What a great place this is, a lovely traditional pub, clean and tidy. We ordered some food which was bought to us with a minimal wait, proper home cooked pub grub at very reasonable prices. Once we'd finished the table was cleared quickly, I also noticed as soon as drinkers vacated their table & it became empty it was cleaned and wiped down ready for any new customers. Julie and Graham have worked very hard at raising the pubs profile and in my opinion have done a fantastic job, well done! I've heard the Sunday lunches are fab but have yet to sample these, so I suggest if you live in Peterborough you take the short journey to Crowland and sample this little gem, it's much better than the 'chain' pubs that are popping up everywhere. Keep up the good work.
