Lovely pub. Well worth a visit.

We have been 4 times for Sunday carvery & each time the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly & helpful. I have also been for a lunchtime meal twice & cannot fault them at all. Thank you red lion.

Dropped in on the off chance we could get a table for lunch staff were so welcoming and happy to help . Food was amazing we loved it coffee was hot and lovely had a fabulous lunch . Absolutely lovely staff we will definitely be back thankyou for looking after us

The new management are improving the place every visit, we're usually in ruskington 2 or 3 times a year. They serve good food grub, tasty and well cooked, their staff are nice and competent. Overall it's good to see them doing well.

Just had a lovely Roast Dinner. Staff friendly, food has that home cooked taste. Will definitely be back

A Tasty Experience at the Red Lion Pub in Ruskington I had a delightful lunch at the Red Lion Pub in Ruskington today, indulging in their Wednesday special—pie, chips, and peas with gravy. The portion was impressively generous, and the flavors were spot-on. Despite a slight wait for our food, the friendly staff kept us well-informed throughout. The no-frills, traditional pub food menu hit the mark, making a return visit likely. Cheers to good food and a welcoming atmosphere!

Called for a pint yesterday meeting up with friend's ordered a pint of Doom Bar and was asked for 4.95 i queried this but was told that was the price i walked out and went to the Shoulder of Mutton, Doom Bar 3.90 an pint so theylost the trade of me and my friends

Great pub, nice atmosphere and good selection of beers

Pub was freezing, food was just warm. Jacket potato was soggy and black and tasted like old potato. Fish was like it was out of a supermarket value frozen packet. Table service was poor with no checking how things are so didn’t get chance to complain during meal. Food arrived then had to wait for cutlery.

Good place for a pint but if you don't drink and love Pepsi max they don't have it, as pumps don't work and haven't for a while.Not tried the food yet.

Sunday lunch, set at a table so small just inside the door. Hardly any save for dishes etc. The comment was ' we have a big party arriving later' Needless to say we ate our first course excellent veg but chewy beef. We felt uncomfortable so paid up and left. We were so disappointed after the previous reviews for the pub . A return visit is most unlikely.

Pub nice staff friendly ordered fish and chips with mushy peas I wouldn’t give my dogs the fish it looked old and from a supermarket cheap and nasty.chips and peas where ok

Super find. Not posh nosh, pub grub but well cooked, good sized servings and very nice staff. The prices are amazing and they couldn’t be more lovely if they tried. A proper village pub in rural Lincolnshire. No pretensions but good wine, good food and great ambiance. Steak was great. Gammon spectacular. Food cooked fresh to order. Couldn’t manage a pudding. Starter was a good portion and cooked perfectly. Food arrived fast. All in all a fabulous find.

Good point of Timothy Taylor's landlord. Priced very reasonable. Menu looks good and fair price but didn't eat this time. New landlord introduced himself which was nice, good luck to them.

Nice little pub with friendly bar staff and great service

I am a member of a walking group, we started and ended at the Red Lion. We pre ordered our meal requests about 9:45, then headed off into the wild. Great service and great food at very reasonable prices the staff efficient and friendly.

Good to see this place back open again. Had a great evening, enjoyed the live music to. Will definitely pop back when next visiting the area.

I have visited a couple of times since the pub has been under new management for drinks but not yet tried the food. My first visit I sat out front in the courtyard with my dog and some friends and we had a fair few drinks with prompt and friendly service. I returned a few days later in the evening to sit indoors with my wife and friends and again the service was prompty and friendly, I didn't bring the dog on this occasion so cannot comment on how welcome or unwelcome they are indoors. There was live music and the food I saw coming out looked decent, no doubt I will be back to try it soon enough as the menu was very tempting. The only reason i've marked down is because I was given the wrong drink on one occasion and there was no alcohol-free beers available on my second visit.

Having been there for a drink in the garden at the first stage of coming out of lockdown we chatted with the new landlord who told us that he would be welcoming dogs into the pub once we were allowed indoors again. So, base on this we walked down to the pub with the dog and our visitors on the 21st May in the early afternoon for a drink only to be meet at the door by the same landlord who had previously told us that dogs would be allowed in, we did not even get a foot in the door and were that no dogs are allowed in this pub. So we went the Shoulder of Mutton who weclomed us and our dog with open arms. We won't give him our money going forward and will not recommend it to anybody!

Modern village pub with a good variety of food and drink. Long standing family ran. Ideal for birthdays christening etc.

Andrea who owns the pub is a wonderful host,she will do anything to help you,the food is amazing with a set menu and a specials board,which changes regularly and offers great food,the menu for over 60 s is value for money too,my family and I enjoy the the quiz and if you haven't been I recommend a meal here

Basically just okay nothing special

Great roast dinner, was so tasty and good portion sizes. Puddings are amazing and would definitely recommend coming here! We will definitely be back! Ava our 20 month old loved it and will be coming back for seconds of the vanilla ice cream and cauliflower cheese! X

We have just finished an absolutely great meal. The food selection is what I'd describe as a 'pub classic'; the menu is varied and quantity is plentiful. The staff are very friendly and there are plenty of places to park. The pub is ideal for couples, families and large groups. In summary, we will be back!

Visited in a Sunday for the first time in years for a quick bite to eat. I was immediately struck by the great, friendly, service. Well priced and varied menu noted, and then the food was served. Really impressive, tasty, and well-presented. Really worth a visit - you will not be disappointed!

Stopped here with friends for lunch . Slightly nervous based on the limited and not necessarily favourable reviews but very pleased I decided to give it a go . Had a rib and chicken combo with friends having wings and the empty plates said it all . Would definitely return if in the area .

We had a meal at the pub for my dads birthday. Service was very good and friendly. I had the pigging out which was great value for money and a very generous portion. The pork was a little too tough but the gammon and sausage were nice.

Visited this pub with family for a nice evening meal , but that was a terrible mistake! Service was abrupt , the food would've been fine if it wasn't served with free flies!!! There were no fly zappers around at all in the location , also you could understand a fly or two getting in through doors being opened etc but there was atleast 15 or more flying round our food , flying around us etc and we were seated next to the kitchen,when it was mentioned to a staff member they just shrugged their shoulders and walked off , not offering to re-seat us to a better area, and when the children's desert came out the children didn't want it due to seeing flies land on it !!!! We were seated next to the kitchen which was a busy area and narrow access but when we booked we we informed them we had a pram but seated in the busiest traffic area and then scoffed at due to the pram being there !!!! I'm suprised there were no fly zappers around as even normal high Street food outlets who serve any food have them to keep there areas as hygienic as possible. Maybe the pub needs a new visit from the local authorities with regards to hygiene. To say the least we will not be returning to that venue again when we next visit family that way.

Visiting family so decided to go out for an early dinner before the World Cup match. Took a while to arrive but the food was good and tasty and reasonably priced. We had a dog with us and were asked to eat in the bar area which wasn’t a problem so consider returning on next visit

My sister's pub, great drink and food, good company.

We stopped in on a Friday lunch time for a bite to eat after a local dog walk. The bar lady identified two areas we could take our quite large dog into whilst we ate although we chose to sit on the fully fenced off beer garden which, as we were the only people out there, was perfect for our dog to explore as we enjoyed our food. We had baguettes with chips. The bread was clearly fresh, the ham thick cut & tasty, the chips were cooked to perfection. Good service & reasonably priced.

Stopped for a quick lunch on way to visit friends. Friendly welcome with good choice of beers and a couple of ales. We had a fab 8oz Rump, lovely lasagne and a Chicken BBQ sizzler. All were fresh well cooked and really good portions. Can thoroughly recommend.

Called in on a Saturday lunchtime, food was fresh, hot and tasty, there was a good selection of both pub favourites and some more unusual dishes. We had the steak sizzle , yummy. Service was friendly and quick. Beer was well kept. Looking forward to my next visit

Booked a table for six people and a baby for Sunday lunch on Sunday 19th November 2017. Just moved to Ruskington from Wiltshire, didn't know the area so looked on Trip Advisor and read the reviews on this pub, so decided to book. We were not disappointed in respect of the welcome from Andrea and the attentive service from the staff. The food was excellent and plentiful and we unanimously agreed that for the price and service it was outstanding. Three members of the party were late but had no affect on the service. Very accommodating under the circumstances. We wanted to give an overall rating of five but there was nowhere to change the babys nappy and it had to be done in the back of the car in the carpark. To be fair, we didn't ask Andrea if there was somewhere on the premises we could do this. The acid test is would we book again, undoubtedly a resounding YES. Well done to all for making this first family meal out in Ruskington a success.

We visited The Red Lion on Sunday 1st October with out Aunt who has difficulty with the foods she can eat. They went out of their way to accommodate her and were very customer focused. it was very much appreciated by us all. The food was to a very good standard and excellent value. Well worth a visit.

I personely have never been able to falter the Red lion, & thats with 53 years of personel experience, very friendly.

I came here with my family, lovely meat, especially the chicken, stuffing is lush and the Hot Chocolate Fudge Cake is just heavenly!

We went in with my father and stepmother for an evening bar meal. There is ample parking and a nice little beer garden to the back. The bar is roomy, the atmosphere pleasant, the bar lady was just a hoot, very welcoming and funny.

Called in for lunch on a Thursday. Pub was very quiet. Open, airy atmosphere. The pub and the loos were nice and clean. The meal was scrumptious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

It's a warm and friendly place to go. The foods extremely good at a reasonable price. You're made to feel welcome. It has out door seating as well as in door. Children friendly and it has an enclosed grass area so the little ones can run free. Highly recommended

Called in following our fish and chip feast next door and found it to be most agreeable, with friendly staff and excellent ale. It's comfortable and warm, having a large open bar and lounge area and only nostalgia for the chippie next door prevented us from sampling the food which was recommended to us by friends who have eaten here.
