Windmill Farm in North Kesteven

Really great place to stop off at after a busy day at the coast. Me, my daughter and my mum all had a carvery and ordered 2 XL pepsis between us and our bill was only £28 which is great value because the carvery was excellent and the pepsis are huge. The staff were wonderful and friendly especially the lady on the carvery deck and the chap hosting. All round a great experience. The cherry on top had to be the little play area we could see it from our table which meant I didn't have to leave my food to watch my child

Good pub food. Rather family atmosphere. Quite a few staff. Very available. Their cakes are huge!

Excellent meal on arrival staff very friendly & helpful Unfortunately when we went to our room just after 9:15 we were directly above the function room & we could hear every word the dj said & the bass was booming out WhenI complained to the duty manager at 10:15 he apologised & said it would be finished by 11:00 He did ask the d j to turn the volume down but it made very little difference What infuriated me was he asked if I had read the terms & conditions before I booked as there was a disclaimer in them You shouldn’t have to search through minutiae for information like this it should be in a clear spot on the front page of the hotels information I eventually found a sentence stating there MAY be some noise in some rooms when a function is on THAT IS NOT A DISCLAIMER Rooms above the function room should only be let to people attending the function A perfectly good day ruined & the music is still going on after 11:00 I would recommend the restaurant but definitely not the hotel

Had steak and curry cook well, enjoyed the food. Food delivered fast and hot . Love coming to windmill farm , greenkings are without a doubt my best places to eat haven't come across one that I don't like . Staff are friendly and always helpful

Not a lot to say I popped for lunch while waiting for a car service and staff were friendly, food was good . Got a bit noisy near lunchtime but that's not the pubs fault! I would definitely use again.

Amazing food beats Toby Carvery we have in Kent, super selection of fresh veg, wish Toby could copy your model, Louis was very welcoming and showed us straight to our seats, we hadn’t booked . I can’t see how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars . Will return if we every see one again on our travels

Our family called in on our way home on the chance of a table, we were greeted with happy bubbly hosts who happily accompanied us, food and drinks where well priced, we all had carvery which was well stocked and hot. It was a pleasure to visit Many thanks to your staff

We regularly come to Windmill farm and the service is always really good! The staff are excellent, especially Felicity. She is fantastic with our kids and food is good too. Will come back regularly.

Another great carvery, huge Yorkshire pudding and tender meat. Good choice in veg too. Too much for me I had to take some home.

Don't order breakfast for delivery. Wow, bacon was raw, toast was still bread, sausages like leather, not the greatest quality of food used. Genuinely the worst breakfast I've ever ordered.

Was staying at the budget motel across the car park so this was the obvious place to eat. Friendly staff, good beers and wine but the food was average at best. Steak and ale pie lacked any actual meat. Veg (roasted carrot) was stone cold. Chips were good and fresh but the whole meal was basically chips and gravy. Mentioned it to the on-duty manager but he just grunted an apology. I get that it's delivered at a cheap price but why not just charge a bit more and actually deliver some quality. Such a shame

We had the carvery. It's was absolutely delicious. You can have as much veg as you wish. Then we apple crumble and custard with a scoop of ice cream. Absolutely amazing. The waitress Diane was very friendly and helpful. Very clean environment. A must for everyone.

Really lovely venue. Nice polite staff . Reasonably priced . We have a 9 month old daughter . They had a bottle warming facility. Which we haven't seen anywhere else. A small child's play area . Definitely going again

Diane is such a lovely waitress, very attentive and welcoming lady! Want to give credit to the gentleman who sorts the carvery, always spot on! Lastly, Ian has been so helpful, would highly recommend coming here!

21/04/24, ordered food today, 35 minutes later asked waitress to check where it was, when it finally arrived it looked like a starter or child's portion, when I tried it all food was cold, I was asked if I wanted a replacement but every one else had nearly finished, and took so long the first time, I declined, when I asked for for refund was told 24 hours to put money back in my account, only took a few seconds to take out !! On a positive the staff were very good. Spoke to very nice gentleman called Lewis and all resolved, I have eaten here several times before and always been great, thank you.

Travelled to meet family there half way between homes . Table booking was easy , we was welcomed by a friendly member of staff , food was beautiful and it’s my sons birthday tomorrow so he got to take home a free slice of cake !

We were a gang of about a dozen, we were welcomed and attended to by Rachel, who could not have been more attentive. The carvery was very good. Surprised to see zero alcohol lager on draught and we were not rushed off when we had obviously finished.. So in all a delightful afternoon.. Thank you..

Brought food out really quickly tastes good, and the cakes are really nice

Breakfast very poor this morning, mushrooms were extremely dry, eggs were awful, bacon was chewy, the service by Diane Hallam was brilliant as always, she was fantastic and looked after us well, bringing us fresh mushrooms and eggs.

We go for the sunday carvery on a regular basis as it is (normally) quite good and I can use my blue light card discount. This Sunday (14th April) to my surprise, Farmhouse Inns/Greene King have decided to stop this discount on Sundays (only), poor decision imo. Also, how is it justified to charge £3 more for the standard carvery on a Sunday when the same carvery is available every day, pure corporate greed.

Very pleasant place for Sunday lunch. You go up and pay and then get a ticket that you hand in at the carvery. Quite a long queue but it was Sunday lunch time and it moved along quickly. All the food trays were very well stocked and plenty of gravy and sauces at the end. Waitress service was excellent from checking food was all ok to quickly clearing away plates once we were finished. Everywhere was clean and tables cleaned very quickly once people had left them.

I’ve dropped a star rating mainly on personal preferences. Our visit was 2:15 pm for Sunday lunch. It was very busy, a sign of its popularity, but we had booked a table and no issues. Paying for the food was quick and easy. The range of food from the carvery was extensive and as it was self service, you can pick and choose which items you wanted, leave out the stuff you don’t like and pile on the stuff you do, and as much as you can handle. The food was of a good quality with nothing to complain about. I’ve dropped a star purely down to not being keen in getting into a long queue to get your food and the ambience wasn’t up to that of a pub serving Sunday lunch. As is said, personal preference so I can definitely recommend The Windmill Farm for a quality Sunday Lunch where you won’t leave hungry.

I've been in here a couple of times and it's always a pleasure never a chore. The carvary is really good and the young chap Scott was very attentive and that's the facts. I will certainly be coming back thanks for a lovely lunch.

Wow! We have been to many farmhouse inns but this is by far the best I've been to. The restaurant itself was very clean and there was a great atmosphere inside. Diane and Lauren were amazing and the customer service was outstanding. I honestly couldn't fault them, so friendly and professional. Kev on the carvery counter was brilliant and again really friendly and helpful. The food was a much higher standard than we were expecting. The carvery was beautiful. The beef was perfectly cooked and we enjoyed all the vegetables especially the cauliflower cheese, roast potato and roasted parsnips. The dessert was delicious too. Really pleased that we went

Our interaction with most of your staff members was appalling - moody, rude and full of attitude. Everything was an effort!. Especially at the bar. Breakfasts prepaid - tried charging us, told we had no reservation. Dumped our plates and walked off. Till slamming because one day serving shots and the second day being told they don’t do shots. Other than 3 members of staff the rest need a reality check on customer service. Made it abundantly clear we were all an inconvenience. Food was spot on despite the above.

Firstly let me say i don't usually bother with any reviews as the not so good ones don't seem to get published anyway That said. We arrived at 6.15 on Sunday evening, we're shown to our table, no problem. Decided on the Sunday lunch. 1 Was informed at the bar Blue light card no longer accepted on sundays. Even though on the website it states that it is accepted every day, no exclusions % discount... not today. Qued up as usual, busy as you would expect, fine. Then... 2 the beef was so tuff we had to leave it on the plate. The slice of pork was fine. 3 think they had forgot to put the cheese sauce in with the cauliflower, and it was dry and more hard stalks than cauliflower. 3 no duck fat cooked roast potatoes, I can only assume they take too long to prepare. ?? 4 smaller parsnip were quite tasty, honey roast?, larger ones were harder the bigger they got. 5 the carrots again the larger they were the harder they got. I realise there is a lot of food to prepare and cook , then to get it out to the counter ect ect. But im sorry to say that I will not be going back any time soon. Very disappointed.

On entering the building was greeted by a happy, and friendly member of staff who showed us to our table. All of us chose the carvery and had extra pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings... Nothing short from amazing! Everything tasted like it was cooked to perfection and with a wide range of meat and sides to add to the plates so we all got something different we liked. All the members of staff we had spoken to were all extremely polite and helpful and it created a lovely atmosphere. Will be coming again !

Carvery was good. Diane and lecky provided excellent service - even suggested maple syrup with the leftover Yorkshire pudding!

Buffet food was barely warm even at breakfast, and breakfast coffee was luke warm, by the time you'd sat down and started eating or drinking it was already turning cold. Obviously hot bsr is not hot enough. We stayed the night rooms looked clean but, I found out later the floor in the bathroom was full of dust as I was wearing a jump suit and it got caked in dust and fluff. We also had trouble trying to flush the toilet as the button just was too hard to push in, I gave up and left it for my husband to do. The rooms are fine but bathrooms not ideal for disabled as toilet too low and un flushable, also there's no shower. Plenty of room for a wheelchair to go around room but not in bathroom. If you are gluten-free they do warn you there can be cross contamination but my husband had a gammon meal which for some reason isn't on the gluten-free menu. Which you can only access through Wi-Fi, which can only be accessed upstairs as there is hardly any wifi single downstairs, they really need to sort out there menu. They already have v for vegetarians but no gf for gluten-free. So all in all the staff are very Friendly and helpful.

Long wait for food which was just warm when arrived so had both replaced. Second time food was lovely. Serving staff very apologetic. Been here quite a few times before and 1st time this has happened. Carvery was busy at the time.

Nice food. Reasonable prices. Carvery was delicious, more expensive at weekends, I dont see why that is necessary, same food, same people !!!! Second evening chip were cold. We complained and were compensated with fee desserts.

Monday night impromptu dinner out and was really impressed. Food is pub fayre and nothing pretentious, but tasty and good portions. We chose off the menu but the carvery looked well stocked and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave good service. Prices have gone up a little but still excellent value.

Always like going to the windmill, service is always great, and everyone is very helpful Tim was great. We were a party of 3, 2 had carvery and the other had scampi and chips. Carvery was ok not the best one we had there no horseradish but not end of the world!

I ordered a burger, and it was cold. Veggies in the burger seemed to be cut and exposed for long. It wasn’t pleasant at all.

Good service. Carvery was not particularly hot and some of vegetables looked soggy. Yorkshire pudding was fantastic and the slices of meat were good quality. Good choice of vegetables. Reasonable for midweek price lunch

The steak pie and mash was delicious. The veg was all cooked to perfection. The buffet breakfast is also belly busting.

Food was very good and it was served in a reasonable time. Anthony was brilliant. In particular, when it came to dessert, he offered to take the order directly. When I got mine, I asked for 1 scoop, but he gave me 2. Thank you for the pleasant experience!

Had such a lovely experience. Came in for breakfast with my parents for my mother’s birthday and the food was lovely. The staff were so welcoming especially one of the team leaders who gave me & my mum some cake with it being my mums birthday & mine next week. Really lovely time. Highly recommend

When we arrived just 2 other customers.Breakfast buffet,what can I say the fried eggs were plactic hash browns were like sponges full of oil as was the black pudding,no mushrooms no marmalade no coffee machine it was a disaster
