The Stone Arms in North Kesteven

As soon as we walked into the Stone Arms, both my wife and I, was greeted by the waitress/bar maid, who was so polite, charming and very welcoming. She showed us to our table and even though we were early, as our names were reserved the night before, there was no concern so we ordered our drinks. There was no rush to order, and the place was full with customers both in the restaurant and the bar. Our starters arrived and were lovely, fresh and delicious. We ordered the small Sunday dinners (small they were not), they were cooked to perfection with the cauliflower cheese sauce to die for. I was so full that I elected for a coffee. My wife ordered the apple crumble for dessert (I did taste a small bit - very yummy). All in all a wonderful experience. Staff were very lovely and so polite. Smiles all around. In my opinion, and I have been to all the restaurants in Lincoln, it was the best and we both thoroughly recommend you book. My only issue? ? Parking! The car park was full. But plenty of side streets to park in. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to thank the staff for hosting my parent’s 60th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday. We were incredibly well looked after by friendly, welcoming staff from the booking stage right through to leaving. The food and service was excellent and really well managed considering the number of guests and their diverse ages. The garden area was perfect for the younger ones. So thank you and thoroughly recommend.

The ale was totally rancid! It was off, cloudy and tasted like vinegar, also how on earth can you change what you do for a pint? Nearly £5.50 for a disgusting off pint !!!

Lovely, friendly local pub. I've been here a couple of times now for work meetings. The manager/owner, Ben, has been so helpful with seating us in a perfect space where we can go about our meetings in complete privacy. He has also taken food orders in advance. The bar lady is very pleasant and the service was both personable and flawless. We have all really enjoyed our meetings and look forward to many more in the future should Ben be happy to have us 🤞👍

We had a wonderful lunch here with our family (9 of us) on Easter Sunday. The welcome and care from all the staff came through from the first phone call to make the booking to the last goodbye. We had drinks and menus brought to us outside in the sunshine and then taken through to a lovely dining area (where our 3 dogs were also welcome). The food was amazing. We all had a Sunday roast with loads of veggies and cauliflower cheese on the side and could not fault any of it. Dessert selection was mind blowing and all too irresistible. What a gem of a place.

When we got here they said that no tables were available for food (Easter Sunday) My husband double checked and they said they would look to see if they could squeeze us in as they were very busy. They couldn't do enough for us. The food was delicious. We're not local but if we're in the area again, we'll definitely go back.

Excellent and above and beyond. I would like to share my experience with you. I don't review or post, so this is a first for me, but I felt it was an absolute must. Last week, I booked a table for Sunday lunch explaining a preference for a quiet table due to my husbands health and pending surgery. The Manager, Paul, was extremely accommodating. When we arrived the two ladies Zoe and Kelly were attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a most enjoyable meal and couldn't find fault with anything. This week, I have a friend staying with me, since my husband is in ICU having had heart surgery and I was in need of some tlc. On arriving at the pub both Zoe and Paul came over to say hello and enquired about my husband and sent him their regards. Wow, how amazing is that. This is only my second visit to the pub and I was treated like family. Needless to say, the food and service surpassed Excellent. An absolute gem of a pub, now that I have found it not only will I be returning at every opportunity but will also highly recommend to others. The beef Sunday dinner was absolutely delicious. We were advised by friends who had previously dined here that the small was plenty so we had small. My word they were stunning and lots of it. It was a treat to have cauliflower cheese on the side and a nice big gravy jug was a wonderful addition. The puddings were also lovely and a decent size, you certainly won't have empty tummy's when you leave here. The reason I have only given 4 stars is that the service was so slow and we had to go and find someone to get us the bill, and also £2.65 for a pint of soda water is absolutely extortionate. Nearly everywhere soda is free or at most 50p. I'll bring my soda stream with me next time! On the whole though we had lovely food and a lovely time.

AVOID THIS PUB Added comments to correct the response from the pub: They try to charge much more than the website declares and they don't tell you this until after you've eaten your meal. This is accidental miss-selling and in my case was only corrected after a bizarre discussion with the manager. The manager attempted to manipulate us with a sob story about the cost of living, which is irrelevant to the error they made. We are all living through the cost of living crisis but if we make an error in life, we must still do the right and adult thing. The process was as follows - we checked the website and prices and we're happy to proceed on that basis so phoned up to reserve a table. The person asked to book our order at the time over the phone but didn't declare that they had changed the prices. At the pub we were not shown a menu or told anything about the price change so we ate our meal (which was alright other than the rock hard £1.50 stuffing) and we were then presented with a bill that was considerably inflated over the website declared prices. That's a simple error that can occur and must be compensated for, which it eventually was. The problem is the irrelevant and inappropriate sobstory response from the manager. I have the right to review the experience, regardless of any conversation that occurred. I had given 3 stars but reduced it to 2 based on the attitude problems of the manager. We will obviously never return to this pub. There are many superior options to choose from. Original review: Food is alright, but not at the new prices. Also, there's very little atmosphere to the place.

The wife and I ate here last week and had two (of the three options available) Sunday roasts (one lamb and one turkey). They were hot and tasty, and very generous portions. Service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back (tried to book again today but obviously too late as they had no tables available by the time I called). They were even able to provide a gluten-free Yorkshire pudding for my wife. And the xmas pudding and custard was a excellent way to finish the meal off. They even had a nice (not too syrupy sweet) alcohol-free cider. Highly recommended.

Absolutely faultless and amazing food. We ate here as a group of 12 on new years day. We were staying a mile away of a family vacation and this place did not disappoint. I would even make the 1hour drive to come again. Fantastic staff who could not do enough for you. We thoroughly enjoyed finding this place as will be back.

We were stopping in the area and was looking for a place to eat later Sunday afternoon. I looked at the reviews and decided to book. I phoned 2 weeks prior to our visit to book a table for four at 3pm, the girl asked me to phone the weekend before our visit to let them know which meat we were wanting that was fine so week before we ordered 2 small lamb and 2 small beef. We were concerned that we should have ordered the large meals. When we got there it was very busy and a lovely pub. We were told where our table was and we sat down. The meals came lamb yorkie pud mash potato roast and a roasted parsnip looked delicious. Then the veg came 1 huge dish of green beans,carrot and cabbage and 1 dish of cauliflower cheese we were thinking it was between the four of us which would have been plenty but no another 2 dishes came. Everything of the meal was so beautifully cooked one of the best sunday roast we have ever had. The staff are so lovely and friendly they made us so welcome. We will use this pub again when we are in the area. We liked it so much we recommended it to another couple.

From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the host in a warm, comfortable dining alcove. A good choice of ales quickly served, gave us the opportunity to peruse the menu. Sunday Roast for 7 soon arrived at the table, every element of the meal cooked to perfection. For desert, two of us opted for large helpings of Sticky Toffee pudding and were blown away at receiving a piece the size of half a house brick! Totally delicious! Very many Thanks Stone Arms team, we hope to visit again soon.

We popped down to The Stone Arms for an early tea after work yesterday and it was fab. The welcome was so friendly, service was brilliant and the food was lovely. There was plenty of choice, so tasty and portions were generous. It is evident the team there really take a pride in their service. In times where we need to support our local businesses, this pub is really worth a visit.

We were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and friendly welcome. Although a limited menu there was a goog selection to choose from. I had a beautiful medium sized piece of fish with a generous potion of chips very well cooked and served with mushy peas. My friend chose the Ham chips and peas. The ham was cooked to perfection and was easily cut with a normal knife. We both enjoyed our lunch and would recommend this establishment to anybody wanting lunch or dinner.8

Service was very good, food was also very good and big portions. Not a lot of choice for vegetarians. The specials board was also a nice addition. Overall a very nice meal.

Service was friendly but food was poor and expensive for what it was. We had a ham and mushroom pizza which was small, ham looked old and was hard, some Jalapeño bites which were not what I was expecting and were pretty gross. Fries were OK. Very disappointed that the management felt it appropriate to contact another member of our party to raise their objections to my honest review, even questioning why we tipped the staff if we weren't happy. We tipped the staff because they gave us good service despite the food that we ordered being of a poor quality and disappointing - that's not their fault. It's not difficult or expensive to make a pizza appealing as proven by all the other pubs around Lincoln who have managed to do so. I have no axe to grind, I was giving an honest appraisal of our experience. I'm sorry that you don't agree.
