The best chicken burger & chips I’ve had

Best service ever, super friendly. Fills up proper and big portions. I had the chicken burger with chips and would definitely go here again

On our way to a football match, so stopped here for lunch. Shated a portion and everything was freshly cooked and tasted good.

We have ordered from here a few times now and we're hoping there standard never changes as the food is amazing,we haven't found a chippy like it. This time around I had trouble ordering when it came to putting in my address,said they don't deliver here but I rang them put the order through with them and then because they only take card payments online had to go back online and the call handler has sorted out the address problem almost instantly. The handler was very polite and respectful. Five stars all round

Great Fish & Chip shop. The name "Captain Kirk" is a pun on the Star Trek character. Reasonably priced and immaculately clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to assist the customer. One of my favourite food items, on occasion, are Saveloys. Alas, Captain Kirk had ran out. I just love the taste of Saveloys. Parking is easy and secure.

Service was smashing, polite gentlemen serving. Served quickly and efficiently. However the food was appalling, the chips were not nice and the kebab was awful, thick, rubbery very hard to chew and swallow. Nope I will not be going again unfortunately. This isn't the first time really foods not been up to much, but some of the time food is nice especially the kebab but just not this time.

The fish was cooked fresh and crispy. The potatoes are delicious and the portions are satisfying for the price. The workplace is very clean and tidy. Since there was no parking problem, it was a perfect place for us to have a pleasant dinner. I'm sure I'll want to taste it again.

Nice person and nice food his name Deniz . We had two small fish and chips ,one for my nanna one for my dad. I had scampi and chips which was good .I usually have chicken nuggets and chips. We all ate the food it was great.Deniz is a really nice bloke and always smiles.

Make sure you get charged correctly Ordered chip,sausage and curry mix & pie chips and peas and got charged £15.60 when the price on the menu was completely different

Turned up today at 1:40 and they were shut ! Sign on the door says 2pm close no additional note saying why closed early . Waste petrol to drive to feed the family in the school holidays and ended up with no food .

Amazing food I had the chicken burger, it was full of salad and just the right amount of sauce. Really lovely staff very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely go here again. My husband loved the med chicken kebab. Daughter loved the pie,chips and gravy. Thanks a lot 👍

Went at 5pm tonight and ordered £20 worth of food for me, my wife and my 3 kids. Excellent service, polite staff and the food was exceptional, we ate it all, even my kids finished all theirs which is a feat in itself.

Friendly staff but food quality isn’t great according to price , wouldn’t recommend .

I think they were trying to refill the ocean with how much salt was on my chips and sausage. Made it inedible.

Great tasting fish and chips. Generous portions, quick and friendly service. Parking next to fuel station and shop but not many places. Fish is cooked fresh so obviously have to wait a little, but worth it. Price increasing for size of fish, but is so everywhere.

9£ for a donner kebab and a can of pop , sorry your taking the p!ss, portion was pathetic. Food was pretty good to be honest , however I'll not be back in a hurry

Absolutely diabolical prices when ordered on Friday June 3rd I believe thru Uber, £5.30 for curry and chips , £9.25 for a fish , never again x

So many times we have passed this place and thought how nice clean and fresh faced it looked! So this week we decided to place an order! I can only say we was so disappointed…. While we was ordering I did think it was quite expensive but thought mmmmm it must be good! How wrong we was!!! We ordered donor kebab chips and a cod… it arrived on time but I feel it was very poor quality!! The Kebab was tasteless cheap quality meat, the cod was so small and thin, it looked like a sprat!!! The batter peeled off as I took the paper from off it, the chips where ok, just acceptable! I really think it’s very expensive for the quality we received!! I don’t mind paying high prices for quality food, but not for cheap quality!

Not a good experience sadly. Batter on fish was rubbish. Oil needed changing. Overcooked fish made dry and inedible.

This is a great local chippy. Clean, tidy, tasty food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Small or large meals. Decent choice.

Expected alot more from here, but the fish didn't taste fresh and was very dry and tasteless. Chips was definitely not fresh. I'm afraid I won't order again 😕

Very tasty food and staff are very friendly. I'm from Kent, but my daughter lives in the Ilkeston area. So far my experience of the local takeaways, hasn't been great, but Captain Kirks was terrific....."Beam me up Scotty, I'll be back!"

Lovely chips, large haddock isn't as large as some other chip shops but the batter was crisp and the fish was good quality.

This is the first time I've ordered from here and I would definitely order again. Delivery was on time, portion size was more than ample, the food was not greasy and very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Got home with our order to find an incorrect meal. Called up and at the time couldn’t have been more helpful and offered to refund the meal in full as it wasn’t worth travelling back to get it remade as the rest of the order would’ve gone cold. Still not had the refund and it’s been over a week 🤷‍♀️ the food we did have was pretty poor, cold, chicken was chewy and grisly, portions not the best for the price. Only been twice and won’t be going back now 👎🏻

Great chippy very clean and modern

Sadly when I had got down the road we found the pig in blanket (battered sausage and bacon) was found to to stone cold in the middle. This is really dangerous and all meats like this should be temp probe checked before serving. Not good enough and worse we waited for it to be half cooked. I will not be going back and hope I am not I'll but 1 bite can be enough.

Good news is they accept cash! In all honesty this place ain't bad. The chips arent the best but you can eat them fine aswell as the battered sausage. Not too bad at all! Bit pricey though for what it is as I paid £4.25 expected to be around £3.25. Never the less I would visit again.

1st time visited.. food was excellent.. when we phones to order it was nearly closing.. so couldn't get all what was wanted.. but the gentleman was really nice as put in free fish cake to say sorry.. defo be going again

stinks of piss and you can smell it even in the co-op.chewy chips and very salty fish,they covered it in salt and vinigar and i said no and they still put it on.so it was all soggy when i got home.

Quality fish and chips served by polite staff and at low prices, plus ultra clean premises in a modern minimalist style decor . There are ample free parking spaces for your vehicle , but it can get busy at tea time as it has a very good reputation for quality of food and quick service and at prices to match , the ideal stop for a chippy tea to take home . Highly recommended by locals and visitors alike .

Had haddock and a piece of cod with small chips. The Food was delicious and freshly cooked. Excellent service. Tonight had a kabab and again was fantastic and excellent service. Will always go there when next in Area. Fantastic.

Food is always bang on from there I always get a mixed kebbab on nan for me and the missis and there to die for really big too! Very clean place salad always crispy and fresh too and nice friendly staff as always

Nothing compares to the fish here! So full of flavour and golden. But the chips on the other hand are next to tasteless. The gravy is very runny but I guess that's how most people like it now a days. On the up side the place is spotless! I've never seen a cleaner chippy in my life and its obvious that the owner takes pride of the shop.

Passing by earlier today, I popped in and first thought - how clean the place is, no odour and a clear priced menu. A sign of any good chippy, you have to wait for the fried fish. I ordered my meal, cod with chips & peas. Best price I've seen, when last week I paid close to £1 more in Ilkeston for same high quality meal. The fish was delicious, wrapped in crispy odour free batter. The chips & peas were a perfect portion for this growing lad! Would I buy here again? Yes I would! Friendly staff, & I hope his cousin has got over the recent thrashing from Liverppol FC!

Possibly the worst chips i have ever had. Haddock wasn't bad, quite nice in fact and hot but the chips tasted like they were part cooked several hours previously and then WARMED up to serve. Dry cool and stodgy. Nobody else in the shop at 19:30 so possibly not the best time to call. Won't be finding out.

£4.25 for battered sausage chips and beans, I don’t think so, went round the corner and bought the same meal for £3

Shame the meal was spoilt- I asked for yoghurt mint and chilli sauce on take away chicken tikka meat When I got it home the chicken was swimming in sauces - shame as the chicken I did manage to eat was delicious.

I have tried multiple food choices from here and I have loved everything I have had. I would recommend the chicken burger and chips, or the freshly cooked fish and chips! I also love how no oils or batters are mixed so it is gluten free and vegetarian friendly.

I go here at least once a week when I finish work late , food cooked fresh & always very tastey especially the fish,it's nice to have things cooked while you wait,rather than being sat warming under a light,visit & enjoy.

Went in for the family meal deal. Freshly fried fish, the chips were great, nothing was greasy. The price was good. They’ve stolen my business from my usual chippy. Keep up the good work.
