The fish and chips here were nothing short of disgusting. Used to be much better

Rude owners and disgusting food, really gone downhill since been taken over. Wish the bloke that ran it before would come back such a nice guy. Chips tasted oily and burger was cold. Sort it out.

Good quality fish and chips in town with good portions at reasonable prices.

Found the chips were not very hot. Mushy peas were not the same fish was okay not like it used to be £12.20 for fish and chips and mushy peas a lot of money not to enjoy it

Ordered a chicken nuggets special and pita bread ( for delivery). When my order arrived my chips were missing! All that arrived was chicken nuggets and a pita bread, the tray of chips was not there. I tried to ring you to ask where my food was however there was no answer for the 30 minutes that I tried to ring! What’s the point in called yourself a chip shop when you forget to send the chips! I will not be using you again!

Really fancied fish and chips, not eaten it for a while. I ordered a large fish, chips and peas, it was over £12. I was expecting something pretty decent for that price. The chips and peas were really tasty, but the fish was average. It was not large, more medium size, the batter was thin and soggy and for £12 really not worth the money. I will not be having fish from there again. However, chips were good.

Worst chip shop I've ever been too. Used to love this place but since new owners it's horrible. Just went tonight for first time in months after several terrible times. Thought just try again. £8.80 for a cold chicken kebab. Will never eat there again. I'd rather starve

We go every Friday. Always consistently lovely fish and chips. Update 01/09/2023 to the old posting above. I understand that this chippy has changed hands and unfortunately the quality of the food has plummeted. We stuck by the chippy for weeks hoping that the food would improve but, unfortunately, it is dire. The fish can be tough and the chips are so mushy. Like mash spuds. Such a shame as we used to hold this chippy in high esteem. Portion sizes are good, but, it's no good if the food isn't up to scratch.

Ordered food but was then told it was cash only, so I didn't experience food.Chips got tipped back where they came from.

New owners are rude , no manners and not welcoming the only one that was good was the young lad who works there . Soggy mushy chips will definitely not be going back

I used to live near to this chippy and it was always consistently lovely. Never had a bad fish supper. I used tonight for 1st time in ages because I moved away from Long Eaton. I ordered fish bites and chips. The chips were not nice, overcooked and brown. The fish bites were almost cold and batter not crispy. The meal was just about edible as I was hungry. The staff looked different and the guy I remember was not there so it looks like a change in management. Won't travel to use it again as it is not nice. A real shame

Excellent customer service, great food I always see the queues outside the door. Live very local however never tried it until last week and I couldn’t wait to try it again! Definitely will be ordering again!

Bad, Binned the lot and not that warm either . I must have had the dregs of the chips and the batter was hard on the fish. Nearly all the chips were the edges well done and hard and almost cold. I would rather have none.

The fish and chips were that bad we binned the lot. If it were not for the fact that we had had a very busy day I would have took them back the chips were hard and mostly the edges of the spuds and the batter was hard and neither were that warm. Very disappointed. When we went last time they were not good but gone from bad worse . Will not be wasting my time and money going here again.

We are lucky enough in Long Eaton to have at least two excellent fish and chip shops. This is one. The staff are efficient and friendly. The food is great. The prices are right. It's on a bus route, and you can also park on the road outside. Was run by a lovely Greek chap but recently taken over by Indians, who have maintained the high standards.

Quality food served by a friendly team with reasonable prices for the quantity of food. Recommended.

Really nice, great flavour. Would have got 5 starts but found some fish bones and accidentally swallowed some little one. Would have posted pictures but wasn’t giving me the option to.

Just had fish and chips from this chippy Always had a lovely meal from here, but sorry Not tonight I asked for 2 large fish cod, and a portion of chips got them home not sure if its cod or not, very small fish when I asked for 2 large no taste the fish was hard and not nice at all the chips weren't the best either sorry will not go back again its a shame as its always been lovely but now it's been taken over as I only found out tonight. ☹️☹️

Ordered from here a few times and now everytime the delivery takes longer and longer to arrive. This time we were given an ETA that passed. I called and spoke to a female who said it was on the way, a while later my husband called and spoke to the same person who said she was just finishing the order off and then said there was a (fictional) car accident and that was what was delaying it. Still no delivery i called again spoke to the guy in charge and i said to cancel the order he was very rude and verbally abusive to me, both very rude people. You'll never get your food on time. Avoid,avoid,avoid

Closed early on a friday of all nights! Got there at 9 and the doors were locked. Closing time said half 9 on the door and on the website. Very dissapointing never ever going to attempt it again as the staff are rude and lazy

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. I had a small portion which was far from small. Chips, crispy and hot. Fish was outstanding, fresh, cooked to perfection, with light tasty batter. Best I've had in a long time.

Long Eaton has a few really good Fish and Chips shops and this is one of the best. Staff are friendly and work fast, the fish and chips are consistently fresh and tasty and generous portions. Queues when busy but service is fast so it doesn’t matter.

The last time I wrote a review for this place I was greatly disappointed in how much I felt they had gone downhill... However, since visiting here again a few times recently they've really upped their game and they are back to the service and quality they were when we first started using them. The portion sizes for the chips are still very small, however they taste good and the fish is also lovely, the staff are really friendly and will have a chat with you while you wait so for a chippy tea on a friday night or any night I would recommend this fish bar.

Lovely Big Flakes Of Fish in Lovely Crisp Batter. Mainly Cooked as You ask for it, so Chips and Batter Sausage are hot and Perfect. Better than George’s and Codswallop ! OK not the range of the latter but it’s such Value for money.

We have been going to this chippy for about 2 years, every time we've had food it's been spot on and portions are more than ample. Prices are very reasonable and all the staff are very friendly. Only down side is they dont open on a Sunday, but everybody needs a day off

I have tried there Fish Great 100% Chips Great.100% Kebab. Great 100% Mushy peas 100% Gravy 100% NOT That expensive. From what I could see it's very clean. You even get receipt. Great portion sizes, very friendly staff and excellent food. Have been coming here most Fridays for quite a long time now. The whole family love it. Great choice of the usual fish/chips stuff plus kebabs as well as burgers. Some good vegetarian food too.i just love their chips, really crispy and dry not running in oil. Would highly recommend.

Although the serving staff are very friendly and obliging, the fish frying owner lets the side down. I asked for lightly battered fish and he told me that the batter was thin enough and refused my request. Having bought some only the day before, I did not agree. When I pointed out that his was the first F&C shop ever to refuse to prepare lightly battered fish, he ranted about the fact that he already had fish fried and was not prepared to fry extra until that was all sold. Needless to say I didn't buy the thicker battered fish. Instead he was a few £ lighter in the till, and has lost a few customers as a result of his grumpy "can't do" attitude.

Very rude aggressive owner. We received one portion short on the chips we paid for and the curry sauce had leaked from a split polystyrene container. When I called in to mention it the woman owner was downright nasty. It's such a shame because the previous owner and all the staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful. but we shan't be ordering from there anymore m

We have stopped going to the other main chip shop in long Eaton in favour of the fish bar on college st. Much bigger portions, a regular chips feeds 3 adults well. 3 Fish coujons is as big as a piece of fish. We have a lovely dinner for under £10 for the 3 of us. Food good, staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
