My wife and I have eaten in this wonderful pub restaurant more times than we can remember.
The food is always superbly done. Great choice, excellent quality ingredients from the finest local producers and a chef at the top of his game.
Richie is a great cook, host and owner. Accompanied by a superb group of bar and restaurant staff, it is our go to haunt.
There's no wonder people travel from far and wide to eat here.
A great pub in a wonderful conservation area village.
Long may it continue
I really hate leaving bad reviews and in most cases I just vote with my feet and not return.
This place however, should come with a buyer beware warning.
I popped in here a few weeks ago and still have lasting memories about how awful this place truly was.
I ordered a battered sausage and chips and a can of coke.
The sausage was one of the cheaper end of market chip shop styles with dark grey mystery meat inside. Nothing about it would make you ever want to order another.
The magic of this chip shop was prevalent in the chips, the center peice of the meal....
This has to be the only time I've been to a CHIP shop and not only did the chips looked cooked to within an inch of their lives with the outside of the chip being an mid-winter,fallen leaf shade of brown, upon biting in to them, they were rock solid and under cooked in the centre.
The best part of this meal was the can of Coke to wash away this greasy and dissapointing meal.
As a rule of thumb Ill always try somewhere 3-5 times before leaving a review, this place has unfortunatley been a 1 and done, never again.
If your still reading this and want something positive to take away, try Nickos Fish Bar on the other side of town.

Absolutely love Taj. We’ve been a few times as a family and the food and service is excellent. Really friendly and the two girls serving are friendly and knowledgeable the food never disappoints.
A lovely evening spent at Nottys. Relaxing, comfortable seating, attentive staff, great atmosphere. Best place in Market Deeping for a chilled evening with food. We had the cheese board for 2. Booking advised.
Stopped here with the caravan and a motorhome for New Year’s. The pub was closed prior to New Year’s Eve and there are no others nearby to choose from. We booked for a meal at 6 o’clock. Several options were already unavailable even at that early time as they had run out. There was karaoke on, however the bar is very small only three tables which were reserved. The majority of the pub being dedicated to meals and in different rooms. This meant that unless you squeezed into the bar the karaoke was pointless. The guy running the karaoke had very few people skills maybe he had just started up. We had booked for the following night but they contacted us and cancelled.
The campsite could be so much better which a little bit of care. The facilities were very basic. Not an issue however they appeared not to have been for the duration of our stay. The pitches were a good size with electric hookup and water. It was just the poor organisation at the pub and the lack of cleaning etc that let it down. You have to try new places. Not always a good find.
Friendly staff, very nice food and very good value for money
Went as a larger group as a family not knowing the pub only recently moving to barwell, no issues and definitely going again
8 of us came here for birthday and anniversary celebrations on a sunday
They had a wealth on till 4pm but also our booking at 5 had a variety of chicken of starter and main 2 courses for 20 quid.
It was quiet but maybe down do the weather, the food was tasty and staff friendly and helpful.
I had the peri peri skewers and you could have rice or chips , the food was tasty and well presented

Love it!!! A shining beacon in the local area!!!
Found this lovely bakery on the way to a site visit and there was a fantastic range of options available at breakfast.
So good I got food for my dinner (that's much to any southerners) too!!!
Thank you ☺️
Excellent Gluten free afternoon tea for my special birthday. Good knowledge of cross contamination from friendly staff. Highly recommend, will definitely be back. Thank you
I adore ice cream so this was a great place for me and my grandchildren. Bonus was the children's play area. We had cornets, and they had gluten free ones too!
We went for Saturday lunch. When we arrived we was told it was a 30-45 minute wait for food the pub was empty. But a few tables sat outside with kids. We ordered something easy. Ham egg and chip. After waiting the time they said our food arrived. The chips was cold and the egg looked like it had been sat for 10 minutes.
They had an inflatable assault course for kids in the garden which is a great attraction for people with kids.
But I wouldn’t advise going for a meal !! 🤮
