Butlers Pantry in Derby

I arranged for The Butlers Pantry to provide dinner for an Army Officer Reunion in a rental property. From my initial contact to the dinner served , a first class experience. Dietry requirement were all taken into consideration. I would highly recommed.

The Butlers Pantry provided an incredible buffet for 20 family & friends. Communication before the event was prompt & professional. The good arrived on time. The presentation & care taken over the food preparation was perfect. It tasted fabulous & there was a wonder selection. Plenty for guest to take some home. We will definitely use Butlers Pantry again, Thankyou so much for helping to make my husbands 60th perfect.

Amazing food and service by Ralph, Helen and the team from The Butlers Pantry for a joint birthday party held for family and friends with 180 guests. Excellent food, presentation, service and communication. Everyone commented on the high quality of the food. A low hassle, seamless experience. Thank you.

We had a Celebration BBQ for my Late Husband David's Life . The BBQ was set up under a Marquee in the groundsof Heathland Grove by the canal in Findern. In view of inclement weather we had the use of Heathland Grove indoors as well as under the Marquee outdoors. A perfect venue as David so loved his BBQ's. So, many thanks to Heathland Grove for that as well. The BBQ was excellent catering for approximately 50 guests. Myself and quite a number of guests new Ralph and Helen from his days catering at David Lloyd in Derby, so it was really good to catch up with them both. All of our guests said that Ralph had done my husband, David, proud and he would have so loved the BBQ. BOTH THE FOOD AND THE SERVICE WERE EXCELLENT. I know that this is a late review as it took place in June 2021 but after reading some of the unfavourable reports I felt that I had to reply with a very well deserved report.

What a great service we received from Butler’s Pantry whilst staying at Shepherds View, an Ashbourne Self Catering venue. You made it very easy from the start of our booking, ordering from the wonderful menu, the staff who came and cooked and served us and then cleared away without any complication, it was just brilliant. We all really enjoyed our meals, what a treat it was. We know how hard it is to work in another kitchen when catering for so many and even harder if you've never been in it before! We will be back next year to the same venue and hopefully you will be able to accommodate us again. Once again many thanks for a wonderful meal and fabulous service.

As we couldn't go out to celebrate my son's birthday I ordered an evening meal for delivery, for two people from Butlers Pantry. Ralph delivered it on time it was still hot and the food was delicious, the meat was so tender it just melted in your mouth. Everything was cooked to perfection. I can thouroughly recommend Ralph at Butlers Pantry for all of your catering needs. I am hoping to book Ralph again soon to organize a BBQ for me to celebrate my husbands life.

I can’t thank the team enough for how easy they made the whole experience. We booked a bbq for a hen party of 16. The chefs arrived early, cooked beautiful food and served us all quickly. Every guest commented on how lovely the food was and having the chefs there to cook allowed us to enjoy ourselves without worrying about the cooking. We had a set menu each and every item on it was lovely - much better than doing our own bbq! Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

We booked Ralph and his team to do the catering for our drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening buffet. From the first meeting Ralph put us at ease and was very prompt and clear in all of his communication. He adjusted things to fit our preferences and left us feel confident we were in safe hands. On the day Ralph and his team were fabulous at helping make the day run like clockwork and the food was absolutely fabulous. We had many compliments from guests that it was one of the best wedding meals they have had. Would not hesitate to recommend Butlers Pantry. Thank you for all your hard work and helping make our special day so perfect.

Potentially very good but you need to get everything down in writing. Ralph promised us he would be there, which is why we booked him for our wedding. Sadly, he did not turn up and hi team were incredibly poor. They didn’t know what they were serving, food was minimal to the point where we ordered 16 pizzas from the man down the road....which were thankfully very good! Such a shame!

I attended the Wood Pigeon Workshop on Wednesday evening and what an experience! I am completely new to this and was initially very nervous about what to expect and how to cook game. However this was super from start to finish, I was made to feel at ease straightaway and I learnt so much but had such fun at the same time. So much so I cannot wait for the next one - so thank you to Ralph and the Team it was absolutely incredible. Oh and I should mention the food tasted amazing, so if you managed to get me to do that then you are doing a really good job! Thanks again Kate

I have attended several BBQ’s locally catered for by Ralph at The Butlers Pantry.Also attended BASC ‘Taste of Game’ evenings locally which were very enjoyable and informative too.I then booked onto two evenings at Ralph’s premises (one being a cooking workshop) which I too thoroughly enjoyed.So many tips on cookery and help and advice on recreating the dishes at home.Serving wild fantastic food to myself and my friends,we talk about it amongst ourselves for weeks when we come home.Great food served with passion.Excellent polite staff and nothing is too much trouble.Highly recommended.

Catered my daughters wedding recently - Absolutely appalling. They paid £5000 for food that was basic to say the least, shabby and poorly served. Chicken, salad, bread and sauces. The top tables food was at the very most no more than £20.00 worth in total! The company did not even have to supply dessert as this was supplied by a guest (thank goodness) When a complaint was made the owner shouted at my son in law and started to make accusations, none of which were true. THis company is to be avoided

I hired Butlers Pantry for a home celebratory BBQ and I what a fabulous BBQ it turned out to be. From making the first enquiry it has been an absolute pleasure dealing with this company. The team on the day of the BBQ were superb, they arrived bang on time, were very polite, professional and did a truly wonderful job. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and served at exactly the time I had requested. I can highly recommend the chicken on skewers and the cumberland sausage. I personally am not too keen on sausage but I enjoyed this so much, I returned for another! I will certainly be recommending Butlers Pantry to all family, friends and colleagues and would not hesitate to book them again for any future events. A BIG thank you for making the day so memorable.

We took 24 Brownies for a cookery demonstration at Ralph's facility. What a fantastic evening Ralph gave a very informative talk about where food comes from particularly game and the girls where asking lots of questions which were all answered at the right level. He then went on to fillet and smoke a trout , cook pigeon breasts, and a loin of Roe deer venison. He went on to make a smoked trout mousse and pasta with smoked trout and asparagus using the trout he had just smoked. Every girl tried every dish it was unanimous that the pidgeon and venison were delicious and all but 2 loved the smoked trout. Ralph's pasta dish topped with a fillet of smoked trout and the mousse was devoured. Thank you Butlers pantry for a wonderful evening and for the wonderful food.

We used Butlers Pantry for a large family celebration in a holiday house- sit down meal for 18. The food was delicious, the service excellent and they dealt calmly with guest delays. Gave a fantastic start to our evening. The planning and communication was all excellent also.

We had Butlers Pantry come to our event to cater for 20 guests, the food was outstanding and loved by all. In addition to this, the service which was provided by the staff was amazing! We have used Ralph at The Butler’s Pantry on two occasions over the past 12 months and both have been a fantastic experience. Firstly, in August 2018, for a private dining experience for a birthday celebration, for which he prepared and served a beautiful meal, accommodating both vegan and dietary allergies with ease. Secondly, in Feb 2019, for a buffet selection, again for birthday celebrations. The food was fantastic, with great variety and ample quantities. The prices of both options were very competitive and Ralph is a delight to deal with. I can wholeheartedly recommend Butler’s Pantry for any occasion.

Just received the best meal experience. We rented farm buildings to celebrate an 80th birthday. Unsure of local restaurants or their ability to accommodate our party of 14 and a baby. Butlers Pantry were amazing and gave us a night to remember. Do not hesitate to book them.

Ralph and his team supplied and deliverd an excellent, personal and professional service for our wedding in June 2018. This was a tapas and sit down cooked wedding breakfast for about 40 and buffet for the evening for about 100. All the food was excellent and served very politely and efficiently. Ralph was very helpful from the minute we first spoke with him to the collecting of hired furniture after the wedding. He answered all queries promptly to put our minds at ease and we felt he knew what he and his team would need to do to make our day as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Ideas from menu to table layout, corkage and serving of our own wine all included. We cannot recommend Ralph and his lovely team enough, they contributed to making our wedding day something special.

I cant recommend this company highly enough. Ralph was quick to communicate on every occasion and dealt with my many many requests in a timely manner. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

We have been a few times to the Bistro at Mickleover and on every occasion the food has been wonderful. The staff are welcoming and efficient, Ralphs enthusiasm and knowledge about the food he cooks is really genuine and he cooks it to perfection.

Ralph infused his love of game into a superb menu for my daughters wedding breakfast. The food was perfectly cooked and prepared. Our guests were delighted by the interesting and tasty dishes. I was thrilled with the way Ralph supported our wish to give guests a memorable experience. The food was great and the game elements were a wonderful conversation matter too. I can't recommend Ralph highly enough. One tiny niggle was the slight lack of experience and dexterity of the waiting staff - but this was quite insignificant in comparison with the fare served.

Had the big 9 item breakfast and it is big !, top quality and value at under £9. Very friendly service too. Lunch menu looks inviting so will return soon. Well recommended

Came here early December, it was lovely but I had to be honest we felt quite rushed in the end, we went to sit down (unusually the place was empty) and they asked us to sit at a table near the window we ordered the full breakfast and whilst waiting for it I had to move as it was too hot near the heater, the breakfast came and it was beautiful, we noticed a few people calling in and being told that they could have a "quick" drink but the restaurant was booked for a party and they would be here very soon, the lady then started to try and set the tables but in a loud voice kept complaining that she couldn't as she needed another table (meaning ours) I did ask if we were in the way and she very nicely said no as that is why she had sat us in the window but then I had changed so messed her plan up, she was lovely about it but I did feel pressured to eat up and go as quick as we could especially as the guests started to arrive and the tables had not been finished.

I visited this place for breakfast with my mum and a friend. My mum had already eaten breakfast early,so she had a tea cake. This was lightly toasted and came with a portion of butter and a pot of jam. Myself and my friend both had a bacon and mushroom baguette. My friend asked for no butter and well done bacon. It arrived as asked for. The bacon was very tasty,has were the fried onions. The menu isn't expensive. My baguette,the tea cake,a pot of tea and a latte come to under a £10.00. This is a small cafe/restaurants and probably seats about 22 covers ,so gets full quite quickly. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a toilet upstairs, so if you have problems with stairs, beware.

Stumbled on this little gem of a restaurant on a very wet Friday morning. We were greeted with a lovely welcome by 2 very nice ladies. Ordered a 4 item breakfast from their extensive menu, plus tea and toast, can only say everything was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and very nicely served. Could not fault it, excellent value for money and would recommend it to anyone.

I hired Butler's Pantry for my hen do at the stables lodges and i really couldn't fault them. Ralph and his team served 25 people the most delicious 3 course meal. Their attention to detail was spot on and there wasn't one complaint in the house; there was just compliments. The service was incredible and the staff were so lovely. So if you're looking for a stress free, 5 star meal then butler's pantry are who you need to hire. Thanks to you all for making my hen do so perfect!!!!

We visited the butler's pantry earlier this year for the Russian banquet evening. Wow! The food was sensational, service was fantastic and the evening's host was interesting and entertaining. The whole evening was throughly enjoyed by us all and we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Found this dream place on trip advisor. Visited with my son who's 26yrs for breakfast. We had set menu breakfast for two, both throughly enjoyed the food. It was so much we could not finish it. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff who aim to please and defiantly did.Returned a second time just to see if it was as good as the first time. Well...... Amazingly it only gets better, I was remembered from the time before & greeted with such warmth. Followed by excellent service. Try it for yourself. Ticks all the boxes. Fantastic little hideout so cosy & relaxing.

Dear butlers pantry You recently catered for my partners 30th birthday party at Shingford stables. Arrived in plenty of time and set up the tables just how we wanted. The food was delicious and everyone commented how nice it was. Ralph even brought the birthday cake and sang happy birthday! Cleared up and left without a hitch and we couldn't have asked for anything else. We would use again and highly recommend to anyone needing catering.Regards

This place needs renovating. Food is average. I could find better places that do better. Although the local beer was a hit i enjoyed and took the bottle home for takeaway.

This is a lovely place to go to for lunch, although it definitely needs some renovating! The menu is varied enough to not get bored, and prices are reasonable.

Our first trip to this little (18 covers) bespoke restaurant won't be our last. An excellent evening of game cooked to perfection. The wood pigeon served on pesto tagliatelle, grouse in cured ham with lentils and venison with thyme and lemon - all cooked with great care and beautifully served.This is not a full time restaurant but does several 'themed' evenings which appear to have regular attenders. The two Lobster nights in October are already fully booked which is a great testament to the quality of the food.It's very small so getting the right ambience not easy and the music was rather eclectic! All in all a super night

Butlers Pantry provided the wedding catering for my son's wedding. The quality and taste of the food was excellent. They helped the whole day run smoothly from the setting of the tables, serving the food and drinks to looking after us and guests right through to the evening. My friends told me about Butlers Pantry, my husband and I went to butlers Pantry early in the morning today for breakfast. My husband had 6 items breakfast and I had 4 items breakfast. It was perfect breakfast we have never had. Excellent breakfast. We were served by a smiley happy waitress. It is the best place to go. We recommend the butlers pantry to anyone who would like best breakfast ever. We will come again soon to enjoy your best breakfast served by wonderful waitress.

Ralph and his team were booked for my daughter and now son-on-laws wedding at Calke Abbey on 18th July. Right from our initial discussion with Ralph where we talked over the options of the day's events we knew we had made the right choice of caterers. On the day Ralph and the team serve were on hand to serve the welcome drinks, announce the speakers for the speeches, serve the three course wedding breakfast anthem provide the food for the evenings entertainment for which we had pork and stuffing cobs or beef. Everything was spot on and the quality of the food was commented on by lots of our guests. So a fantastic day was had all round and we'd like to say a big thank you to the Butlers Pantry for being part of making the day a fantastic success. We will have no hesitation in recommending the Butlers Pantry to anyone who would like first class catering at their event.

Ralph and his team worked really hard and played a huge part in making our wedding a real success. We had a perfect day, and the guys at Butler's Pantry really helped to make things run as smoothly as possible - from giving us a beer to calm the nerves when we got there, to running the BBQ and the evening drinks service, they were absolutely fantastic. Their calm attitude and approach before the wedding also really helped set our minds at ease too, and we couldn't recommend them enough.

Took my gran out for a meal today (15/7) and can't fault a thing! Service was friendly and tentative, food was excellent (in taste and presentation) and the dining area was clean, airy and pleasant to be in. Been a few times before and I have never found a fault. Here's to many more visits!!

We were made to feel very welcome and it has a friendly atmosphere. The food that we ordered looked and tasted delicious . It was all locally sourced and homemade. I would highly recommended this place and will be visiting again soon.

Hadn't been here for years so called in for lunch recently. A nice varied menu and good service. The food was also good quality and plenty of it.Will return again soon as an ideal local lunch place.

Ralph and the team from the Butlers Pantry do great food! We had them come to our venue and provide a BBQ for over 100 people and it was brilliant! Everyone had plenty to eat, it was fresh and delicious and not expensive. The best BBQ food you could ask for: and being Australian, we've had a few BBQ meals in our time.

From our first meeting with Ralph right up to our big day, we were really impressed with the team at The Butlers Pantry for our wedding catering. The food, the service and staff were all impeccable and all of our guests have all commented on how amazing the food was. At our first meeting with Ralph, he talked us through different options and asked about our favourite foods, and put together a menu for us, and happily tweaked anything to suit.We had a three course sit down wedding breakfast, and carved pork and stuffing cobs for the evening. The team also happily catered for a few allergies.We had a bar set up from the BP, who sourced local real ales for us and served reception and toasting drinks.The staff cleared away some tables for the evening and left the kitchen spotless.Thankyou so much to Ralph and the staff at The Butlers Pantry for a fantastic experience, we will definately be reccomending you!

Ralph and his team provided a first class dinner for my family as part of our dad's 80th birthday celebrations this weekend. 3 delicious courses, all cooked to perfection in our holiday cottage kitchen. Top notch grub, perfectly presented. They took care of everything, even the washing up, leaving us to relax and enjoy ourselves. Thank you Butler's Pantry! Look forward to a meal in the Bistro itself one evening. No hesitation in recommending these guys to cater for any special occasion!

Visited here today with my partner and our 7 month old daughter and we had a lovely visit.Prior to our visit I had read the previous mixed reviews. I must say, I really can't understand the negative reviews. We had the most enjoyable time. Our only issue was that we didn't have long enough to stay and enjoy the lovely company of the two female staff members, but that was due to another appointment, no fault of the staff. I booked this morning, as with a 7 month old I don't like to be searching high and low for places to eat - it's easier to have a plan. We booked a table for two and requested a high chair. When we arrived we were greeted a lovely, warm welcome and soon spotted the high chair, so knew which table was ours. We were seated in the corner, by the window, out of the way which was perfect for us. As people would spot from my previous reviews I'm a bit of an afternoon tea fanatic, and this was just what we ordered here. To our surprise we were given a choice of sandwiches. This was a great idea, especially as I am a little bit fussy (to the point where I pick all the currants and raisins out of scones). We chose the chicken (mostly for my partner) and the tuna (without cucumber-for me). I feel though, that had we have asked for some random combination they would accommodated this. The afternoon tea was served separately, which we actually prefered. Like previous comments pointed out, the afternoon tea is not served on a tiered plateau but how it is served and presented works and worked perfect for us. So ... The sandwiches arrived first and were delicious. They were accompanied by a garnished leaf salad which added a nice touch. Then, with ample time between, the cakes came. They were yummy. We each had a scone (with jam and cream), bakewell tart, fruit cake and chocolate cake with an almond biscuit. The only complaint we have, well my partner had (as I don't eat cream), is that the cream that comes with the scones is double cream and not clotted cream. Saying that, he still managed to polish it all off. Our pot of tea was more that sufficient too, as we each had 4 cups worth. The part that made our experience 5 out of 5 were the two lovely staff members (not discrediting the beautiful food). They took time to interact with us and they both especially made a fuss of our daughter. Which is always nice to see. We really enjoyed the company of these two lovely ladies ... So much so, that we went our entire visit without a spoon to stir our tea with, simply because we didn't want to offend them. We ended up using our initiative and using one of the knives instead! Overall, absolutely lovely venue and staff that just made our visit. The cafe is modern and clean. The food was presented well and tasted great. The prices were exceptionally good value and this is clearly a cafe where the management and staff care, as they don't try and rip-off their customers. Even though we are not at all local (other side of Derby), we will definitely be making more frequent visits to this lovely establishment. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Just returned from a visit to the butler's pantry having enjoyed a delicious spring vegetable soup which was totally yu. Today we had a tuna toastie which was equally yummy highly recommended enjoy

Nice little place to go eat! Food tasted really good presentation a bit 70s but couldn't fault anything else. The pub food in Mickleover isn't the best to be fair but this little gem is nice will be back and will spread the work

The Butler's Pantry specialises in Game but on this occasion my (adult) daughter and myself had the English Breakfast. It's one of the best we've ever had and the black pudding is just out of this world!The quality of all the food is first-rate but at very ordinary prices.Our waitress, Caroline, was an absolute delight - very friendly, helpful and efficient.All in all, a great experience!

My wife and I visited The Butler's Pantry today for a late breakfast. Having just driven from Heathrow after a long haul flight we wanted a good quality breakfast when we got back and that's exactly what we got. It was superb. I had bacon, sausage, egg, sliced potatoes and mushrooms- excellent! Lovely sausages, everything in fact was top class, simply the best cooked breakfast I've had in years. My wife had scrambled eggs and toast and she loved it, beautifully cooked and very tasty. What a find, we'll be back! We also liked the look of some of the upcoming events (Valentines Day, Roast Lunch, Wine Tasting etc) so I expect we may try some of these as well. Very good value, very good quality and presentation and very pleasant and efficient staff.

Felt in need of a cup of coffee and a snack while out shopping (I live in Mickleover) and strayed past the shops into the old village square where the Butler's Pantry is situated. I had seen it before but never visited having usually other things on the itinerary . I now know what i have been missing. It is a cosy little cafe anf the decor is predominately wood, seats are comfy and the tables by the windows allow a good view of the square. I had a filter coffee with milk (I was impressed by being asked whether I preferred hot or cold milk) and feeling a bit peckish I had a chicken mayonnaise wholemeal baguette, which came will a side salad of baby leaves, tomato and cucumber drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The coffee was very good and the baguette was fresh and completely delicious. I highly recommend this place but the opening hours are a little restricted and closing time is 3.30 in the afternoon. The Butler's Pantry does not open on Saturdays because they also operate an outside catering service and are out at events/weddings on that day. I will be back, no doubt of that.

Butlers big breakfast deliver's on all front's, well cooked, tasty and at a very reasonable price, just the thing to set you up for the day. Restaurant is well decorated, clean and the service from staff is very good, friendly and welcoming. Parking is a problem but you can find space on the surrounding street's.

We visit the Butlers pantry weekly and it's not only our sanctuary for a few minutes but also the best breakfast in ever to be had. Ok it's a close run with Hackwood Farm but Butlers just takes it. Great staff. Amazing food and good value.

Mum and I visit the butlers pantry regularly .. sometimes for a coffee but more often for one of the delicious home made warming soups. They are all delicious but if you ever get a chance to taste the chowder do so .. it is simply delicious!!! Popped in the other day for a soup when it was cold and wet and the chef additionally created us a warming meal which was not on the menu but was so welcome to warm us through .The service is always so friendly and the staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy .. I thoroughly recommend the place and can't wait to take my mum to try one of the bistro nights sometime soon!!

Often pop into "butlers" for a coffee and have had lunch a few times, great choice of delicious food. Have been to several Bistro nights, fabulous food and service. Cant recommend it enough

We're getting married in 2 days time so thought we would take some time out of hectic Wedding preparations to kick back & relax over a Champagne breakfast. This place came highly recommended by a friend so we were really excited to try it.And we weren't disappointed !! The service we received was excellent from the minute we stepped inside. The food was wonderful & well cooked and the overall price was very reasonable for what you got. To start we had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs, next a full English breakfast, toast next, and crumpets & croissants as a last course !! Phew we were stuffed !! Of course this was all washed down with good quality Champagne, juice and coffee.We were left to chat and enjoy the courses of the breakfast and ending up spending nearly 2 hours chilling out without ever feeling rushed or in the way.Well done guys, this was a great experience for us and we eat out and take Champagne breakfasts far & wide and quite regularly.For anyone reading this looking for a huge treat or maybe even a Birthday present look no further...this is it !We'll definitely be back !

My wife and I were invited to a garden party and from the beginning there was a small tented bar, tea and coffee, mid afternoon cakes etc. Dinner was freshly cooked on site with three choices of meat and a veggy choice, all with a choices of mixed salad and special potatoes. The veggy meal was extremely tasty (well thought out to include protien). The service was also very good, hard working and polite personnel. The caterers helped make the day. Well done. I would recommend them to anyone for a small or large occasion. I look forward to visiting the restaurant.

My Wife and I had a lunch in our garden yesterday and fortunately the weather was good.We entertained 30 of our friends. Weeks before we both went to see Ralph at Butlers Pantryto discuss our requirements. Ralph was full of good suggestions and put a super menu together.The food was delivered to our house on time, nicely presented, plenty of food as well as catering for a friend with special diet needs. Everyone had a super day and were very complimentary about the food. I would not hesitate to recommend Butlers Pantry to all of our friends and family or anyone who wants excellent food for any type of event. Many thanks for making our party very special.

Having experienced the excellent food at a recent wedding catered for by the Butlers Pantry Mickleover, we decided to try lunch at their bistro with visiting friends.We were all highly delighted with the choice of menu and friendly service.Our friends were only sorry they lived out of Derby otherwise they would make it their regular lunch date / coffee morning.

Lived in Mickleover for years and had heard about and passed this bistro many times but never got round to going there.I can only say that I am now kicking myself. The staff are so friendly and welcoming making a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The menu was a nice mix managing to satisfy my sons simple but demanding palate :-) as well as my own cravings for something different.A lovely experience and one I shall now look forward to repeating..!

I went here with my partner for lunch last week. The menu was ok, nothing special stood out. We waited a long time for our food despite the cafe only being small with a few tables in. When my food arrived it was cold and tasted bland. The restuarant was clean and tidy however it looked as if it was trying to be something it was not. Sadly I will not be returning.

Our son recently got married and they chose the Butlers Pantry to do the catering at the venue. The staff were very smart and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. The meal was cooked to perfection and although there were a lot of guests everything went like clockwork. Well done Butlers Pantry.Although we have never been to the restaurant if the food is as good as the outside catering then it is well worth a visit.

This weekend my wife and I attended a lovely wedding reception,we knew it was going to be something special when we found out the catering was to be provided by the Butlers Pantry.Their reputation for presenting such excellent food is very well known all guests around our table were very, very impressed.

Eagerly awaited trip to this venue for afternoon tea. Great choice of sandwiches we could pick from quite a variety of fillings e.g. crayfish, prawn, cheese, ham, game. All arrived on a mixture of white and brown bread were fresh and tasty. The cakes however were the disappointment they didn't seem homemade. There were two varieties of scones one cherry and one fruit and both were very dry. The other cakes were uninspiring. No clotted cream just mock cream. Also not served on the traditional cake tier perhaps that's just a personal thing. The service was good staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. Sadly will not be returning.

The Butler's Pantry supplied the food for the hen do I organised. The food was out of this world. The chicken was full of flavour, the veg was cooked to perfection and the dessert was to die for. They dressed the table and it look fantastic, cleared away and left the kitchen immaculate. Certainly would recommend for any function. Thank you

Used to be a regular here but seems things have changed as you never know if they're going to be open... Seem to be more interested in outside catering now...lost it's sparkle

We asked The Butlers Pantry to cater for a special 90th birthday meal. Ralph was fantastic in enusring he understood our needs from the outset. We had a number of allergies within our party including a very serious egg allergy. Ralph was creative in tweaking the menus and determined that nobody should be disadvantaged in taste terms because of an allergy- my suggestion that a simple fruit salad 'would do' for the egg allergy guest was quickly overturned by Ralph and instead a tasty alternative, just as special as everybody elses was planned. The kids meal was also wonderful and a world away from the typical kids meal of nuggets and chips; instead Ralph prepared a mini roast chicken dinner which was enjoyed by all kids aged from 1 to 10. Ralph's team on the night was professional and friendly producing lovely food and serving it efficiently with a smile. The meal was enjoyed by everybody and we would definitely use The Butlers Pantry again.

A little pricey but quality food - never had a bad meal there.Particularly go in at lunchtimes for takeaway. Sandwiches and quiche are very good also.

Another visit to The Butler's Pantry and yet again it didn't disappoint. Great food, great staff who always give service with a smile. Great place,, will be calling again soon.

I visited last Tuesday and had a very poor visit. I've been numerous times before and had a pleasant trip. However I felt I wasn't treated very pleasantly by a member of staff.

visited with 2 others for brunch. The food was well cooked and tasty. The service was good and the staff very friendly, as always. Not my first visit and it will definitely not be my last.

Went to visit The Butlers Pantry for the second time and could not make a single complaint. The service was punctual and friendly. Decided to try the smoked salmon and scrambled egg muffin. It was b-e-a-utiful :) and the carrot cake was to die for, definately cant wait to go again. Thanks again for a lovely visit!

It had been a while since my last visit to the Pantry and I can only say that it had improved. We were greeted by a pleasant chap who showed us our table and took our order. The food arrived promptly and to my exact specification (I'm a bit fussy). I will definitely be going again. For all those meat love the bacon and black pudding sandwich is to die for!

My friend and I have been here from time to time got lunch and been very satisfied but not this time. The waiter and waitress are lovely but when you are given stale baguette and a filling that's not as stated, you have to say something. I see people rave about the evening meals but lunch needs a lot of improvement. There are some very good cafes out there for lunches, stale bread is a no no. We came away sad and disappointed.

Heard such raving reviews so had to try it for myself. The breakfast was to a high standard and the service was friendly and welcoming. Will definately be somewhere i mention to my friends and must visit again. Thank you for a lovely breakfast

Our lunch at the butlers pantry bistro was fantastic. There was a wide range of choice on the menu, all very well priced, there was plenty to choose from. Our food came in good time and was presented well and we were served by a very enthusiastic member of staff. Although the restaurant is small this adds to its uniqueness and creates an intimate dining experience. The restaurant is clean and comfortable serving locally sourced food. We shall definitely be dining there again soon.

Had lunch in the tea room today 18th May the omelette was over cooked and burnt and served with soggy chips,when I complained while paying the bill the responce was "oh sorry" so I will not be going back there again.

The most delicious breakfast! Lovely lady serving too. Everything very tasty and cooked just right. Cannot fault anything.

Can't fault The Butler's Pantry. Staff are always polite and the food is presented beautifully, tastes great and is excellent value. Have also been to an event where the food was provided by The Butler's Pantry and was not disappointed. the quality was every bit as good as that served at the Tea Room. Couldn't be better.

Usually we have a very nice lunch at Butlers Pantry. However today I ordered a tuna mayo sandwich, the bread was stale and therefore very dry. This in itself wouldn't have been a problem, just a small mishap. The most upsetting part to this was the lack of an apology when this was bought to their attention. In fact we were left in the hope we would leave rather than serving us anything else. We had to get up and ask for someone to serve us. We'll be going somewhere where they value their customers enough to understand a 'Sorry' is all it takes sometimes. Not the black looks a whispering we endured today

We have just returned from a lovely trip to the Peak District at Uppermoor Farm (10 adults) and used the Chef & Butler Service from The Butlers Pantry on two nights catering for all of our party. I have to say we were blown away with the quality and food which was all meticulously prepared and tasted great.Over the two nights we had complimentary amouse-buche of smoked Salmon on the first night, and chicken liver parfait on the second night. For starters I had home smoked loin of venison with caramelised pears & stilton - which was genuinely outstanding. On the second night I had roast parsnip and leak soup which was also very good. On both nights I had Gressingham Duck served on linguini pasta and porcini mushroom. I can honestly say its the best duck I have eaten (including in several Michelin starred restaurants). I know the other diners were equally impressed with their mains.Puddings were also great (Cheesecake on the 1st night, and marmalade pudding on the second), followed by an extra cheese course - after which we were all comprehensively full! Ralf Skripek and his team did a stellar job, and for the price, we have to say all of our group were amazed. I like to give balanced reviews on TA and elsewhere, but I really can't think of a single negative. Highly commended.

Really tasty, well prepared food in a small bistro/cafe in Mickleover. The scrambled egg with smoked salmon served on a toasted muffin is excellent and the breakfast menu is served all day. The board of seasonal specials also looked very tempting and reasonably priced. By night it becomes a bistro serving 3 course meals , based on how tasty the light bites are , this should be a real treat.
