Very enjoyable little lunch here at a reasonable price. We went because my son is vegan and there's a separate vegan menu! He was happy with the all-day breakfast and I enjoyed the 3-tapas deal. Staff were very helpful and polite and the photos and artwork covering the walls was very interesting. Will return.

Food was awful. Avacado rock hard and looked rotten. And side order of fries would not have fed a bettle.

Always enjoy Carnero. Can’t pick a favourite, love the big breakfast, had some great burgers, tapas is yummy. Great menu! I went to the opening night. And have been a fair few times since. My 3 year old loves the play corner and craft table. He may work leaving meal there. Always a winner in my book!

I was visiting some friends in Derby from London and came here for brunch after reading the reviews. The staff are very polite and their food is top quality for affordable prices. The hash browns are the best I’ve ever had :) The atmosphere is lovely to sit and look around and they also have some quiet ambient music. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a spot to eat. Will definitely be coming here again :)

Every week my partner and I come to carnero for drinks and food. We cannot fault the food or the service, the staff are all lovely and helpful - Especially Aimee who goes above and beyond to sort things to accommodate for my partner's disability. 10/10

Excellent dog friendly bar/restaurant. One of our party was vegan and another was gluten free and the choices for both were excellent and very varied. The prices are reasonable and the food was cooked perfectly. We will definitely return.

Food was nice. Only thing was the portion of chips was pretty stingey and the chef constantly banging the bell was a bit irritating. Otherwise pretty good.

Lovely set up and the food was delicious. We were booked as a table of 11. This unfortunately resulted in some of the food been bought out cold and some dishes quite late to arrive to the table. But the food quality was spot on and the staff we super helpful. My only advice would be to keep those covers warm and try and deliver those big orders in a more timely fashion.

It was my first time for me here and I met a friend. It's so relaxed and lovely ambience. Had a get together with a larger group for the Tuesday Tapas which was really enjoyable and the staff worked really well to get all orders ready. Food was wonderful and especially Gluten free menu. So happy about that. Thank you

I was recommended this place due to the GF menu and we were not disappointed by the range that my boy could have. Almost matching the regular menu. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I went with family (and we loved the board games whilst waiting) but would like to try with friends as the cocktail menu looked great!

We met our grandchildren here on Shrove Tuesday, just like we did last year and the experience was just as good. The pancakes quickly arrive and there is a great choice of toppings. Very pleasant staff, building with atmosphere. Thank you!

I’ve been many a times to Carnegie lounge over the last six years and I’ve always had mixed views. When I’ve been in the morning or the day time the food has been great. But on too many occasions the food in the evening, especially midweek days has been well below standards. For example; chicken wings seem to have been microwaved and have dried up. I ordered a beef dish that arrived with next to no beef which was sent back for a replacement. The replacement returned with NO beef to the amusement of my friends. Please don’t offer food, or reduce the selection during midweek evenings if you cannot reproduce the same standards of the weekend and daytimes. Staff have always been very polite and happy to help. Just a shame about the food… sometimes.

Unfortunately the only things on the plate were the hash browns, the beans were stone cold and were sent back to be warmed up and unfortunately they came back slightly warm, left the beans and won't be returning.

Had a lovely few unexpected drinks this week at carnero. We popped in for one but the buzz and incredible play list kept us there. One of my colleagues wasn’t sure what lager she wanted, and the bar lady, Amy I think, was very considerate in waiting and helping to guide our choices. A few espresso martinis cruzcampos and rums later, and we had to leave. Shame we had eaten as the food smelt delicious. Will definitely be back. Thank you all x

Great place to go with babies. Very cosy, easy access with pram, very spacious to leave pram near the table and dim lights allow little ones feed and sleep. Very good food selection in the menu, including vegan and gluten free. I just love the place

We came in,the place looked nice ,we stood at the waiting point to be seated to be told we could sit anywhere (so no reason for waiting) by a woman who had a very sad face and voice like she didnt want to be there, she proceeded to keep this face the whole time ,we were confused how to order so asked one of the waitresses about it and she very snarkily told my boyfriend "oh well thats why we make you wait to be seated" she was a very rude woman wearing a cropped top which was innapropriate for work along with her attitude ,my boyfriend then went up to the bar to be told that they couldnt swap my vegan bacon for a veggie sausage and that it would be FOUR POUND to add ONE SAUSAGE , and TWO POUND to take mushrooms of his plate. We then waited for our food which came with cold meat on our plates ,we then complained, they took our food away and brought back food .... to my suprise the vegan bacon was still cold. When i was eating, i had to look at the waitresses sad mopey expressions walking past us constantly ,i will say the man at the bar with the beard and the male waiter with the black hair were both very nice but the ladies were hostile and even though the food was mediocre, not bad at all the staff ruined the whole experience and we will not be coming back.

Staff accommodating. Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast. Waited ages, for overcooked scrambled eggs thrown on top of toast. Received 5 mins after friend got hers by which time it was barely warm. Would have returned it but in a hurry for cinema. Few people dining at this time

Ordered from vegan menu, lots of varieties. Main and taps are delicious. Very easy to order, international credit card didn't work unfortunately, waiter is very nice and helpful, plenty of places. I loved the decor inside the restaurants

We had a lovely lunch here myself and my wife, I had the chicken flatbread and my wife had the 3 tapas menu, the restaurant is lovely and clean and very nice decor, staff were very polite and the the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. Definitely worth a visit and we will definitely use again when in Derby

With two gluten free individuals in our party of four, this was a brilliant option. Great vegan menu too. The lamb curry was superb. Friendly staff, excellent service. Thank you .

Had a lovely evening for a friend's Christmas get together. Staff were really welcoming and friendly as soon as we arrived. The food was absolutely lovely (we had the 3 course Christmas menu) I had turkey pie with all the trimmings which was so good! Love the quirky decor and the music was a perfect level where you can actually have a conversation! Felt really looked after by the staff and would 100% come back!

We had a really lovely time at Carnero lounge. We came as a family with grandparents, parents and two children. The food was absolutely delicious. There was a great selection on both the main menu and the kids menu and it was so good we all cleared our plates! The staff, particularly a lady called Aimee, were fantastic with my children. She talked to them, brought them activities to do and entertained them, they had a brilliant time! We will definitely be back again, thank you for a great evening!

My daughter loves coming here and she was on inset day so decided to treat her to lunch for a mother and daughter day, The staff here are so welcoming and helpful and the prices are not too bad either,we had yummy coffee and cake and home made soup. I really recommend this place 👍😊

I have visited this place a number of times and have never been disappointed with my visits. Always has a lovely atmosphere and the food has a great selection and comes out in a very speedy time. I look forward to coming back soon.

Carnero Lounge is my go to place in Derby for a relaxing and friendly eating experience. Very calming and nice atmosphere with a great menu selection if you are celiac, vegan or vegetarian. Lunch, breakfast or later meals. The tables are a good size and plenty of room between them which makes it disability friendly but not sure about bathroom access in that regard as the regular ones are upstairs. The staff are super, always friendly and helpful. Great place to spend some time and enjoy a meal.

Me and my friends all come here ever wednesday after school for a study session and a chit chat and grab a coffee! The atmosphere here is something so peaceful and comfortable with its great lighting, music and decorations really make it a special vibe. It’s very hygienic there’s not a spot of dirt insights- bathrooms are always clean. Aswell as it’s state of cleanliness, the smell is really nice with its light up candles. The staff are so sweet and polite and are amazing at their jobs at making us feel welcome! Aswell as that the food and drinks here on the menu are so good and are always top notch- always nice and fresh! I rate it 5/5 because i’ve been to other places before, that have never had such a good quality food and had a great experience! I come here because it’s a comfort place for me and my friends and we never doubt our choices coming here because it’s so great- one of the best places in Derby.

I came here for a couple after work drinks with a colleague and the service and atmosphere was impeccable. We had a couple pints of Cruz campo and our server Aimee was very friendly and nice would definitely return for again!

Lovely catch up for birthday breakfast 🎈 The best gluten free breakfast I’ve had by far, not substituted with un eatable products, looked just as good as the non gluten free ones. Will definitely recommend this place and definitely be back soon. As well as the great food the staff and place itself were also great 😊

Really nice and cosy place, quite atmosphere (at least on Sunday morning), friendly staff and fast service! Very good selection of vegan food! I had a Vegan Smashed Avocado Bruch toast and coffee with oat milk. It was really tasty, I wish I had more, as I was nicely presented and seasoned with some chillis. Good coffee too! I’ll definitely come back to try other vegan meals there 🌱

Came for brunch had a French vanilla latte and the flatbreads lamb and chicken all really tasty sweet potato fries were 10/10!

They offer full gluten free and vegan menus with plenty of options for multiple courses. After some information gathering, my coeliac friend and I took a punt and ordered burgers with chips and a dessert to share. We had a lovely meal and my friend had no issues with the food. The staff were super helpful as I scoped the place out and very friendly.

Carnero lounge used to be our favourite place, went in there today for my wife's birthday, and we were treated so horrible, my wife is diabetic she had diabetic biscuits in a paper bag. And the waitress said you can't eat those sandwiches in here!!!! We said there is no sandwiches in there, there is biscuits she didn't care she was horrible.. The place was disgusting food on the floor everywhere empty plastic We used to go in there everyday nearly, especially me while my wife out shopping but I won't be going back in there again especially after we were treated so horrible. Beware ordering through the QR CODE, As it can take forever for your order to arrive. Asked to complain was told don't care, have new staff in.

Nipped in for a drink whilst shopping. Lovely place and staff really friendly. Already had breakfast or would have eaten as food looks great.

I have not been before, it was recommended by one of our group. Lovely decor and great choices on the menu. We were a group of 4 and ordered at the bar individually. The girl that took our order was rude, as we started to tell her our order she said 'wait a minute' and was very abrupt. If she was already in the middle of something, it would of been nice of her to say so in a professional manner. We ordered our food and although we ordered separately we were assured all the meals would come at the same time. However, one of our group had his served first and had finished his meal before the rest of us had ours. Not great really, the staff also looked miserable. It was not busy, I wonder how it would of been if it was.

So four friends decided to give this place a go for lunch. Upon arrival, we stood and waited a few minutes before a staff member approached and we chose a table to sit at. There was only 2 menus between 4 of us so we had to get the other two ourselves from other tables. Nobody told us about how food was ordered and we were not asked if we wanted a drink. We waited a good 20 minutes before approaching the bar ourselves. The girl who took our order was rather rude in the way she spoke to two of our group which was very disconcerting! And her sharpness in the way she spoke caused her spit to land on my lip! One of our group asked that our food was brought out together and we were assured this would be the case. However, one dish arrived first, Nasi Goreng. This was very tasty but not exactly plentiful! But it did a job. The issue was that the next 3 meals first started arriving around 10 minutes later! All brought by different staff members. So one had finished by this time and the other 3 meals came in fits and starts. There was no positive customer interaction and to be honest, the staff seemed so miserable. However, the rest of the food was also tasty and these were plentiful! These meals were a Burger, Mexican super bowl, and twisted chicken club sandwich! Price wise they were also good value for money. So all the party enjoyed their food but the timings were appalling and the staff/customer service was diabolical. Nobody once popped over to ask if everything was ok etc. Not good at all. The place inside was not very busy and it has got to be the darkest place I've ever ate in. This has been mentioned in other comments. So overall the food and value for money would get 4.5/5 The interior 3/5 The staff I'm afraid to say really drive this place down and would get 1/5. Would we go again? All agreed the food was good but it's a no due to really poor customer service. As we left we politely said thanks and goodbye but nobody said a word back. Utterly miserable!

They've got an amazing set up inside. Every corner is instagrammable. The food is delicious. And the servers are polite. I recommend this place.

Came for lunch today with my 2month old daughter and Mum. Staff were friendly on arrival however you have to wait to be seated to then be told you can sit where you like. Then get up to order at the bar. It's quite dark and dimly lit inside, especially towards the back of the place, it kinda feels like you're sat in a basement. They used to have dining tables near the front windows but these have all been replaced with coffee tables and couches instead. A shame as it's nice to have some natural light whilst you're eating. Firstly I ordered tapas but was informed there was no chicken wings (not a great start), so I abandoned that and chose the buttermilk fried chicken and chips main instead. My mum ordered the house burger. When my food came out, I was lost for words as my chicken was literally BLACK. Surprised they could even serve me that and think it was acceptable, but the server left before I could gather my thoughts. I ate a few bites as I was so hungry but it honestly was disgusting, besides the fact it was burnt it was just completely bland. Asked for a refund and felt as though the waitress was pushing for me to take a refire instead, even though she agreed it looked burnt when she served it to me. I declined. My mum ate hers but later told me it was also bland and she only ate it as she didn't want to make me feel worse for recommending this place. We then went to the food court in derbion & the food was of much better quality, not what you'd expect from fast food as opposed to a nice restaurant. Overall I was really disappointed and definitely won't be returning to or recommending this place again.

Popped in for some lunch with my partner today and honestly the food was amazing! We had the tapas and the wings were perfectly cooked and both the seasame satay and Korean chilli sauces were incredible. The calamari was also some of the best we’ve ever had! Really really impressed, we’ll definitely come back!

A very good place to have brunch.

I see this place as a good bar with really good tapas. Good atmosphere, good vibe inside, the decor naturally calms you and encourages you to spend a while there. Staff were friendly and humorous. My only criticism is that you have to wait to be seated then wait and the bar again to order. I think the personability of this could be improved. Once the food and drinks are brought to you it's all forgotten.

Great experience at this Lounge (I'm a big fan of each of the Lounges I've been to). Really excellent service and friendly, welcoming staff - nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely - the Miami Brunch always makes me happy. Good atmosphere with a mix of people in there. Felt very comfortable to linger and enjoy the relaxed vibe. Couldn't have had a better visit.

A lovely chain of restaurants with a really bespoke interior and vibe. Food is great, me and a friend visited for breakfast as been a few times for drinks and thought we would try the food here. I had a pot of tea and big breakfast, the breakfast whilst costly was cooked to perfection, a nice selection of breakfast items, the sausages were a little disappointing as they were rather small, I also asked for extra mushrooms instead of black pudding but felt the portion was probably no different. The only gripe I had was the plate and cup for my tea was dirty, as was the spoon, which is a small letdown, other than that it's rather good!

This would have been 4 stars until we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for our desserts. It was our first visit, having heard good things about the food from friends. We went for lunch during the Easter weekend and we were really surprised how quiet it was for a bank holiday weekend. They don't take bookings unless it's for a large group, but we needn't have worried as there was hardly anyone in the place. The menu offering includes tapas, burgers, brunch and sandwiches. There is a decent choice of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. It is fairly priced, not cheap, but not crazy either. We ordered bang bang chicken and the halloumi burger. The food came out in good time. There was more bang bang than chicken and my other half said it definitely needed more meat. The food was good though. One random thing I noticed, which I pinpointed to rant about here, was the pricing of sweet potato fries. There were several different prices for these depending on what you ordered them with, even though the calorie count indicated the portion size would be the same, so why are the prices different? I know my friend would want me to comment that we are both disappointed that the halloumi fries have been taken off the tapas options. For dessert we ordered churros and chocolate brownie. After waiting 30mins we had to chase this up as they had clearly forgotten about us. I don't know why, as they weren't run off their feet. The brownie wasn't the best. I wouldn't have it again. My partner enjoyed his churros and was impressed with the large portion size. We left with mixed feelings. I wouldn't say we'd never come back, but we're not in a rush to return.

Well, those who know my reviews ... know that I don't often give 5, however, I'm a bit of a Lounge fan, and this place was great. Friendly service from the staff, great environment with the pictures on the walls and it didn't disappoint with its quirkiness. I had the most delicious honeycomb cake which was moist and tasty. Plus the mocha which was good. Toilets were upstairs and were clean and tidy. There're plenty of seating upstairs too. You can argue that it's a bit dark inside, but I would call it atmospheric ☺️. I would recommend this place.

We ordered the Halloumi Burger and the Korean Chicken Burger both were super nice and tasty. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Brownie and the Jammy Ice Cream Doughnut which were really nice as well. This was the first time visiting Carnero Lounge and we will definitely be back. Staff were very nice and it was very clean.

Visited at lunchtime today April 3rd 2023. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The decor was fabulous with it's art filled walls. Food was really tasty, good Portions size too. My Husband had Korean Chicken and I had the Halloumi burger, for pudding we had warm chocolate brownie with ice cream and jammy ice cream doughnut both were delicious. We would definitely visit again.

Came in for a quick drink and bite to eat with my mum as I have come in quite a few times before with my partner and it didn’t disappoint once again! I’ve been served by the long haired ginger lady a few times and she always makes my experience great and always looks hard at work. Today there was a shorter man with her and between them both the quality I got and the chat between them is great! Food went down a treat as normal, chips slightly cold but nevertheless ate it all! Thanks to the team!

Ordered two meals but one wasn’t added to ticket. One plate came out but the burger hadnt been charged for( i never noticed as was ordering cocktails as well The order was quickly rectified and no charge was made for my meal❤️ The operations manager...

Very disappointed with the BURNT vegan Sausage butty I had. The cutlery was absolutely disgusting and I was almost vomiting. It's a shame that the decor is lovely in the restaurant but the food and hygiene is to be questioned. I wouldn't recommend this unfortunately, what a shame.

Arrived at the restaurant last night for a work party on the arrival there was music playing lovely atmosphere then when we got to the table it wasn’t set with cutlery knowing it was a party you would of set the tables before arrival surely?...

We went along for Brunch. Plenty of seating available. Friendly helpful staff. Good selection to choose from. I had the big lounge breakfast with extra black pudding. Food arrived quickly and was very filling. Would like to return for dinner and try that menu out with a few drinks

Slow service and half of it missing! Order a lunch meal. Kids meal missing the carrots, breadsticks and humus.. my shashaka missing Greek yogurt and flat bread. Meal cost us £36.00... is this good enough service for that cost? Relying on people not reading the menu to see what comes with your meal. I had to ask twice for the missing parts and my meal was cold by the time everything came out. Won't be returning

Very disappointing experience. Had the lounge eggs and Miami brunch. Coffee and food arrived fairly quickly. Poached eggs in both were hard boiled. Portion sizes were small for the price. Little seasoning. Mushrooms in lounge eggs also not cooked through. Server delivered and took food while leaning across me which is bad form, resulting in dirty fork and knife falling off the plate onto me. Probably better places in town.

Place is lively with friendly staff. Food wasn’t great. It was strictly ok. Need to add more varieties and add some healthy ingredients. Employees need some training as well as they don’t know the difference between vegan and vegetarian.
