Nick's in my opinion is THE Best in Kettering. Been going here for about 40 odd years,I'm 55 now. Always friendly,never had anything from here that I was not happy with,waiting time is not that long either given that they are so bizzy. If you ever come to Kettering for business, pleasure or visiting family and you fancy Great Fish ,& Chips, this is the place to come to 👍

I went to this chip shop for the first time while visiting a friend and I have to say their food is outstanding I thoroughly enjoyed it and I would highly recommend this Chippy it’s the best one I have ever been too. Thank you for the delicious food 👍🏻

Nicks is the best fish and chip shop. The food is always fresh and tastes awesome, with great portion sizes. They are all super friendly and take time to talk to their customers. I would recommend them to all my friends and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Went in for battered sausage , chips and curry sauce.. Owners very friendly , good banter and lovely food , that's all i need !!

Used Just eats delivery. Large cod, chips ,chicken and chips. Excellent service and beautifully cooked Friday night meal. Recommended!

Every time I visit Kettering to watch football I go to Nick's because they do the best fish and chips of anywhere I have been and the friendly service is great. Don't miss out!!

We had a family birthday party 🥳 at Carey church hall for my nephew. Nick brought our 🐟 and chips. They were absolutely delicious plentiful and lovely and hot. Will definitely be going to his shop for 🐟 and chips in future.

Nick has done us proud! Food for 25 delivered personally by Nick. Everything was as ordered, hot and packed ready to serve. The food helped make the 21st party 👍 there was nothing left to waste despite very generous delicious portions 😀 Thanks to Nick and family for making the day.

Absolutely lovely, proper Fish and chip shop! Cooked to order. Only small but has been there for 4/5 decades! Always busy so proof they are doing it correctly. Chips cooked perfectly and always consistent! Cod was lovely as was the chicken breast! Recommended! Other side of Kettering to us but would not go any other at present!

Rushed past apparently Just after closing time, was absolutely gutted until the heroes behind the counter not only sorted my chips! (OFF THE CLOCK) but spared the time To give my friend a beautiful piece of fish! Thank you so much ❤️

Food came quickly and was a good temperature too, generous portion size which I was happy with! Crispy batter on the fish and a good curry sauce too, couldn’t fault it!

Without doubt, the best fish and chips I've eaten in my many visits to Kettering. I've tried most of the fish shops down here and just assumed I'd always be left feeling underwhelmed. Not this time! The jumbo cod was huge, thick and beautifully flaky. The batter was thin and crispy. A small portion of chips was more than enough! Staff friendly and welcoming. The reasons for not giving 5 stars? A few bones in the fish, which I hate and the fluff on the ceiling fan above the counter.

When I pay over £28.00 for a Just Eat delivery. I do not expect left over chips, half of which had to be thrown away. Increased prices should also mean increased quality.

The most amazing fish and chips I have ever had. The fish was so fresh and so soft and the batter was so so tasty + there was not one bone in site. The fish was prepared in front of me and the owners were so friendly and welcoming!! The large fish is really big and the portion of chips are massive so you really are getting good value for your money. I am definitely going to come here again when I am back in Kettering. You will never have any fish and chips like it, absolutely exceptional !!!

Amazing fish and chips just like you used to get years ago. This is a proper fish and chip shop, not one of those kebab shops that serve fish and chips, you can tell years of experience and care go into every dish.

Had fish and chips from Nicks fish and chips shop on Thursday and we all agreed that they were the best fish and chips we had eaten the fish was spot on and loads of golden chips definitely going back for some more thanks

Lockdown still! So a takeaway from this highly rated local fish and chip shop tonight. We haven’t tried this before but have to say it was superb! Excellent cod and chips so we were pretty impressed! Very impressed indeed.

We regularly get fish and chips from Nicks, and I have to say they are simply the best! The curry sauce just tops it off. No other chip shops make curry sauce like Nicks does. Happy and friendly service too, would highly recommend

A long wait for food. Then it was overcooked and we discovered the battered sausage was missing from the order. Unable to get an answer on the phone number listed. Shame, normally the food here is ok.

It's 40 years since we moved and I was last in this shop. It is still just as good as it always was and Nick is still behind the counter.

Great food as always. But come on Nick, get a grip of the Saturday evening shift. It really is damaging your business and your good reputation.

First time we have had fish and chips from Nicks in a while and it didn't disappoint. The chips were lovey and crispy and fluffy in the inside. The batter was so good and tasty. Will be back.

The food is generally pretty good, however as other reviews state this place is let down by the extremely rude staff. We’ve overlooked this in the past but on our last visit we politely asked if they had any chicken. Just got a look and “Dunno.”With that attitude we won’t be returning.

Very disappointed when we arrived we wasn’t even greeted a blonde lady just shouted at us DO YOU WANT FISH! Once we had ordered we waited 20minutes and when we got home the food wasn’t even remotely close to what we order and as far as I’m concerned if the lady wasn’t so busy texting on her phone and shouting at the top of her lungs for someone called Amy she probably would have got the order right, lazy and careless service

I popped in this evening to get some chips and curry sauce. Whilst waiting in the queue I realised I didn’t have enough for curry sauce aswell because I had 2€ instead of £2! The staff gave me the curry sauce anyway for free, which was a very generous thing to do as can’t have chips without some curry sauce!! The chips and sauce were delicious, the staff are chatty, welcoming and friendly. Would definitely come again and would highly recommend!

Not sure what the previous lady ate perhaps some left over from the bin,but what I had was lovely beautiful white fish thin crispy batter,great chips and all served with a friendly smile highly recommended!

We’ve heard lots of positive comments about this chip shop so as we now love nearby we thought we’d treat ourselves.

When I lived in Corby years ago, my dad always talked about Nicks Chippy saying “best fish and chips in the county” I always used to drive over for the Breaded Fish (order on arrival) for my dad.

Best fish and chips in town and we have tried several others recently. Pity you were closed on our last visit (18/8/2018 at 5pm). A previous reviewer remarked on the owner being rude and unfriendly. This is way off the mark as the owner (Nick) is pleasant and helpful. The person you refer to is not the owner, but your comments are spot on.

Not had food from a chip shop for along time, and can honestly say this is the best sausage and chips I have ever had.

Grim quality.... it's all re-heated. Worst is the rude and unfriendly owner....typical Kettering.A lesson in manners much needed! Look elsewhere!

I hope this is the place I use to frequent way back in the mid 80's as I loved it. I was living in Corby Northants at the time. I was also at that time a travelling Aussie and if this is the same place it was absolutely divine to sit down to indulge and enjoy all of the above. Especially after a day of shopping! I may have to save up and revisit some time soon..... though age may get me.

generally visit Nicks when we cant be bothered to cook great fish N Chips at reasonable price best in town in my opinion and the only chippy I tend to use

The best chip shop food I have ever had. Sausages to die for and curry sauce excellent. Kids loved the food (and they are fussy!) Great food and great experience. A must try for anyone.

I generally pop in on a Friday Lunchtime if I'm in Kettering for my Friday fix of fish and chips.The fish is usually cooked when you order it and the batter is really crisp and not greasy. The chips are also crispy on the outside and a nice texture when you bite into them. As a result both are always hot.I ticked 'no' for "is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant" as it's a chippy but....When it comes to fish and chips you'd have to go a long way to beat these. (The nearest I've got to them is from a Chippy on the seafront in Cleathorpes) Worth a visit. Usually easy to park nearby and good value for money

Called in on passing. I used to use this shop many years ago, tasty food then, still tasty now. Fish, chips and mushy peas, lovely.There are some bad F+C shops in Kettering, this isn't one of them.

I've been eating food from Nick's since I was a kid growing up in the 80s. The food is always quality, hot and tasty. Cannot fault at all.

Best Fish and chips in the area. We've recently moved from Kettering but we still drive back there for fish and chips. The fish is superb, decent size and never dry. Plus it's great that we get such a cheerful service.

We've recently tried this fish and chip shop and enjoyed it; no problem finding parking just out front. There isn't much of an indoor waiting space and the busy road is quite close; probably not good if you have a group of kids with you.

Ordered the LARGE cod with large chips! The cod was massive and would have struggled to fit on two plates. The chunkiest whitest cod with a beautiful golden batter. Chips cooked to perfection. One of the oldest and best chippies in Kettering in my opinion. Shame it's not a bigger shop with tables, as it would be rammed every night :)

went to Nicks tonight for large cod in bread crumbs and peas, large is an understatement , it would have qualified for if you eat it all it's free, absolutely perfect , and just to top it off the proprietor threw in ( not literally) a small bag of chips on the basis that fish and peas of that quality need some chips ! I passed 5 Chip shops on my route to Nicks that were either empty or customers were thin on the ground but when I arrived at Nicks the customers were queuing out the door, not surprised!

I guess that we have three fish and chip shops we would visit. The brummie F&C shop next to EcoSpin which involves navigating the eon-way-system. The Chinese F&C shop next to Tong Thai near KLV but their curry sauce doesn't quite 'cut it'.Surely; the best Fish and Chip shop has to be Nick's Fish and Chips. The parking is manageable, the location easily accessible, the team very friendly and the quality of the food excellent!

Best fish and chips for miles around. A chippy like they used to be, no kebabs, no pitta bread just good honest British fast food at its very best. The fish is so fresh, proper chips, yummy mushy peas and all the other favourites. I would definitely recommend trying Nicks Fish and Chips, you will not be disappointed.
