Six Richmond House in Nottingham

I’ve taken friends and family to RH for drinks to often find it’s closed to Joe Public because you’ve booked it out to a party. I find this deplorable and angering. Last two times I’ve been I spent on both occasions over £200. Last time my party was of 11 of us….do the maths. Quit upsetting folk at the weekend….or you’re in danger of people simply not going again because like me….”Nah, don’t bother, it’ll be shut to the public again, let’s go to….”….Mud sticks and folk will vote with their feet. We walked all the way from Magic Garden to partake your cocktails, half way across town, passing a dozen venues we could have had equally nice drinks in but chose you……to find often your closed to footfall. Think on…this is a slippery slope. Further, quit changing the menu every farts end. Quit changing the glasses shape. No Strawberry Daquiri…really? Thought this WAS a cocktail.glasses are smaller….and every time….no coffee!. We don’t all drink. For heavens sake. Last 3 visits I wanted a coffee to be told “we are not doing coffee” x2, “machines broken”x1. Sort yourselves out.

Nottingham' most Stylish cocktail bar. Serving probably the best cocktails in town. With a brand new cocktail list. They also serve wines,spirits and beers. A relaxed,adult atmosphere. In the evening, they have casual dining. The food is Japanese inspired snacks and small plates. Which also has a new menu and it's absolutley delicious.

Superb atmosphere and the staff are simply put outstanding. Drinks are creative and unique, as good as ever

The most disgusting drinks and a very overpowering stench of mould/damp. We ordered 4 espresso martini’s after having dinner elsewhere and they were not drinkable. We explained this to the waitress and she said “it’s our take on an espresso martini and it’s an acquired taste that some customers have said they don’t like”. All 4 drinks only had 1 sip from them and we were charged £52. Honestly the most disgusting thing I’ve ever drank, licking a slab in the alley outside would have been preferable.

Excellent place, where the food is spectacular. I went with a couple of friends and we ordered the option that included soup and two dishes. We all ordered different things to share and simply everything we put in our mouths was spectacular. Long live this magnificent place.

Great drinks in a comfortable, quiet environment, fantastic knowledge from the staff. They're happy to provide custom requests and make everyone welcome. A wonderful hidden gem that more of nottingham should experience.

Found on the off-chance after a recommendation from someone in a different bar, and what a hidden little gem. Oozes sophistication and a great ambience. Cocktails were great, without the showyness of The Alchemist - it felt more adult. Shall definitely return!

Spent New Year here. It was a great event, with great entertainment and good service behind the bar. Despite it being a private function, it gave a good sense for what the bar was like and I’d definitely consider visiting again!

Got snubbed for asking if they had bottled water. The most bizarre reaction to an easy mark up product. Had the most awkward experience catching the bar staff sniggering about it. Really wanted to try the chefs food too, he's independent to the bar but they're ultimately tied together. Left and had a fab meal elsewhere (Glass Orchid in Beeston and it was 10/10, no itchiness about bottles of water either)

Booked for a friends birthday as heard about the Shio pop up and always wanted to try. wanted to try the beef short rib with chimichurri which was on the menu but was told not available ( disappointing as it was the first opening night) i ordered the lamb beef, beef skewers & edamame. i left feeling disappointed with all three dishes flavors. VERY SMALL highly priced plates very tangy flavors and most of it was too char-grilled especially my edamame which were mostly black. unfortunately wont be returning

We’d previously eaten here and really enjoyed it. It was our 11th wedding anniversary and our friends birthday. We booked a table on line via their website arrived to be told they no longer serve food. Great cocktails but left high and dry to find somewhere to eat for a special occasions. Be warned THEY DONT SERVE FOOD ANYMORE

Unsure if this place wants any trade. They're often empty when we go in and have a variety of excuses why they're not accepting customers ranging from 'we're not open yet' (several times though it's within their open times online, the door's unlocked and no signage to indicate), booked for a private party, 'don't know if you've heard but we've a leak' (why on earth would we have heard there's a leak?!) etc. etc. Would be a pity after a clearly hefty investment (it's lovely inside) for it to fail but we now joke we'll just have a healthy walk to Brass Monkey. NB we're in our early 50's, smart casual dressed and 'try' to go in after we finish work in financial services - if that goes against their chosen demographic it'd be good to know.

Simply cannot recommend this place enough. If you are looking for amazing cocktails in an classy environment, this cannot be beat. True mixologists doing what they are passionate about. Will be visiting again and again! The Bramble is just perfect!

We had drinks this evening at Six Richmond House. From start to finish, it was exceptional. The bar tender (server) was so knowledgeable about the drinks, and was so attentive. The drinks were the best we've had in Nottingham - so flavourful and exquisite flavours. I would highly recommend this place. Best place in Nottingham for cocktails.

Fantastic venue and incredibly attentive staff with amazing knowledge of their products. I asked for a bespoke cocktail and without hesitation I was presented with one of the best cocktails I’ve tasted! Thank you for a lovely experience, I will most certainly be back!

One of the best cocktail bars in the country. Thanks to Tom and Etienne for their hospitality (Tom even emailed me a recipe). Cocktails are super modern and clever . I won't spoil the surprise by explaining them, so go check them out! I can't wait to go back.

Without a doubt one of the best places for cocktails in Nottingham. The decor is great, and atmosphere was chilled. The cocktail menu is quite limited but everything was delicious. The signature cocktails (and even some classics) had interesting but welcome twists to them such as “pickled pear” or “parsnip caramel”. The service was brilliant with the waitress describing the drinks when serving. Highly recommended.

This is indeed a fine dining cocktail bar like nothing else around the area. There was no space so we sat at the bar - a truly wonderful experience! It's as if being in a high quality kitchen and watching them work very quickly and with such attention to detail. The two bar staff were exceptional in explaining everything and sharing their knowledge of the drinks and the prep that goes behind them. Everyone was fascinated

Fab night. We came for some drinks and food. Staff are amazing from the moment you walk in and the vibes and decor of the place are really cool. Nice selection of wines. As for the food, it was all really delicious and looked amazing, they are smaller plates so you do need to order a few things but they’re all really good. I really recommend popping in! Their cocktails also all looked really good.

The atmosphere overall was good, I didn't really enjoy the music and the food was on the less side and not really tasty.

Evening Six Richmond House Cocktails and small plates casual dining 😋 Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town. You will find a stylish interior with a very relaxed vibe. Easy to forget your actually in the city centre of Nottingham. Started with cocktails 🍸 obviously 😉 with a very dirty Martini. They have a new food menu offering snacks and small plates by Chef Reece. How could we resist the temptation. We nearly ordered the whole menu. Snacks Miso and potato brioche. Southern fried Buttermilk Oysters. Confit duck leg & sweet potato Terrine. Vintage cheddar Custard tartlet. Small Bowls Kombu brined Halibut. Venison lion,wild Mushroom mousse. Salsify cooked over coals and smoked. Dessert Classic egg Custard tart with rhubarb sorbet. Cheese board with chutney and crackers. It's all table service, so once your seated there's no need to move as the very attentive, pleasant staff will bring everything to you. But you can sit at the bar and watch your cocktails being created if you want to. If your looking for somewhere to have a drink or a bite to eat before heading off to the theatre, this is an ideal venue. As food is served from 4.00pm.

Most of the reviews for Six Richmond House have focused on the cocktails - and rightfully so - Etienne is a genius behind the bar. He made me the most amazing Thai Colada - which is basically a ‘deconstructed’ pina colada - and it was sublime. But let’s talk about the food, people! I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in Nottingham, and the guys in the Richmond House kitchen are right up there, already. Ridiculously reasonably priced for the quality you get, the small plates are a revelation, if for no other reason than you need to order a few, which sets you up for an extraordinary culinary treat. The ‘Confit duck leg and sweet potato terrine, five spice crispy kale with mandarin gel’ (gluten-free, btw) left me speechless. I literally kept shaking my head in disbelief at how good it was. And it kept coming, in the form of ‘Venison loin, with mushroom mousse, black truffle pomme souffle, celeriac and blackberry jus’ (also gf) and ‘Salsify cooked over coals and smoked, brown butter hollandaise, poached hens egg, chilli jam, puffed buckwheat’ (gf AND vegan). Sure, some of the menu items may sound a bit intimidating (what the hell is ‘Salsify’?!), but this is fine dining, after all (actually, CASUAL fine dining, which is brilliant in it’s ability to make you feel completely relaxed while tucking into some of the best food you’ve ever had). I washed it down with a couple of glasses of the exquisite Rathfinny Sparkling wine (proof England is coming into its own as a wine producer). Sam, if you’re reading this, dare I say your vision has been exceeded by the reality, and of course a well-deserved nod to the lovely Mathilde, for her exceptional service. RUN, don’t walk to Six Richmond House - be an ‘early adopter’ because it might be difficult to get into in the near future! Bravo to the entire team! (p.s., salsify is similar to a parsnip and it’s absolutely delicious!)

Good cocktails, a bit pricey but you do get table service and the fittings are all very smart. Beers and house wine are reasonably priced. A nice place for a quiet drink with your significant other before going to 400 Rabbits and getting hammered 😆

Visited Six Richmond House recently - it was amazing......tucked away down Hurts Yard, nothing quite like it in Nottingham. decor, ambience, drinks selection and food choice were all superb and then on top of that, the service was attentive and excellent. Going back there for more!!

Visited Six Richmond last week with a party of work colleagues and had a great time! Great atmosphere, brilliant setting and the cocktails were so good I had to try a few. Thankfully the staff were able to help me make some great choices! Can’t wait to visit Six Richmond again soon.

Visited Six Richmond house for a leaving party. fantastic night hosted by the team , the drinks flowed and the staff were very attentive, giving waiter service throughout the evening . Lovely ambience and décor.

Fabulous decor, efficient, helpful staff and a great selection of drinks….. from coffee in the daytime to cocktails in the evening…… cocktails are a definite must try and a league above the usual. Would highly recommend for its relaxed atmosphere and can’t wait to try the casual fine dining later in the month.

What can I say best cocktails I’ve ever had…..and I’ve had lots of cocktails in my life! Great setting with a really relaxed feel, the staff were great at explaining their drinks so were really knowledgeable and the service and the delivery of the cocktails was amazing! Will be back very soooooon!

This place is a real find! I visited here recently with a large group after work. The drinks menu has plenty to offer as well as a vast array of delicious and interesting cocktails. The bar area is cosy and intimate with low lighting and a really great atmosphere. Table service was provided so we never had a long wait for our drinks which seems to be an issue for most bars lately.We chatted with some of the staff who were very knowledgeable about the drinks selection on offer and were happy to talk though with us.Will definitely return soon.

Beautiful place, really classy, great drinks menu choice. The staff really seem to know what they're talking about. The management are also really friendly you get a really personal experience, I love this place and can't wait to bring my friends!!!
