After having had a fantastic experience here midweek during the summer, we promised ourselves we would be back for Sunday dinner. We booked by email, which was confirmed within minutes, Howe when we arrived there was no record of the booking. I was able to find the confirmation email. We were told that we could be accommodated but it would have to be in the bar area as there were 3 other bookings which already had restaurant tables reserved. We were advised to pick a table and they would set it up for us. We showed them where we would like to sit and waited for someone to bring some seating to the table. After 10 minutes we were still standing so found a different table which had seats in place. (We had already informed them that my husband was recovering from a broken ankle) Eventually the waitress came and gave us cutlery and placemats but no salt and pepper. She took our meat orders and I asked whether the veg would include cauliflower cheese, as I would like to not have it, as I have an allergy/intolerance. We waited a further half an hour for our meals, which came with the vegetables served on a tray, including the cauliflower cheese. There was only one spoon which was resting in the cheese sauce so I had to request another one. I then dished myself up a spoonful of swede/carrot mash and one broccoli floret. I did try to dish up some cabbage but found that when lifted from the plate, the cabbage came out from under the cauliflower cheese and covered in the sauce, so I had to not have cabbage. After the meal, the waitress came to clear the table. She dropped some vegetables on the tablecloth and asked if we wanted puddings to which I responded yes. After waiting for 38 minutes with no sign of the waitress to clean the table or take our pudding order, we decided to leave. On taking our payment the bar staff asked if everything had been ok, so I mentioned the above. He simply said, ‘sorry about that ‘but the mains were ok?’ I chose not to continue with the conversation, as my husband had overheard the barman say that he was going to rip someone’s head off. We are really disappointed as we had been telling everyone about how good our experience in the summer was. To top it all, there was a very large dog in the area which smelled strongly and a group of young children also came and used the pool table right next to us, despite there being a notice advising that nobody under 16 was allowed to use it. Another customer did point it out but was ignored. One or two little things we could have overlooked/forgiven but unfortunately there were too many today and we won’t be back

Booked a meal with friends for 7pm, when we arrived we were met by a very friendly member of staff that shown us to our seats.myself and my husband had surf and turf our friend had steak the other lasagne. When it arrived it was well presented and looked lovely however the 3 of us that had chips they were so hard I really thought I would break a tooth, and I'm not exaggerating, the rest of the meal was really nice no problems there, when the staff took the plates he asked if everything was ok we said really nice but the chips were really hard, he said he would pass it on. We the all decided to have another drink and a dessert, my friend went to the bar and was told quite abruptly kitchens closed, so she said ok I will pay the bill and just have drinks, she paid the bill but then he totally ignored her and carried on serving someone. else she stood at the bar but he totally ignored her carried on serving others, she came back to the table and said he's not serving me let's go somewhere else, and we left. We don't know if it's because we complained complained about the chips but it's the first time I've been for a meal and said halfway through a meal kitchen's closed..

Arrived to watch a band last saturday. Got a table for myself and granddaughter. A drunken woman parked herself at our table without asking and I stated she was in my granddaughters seat. She was surly and called me a c..t when my granddaughter returned to take her seat. Nothing was done about her. Later the rude girl who hires bands jumped off the bar and told me I could not discuss this ? I've never been in such a badly run establishment before and I'm 71yrs. Avoid like the plague.

I was treated to Sunday dinner out for mother's day with my daughter, son, daughter in law and 4 grandchildren, I used to be a regular here be that just for drinks or a meal any day of the week but not for a long time, it has changed hands a few times since my last visit and sorry to say I won't be going back again in a hurry for a meal, we all left quite a bit on our plates for one reason or another depending on who was eating what, it didn't start of well as we arrived around 2.45pm for our table that was booked for 3pm we were kept waiting until 3.35pm for our table, we all had starters, the mushrooms with garlic sauce was more like a soup which was not expected, the tomato soup was over powered with the basil, the pate well it was bland and the texture like nothing I've had before, anywhere, the prawn cocktails apparently were very nice, my eldest grandson had the vegetable wellington which he left most of the sauce or gravy whatever it was supposed to be said it appeared to be a thickened version of the tomato soup but did nothing to soften the solid patry it was wrapped in, the rest of us had either the beef or turkey and everyone was happy with the meat itself, however the parsnips looked like they had been sat soaking in oil for hours and had a peculiar taste, some didn't like it at all other didn't mind it but nobody loved it, the leeks was only eaten by 1 of the group as they were, well swimming in the dish, the yorkshire puddings looked amazing but it's a shame they didn't taste as good, they were tough, how can you cook a tough yorky? plus they had far too much salt added to the mix, so glad I hadn't added any salt to my dinner, and the red cabbage was just a total fail, cinnamon in red cabbage? yuk it was disgusting and while it was on the table it's all we could smell, I didn't have a dessert but in the most part it was the best part of the meal, well that is except for the crumble, it tasted ok according to one of the granddaughters but what put her off was it got stringy, much like the cheese when stretched on top of a pizza.....that was another of the cooks big failures.

We booked Sunday lunch for a large group (adults and children) and were given the function room, this was a lovely room ideal for us all . we had all pre-ordered food and didn't have to wait long for it to be brought out, a couple had ordered alternative meals not from the Sunday menu and they were more than happy to oblige. The vegetarian option was also very good. The food was served hot and all together with additional sides of veg which were delicious. Only a couple had desserts as the main was so filling, however these were also very good. the staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. We all sat in the bar area after for more drinks and were made very welcome. Lovely Pub and food would recommend.

We originally went down for lunch but they didn't start serving till 5pm. We ended up having a few drinks and waited for dinner. Was well worth the wait. Kids chicken goujons were lovely and she got a little extra because we had waited. I had lasagne huge portion and very tasty. My hubby had the small mixed grill, which was massive but very enjoyable. Food was average and the afternoon went quite well until we entered the main bar and enjoyed a drink to be confronted by a bunch of thugs who decided to turn to violence to spoil my dad’s wake. I have heard through quite a few people that this public house that was once respected in this lovely quiet village has now turned into a public local house for people taking drugs. So if your after a quiet meal or just a quiet drink then I would suggest the red lion, the bell, the fleece or the white hart.

Stopped off with family for lunch. We had the dog with us who they were kind enough to let in the bar. They do have a restaurant too. We had kids with us and the I have to say the food, service and atmosphere was superb. We had 5 different meals and all of them were well cooked and fresh.

Was very good until recently when they got a new chef . Items missing on plate not much love on presentation . Disappointing as I'd recomended it to friends .

Popped in today for Sunday lunch. We were met with a friendly welcome and were served at the carvery by Tom the chef and his assistant Shannon. Probably the tastiest carvery that I've had. We will certainly return.

Was staying nearby and thought the meal and service was excellent ... Was told we would have a small wait due to catering for a large table but we were in no hurry. Food was not too long and was definitely worth it!

We came to this place during an evening and had a fantastic meal. My husband said his whitebait starter was without doubt the best he had tried anywhere. The chicken we had for main was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Lovely waiting staff and service and when we commented on this the waitress did say they'd had some bad reviews regarding the service due to inexperience. They seem to have it in hand now so I'd highly recommend the place. Don't be put off by previous older reviews. Give it a go.

The starter of fig and Stilton was not good; not even a whole fig and the tiniest piece of Stilton sat on a bed of limp lettuce and leaves. Very poor value for money and tasteless.

Where do I start? We ordered our starters of brie, whitebait, prawn cocktail and pate only to be told there was no pate. OK so we now ordered brie, whitebait and two prawn cocktails. The restaurant didn't seem to be busy so we couldn't understand the wait of over half an hour for starters to turn up. Not bad when they did but the brie whilst cooked was only lukewarm. On to the mains. Another half hour wait for two vegetarian dishes, ham egg and chips, fish and chips and steak. The vegetarian meals and ham egg and chips were ok but my husband had specified exactly how he wanted his steak cooked. When it arrived it was overcooked so had to go back whilst the rest of us ate our meal. Our friend who had the fish and chips then found half the fish was undercooked. Whilst the waitress offered to take it back and get another one by this time we were losing the will to live and said no. We decided against pudding as we felt we really couldn't stand another half hour wait. Then to top it all the barman couldn't print the bill. We had high hopes of this place as it had been recommended by a local in a pub in the village. The only positive thing I can say is that the waitress was very friendly and helpful but this didn't make up for the other faults. How a place can be so hit and miss with food is a mystery.

From start to finish there where so many faults with this place. First they where looking for a table when it was clearly empty. The order was taken, and the starters prawn cocktails didn't have enough Marie rose sauce, also was served by a young boy 12 / 13 years old. Then the main course came out, the beef was stringy and looked boiled not roasted. Also if they knew it was coming out red, they should inform us. When was asked if everything was Ok, we told them about the beef. The waitress then replied she had it earlier and it was fine. Not impressed to say the least. Won't be coming back.

An unassuming little place that offers a friendly welcome and excellent, attentive service. It's got a cosy, slightly bio/eco feeling with very interesting plants and an insect hotel outside the door. Menu is limited but more than adequate for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Nice music playing unobtrusively in the background too. A really great touch is their bottomless cup for tea or coffee. Blink and you'll miss this place as you drive along the busy and fast A52 between Boston and Skegness. It's on a cross-roads just after the main Friskney village turn-off travelling NE. But DON'T miss it because it really is a worthwhile pit-stop. Opposite, down the lane towards the Wash, there is some brilliant wild walking.

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed my full English breakfast here. I've just sold my cafe/bar and relocated from Kent and decided to check out Louth. I'd definitely return and have more refreshments at Tina's cafe. Real butter ( on the side of toast) just as it should be. Friendly service, good value grub...... Thank you Joe x
