Stayed overnight, such a lovely place. Welcome and hospitality by the team here was excellent. Lady that checked us in and showed to room was lovely (sorry didn't get your name!) and special mention to Jacob who was welcoming, efficient and seemed to be there all the time! Room was lovely, drinks and tapas in the bar were great and breakfast excellent! Thank you we will definitely be back!

When visiting Bakewell last week on a trip to the Peak District, we stumbled across The Honey Bun Cafe and so glad we did! Small but perfectly formed with the most welcoming and friendly staff and food to die for at a very reasonable price! If you’re after fantastic food in a welcoming and friendly environment, then you have got to go here! We always go to Bakewell when we visit the Peak District and we will now be adding the Honey Bun Cafe as a must on our next visit.

Lovely staff, very friendly as always. We had the mushroom soup which would have been perfect had it not been laced with pepper, I couldn't finish mine unfortunately. I think the cafe has lost it's lovely cozy feel since it changed hands and had a face lift, but we'll try it again and see.

Remarkably good. Excellent coffee (made properly) taste of the coffee is different to anything you would find around. It actually tastes how you would want a coffee to taste if you were to go out and enjoy one. The breakfasts and cakes look insane and we will deffo be back.

We stopped by with two dogs having walked 8 miles. The dogs weren't allowed inside but there was covered seating outside with heating. Annabel was very friendly and kindly gave the dogs treats. the humans both had soup and coffee. All was lovely tasty and hot. The service was brilliant thank you Annabel

My wife and I called in on our cycle stop! This was Tuesday the 8th of April and a lovely sunny day! It was packed with motorcyclists and cyclists! It was a big big queue, but soon got to be served what I call the best bacon bap around! See photo! At a very reasonable £4-95. Compared to the one I had at the Village Green Eyam last week at £7-95! The staff, food, and coffee never fails to impress me! Excellent 10/10 for me! Well done The Old Smithy staff!,👏👏👏

Let’s be clear. This is the best chip shop that is not on the coast we go regularly and never any problems. Really enjoy it. Friendly staff. It’s busy, really popular. And can’t fault it usually. However if you go anywhere near closing time then they won’t warm up any pies so you get what you get. Is sort of understandable However they’ve changed pies, now have teeny thick dry pastry pies, with dry ‘filling’ fairly tasty, presumably some ‘premium’ brand that have got it all wrong. Now I’m sure the defence will be high quality meat etc locally reared but if the pastry is too thick and the sauce inside all but gone then it doesn’t really do the quality of the meat any favours. And I don’t care about cost. I didn’t even notice if the price had gone up. I just don’t want to drive home and then be disappointed when I open what is normally an excellent takeaway. I’ll come again but back to the fish for me

Called here this morning before going for a walk round Matlock bath. Lovely quaint little tea shop with welcoming servers. Just had drinks but the menu stated a variety of food and cakes. Great prices also. Would call again as lots of Covid restrictions in place so felt safe.

Went here on Sunday morning as my husband & daughter went on the Saturday and told me they did a gluten free breakfast it was absolutely amazing it had a hash brown ,beans, mushrooms, two slices of bacon 2 slices of toast which was lovely normally gluten free toast/bread is disgusting ( which was warbatons gluten free soda bread ) I would highly recommend going here if you are a coeliac no pain or being poorly because of cross contamination and the place is spotlessly clean the only down side was they wouldn’t do me a pouched egg because they were to busy. Thank you the farm shop cafe
