Food is fairly good but way overpriced. Some of the staff are nice. Always busy if weather is good. I based my review on value for money, and tbh Monyash old smithy tea room, or even Eyam tea room are far better. Again almost Michelin prices for transport cafe grub.

We arrived in the peak District for our holiday after a long drive and ordered 4 veggie breakfasts. They were delicious! The mushrooms were lovely, seasoned well and juicy, the eggs cooked to perfection and hash browns, beans and sausage all tasty! Very filling and great value! Would highly recommend.

We went to this biker cafe for breakfast. It was a cold overcast day, but there were more than a dozen bikes outside, some of them seriously gorgeous machines! We sat on the smokers terrace. I had tea with the small yondermann breakfast, which was plenty enough food for me! The tea was hot, and the food tasty - and reasonably priced. We'll go again! Safe riding everyone!

Myself and a colleague stopped here to have a snack on the way back to Oldham. The food was very over-priced £ 4.80 ish for (frozen) chip cob, and i think around about the same for a (frozen) chips and steak "baguette". The steak was so over-cooked as to make it inedible, i ate ONLY because i had been on the road since 05.30 am, and i was quite hungry. The only plus sides of this place is the parking, and a decent locationThe 2 members of staff that we came into contact with had very little in the way of personality,.AVOID.AVOID

Just visited the yonderman cafe. Very punctual, well mannered, and approachable staff. However, the only main concern for myself and partner is it very costly for what you get. The black pudding give me nothing but unsatisfactory joy. It was very dry the least. The wopping £12.50 for a very basic breakfast is abismal! However, I had a really dope time. The presentation of the building is gopping for the outside however it’s like the tardis on the inside. Very important and impressive! Keep it up guys!

Another place that since Covid, seems to think customers are a 'bit of an inconvenience'. We sat outside and the lady serving didn't seem happy to be doing it. It seemed such a chore, that I offered to go inside to place the order, but she said I couldn't. I think many people in the hospitality industry have been on furlough so long that they prefer to take the 80% money and sit at home all day. Now they are having to work for basically 20% more they dont seem enthralled. They have to remember that customers keep you in a job, not the other way round! Disappointed

Called in here yesterday for a cuppa and something to eat. Driven past it many times and thought it was just a greasy spoon and it is to a point but it was clean and comfortable, well socially distanced, the food was good and a proper cuppa in a mug and not stewed to within an inch of its life. The only faults I found was that some of the menu I thought was a bit pricey and some of the staff “not all” were a bit off hand or sempt to be, might have just been a long day??Definitely will call again and won’t drive past looking for somewhere else to fuel up.

Visited today with my husband and little boy for breakfast, we weren’t even greeted...this should have set off warning bells! ordered two breakfasts, one with tomatoes, one with beans and tomatoes, a tea and a cappuccino, the woman didn’t even tell us where to find cutlery!only one breakfast came, asked if the other was coming and the lady with the neckerchief said you only ordered one.....there were two adults....why would we only order one???? No customer service at all to speak of, didn’t even attempt to apologise for getting our order wrong. The café is situated slightly out of Foolow where it may be missed on the straight A road - don’t be fooled by its appearance, as it will be one of the best breakfast you will have in the Peak District! My friends and I stopped by the place before we left for home and we have no regrets from having breakfast here. The café is your average local breakfast place with a good selection of breakfast choices and also offer a lunch menu in the afternoon. As my friends and I were very hungry that morning, we had opted for a larger portion of food at the café – I had the Big Yondermann and was very satisfied. If you are looking for a hearty and affordable breakfast in the Peak District, this is definitely a place that should not be missed.

Visited with my daughter - she’s been nagging me to try out the breakfast here since visiting a while ago. So - if you like your full English and you like it large then this is a good spot. The board shows quite a number of size options for both the standard breakfast and the Yondermann breakfast - the latter featuring extras such as black pudding, oat cake and comes with tea or coffee. We arrived just after opening , 08:00, for Sunday breakfast and there were already a number of breakfasters tucking in. It’s not a fancy cafe, pretty utilitarian in fact but the quality of breakfast is good - the only thing that let it down ( in my opinion) was the coffee wasn’t great. But that said really enjoyed the Large Yondermann complete with toast and was sufficiently stuffed to avoid the need for eating until evening meal. As in all things you get what you pay for - not the cheapest but worth a go. Will be back.

We have been here many times over the years and sad to say it isn’t as good as it used to be. The sausages are smaller, the portion sizes were inconsistent across our group (and between people who had ordered the same dish) and when we asked a question the owner was defensive to the point of rudeness, which took us aback. Another dish was both over cooked and cold, which matched the fact that some dishes arrived at our table almost ten minutes earlier than other from our order. This has gone from being a great café to an okay café using what tasted like cheaper ingredients produced in more of a rush and sadly I think we’ll go elsewhere from now on.

The Yonderman is a favourite of mine, mainly when out on the motorcycle and it is used by many of my friends too. The parking area is relatively large and stable enough to park-up, which is always a good start. The large "school"-style wooden cabin offers enough seating for about 40 people inside with extra room for 20-30 outside to the rear of the building. There is also shelving for motorcycle helmets, so there are out of the way.

Had a very unpleasant experience at this cafe today. Arrived in our minibus for a coffee and lunch while we waited for a team of scouts to walk by on their expedition. As we got out of the minibus we were met by an agitated and confrontational man who told us we mustnt leave our van there if we weren't coming in to use the cafe. We politely explained that we would like to come in for coffee and and spend an hour there. Ordered coffee and one lunch but sat outside as the cafe was busy inside. Waited about half hour for good to arrive, swiftly followed by grumpy man who informed us that we were not welcome as I had chosen to eat my cheese sandwich on his bench. We tried to apologize but the man called me RUDE told me again we were not welcome and went indoors. While I understand they don't want their car park.filled with walkers (and non customers) I really feel there is no need to be so rude to your customers and can't believe that they think it's ok.

Been a few times. Food is good but service depends upon who serves you and if it's getting a bit close to closing time. I like the place because it's motorcycle themed but my wife says we are never going back there.

Proper cafe very friendly staff locally sourced ingredients. Very biker friendly. Gets busy on Sunday mornings. Get there early or you could be waiting a while.

Over an hour between ordering and service for a breakfast is inexcusable. I know it's a busy Sunday but even so some explanation of the delay should be given at time of order

We have been coming here for years as a couple and as a family and even though the name has changed over the years the food never does.Excellent full English breakfasts to fresh sandwiches and home made cakes.Always a warm welcome and a great mug of tea too.We have a family tradition of coming here for lunch on Christmas eve long may it last.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was probably the best I've had, the meat melted in your mouth and the veg was brilliant with meaty gravy

Simply the best place for brunch (and any other light meal) in Matlock. We are a party of 8 and they coped admirably, all of the breakfasts coming out at the same time and hot. Reasonable prices and being located in a (long stay) car park helps.

Delicious lunch. I had ham and cheese baguette. Crunchy bread and chunky ham. My friend had leek and potato soup which she said was wonderful with tasty fresh granary bread. The oatcake with cheese and onion was also highly rated. Loos were clean.

Really lovely food, you wouldn't know it from the outside/inside - it's like any other pub but the food was really good. Had the best dessert - rice pudding with apple and nuts - to die for.

We called in here for an impromptu evening meal with our 4 year old grandson as we were staying at nearby Landal Darwin Forest & he wanted the lasagne that Barringtons had on their Children’s Menu. We ordered our drinks & perused the menus, whereupon our Grandson decided he didn’t fancy it after all, nor anything else on the menu! In desperation, I asked the kind & patient gentleman taking our order (& everyone else’s) if he might be able to do a jacket potato with cheese & baked beans (not on the menu!) to which he replied cheerfully, “No problem!” we then ordered our own meals of scampi, peas & chips. The meals were served very quickly which, when you have a grouchy but hungry 4 year old, was extremely welcome! We soon polished off our tasty meals & drinks, paid the bill & were on our way. I just had to review to say how grateful we were to the lovely gentleman who looked after us so well that evening; over and above service & delicious food - what’s not to like!?
