Had a fantastic night at this pub the staff were fantastic and really went out of their way to help us , stayed overnight in camper van , the food was excellent but I was really sad to hear it’s closing 😳I hope the owner re thinks this and re opens again soon before he loses the excellent team he has running the place , staff like them are hard to come by.

I’ve been going to the Bull for decades. It was a beautiful, charming 15th century coaching inn with lots of original features and antiques. Always a roaring fire when cold out. Always great English pub food. Went in today and found the place has had its heart and soul ripped out. Now the oak panelling is painted green, the walks white and cold feeling. There’s TVs on the walls in what used to be a function room with football on. Why? No one was watching! The outside is now painted in a, quite frankly , depressing dark grey. We were going to have a Sunday roast, but we were told they don’t do roast dinners, they do pizzas! Whoever is running this once authentic coaching inn simply has no idea. It’s a 500 year old inn on desolate Derbyshire moorland not a restaurant on the Italian riviera or even a British town or city centre! It used to have a welcoming atmosphere and feel like the world famous Jamaica Inn on Bodmin moor, now…… Heartbreaking to see this gem of British hospitality have its soul stripped away. It was a place I would travel 50 miles + to visit and even stay the night when it offered B n B. 😞

Recently booked the function room for my wedding. Communication in the run up to the event was fantastic and very accommodating of me being rather disorganised with everything frankly. Once the day came around the staff were all fantastic, they were warm, friendly and polite and did everything to help out where needed on the day helping things run smoothly. Food was fantastic. Often buffets can be lackluster compared to what is served normally, however this was NOT the case. It was excellent, warm, refreshed often and some of the best pizzas I’ve had in years frankly. Overall it was an excellent day and the venue was fantastic.

Always a little apprehensive when trying a new place to eat but was very impressed with the food and if you like your burgers this is a place I would highly recommend on the outskirts of Buxton.

The bird café was very cute! We sat in the window and they had stuck feeders onto them so all the birds landed right at our table. There were several bird books on our table to help identify them. The food was very nice, we had sausage sandwiches. The atmosphere was amazing and we really liked the little farm shop and garden centre.

We visited this shop recently and their fish and chips are really good and served with curry sauce or peas as per request. However the chips are less but it is more than enough for single person and it taste crisp and soft. Fish is so fresh and crisp as well. We also tried fish cake, which tasted fresh and good. They have more space to dine in... Both inside and outside, but so crowded during peak hours. The staffs are super friendly and serves very fast. Clean place.

I don't usually bother to write reviews, however, we went to get fish & chips, as most of the reviews were outstanding. To say I was dissapointed is an understatement. My fish(£6.50) was almost all batter. Shocking, easily the worst fish & chip meal I have ever had. Should have gone to the chippy up the road, they had a long queue.
