My family took me here yesterday for my birthday!!! It’s by far the best afternoon tea I have ever had!!! We had both sweet and savoury, everything was delicious!!! 😍 I’ve never seen so much food though! The portions were beyond generous!!! 😊 there were a good selection of little sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls, pork pie, onion rings, cheeses, fish bites, chicken bites, all different fancy cakes, sweet and cheese scones and so much more, I just can’t name everything!!!! And unlimited tea and coffee, all were beautifully presented with lovely attentive members of staff!!! Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to return please try this lovely establishment, you won’t be disappointed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We visited twice during a short stay in the Peak District - once for brunch, and once for coffee and cakes. The food was excellent both times. There's a good choice of breakfast items, and a fabulous range of delicious cakes and scones. Good tea and coffee too, and the staff were really friendly and efficient.

What a lovely quirky bar. Dropped in for a quick drink on the way to our hotel. Can't wait to come back this evening.

The two stars are for the food not the staff. The staff are very helpful and give good quality service. The food is another matter. First of all, the choice for anyone with a lactose intolerance is non existent. As is any choice if you are vegetarian or vegan. All the food items on that counter display contained cheese and the one vegan item looked tired and well, odd. Not sure if it was meant to be some kind of roll. I said I would have this but then asked it contained garlic, which it did, so I couldn’t have that either. I said I would settle for just a cake but was offered a ham sandwich. Ham is actually cured with milk so that was out too. I am ok with bacon so had a bacon sandwich. I also said I’d be fine with a slice of raspberry Bakewell. The bacon was undercooked and very fatty and I had less than half of it. It was actually the worst bacon sandwich I’ve ever had and pretty well annoyed that this was the only thing on offer to me in the first place! I bake a lot at home and I can’t understand why the Raspberry Bakewell slice was so gritty and tasteless? I only had two bites of that and couldn’t take any more. The only good thing about this meal was the tea, which was really good. £11.80 for this! The place itself is not how I remember it. It certainly isn’t as glossy as the pictures on the website show. The tables outside are badly in need of maintenance with at least needing a lick of varnish. I hadn’t been here for years and was very disappointed. It certainly isn’t as good as I remember it. The food I had was awful and felt pressured to have it as nothing else on offer. Sorry to the staff, they are really great.

Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

Had a fantastic night at this pub the staff were fantastic and really went out of their way to help us , stayed overnight in camper van , the food was excellent but I was really sad to hear it’s closing 😳I hope the owner re thinks this and re opens again soon before he loses the excellent team he has running the place , staff like them are hard to come by.

The restaurant itself is accessible, providing you don’t need to use any facilities (toilets). If you’re in a wheelchair then you can forget it. After a lovely meal I needed to use the toilet before we left as we had a 40 min drive back home. But there was no disabled/accessible toilet. My partner highlighted this to the staff and the manager came. She asked me if I wanted to use the gents! She said she would block it off for me. For context I am a young women. It’s unsafe for me without using grabrails. I ended up having to travel half a mile away and use some dark and dingy disabled toilets up the road!

We managed to find an indoor table for 2, by the counter, after an invigorating walk at Cuber Gap. It was quite full for lunch and some had even gone outside in the marquee. The homemade soup was good and the rustic baguettes were filling and tasty. Good service, thanks

We previously stayed here for one night last year and so when we were looking to have a few days away, we decided to stay here again but for 3 nights this time as the location of the Moon Inn is perfect for visiting the Hope Valley and surrounding areas. Our room was ready at 3pm when we had arranged to arrive and was clean, warm and well presented. During our stay, the tea, coffee, milk, cups & glasses were replenished every day and, although we were happy to use the same towels over our stay due to being able to dry them quickly on the super warm towel rail, they would have been replaced if we had wished every day too. A negative point to our stay would have to be that directly outside the door to our room was a refrigeration unit, which we presume was to do with the kitchen below. This was on all the time making a rattly, humming noise that during the day wasn't that obvious, but during the silence of the night could be heard through the wall to our room. The unit continuously switched on & off making sleeping quite difficult on the first night and so for the remaining two nights of our stay, we had to use the fan supplied in the room as a distraction to mask the noise. Luckily we are used to using a fan at home on warm nights, and as the room was more than warm enough, this suited us as a fix to the problem. We chose the bed & breakfast option for our stay and we were happy with the choice available on the breakfast menu. All in all, for the price we paid, we feel the service and accommodation we received was reasonable. Should we be looking to visit the area again, we would be happy to stay here again.
