The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Scotland

Came a little too late for open kitchen (only until 8). Had some beer and funny chats with the locals. Greetings from the guy who ordered beer mixed with Coke✌🏻

I am a passing businessman and I politely asked if I could use the toilets due to medical circumstances I need to use the facilities more frequently. I was told “toilets are for paying customers only”. Shocking from a reputable business but needless to say I won’t be a paying customer ever after this experience

Long wait to get served and even longer wait for the food. Thankfully, it was worth the wait. It would have been nice if there was an apology for the wait, but there wasn't.

It is a good looking bar. The shelves are filled with real books. The lighting is low creating a very pleasant aura. A decent selection of cocktails, wine & beer. Service was a tad disinterested. Just doing their job, nothing more. Plesant enough for a drink on a date.

Nos gustó la sopa skink (sopa de puerro de bacalao ahumado. Tenía un plato similar pero el bacalao estaba entero encima de puré de patatas y con verduras verdes. Muy sabroso. El lugar es pequeño y sencillo en la decoración y no acepta reservas. Si vienes en el momento adecuado (inténtalo temprano) y no eres un grupo grande, estarás feliz de haberlo hecho. Al lado hay un bar lleno para tomar una copa. Se encuentra en un hermoso puerto para caminar después.

Decent food although with no apparent seating indoors we could not understand how it is classed as a restaurant. It seems to be just a take away chip shop.

Lovely fresh fish and perfectly cooked chips. Batter perfectly crunchy. Great portion size. Had the calamari too. Nice spots to eat just a few minutes walk away.

The locally sourced seafood was excellent and that is from an ex fisherman. Staff, ambience and menu was 10/10. Staff was very attentive, price was, as expected and food/menu was exquisitive

A wonderful location for dining. We came for dinner. Limited menu and apparently it was too difficult to swap chips for potatoes . Very poor.

I had two wonderful experiences with Waypoint Restaurant in one week! The first was a surprise dinner I threw for my husband the week leading up to our wedding. I worked with Gill for months planning the details from the dinner itself to the water taxis to take our friends and family from Oban to the island. Let me just say, she was an absolute delight to work with. Finally meeting her in person on the day was just the icing on the cake. Everyone raved about the dinner and Gill! She and her team just made us feel right at home. The second was a lunch after an excursion on the island for our wedding guests. It was just the perfect way to relax after a day outdoors. Once again, Waypoint outdid themselves. My husband and I plan to return to Scotland and Oban one day and a visit to Waypoint will be high on our list.

Considering where this fish and chip shop is located the fish was disappointing. Rather overcooked. Chips were tasty but expected more for the price.

Lovely fish & chips cooked fresh to order. Spicy Haggis was also excellent. Good portions, reasonably priced, was fairly busy when we went mid week. Would go back again

Very good fish & chips. Used to frequent another chip shop in the area. However, it has been less impressive of late with quite tasteless chips. The chips at Rock salt &sole were really tasty, as was the fish. We'll definitely be using this chippy again.
