Harbour Fry in Orkney Islands

Busy, friendly, tasty traditional fish and chips in Kirkwall. Great service, ate in, every thing well cooked, and the battered haddock was so fresh. It gets very busy, we arrived around 6.00pm on a cold Monday evening and there was plenty of seating.

Wow! No wonder people were lining up waiting for the door to open! We joined the line to have one last meal of fish & chips before we left Orkney the next morning. And Harbour Fry certainly didn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for luxury or charming decor, this isn’t the place for you. But if it’s good food at a reasonable price, this is definitely the place. My husband and I ordered the fish and chips of course and were totally impressed. It was a delicious meal. The servers were so friendly and helpful, indeed the whole team, behind the counter, worked like a well-oiled machine. They worked their way through that lineup in record time. The menu on offer was extremely varied with choices for all tastes, including curries.

We've had the best fish and chip ever. We are from an irish fishing village and I thought it was the best till now. Well done to all here

Delicious hot fresh haddock & chips from Harbour Fry. Tastiest haddock I’ve had in a long time - cooked to order. My husband enjoyed the haggis slice too & the curry sauce was spicy & flavourful. A local lady I chatted to recommended the minced beef patties - I’ll have one next time. Very friendly staff & great value too. Highly recommend!

EXELLENT BATTER Soft but crispy chips no annoying hard ones like the other chippie in town. fish flaky chunky and good portions mushy peas and curry sauce brilliant the bread rolls to die for and try the orkney pattie its like a corn beef hash brown you must try it mention trip advisor. good price happy staff and what more would you want ideal for shoppers and people from the cruise terminal.

Orkney is a special place and our holiday was enhanced by excellent gluten free fish and chips from the Harbour Fry. They have a dedicated separate fryer and are very aware of the need to avoid cross contamination, very safe for those with Coeliac disease. Andy
