Linda's Fish and Chips in Moray

We were in Cullen for a week and enjoyed gluten free fish and chips twice once in their small restaurant and once as a takeout each order were cooked to order and delicious and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly it was lovely to be able to go somewhere without the worry as they understood of gluten free needs - well worth a visit if in the area

Favour place for chippy super every time .

Had some good fish on last visit but then 17/9/24 my fish was definitely not fresh, smelly. Pity, hope their high reputation is not leading to complacency.

Played Cullen golf links and fancied some fish and chips afterwards, asked the barmaid at golf club to recommend somewhere nearby, Linda’s was the place. I must say she was bang on, we both had Haddock and Chips, freshly cooked and they were delicious, can’t fault them

Nice and friendly chip shop with good service and plenty of options to choose from. Food was very good and you can enjoy it at some sea side tables just down the road.

Fish supper and smoked sausage were stupendous. The fish is really good and the batter is a nice balance of crispy and moist.

Fabulous fish and chips and the lovely staff were friendly and helpful. This wee fish and chip shop is well worth a visit.

We were visiting Moray as part of our holiday. We spent an afternoon at Cullen bay for a beautiful coastal walk and were hungry so popped into this Fish and Chip shop for supper. We were not disappointed, we were catered for quickly, friendly staff and the fish and chips were fresh and delicious. We live in Norfolk and have some great places for fish and chips and we thought these were just as nice, if not better!! Thankyou!

10/10 fish supper. Everything about it was top class. We were visiting from Dundee and already trying to work out when we can visit again in future to get another one! Bonus is that it's served in paper still and not a box. Chippy's were meant to be served in paper.

Chips lovely, but onion rings were soggy so quite disappointed. Not to usual standard.

This was awesome. There was a full vegan menu and the fake chicken burger was great. Ah good feed fae a good place.

Whoever that joker from England is moaning about better portion sizes of chips l in Norfolk needs to stay in Norfolk,,stop sharing you miserable sod!! Anyways us normal folks went in today and had a haddock supper and a smoked haddock supper both came with a mountain of chips which were delicious,the normal haddock was beautiful but the the smoked haddock was absolutely sensational!!! It was the best bit of fried fish I have ever had anywhere in the uk!! Brilliant service,chatty staff and owner who always make you feel welcome,,will be back asap 👌

I called into Linda's today at lunchtime to get a takeaway meal for myself and my husband. I was the only person standing at the counter and whilst there, one member of staff walked past me three times and another once. Neither of them even acknowledged me, let alone asked me for my order, so I walked out and will not be returning. I found this extremely rude.

Juice each and 3 portions of chips £18, not overly generous with chips. Had to pay extra for tomatoe sauce and the vinegar was sprayed on chips. Cash payment, but think someone after me paid by card.

Have been coming for years loving every visit but not this time! The batter on our mock chop , haggis and fish was soggy , spongy nothing like the crisp delicious batter of our previous visits , I really hope they sort this out as we love both their eat in and take away services .

A bit of a rarity these days. A fish and chip shop that is reasonably priced, is efficient, pleasant and swift in service and which serves up really tasty food. Deserves a 5 star review. Wouldn't be accurate or fair to give anything else.

Great fish and my wife has to eat gluten free. They offer the best gluten free fish and chips. Light batter and fresh cut chips. Highly recommend.

This is a splendid fish and chip shop and cafe. The fish and chips were superb, the welcome was warm, and the place was immaculate, including the outside loo and bin area. Someone is clearly proud of their business and it shows. I highly recommend it.

Fish was ok but the batter was really soggy. One kid had a chicken burger & was unable to eat it due to it being rubbery and tasting 'weird', it even smelled so bad! Another kid got macaroni which was disgusting, seemed like packet sauce was used, no hint of real cheese anywhere, sauce was very watery. Staff are all quite dour.. Asked for sauce, was told they only have sachets, I said sachets would be fine - was given none. Waste of £56, will never be back.

We were on holiday in Scotland and were visiting the coastal towns and villages along the Moray Firth. Having looked online prior to visiting Cullen we decided we would stop and buy some fish and chips at Linda's. Although the fish and chips were good to eat, and very tasty, unfortunately the portion size was not value for money. £4 for a large portion of chips should be plenty for two adults, but no, the portion we got was only half the size of a standard portion from our local chip shop in Mundford, Norfolk. The fish was tasty but again it was small compared to what we are used to buying, bearing in mind in Norfolk we don't have ready access to a fishing port where you can easily source white fish such as cod or haddock. We decided to have a can of drink also - £2 for a standard size can of drink is grossly overpriced. Going back to the chips - the staple of a good fish and chips meal - it is disappointing to think that the proprietor should not see how it is important for business to serve a good portion of, let's face it, a simple vegetable.

The smoked haddock was fantastic. Curry dip for the chips made made my meal complete.

Lovely food but absolute chaos during ordering. Check your order before leaving, missing a few items even though we paid but couldn’t be bothered going all the way back.

Fresh Haddock and all Coked as you wait .

The dining in area of this takeaway is quite small and the decor is bland. We would have had a takeaway and eaten outside but it was too cold. We both had haddock suppers, the fish was lovely and fresh but the batter was very orange in colour the chips were quite greasy. Peas etc were available but at extra cost, I think it should be included. We love the fish and chips in the north east of Scotland sadly these were not the best. The takeaway was very busy. Staff were pleasant.

The best GF fish and chips I've ever had! Delicious crispy batter, good sized fish. Non GF Great too. (Do ask them to mark which parcels have the GF inside tho, as they didn't do that to ours, just told us which was which.)

Had the smoked Haddock which was delicious. Unfortunately half my chips were either bad or brick hard.

Tasty fresh fish and chips with very good quality haddock and perfect portions size. The only things letting it down are a slightly chaotic ordering system, needing to pay in cash and rationing of vinegar that's applied for you with a spray bottle. Recommend walking through the viaduct arches and eating on the picnic benches on the green.

Very good fish and chips, especially with gluten-free breading. Very friendly service, just a bit confusing when there are a lot of people there.

Fantastic fish and chips, curry sauce is really good too - best we’ve had in a long time! The batter is really light and still crispy and the fish is cooked perfectly. The staff are also polite and really well organised. We’ll be back!

Went here 29th March 2024 nice place didn’t have to wait too long had fish supper black pudding supper and chicken fillets supper all very nice only complaint black pudding was on the small side otherwise very good

Great fish and chip shop with a wide choice of menu options , including a great choice for veggie & vegans. Even catered for gluten free . Well cooked and very tasty and great portion size. Perfect location to pick up a takeaway to sit on the park bench on the green and look over Seatown, the beach and sea

Well not from the area, stopping overnight at the camper stop. 5 minutes walk up the hill. Great price. We found the fish and chips were still lovely and hot when we got back as we're the curry sauce and peas. Totally stuffed. Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend.

The chicken fillets here are always amazing and the fish is huge! Best chipper around, will definitely be going back!!!

Today was our second visit here. First time we took out, today we ate in. Two seafood baskets with chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, a mocha and a cappuccino. Verdict: highly recommended. £39 well spent in our opinion. My only wish would be to make all the options on the take out board available in the sit in area. Cappuccino was he best I've ever had too!

Chips were cold and fish I’m sure was on the turn. Been coming there for years and possibly my last time . Spoke to complain and was told no one else complained. £42

Never had a good experience here, I don’t know who keeps hiring awful staff but needs checking. Brunette girl and blonde girl rude and laugh and whisper in front of you. Make you feel uncomfortable on purpose. Not the first time this has happened.

Absolutely loved their haddock and chips.. The hubby and i shared a portion and throughly enjoyed them Would definitely call back in.. If ever we are up that way on holiday again Would highly recommend a visit The staff are lovely too... PS If you do go try and pay in cash... £22.00 for 2 fish suppers and one portion of peas. Won't be back even though the food was decent. We live in the local area and hadn't been in for a while but after a day in Inverness we popped in on the way home. Hubby paid with card and told me it was about 20 quid which seemed a lot but I was appalled when going through online banking this morning to see it was £22. Next time will just drive past or go on to Banff where I could get 3 suppers for the same price.

Our first visit to Linda's was very nice and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our second visit was terrible. The chips for the second visit looked to be all of the bottom of the fryer leftovers (mine had deep fried hair!). The fish was overcooked and I'm not so sure how fresh it was. Given the really good experience during our first visit, I'm very disappointed about the second visit. The difference in quality is difficult to understand. My wife is willing to try another visit but I'm not so sure.

It is very unusual for a chippy to be open all day, but this is. Don't ask for cod and chips tho, they don't do it, it's Haddock country here. And worth it, some of the best fish and chips ever had.

Not only were we impressed with the bay, Linda’s fish and chips were the best. We decided to eat in as it was a little blowy outside. What amazing food in a really clean and well decor environment. Fish, chips, peas, curry sauce, washed down with a lovely cup of tea. Well worth the visit if passing through. High recommend.

Great! Ive been waiting ages to try "lindas chips" since we moved to Moray in Scotland, most chip shops cook there chips with meat or fish and in "beef" fat which is ridiculous! Especially for vegetarians and vegans. The chips were not greasy at all! Only think i would say is that, some nice brown rolls to go with chip butty or the veg/vegan burgers would be amazing! My husband had the cheese burger, he was so impressed " best burger ive had" he said! And with a view over the Cullen Beach sea topped it off. The 40 minutes drive from Carron to Cullen was definitely worth it! We will be back and definitely recommend 👌

Great chippy Linda’s was the best chippy no one can beat them . Very considerate staff and make sure they go according to your dietary needs . We came from West Yorkshire and loved the way we got treated. Please keep it up Excellent people fish & chips out of this world. 1000 out of 1000. 😊😊

Great range of foods (including vegan and gluten free), the chips were excellent, and the gluten/dairy free batter (and fish) were really pretty fantastic! Staff were friendly and efficient too.

Came to Cullen for a day out with family and decided on some fish and chips from Linda’s And I must say coming all the way from Derbyshire they was the best fish and chips we have had in a long time ,non greasy and very light and crisp ,we sat outside in front of the harbour with a stunning view The service was great happy to help I would of put a picture up but i didn’t have time as I was enjoying eating them lol 😆 Many thanks

As it was a lovely night ,we popped in to get 2 fish suppers to eat by the beach and we were not dissappointed . We got good old fashioned fish and chips wrapped in paper which were delish . The servers were a breath of fresh air . Young happy people who gave personnel service it really made our night ,thanks guys

Real crispy battered haddock with good chips but I asked the dimwitted young lad who bagged it twice to give me ketchup but got back to the car and found none, maybe I should of spoken proper Peterhead and just asked for red sauce.

Came here with the family while on holiday and have been before. Fish, chips and scampi were all delightful, a bit light on the vinegar but I guess times are tough....one thing I would comment on was the Mac cheese, almost 100% certain it was tinned with some cheddar thrown on top....full marks if made from scratch.... definitely worth a visit though....

OMG...Best fish & chips I've tasted in a very long time. Everything about it was great. Lovely batter, good tasting fish & perfect chips. Also had a battered sausage which was also delicious. Definitely worth the long journey

Takeaway from here twice during our five night stay in Cullen and both times great. Extensive menu with loads of different things to tempt you!!(compared to a West of Ireland chipper!) Guy behind counter very helpful and seemed to find it very amusing when we asked what various things were!!!(Polony??? Mock chop??? , Ha,ha ) Everything we had, Haddock, burgers,chicken all very good and I particularly enjoyed my haggis supper. Always a queue and numerous staff efficient and friendly.

This chip shop was very busy which is always a good sign in my book. The battered fish was nice and crispy. As were the chips, soft and fluffy on the inside. Great eating them down on the beach. One thing, I would maybe like to have a piece of cellophane to stop the food sticking to the paper.

Always drop in here when we've been to the beach at Cullen .. for an area that has numerous fish n chip outlets, it's something for a place to be head n shoulders above them in quality, portion sizes and cost

The haddock was small and too much batter so when you saw the fish you thought it was big. Some of the potatoes used for the chips were green. Having read some of the reviews we expected the quality to be better

The best chippie in the land! Extraordinary choice including vegan, vegetarian and gf options. Everything cooked to order and piping hot. Everything is sparkling clean so hygiene is first class. Most of all, the staff are first class! There are some fairly unique items on the menu too, including superb smoked haddock.

Only tried the fish and chips, which is very good. Love how the spray the vinegar over it for a great taste without leaving everything soggy! Staff was friendly. Would recommend.
