The food is great, and so is the service. It's always good to be there. I'm never disappointed. 2 of my favourites down bellow. 👌 UPDATED REVIEW: After they reopened once they were done with the renovation, it's lacking on availability of ingredients, and it seems there an ongoing miscommunication between the staff serving costumers and the kitchen.

It's a bit like a wetherspoons but better. I had the hunters chicken and it was very good. The service was very good and very quick and Cornelia gets a extra star. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the toilets are not in Tipperary.

Went to the granary a few weeks ago, was an excellent atmosphere foe me as a wheelchair user, access was perfect as was food and service.

Went out for our first wedding anniversary for lunch, first time since the refurbishment and was really impressed :)

Stopped off spur of the moment at the weekend, and was pleased to get a table. Unfortunately the Sunday roast was sold out (we will come earlier next time) but the menu had plenty to choose from, and good deals throughout the week. We ordered burgers, and they were delicious, and filling. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the tables were clean. Everywhere had nice decor and a bonus in the ladies loos were Scottish fine soap seakelp! Love the stuff. We will definitely be returning, thanks

Got to say best breakfast I've had in years

We popped in on Chrismas Eve for a family meal. 7 adults 2 children. We had pre ordered meals from the Festive Menu. Table was ready for us arriving but set for 5 adults 4 children. Didn't think too much of it at first. Syagg I formed us thay there had been a prime with delivery so the kids desserts we had ordered werent avaible, no problem we picked a different option. But then the meals started coming out, the kids were aerved first (which is how every meal should be done! In my opinion) however one of the adults meals came out as child portions. Staff returned it to the kitchen to be replated as an adult meal. We had 6 Christmas dinners 3 had broccoli but no parsnips, the other 3 had parsnips, but no broccoli. When I asked a member or staff why I was informed that the delivery had been short and as we were the last festive meals of the day the chef had split what veg was left over our meals. Felt this was a wrong seeing as they new we were coming as all food was pre ordered but wasn't going to let it affect out evening. Just as we were finishing our meals a plate of parsnips was sent out, I said we hadn't ordered this. Memeber of staff took it back to the kitchen bit returned a few minutes later with it again and said it was made for our table! We took it to make sure they didn't go to waste, however they weren't fully cooked so seems like they'd rushed them to try rectify the shortage of veg. So whilst I appreciate that they did try to make up for the lack of veg, I would have preferred to have been Informed when we arrived and maybe have the veg brought out on smaller side plates for us to decide who wanted what. Issues aside the food was ok, staff did a great job and it was a nice relaxing atmosphere!

Family visit in the run up to Christmas. The pub was busy but Alex managed to get us a table for 7. Well looked after throughout. Reasonably priced food and drink which was ordered promptly and delivered promptly and was tasty! Despite it being busy in the run up to Christmas, there were no drunks or idiots in the pub. Recommended!

Great atmosphere and fantastic staff

Loved the wallpaper; great first impression. While the staff were dealing with a lot of the evening ingredients being out, they were prompt, helpful, and apologetic. They were friendly and attentive. I have food intolerances so I often have to order something without ingredients and restaurants nearly always get the order wrong. They nailed my order even with multiple similar items ordered at the table which is very rare. I will absolutely be returning. We had breakfast with santa here today and it was an amazing experience. The staff were great with the kids and couldn't be more helpful. The breakfast choice was great even for picky eaters/fussy kids. There were many different characters to keep the kids entained until santa arrived. Overall great time, will definitely be booking again next year.

This is the first time I've been in since the refurbishment, the new look is amazing. The food and service is better than before and the katsu curry does not disappoint, this still lives up to its reputation. With the Festive season well on its way the staff are all jolly with LIza in full swing enjoying dancing, singing greeting everyone who comes through the door.

Come for drinks and snacks with friends. Do not expect to be wow'd for the food or service. Went on a Thursday which was a discount on the 8oz steaks - thin little things that were over cooked. Staff was nice but missed several things.

Was in yesterday and the katsu curry did not disappoint, the new decor is beautiful and toilets are lush and very clean all the staff were very welcoming and our server Lisa is very jolly and clearly enjoys the Xmas season singing and dancing can’t wait to be in for our staff meal next week.

Went for a treat food wasn't that good I used to go here a lot but this time it was disappointing portions was smaller bit cold chips was limp looked like reheat and price was higher they had difficulty with the drinks machine but didn't switch it off still selling refills when the drinks was flat no fizz

Atmosphere and the bar set up is bang on, friendly, cosy and amazing staff

Went in to see if the big refurb had made much difference and as expected it hasn't, food was ok but the floors were the usual sticky mess, much nicer local places nearby which are more deserving of your money.

Just been in for lunch and I’ve got to say, what an amazing job everytime was doing, no wait at all. Staff were so friendly Food was amazing it was the best burger ever and the brownie was awesome

Not great to be honest. Food should have been garnished as per the menu but it wasn't. When this was queried we were told that we should have asked for the garnish when ordering. The menu didn't state that nor did the staff when ordering. Poor!

Fairly busy with some tables available. I wanted a burger but they had none left ( I was there at 1.30, so thought that was unusual!). Had fish and chips. It was assumed i wanted garden peas rather than mushy (there was a choice but I wasn't asked). The food was alright, somewhat bland and basic. Not overly generous portions, average chips, not piping hot though. Service was pleasant enough, the decor was nice, toilets clean. Football was on all the TV's around (some booths even had a screen) which I found annoying; not everyone is interested in listening to that in the background and it's an assumed position that everyone likes it on. It's your average pub, handy for a late Thurs lunch but not much else.

Nice redecorating, unfortunately the food seems to have paid the price . some issues with the food but the lovely staff took care of it as soon as we told them

Well, it’s not awful, beer is still expensive, foods still good but the place isn’t very clean. There’s only 4 decent staff members i’ve met that know how to do their jobs, the manageress Liza is a total sweetheart, the gothy glasgow girl (i forget her name, maybe Caitlin) is hilarious, the bouncer Louise makes me feel safe at the weekends and DJ Paul is just fantastic. Besides the food being good and those few members of staff, it doesn’t have a lot going for it anymore. It always feels a bit dirty and unclean, some of the staff have terrible attitudes, there seems to be a few issues with fridges breaking and warm beer but electric faults are nobody’s fault but the sparkles. It used to be my go-to place but not so much anymore because for every good staff there is 3 more bad staff and that is not a gamble i would take. I wish we could bring back some of the old staff such as Sam, Ebony, Chevon, David, Leigh, Jack but it is no good to live in the past so hopefully the staff will become my friends

I just love this place, Staff are excellent, very friendly and attentive, very polite and professional.. always have smiles and a pleasant word for customers, food is great, I recommend the cakes on the bar with a nice cup of tea or coffee... I recommend this place for all of the family. Always a great atmosphere

My dad and I came here on Friday , the service was shocking , my dads meal was awful , he had the fish and chips , if you pressed the fork down on the fish the grease just fell out, it was disgusting , not one person came to check our meal was ok , on going to pay I said to the waitress when going to pay, she said ah that’s ok I shall take off his drink , a Diet Coke !! I will not be coming back here .

So in the space of three days I found myself in here twice! If you are going to try something new why not see it in it’s full capacity, right?First experience - a Saturday night with my visiting friends! We entered at around 6.30pm and unsurprisingly, we were quite ‘far on’ from our first pint at 12pm. I’ll rephrase that, we were drunk!The place was lively and the booths with televisions suited us perfectly, as we were keen on watching the Newcastle game. We found a seat upstairs and had a good four / five drinks (shots included) before two of us were chauffeured home. Short but sweet they say. From what I remember, a good night was had!My Mum and Dad were staying with us for a few days the following week and on the Monday we went for a lovely meal here. Again, it was orientated around Football as the Manchester City game was on live. In terms of sports entertainment, this business was fantastic and the availability of Sky Sports was a positive.The food was basic but tasty and my wife did find a Vegetarian option (Brownie points). It was my treat and overall for four meals (two courses) and a couple of drinks each, the bill amounted to £65. Very good value for money indeed.Third visit - Scotland vs England in the Six Nations. Lively, packed, noisy, pints flowing - all the right ingredients for a good night! Superb.I am glad I got to experience all sides of ‘The Granary’ and would definitely consider another outing. I’ve heard good things about the Breakfast so it would be rude not to finish off the full experience!

What a Great bar! Lots of drinks and food, TV with sports on and friendly staff. Came here 2 times in 2 days, and had delicious food and drinks both times. Really reccomended😁

Went for lunch with 2 friends both in wheel chairs. We all had a nice lunch and coffee, Staff, though very friendly and couldn't do enough for my friends, weren't very competent.. A bit disheveled in their dress, and not very organised. However, that didn't have any effect on our meal experience. The menu isn't that exciting, but they were good enough to let my friends have half portions (small eaters) at a kids price menu or close to. It could do with an overhaul regarding the decor, but that's maybe just me. I will go back as it is one of the nicer places in Elgin.

My son and I went for a meal here last night and I was very impressed. The bar man was so polite right from the moment I walked in and told me to sit down and he brought over my drinks. The meals were good value and the desserts were amazing. What made the meal outstanding was the bar staff as they were so pleasant and would definitely make me return.

Gary and team looked after about 69 of us upstairs for an afternoon into evening reunion event we frequently hold. Spotlessly clean, nice ambience, plenty space and the food and drink were excellent and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Thanks guys, we’ll be back. Daz

Attended an event held here between Christmas and New Year. Fantastically received, great food and great prices, only bettered by the extremely motivated, dedicated and well trained staff. Top job. Hugely recommended!

visited here with my partner today and was really disappointed with my food My partners meal was good and he enjoyed it but mine was pretty cold I would usually have told a member of staff but we were short on time and didnt really want to eat on my own so i left most of it

Liza (assistant manager) was fantastic nothing was too much trouble and promotion surely beckon. I cannot add anymore to that.

Well looked after by Joe behind the bar for our regular get together. 50+ mates from around the country at a change of venue this year. Stovies provided by Gary was welcomed by all. A good day out and I suspect that we’ll be back in 6 months!

Fantastic time with perfection service. The staff went beyond good. We were noisey but were never a burden on the other clients thanks to being given a separate area. Hope they will have us back.

Fantastic venue for our Kinloss reunion. The upstairs space was perfect and the bar staff looked after us brilliantly all afternoon. Great stovies too.

Come here very often always get great service and food, Lisa and Siobhan always very helpful and bubbly always good to see the group work well and can't fault them.

Our staff, volunteers and trainees from Greenfingers Training Project really enjoyed our meals and visit for our Christmas get together. There were 20 of us in total and within our group there were a couple who did not want food from the Festive Fayre menu and the staff were very accommodating in dealing with the various requests. The food was nice and the service from Gary, Liza and the team was superb. Our table was very festive and decorated which added to the great, warm and relaxed atmosphere. This is the first time our team had had our Christmas meal at The Granary and we’ll definitely be back and fully recommend it. Thanks guys

Been in for a breakfast today (sunday) excellent breakfast cooked to order best breakfast in Elgin and well worth the money and also excellent service from the staff especially Liza always got a smile for her customer.

Last night & tonight we had dinner at the Granary so the great service & food was no fluke . Obviously this is the way they conduct business . Lisa our server was excellent. She was completely accurate on every detail & there was 10 of us on Saturday & 8 of us tonight . This is our 3rd visit to the Granary , the first was 3 weeks ago . The Fish & Chips is amazing . Do yourself a favor and try this place . Thanks for the great experience .. see you soon .

not good service, not friendly, unhelpful, overrated and the young girl that served me and my friend was rather rude and very blunt, definitely not going back. 0 starts out of 5.

So, we re out for a head wetting. There’s nine of us left after being out for 5 hours.

We wanted lunch in Elgin and this was recommended by a lady in a shop. The place wasn't particularly busy when we arrived but there was a good atmosphere. The staff were very helpful - we were offered a choice of areas to sit and they were quick to provide us with menus and drinks. The food came in good time and had, quite clearly, been freshly made for us. The place is a bit tired - but very clean and easily accessed - with good facilities. The food was ridiculously cheap for the quality and quantity and we'd be sure to return when we next visit Elgin.

Booked a table, waiter took us to.our table then asked what we wanted to drink , all started well,said he would be back in 5 mins to take our food order, half an hour later still no waiter, all waiting staff standing in a huddle talking, eventually went up to the bar and ordered our food, when our food came we had not been given cutlery, my husband ordered steak and had to send it back , it was like rubber, he took it back to the bar and complained the person at the bar didn't even ask what he wanted, just took the plate and walked away, another waiter came over and asked what was wrong with the steak and said he would get it sorted , he was the only member of waiting staff that was pleasant, no one else seemed to care, would not eat here again.

Been here a few times and is my preferred place to go in elgin! Always had a decent meal always good and is well priced! The only bad thing I have to say is the last time I was there my glass wasnt clean but apart from that it's always good!

Visited here with a friend for lunch and although he enjoyed his burger my sandwich was not great I had cheese and pickle sandwich with the white bloomer bread and the bread did not seem fresh it was dried up and hard and when I picked it up it fell to bits I haven't eaten here for quite some time but always enjoyed the food in the past but not too difficult I would have thought to make sure bread is fresh

On a family holiday we were looking for something to eat found this green king pub the staff were very friendly Jay took our order for 9 people we expected a bit of a wait for our food but in true greenking fashion Jay was on the ball all food was served together pipping hot nothing was to much trouble thanks Jay and staff

Visited this pub several times for food and drinks and the service is always great. Lots of choices on the menu and a great selection at the bar especially the Gin which is a favourite of mine. The staff are really helpful and greet you with a friendly smile which is why I will be going back again.

We popped into the granary after a trip to Aberlour for an amazing walk we were greeted by polite courteous staff, very busy,this said we didn't wait long to be served, our server Liza was brilliant, she knew the menu very well as we have a fussy eater, the meals were a good size and filled even the biggest of bellies, good prices as well, will definitely be back to enjoy more.

Service was quick and good, Liza is awesome if not a little bit wacky, but makes for a great atmosphere

Took our 3 year old daughter here last week , I ordered the burger which was delicious, my parter had the Mac and cheese and was complimenting the sauce, my daughter certainly enjoyed her chicken nuggets and scoffed the lot. Good choices on both main menu and kids menu. Server was very friendly and efficient .

We arrived as a group of four and received a very friendly welcome from the bar staff and the locals too. We ordered from the menu, which had vegetarian and vegan options. The food was good value for money, it was reasonably priced and we got what we paid for. We were all happy with our food. We enjoyed the beers also, they had punk IPA from brew dog on tap! Although not glamorous, this was a great pub to sit, relax and enjoy a bite to eat with a good beer.

Popped in for a pint on way to station after football. Friendly welcome warmquick hello, efficient service ....... And unbelievably good value. I had 2 pints 😄 !!Blonde smiling barmaid is completely irrelevant to this post but well done 👍.

We visited the granary for the first time in a while today (Sunday 30th about 3pm) and we were very impressed. There was a few groups of people in when we arrived but we had plenty of choice of clean tables and quickly found one at the bottom of the pub, our drinks order was taken not long after we had settled and they came very quickly. The menu had changed a few times since we’d last been in so we were a bit hesitant that we mightn’t find something we like but we were still spoiled for choice - settling on fish and chips and a limited edition burger. The two ladies that were working were very happy to help with our requests, questions and queries and had a lot of knowledge about the products they sold. We felt very looked after by the team, will definitely be back and recommending to everyone!

My husband and I are vegetarian. The Granary offered us many good vegetarian options for dinner. My husband had the veggie burger served with chips. He loved it. I had the macaroni and cheese, which was very good, too. The atmosphere was very upbeat, a bit loud. However, that fit in nicely with the general theme of the restaurant.

Went there by myself for a treat as been before and it was very good ,went this time and it was terrible, I had to ask to get someone to take my food order ,food came and it was ok staff never came back to ask if it was ok or would I like a sweet ,not as if they wee busy as they were all standing at the end of the bar chatting ,would I go back No sorry very poor service ,would not recommend it to any one .

Decided to take my dad here today for a Father’s Day treat as I normally can not fault the place and often recommend it but today I was really disappointed. It was busy but no busier than normal.

I’ve been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced and they have a huge selection of beers on draft.

We stayed in Elgin 3 nights and this place was a fun find. Good food, low priced cold beer and drinks lots of TV’s with all kinds of sports. Friendly bar staff.

Went in here with my husband and stepson and when they bought out the sandwich there was 3 pieces of cheese in it and about a quarter of a jar of pickle I asked for a bit more cheese in my sandwich and as told by the lad from the kitchen that that was how they came. I had to insist that he take the sandwich back and put more cheese in it. This they eventually did.but it was the attitude. Won’t be going back

Seen they had a new menu so decided to have a nice lunch here. The menu has loads to offer, had a hard time picking what to eat, decided to go for the new chicken with a twist, Was nothing special just a small bit of a chicken with a little bit of garlic sauce in the jug. Tasted good just not what I expected.

Cannot fault the food here.... been here 200 times before. Every time I have visited the food has been more than standard pub grub! Cheap too! Breakfast is definitely worth a visit!

The food really wasn't anything great, the cutlery and cups could have been cleaned better, the menu was sticky and dirty, the service was fast but not particularly friendly. The final price was too much for what it was. We won't be returning.

Advertise burger sauce with burger. Burger was burnt.No sauce and when asked was told havent got any. Didnt seem to be bothered. Bangers and mash. Mash tasted like smash,sausages burnt peas hard . Very disappointing

The Granary is our normal first stop after a visit to the cinema. I have never been disappointed and today's meal was again fine. Typical chain pub food but service quick and friendly, menu gives lots of options, prices reasonable and meal was fine. Recommended

The three of us popped in here for a quick drink last night. Although busy, we managed to get a table. Service was quick, drinks were perfect. A popular pub, located in the town centre.

We met with friends. Had a nice meal. It was busy but staff efficient. We enjoyed our meal and there was a great selection of gluten free meals for our friend.

Came here with my husband and kids for an early dinner. We had nachos to start and the kids had garlic bread. It was gorgeous! And the kids loved the garlic bread.

Visited following a Christmas lunch. Loved it. Great service and moderate prices. Special mention to Liza, five star service.

Lunch today in this fab pub was tasty, well cooked and delicious. The menu is varied with plenty for everyone and very well priced. We sat downstairs at the furthest away booth which sometimes gets overlooked, but not today. The staff were attentive, pleasant and very friendly. Will definitely return for a meal.
