The menu is varied, they have several options for vegetarians and the service is very friendly and attentive. The place is very nice and close to the port of Edinburgh.
got a hot chocolate and a cappuccino, had one of the best cappuccino's in edinburgh. got a bit lost and the lovely young lady helped me find what i needed, i am very greatful for all her help and simply loved the hot drinks i got from the Waverley Cafe. Im going there again before i head home, thank you soo much.
I went there for lunch with my husband, daughter and two friends. The garden is gorgeous, the barn is cosy and imaculate, with an amazing view over Little Loch Broom and with a wooden fire. Linda and Mike were extremely friendly. The pancakes were delicious, big portions and they all arrived at the same time. The chocolates were scruptious and they had some toys and colouring for our 5 year-old. We will definitely cine back!
I knew not to expect lobster in November but I’d hoped for langoustines or maybe scallops at a push. Not to worry, haddock tacos sounded great! Love tacos, love haddock, so jumped at them and also ordered a kids fish & chips with a side order of mushy peas.
I was the only person in and didn’t particularly enjoy having to listen to the young fella in the kitchen ranting about vegans and vegan food for 10 minutes. I’m clearly not vegan but I wouldn’t have enjoyed hearing rants about anything, especially calling people weirdos and generally being unpleasant. Not a great atmosphere to be waiting in.
It was a mixed bag to be honest. The mushy peas were not, they were more of a pea & mint purée, not pleasant.
The tacos were surprisingly bland. Of course I wasn’t expecting great Mexican food in a tiny village in the Highlands but I did expect some flavour. Even the fish was unseasoned. Luckily I was taking home and had guacamole and chipotle sauce to hand. The fish was plentiful and perfectly cooked though. And the batter (despite the lack of seasoning) was probably the best I’ve ever had. Light, crispy and golden.
The fish and chips were faultless. Not chips as you’d maybe expect from a chippy, more like fries but they were really good and well seasoned.
I’d probably have made this a 3.5 but I’m happy to give 4. The young woman serving was really pleasant and helpful and countered the rants from the kitchen (she handled him well too, better than I would have).
I’d definitely return and recommend but wouldn’t recommend the tacos.

This was one of the best pubs I visited while in Scotland !!!! The owner Michelle is amazing !!! They have great fish and chips , a great pool table , karaoke machine but most of all the sweetest funnest staff ever Darin was a kind attentive bar tender and Julie was a fun great cook !!!! You are lucky if you get to stumble apon this charming little town and pub .
Such a fantastic evening at Luisa's supper club. We weren't sure what to expect having never been to a supper club. She was so welcoming and explained all of the dishes she'd created. There's something quite refreshing about not knowing what dish is coming next. The food was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We were just blown away
Would definitely recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed!!
Came here during a ride out from home on my Harley. Opted for Quiche, salad and a banana and strawberry smoothie. Food was totally delicious and I was able to get a table outside to both watch my bike, enjoy the sun and the amazing view. Highly recommend The Alley for an excellent lunch.
We both had the classic avo. Home made bread, fresh avocado and perfectly poached eggs. You couldn’t ask for more, other than a really good cup of coffee. So we had those too.
Staff were very friendly and we were very tempted by the great selection of cakes. We resisted this time but I don’t think we’ll be able to next time😋
Comida deliciosa, ambiente cálido, excelente ubicación y excelente servicio al cliente. Este es nuestro segundo día consecutivo para venir aquí a almorzar. Es una visita obligada. Edimburgo es sorprendentemente caliente durante el verano.

On a very wet and very windy day we decided to go for lunch at our favourite cafe, The Cafe Ceardach. This community owned gem of a place is always warm and welcoming. Fabulous food, Fabulous place and most of all, a Fabulous Team of girls who make this place the joy it is.
Un café brillante. Siempre lo busco en cafeterías y restaurantes locales donde está ampliamente disponible. Siempre hay una amplia gama de tipos disponibles, pero siempre voy a Highland Roast.
