The menu is varied, they have several options for vegetarians and the service is very friendly and attentive. The place is very nice and close to the port of Edinburgh.

All the service was great but the host was particularly outstanding! He would go out of his way to help and make you feel welcome :) the food was delicious and atmosphere spot on- would highly recommend! Thank you so much!

Can only repeat myself… another fantastic meal. From arrival till farewell it was amazing. Had the mussels (again) and boy, it did not fail to deliver. The mussels super fresh and the sauce is to die for. This time we had individual steaks and and all cooked to perfection and the highest of qualit meat. Peas & leaks with bacon is a must! Service was, as usual, friendly, professional and smoth. Great ambiance, great music…. Overall 10/10 Be back again soon….

Mark (the owner) is the definition on how you should run a great restaurant with superior service. Went there with my family and we had the pleasure of having Mark providing us with magnificent service. Everything was done the right way that evening. Drinks were served right away and always ready to check on us if there was anything we needed. We had wide selection of starters and mains and it tasted all great and was reasonably priced. Would recommend this fun and great tasting reataurant to anybody.

The food was so good we ate here twice during our 4 night stay in Leith. Everything about the restaurant is classy, the decor, nicely spaced tables, great menu choices and the service is professional and attentive. The food is wonderful, well presented and portion sizes are just right for both starters and mains. On the first visit I had the beef cheeks and they were simply delicious. The Scottish mussel starter was a treat, lovely tender mussels in a rich creamy sauce. The place is definitely worth a visit and we would not hesitate to go back.

What can I say, everything superb. We had the ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection as was everything else.

Visited Pier Brasserie last night after receiving an Itison voucher as a birthday present from my son. The experience did not disappoint. We had a lovely evening in the very pleasant surroundings of Pier Brasserie. The meal was excellent with a good selection on the menu. We were served by Shona who looked after us and made us feel very welcome during the course of the evening. We opted for the beef cheeks which proved to be an excellent choice. This was a first and unexpected visit for us due to the gift of the Itison voucher, which has encouraged us to plan a return visit with some friends, in the near future. We are delighted to have found a new place to spend an enjoyable evening and have no hesitation in recommending Pier Brasserie.

We didn’t book but the restaurant was far from full so we were shown to a table quite quickly. Our server was very professional, efficient and friendly. Quite the full package. My husband had chicken and I the sea bream. The chicken was supposed to come with haggis but there was no sign of it on the plate. My fish was well presented but I was rather put off by a fishy smell from the plate which does not happen with fresh fish. It was well cooked but both plates could have done with a few more veg. Not looking for big portions but one should feel satisfied when leaving the table. The sweets were not really appealing but we decided to give the lavender cake a try. A very small, insipid sponge was presented and sprayed with some lavender flavouring by the server, which made no difference to the dry, flavourless course. We are very local to this restaurant and will probably return in the hope some suggestions may be taken on board soon.

Am losing count as to how many times we have been here, it just gets better each time. The staff are always excellent, attentive but not obtrusive. The decor and atmosphere are contemporary but warm and homely at the same time, best of both. Cocktails - you have to try them, had a few, and so far they are all great. Finally, the food, had lots of different things off the menu, and fabulously, I haven't found a lesser choice yet, there are NO bad dishes, just stuff that are not to your taste - but try them anyway, you may change your mind they are that good! Serves the best seafood/meat/veggie meals

Beautiful restaurant located in the lovely port of Newhaven, Edinburgh, right on the waterfront on the historic buildings of the fish market when it was a fishing port. We just turned up for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. Service was hreat, friendly, helpful staff, couldn't do enough for us. Kudos to the kitchen, delicious food with incredibly beautiful presentation and generous portions. Very reasonably priced too. We had a wonderful time. Mussels were delicious, fish and chips really tasty and the best was a very original lemon and lavender cake with coconut ice-cream and calvados... Superb!! Definitely will be coming back often, what a hidden gem!!

A dark Tuesday night on Leith Waterfront lit up by this stunning restaurant. Great food, atmosphere and service made this a wonderful eating experience without breaking the bank! If we were locals we would be regulars!

The drinks, the atmosphere, the view, the FOOD — all SO GOOD! We were with dear friends who had never been to Scotland, and I wanted to find a special place, and The Pier did not disappoint! The decor really worked the seaside theme but in a modern, updated way. The service was very attentive, the food & drinks were outstanding; all in all, a fabulous kickoff to our trip. It’s was definitely a cab ride from where we were in Edinburgh, but so worth it!!!
