The chilaquiles brunch is to die for! This is my favourite brunch spot in Edinburgh. The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. Will be back every Sunday.

Lovely little cantina, the people and service made us feel like home! Beautifuly made taquitos. We had the beef, fish and chorizo ones + quesadilla (don't skip it!!). The sauces are interesting and go well with the food items, just make sure the shake the bottles so it's more concentrated (level of spice is enjoyable, not super spicy so if you want more spice just put more of the sauce). Mezcal was rly fun to have too! Definetly recommended

Great small taco restaurant with fantastic very tasty small tacos - sit at the counter and watch the cooking. Perfect simple menu and great selection of Mescal with a small drinks selection and super Pacifico cerviza. Recommended a selection of tacos from cod through to beef and beans on a blue cornbread tacos. Good prices at around 9 for 2 x tacos which were perfect so had 3 pair between two of us and a tortilla , a smoky Mescal and couple of beers which was enough and cost us around 50£. Great value and clearly run with a passion. Good chilled vibe. Highly recommend

The food was definitely worth the wait. The open kitchen is great - watching your food being cooked and getting to taste their different hot sauces was a good touch! Also hot sauces were amazing too! Definitely recommend!!!

One of the best places for authentic Mexican food in Edinburgh! The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The tacos were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and packed with a perfect balance of spices. Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to for more tasty bites. Highly recommend!

A tiny gem with absolutely lush food (and v good margaritas!

We went along on Saturday for their monthly chilaquiles brunch - nachos with enchilada sauce, fried eggs, refried beans, cheese and guacamole. The nachos were seriously tasty and a good portion for £10.95. We also enjoyed a couple of beers at just £4 a bottle which felt reasonable. This is clearly a popular spot and does have limited seating, which meant that we had to wait 1.5 hours for a table. When we got seated, the staff were incredibly friendly and happy to answer any of our questions about the food or menu. A really fun atmosphere, especially sitting up at the bar / kitchen counter. Will defo come back to this place, but probably for their regular menu rather than the very popular chilaquiles!

Im very conflicted with this review. I loved the food. We went to the monthly chilaquiles brunch. The chilaquiles were AMAZING. As a Mexican this is the first time I love Mexican food outside Mexico. Why I gave 4 starts, because my husband and I waited 1 hours and a half to be seated. He has to take a train back to London so it was very stressful.Yes, there was a queue but I think that with more organisation and better logistics, definitely the time could have been much less. Also, the food took years to arrive. I hope they can improve that part. I recommend the chilaquiles verdes, if you want to try them bring a big coat and a cup of coffee because you will be in the queue for a long time.

The tacos were incredible. Already perfect in flavour, but the sauces were amazing to pair with. Bought some to take home. The service was great also. One of our 2 favourite taco places in Edinburgh.

What a great vibe.. perfect pairings with great taste. The ambience is lovely and sitting at the kitchen bar is so much fun.. they change their tacos every week so be there to taste.. great service so friendly and they make it very enjoyable. The flavor of the food is super good and the sauces are to die for.. you can just buy them also.. lovely music to get you in that vibe. Go as a group of friends or on a date or with family.. its lovely.. well worth it

I live around the corner and have wanted to come here for ages they don't take bookings, but you can go for a drink nearby, and they'll notify you when the table is ready. We had Mexcal margharitas, which were fantastic. The food is the real star of the show . Fresh hand-made blue corn tortillas. Amazing fillings - the lamb, musbroom, and fish tacos were particular fabourites. It's some of the tastiest mushrooms I've ever eaten. The staff are lovely and the service is relaxed. I will definitely be back again soon and regularly.

This place blew me out of the water. I loved their sauces, especially the habanero mango turmeric. The owner is inspired honestly, each dish was cooked with love, and presented with professionalism. Come here; order everything. And a margarita

Some of the best, most authentic Mexican tacos in the UK! I recommend the Chorizo Vampiro tacos, they were amazing. Great service, but make sure to get there right when they open because there is ultra-high demand for these succulent tacos. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WOW. you’d do yourself a disservice to pass up a visit to this establishment. chorrito not only heavily competes with tacos i’ve had in socal/mexico, but is a clear winner across. best food i’ve had in recent memory. and the owners are delightful. don’t sleep on chorrito. well done!!!

Sold out of 1 of the 2 meat options by half 6 on a Saturday. Pretty pricey, small plates compared to other taco options the area.

Excellent tacos, delicious margaritas, great vibe. Everything's made fresh right in front of you. It's tempting to spend all evening there ordering more rounds of tacos and drinks. Also everything is gluten free for whom it may concern.

Simple quality dining. Counter seating is ideal for solo diners. Friendly staff and food cooked to order.

Would totally recommend! Our visit was so tasty and filling, we thought we might have to joyfully roll home. We also got to meet the owner, Dan, super lovely guy who helped us with hot sauce pairings and most of our orders!

Best spot for true Mexican food in Edinburgh. The owners use their travel knowledge to create a genuine reflection of foods from across Mexico. The menu changes and is fresh, as does the drinks menu - mezcal is a lovely option here. The one consistent is the service and atmosphere - the owners make it homely and a lovely dinner spot. Rare to find jarittos in the UK too.

Fantastic hand-pressed tortillas and fillings with great service. Their hot sauce selection is brilliant - highly recommend trying all.

Great atmosphere and I really appreciated the music. The food was really nice as well and adding the amazing sauces on the top of that creates a delightful experience.

I’ve been wanting to visit this place for ages and it was just as good as I thought it would be. Delicious tacos and a wonderful selection of drinks; I was really happy with the non-alcoholic options. Purchased a couple of sauces too! 10/10.

Been three times now, different menu options each time, everything has been fabulous. Normally a total carnivore, but some of the vegetarian options we've tried have knocked it out the park. So much so that I would happily order over meat options. Best to share and try a bit of everything. Can't recommend enough. Oh, and it's really reasonable priced also!

This place was amazing - small portions of delicious mexican food cooked before your eyes. Also, they had lovely margaritas. What else can you ask for?

Delicious, freshly-made tacos. They had my favourite Jarritos fizzy drinks, and the margaritas looked great too. I liked that they had a small, considered menu with everything made with care to order. The staff were friendly and the table around the bar was a good use of the space. Looking forward to visiting again. Limited (but delicious) vegan options. Would love to have more so I could go back more often! 🙏

The food is absolutely delicious. Such depth of flavour without being heavy. Tastes really fresh and you can tell it's been made with top quality ingredients. Really friendly staff.

Amazing little gem of a place! Limited seating, with most seating being at the kitchen bar, which adds a really intimate element and feels like private dining while you watch your food being prepared. A lot of passion and care goes into each delicious plate, and our dietary preferences were taken into consideration as well. Reasonably priced (especially for the quality and atmosphere!), locally sourced where possible, and full of flavour. Hot sauces are also delicious - our favourite was the Chipotle & Pineapple.

Well what can I say about this place that hasn't already been said. This place was such a surprise to us ( myself and my Daughter) first time in Edinburgh and I was very anxious about looking for somewhere with my specific dietary needs. I found this place on a Gluten free app. When we got there we were a little hesitant to go inside as we expected a bigger restaurant with more tables. It had only one table and the rest was high stools with counter top seats. But we decided to give it a go and we are so glad we did. The owners were so friendly and welcoming and explained the menu so well. It was a pleasure to watch them prepare and cook the food which was absolutely delicious. The sauces which are made by themselves were mind blowing..in a good way! I would have no hesitation in recommending this place. 100% quality 👌

Leith walk welcomes foodies with this chic tacos shop. There is only one table and the counter bar for around 8 people to sit and observe the fresh preparation of tacos. Suggesting from friend, I tried their meaty tacos barbacoa(brisket) and LA biscuit (chorizo, guacamole). The barbacoa is hot and spicy no need for extra hot sauce. The overall tacos leans towards savory flavours. The star that surprised me is the chipotle mushroom mulita. The sweetness of mushroom and the cheese blended in my mouth which I think all the flavours are deliciously balanced. The hot sauce is offered on the bar which for me I really like the pineapple garlic , and especially habanero mango (yellow bottle) . These two offer some sweetness which compatibly compliment the meaty tacos. The prices are a little bit high but the vibe, sounds and mood are cozy. The owner is very friendly. The cooking process can take times so don’t starve yourself before coming in. They normally accept walk in but on weekend you can leave a phone number if it’s full. Highly recommend to try this small gem in Leith.

The most delightful owner, who got all his inspiration from his trip to Mexico. All the ingredients are locally acquired and the hotsauces are home made and verry good & enjoyable spicy. 10/10 would recommend everyone to eat here.

Loved this place! The tacos were so delicious and you could watch them being meticulously made with care in front of you. The set up of the restaurant is small - bar seating and I think one small table at the front, so it’s informal and likely you’ll have to wait for a slot, but it’s worth it. On top of wonderful food, they also make their own hot sauces in-house. I recommend ordering some tortillas while you wait so you can test them all out. Loved talking to the team there, the place is new and they’re all working hard on what seems like a real passion project for them, they loved talking about the menu, the set up of the place and even the detail of all the specially commissioned pottery and plate-ware. Can’t wait to get back here.

Where do I even begin, this was an absolute delight. We were one of the first in on the day and even though the owner (i think) was manning the ship on his own he still took the time to explain the dishes to us, talk about the sauces and the trials and tribulations of bulk ordering glass bottles lol. Sitting up at the bar was a lovely experience as you could see the incredible food being made before your own eyes but nothing could prepare me for the flavour journey he took me on. The Cubey Rubey is nothing short of spectacular! You've got to check this place out should you ever be in Edinburgh!

Great little kitchen and restaurant. Staffed by two super friendly people who cooked some amazing food (which changes often). They're new, and working out all the details, the food and service was amazing and I highly recommend it!

Tried a few dishes (quesadilla, mojo beef enchilada, venison hot dog, breakfast taco) and all were fantastic, made even better by the selection of hot sauces available to try. Staff are really friendly as well. Always good to have more great Mexican food in Edinburgh.

Dawn and Dan clearly know their stuff. These two have created a precious little cantina that you just have to visit. The hot sauces are works of art, and they let you try every one which is a nice experience. The food is so delicious, I tried to Heuvos rancheros and the Salsa Roja taco and was so pleased with both. They even have a little loyalty card for each taco you buy. Do yourself a favour and go check this place out!!

Popped in on the very first morning they were open because I've been looking forward to this concept since I first heard about it a few months ago. As an expat from California, I've been very much missing these kinds of flavours. I had a couple of vegetarian breakfast tacos that were excellently prepared with great textures and full of flavour! I had the option of three different sauces to try – all were excellent and very different (my current favourite is the chipotle-pineapple). I need to come back for lunch because those options look fantastic as well. Tequila and mezcal are coming soon, too! Owners are absolutely lovely people. Give them a try!
