I'm bought my parents a gift card for their Christmas and they finally got around to booking their meal here. There were still seats available, so I decided to join, along with some family friends (a party of 6). Sadly my parents couldn't make it due to an illness but Louisa was so understanding and went out of her way to accommodate us. The venue is in a charming flat in the heart of Leith Shore. I felt like I was visiting a friend of a friend and immediately felt comfortable. Having never dined like this before I was a little apprehensive. Luisa will put you at ease the second she greets you. The food was an absolute delight! Dish after dish of carefully thought through flavour infusions that I would never have imagined. The octopus was a personal highlight, with the skate and cheese sauce a close second. If you like seafood, Luisa's is not to be missed! We all had a fantastic time and I can't wait to hear what my folks think of it. Arrivederci, Luisa

I cannot stress this enough: put down whatever it is you are doing now and get on the phone to book a table here. You will not regret it. You are seated in a flat in a front room which serves as a dining room, with three tables and what looks like a dozen covers, top. The food comes on a set tasting menu and is frankly off the charts - it's that good. Sardinia being an island obviously means that the food will be *of the sea* and it doesn't disappoint for a second. Luisa's ability in the kitchen is a marvel to behold. Everything that came out was fantastic. In fact the starters were so good we didn't have time (or the inclination) to photograph them. Stars of the show: pasta and prawns, the sardines (oh the sardines!!), cod cheek wrapped in prosciutto, and the potato and prawn, but really you could have chosen anything. It's fine dining without the excesses: you'll not get dry ice, laser beams and spotlights here, But what you will get is sensationally well-prepared food by a chef who is at the top of her game. Oh yes. Bring your own wine!

Sardinia meets Scotland is an utterly wonderful culinary experience. Luisa’s interaction from our booking and wine pairing advice prior to our arrival to a most warm welcome on the day was hugely appreciated. Luisa produced and guided us through her beautifully curated 8 course Sardinian tasting menu which was utterly delectable and one of our best dining experiences during our trip to Edinburgh. The little touches such as the sun dried tomatoes home made bread and olive oil from her parent’s farm in Sardinia added a wonderful personal depth to the experience. We honestly couldn’t recommend Luisa and her supper club enough. Five Stars !

Stunningly good!!!! There aren't enough superlatives to adequately describe what Luisa serves up! This isn't fussy, chefy, deconstructed or daft...it's deliscious Mediterranean cooking! Close your eyes and taste a mouthful and you're sitting by the waterside in southern Italy eating where all the discerning locals eat. Luisa is super organised, has all the right dishes and cutlery and all the accoutrements like fab olive oil come from her family in Sardinia. She is also a wonderful, welcoming hostess. Culinary diamonds like this never last so go quickly before it's gone and we have to spend the evening shivering in some fancy Georgian edifice wondering if our main course is the right way up and longing for sunnier climes and welcomes!!

What a find!! Luisa is the perfect host, with Giuseppe in the kitchen creating a superb blend of cuisine combing produce from Scotland and Sardinia. We were with six other friends (there were only two other tables of two) and we had a wonderful evening. Tremendous value for money for an 8-course tasting menu, bringing your own wine.

I must admit that I wasn't sure about this because it is quite an unusual set up. However, as others have said, I can't wait to go back. We had a lovely meal - one of the most enjoyable I have ever had - in relaxed friendly surroundings. Luisa gave a description of each dish and her enthusiasm for the cuisine was infectious. each one was more delicious and flavourful than the next. I really cannot recommend this highly enough.

Bittersweet is glorious. Absolutely exquisite cocktails, delicious small plates of Italian food and detailed and attentive service. The venue is beautiful and the staff were passionate and expressive in their shared mission to ensure we had a wonderful time and experienced a sensory explosion of flavour in everything we drank and ate. Visiting from London I was pleasantly shocked that the bill was so reasonable for such a feast in flavour. I honestly can’t think of a meal I’ve enjoyed more and am already looking forward to returning when back in Edinburgh for the festival. Leith has a new jewel in its culinary crown and it’s Bittersweet.

An unassuming spot at the bottom of Dundas Street that offers one of the best wine selections in Edinburgh matched by brilliant food. Service was fantastic too.
