An unassuming spot at the bottom of Dundas Street that offers one of the best wine selections in Edinburgh matched by brilliant food. Service was fantastic too.

I'd read wonderful reviews of this café restaurant and I wasn't disappointed, I chose this restaurant for my partner's birthday and we both had a really great evening, the staff were lovely, the Father and son who run it couldn't have been nicer. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, ample helpings, we ate far too much!! Lovely decor snd relaxed atmosphere, I'd certainly go back, I'd take friends and family there. . Thank you to the lovely people who run it and their staff for making our evening so memorable.

A fine breakfast, perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, toast delicately coated in the finest artisan butter, with ripe roasted tomatoes on the side. My salivatory senses were working overtime and were aided by aromatic coffee and essential San Pellegrino sparkling water. We had our wedding lunch at One20 and had the most incredible day! Kyle and the team helped us plan a lovely lunch for 20 in the front of the cafe. The food, wine and service was exceptional and made our day very special. They even accommodated our friends 6 week old baby. Thank you!

This was a lovely dining restaurant just a short walk from our Airbnb. Very attentive staff. The chef came over a few times to make sure everything was to our liking.

We really liked the lasagna with lettuce and gnocchi with mushrooms, delicious. For starters, olive oil with a baguette, friendly staff, although they looked skeptically at the Lidl bag. We don't speak English very well, but we can communicate. The tiramisu was served with alcohol like a real "Italian" and sprinkled with black chocolate was simply heavenly. It's worth eating at One20.

This time Peter Zemmer's Sauvignon Blanc was removed from the menu! He was up🤷🏻‍♂️ What a shame, because how delicious this wine was!! But,...Kyle Reid came up with a surprising solution, outside the menu he had taken a Chardonnay Reserva from the same house from the cellar. He only had 2 left (for special guests?) but what a party!! A chardonnay that tastes soft and accessible, but the aftertaste is full and woody but absolutely not overpowering, comparable to a top Chardonnay from Jordan (South Africa) Of course the food was fantastic again. After this 4th time dining, the experience was consistently great! I'd love to come back!

Fantastic wine, delicious, honest Italian food, very attentive service. Very good sense of hospitality. This wine bar is easily accessible on foot from the center and is more than worth the walk. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed.

Well it's Deliveroo on steroids. I was passing One20 on my way back to Eigg so I called in and treated myself to a takeaway lasagne. It was chilled and I kept it in a cool box till I got home to the island. I resisted the temptation to have it for lunch and put it in the freezer for a couple of days. I could wait no longer so defrosted it while I opened a chilled bottle of their amazing Copper Pino Grigio - OMG! what a pairing. The ambience was missing as was the wonderful service but it didn't detract from the enjoyment of their world famous lasagne. I'm back in Edinburgh next Saturday, you won't need three guesses to work out where I'm going for dinner. Can't wait

Aanrader!! Fantastische wijnen met een kwalitatief zeer goede keuken en zeer attente bediening! Het bezoek in 2019 was fantastisch en nu in 2024 opnieuw verrast. Het interieur is vernieuwd, de wijnen van top kwaliteit en de lasagne van Angus beef is nog beter dan toen en die was al top in 2019. De wijnbar ligt buiten het toeristendeel maar is de korte wandeling meer dan waard. En vind je dat te ver dan is er nog altijd de Uber. Wij zijn gestart met een glas champagne, daarbij kregen we 2 heerlijke (warme) hapjes van het huis. Daarna een anti-pasti, hoofdgerecht en de tiramisu als afsluiter. Ook hierbij een een drankje van het huis. Bij ons volgende bezoek aan Edingburgh ga ik hier zeker weer eten. Mocht je dat ook willen, wel reserveren.

As ever, a super Luncheon at One20. As a regular customer I am always amazed what a super ambience the establishment has - whatever time of the day or time of the year there is a most delightfully relaxing atmosphere. This is due to Ronnie and Kyle but the rest of the team work so hard to ensure a good dining experience. Always highly recommended.

Great place for a simple meal or something to drink, a good, very pleasant atmosphere and the best part is that it has good service, friendly and attentive staff. The best coffee in town!

On our first visit to Edinburgh we went to this place for breakfast due to its proximity to the accommodation. The treatment of the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and freshly made. Don't hesitate to order the poached eggs with avocado and the yogurt with granola and fruit. Very pleasant atmosphere and cared for in the smallest detail. The price may be a little high but it was worth it.

Fantastic food and top service. Host who has all the time and explains everything well. If we come back to Edinburgh we will definitely eat here again.

Wonderful charcuterie, really good quality produce. We love a board and have had them all around Europe, this one is up there with the best. Only thing we could give as constructive feedback is for us, the picked veg was on the soft side but appreciate that is personal preference. Decent selection of good wines. Exceptional service from Holly (Thank you) and were greeted with lovely attentive service from the maitre d. Should say this is a smarter establishment where you should make an effort. Saying that as an English lesbian couple, but they didn't judge us for walking in, in our walking gear, with suitcases, straight off the plane. It is not pretentious so do not be put off. We would Happily return. X

We went there for tea/coffee. We were dealt with quickly and politely and the drinks were fine. The premises are fresh and modern and have a gallery feel with a number of pictures on display, some for sale. A really nice place to stop on a walk down the hill from George Street to the Botanics.

Probably the best 'cafe' we have been to. Terribly accommodating. We were concerned we would be 'those guests' and we were left feeling exceptionally well hosted. We were quite taken back as to how excellent the food was, highlight was the burratta. Thank you Max and the friendly Chef who came to say hello.

Omg, just had the most lovely night. Bit quiet as it was a rainy Monday but the food was incredible and didn't notice it was quieter as the background music was so good. Food was beautiful can't recommend highly enough, definitely one to try - stone's throw away from town and although I'm not a local have visited Edinburgh loads and spent a lot time in various establishments this has to be one of the best so far. Not to missed.

We are twice at this lovely wine cafe - once for dinner and once for breakfast. The food was outstanding, there was a fantastic wine list and the breakfast was just what we needed after a late night. Staff were friendly and attentive and we were even treated to a mini Bucks Fizz on the house which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend.

Nice cozy cafe with a proper hot kitchen. Prices on the high side for cafe setting and service, but quite and comfortable close to the city centre.

Top class from the moment we arrived - a warm welcome “sit where ever you like” (I really luv this !!!) The service and food were only excellent and well worthy of the awards achieved to date. How refreshing to find a restaurant that can offer fabulous food at any time of the day. Just back from Lunch at One20 Wine Cafe having been able to choose from a full menu of beautifully prepared dishes - Scampi Thermidor with Fries and vegetables for example! As always, first class service so an enjoyable visit guaranteed.

If you want it, they've got it. From coffee, to great food, deli meats, cheeses and oils to wonderful and rare alcohol. The owners and staff at this place go above and beyond to deliver amazing service. The owners on multiple occasions have gone out of their way to source me ingredients or alcohol that they didn't have in stock already and have been able to get hold of it in a matter of days. The cafe its self has a great atmosphere and ambience and is great for all occasions. One of Edinburgh's best cafes for sure; would highly recommend!

How lucky to be only 5 minutes away from this super establishment but well worth a taxi fare if you’re further afield. Another splendid Supper with Anchovies to start and then Lamb Tagine. As ever, fabulous service by Max with Ronnie and Kyle, the Owners, always present to ensure that all customers receive first class service. Really highly recommended..

If you are in Edinburgh DO NOT MISS this wonderful restaurant!!! My husband and I had a fantastic dinner and are planning to go back for lunch tomorrow. I ate the monkfish medallions and my husband had lamb tagine followed by shared sticky toffee pudding. Every bite was truly amazing!! Very much enjoyed Italian style cuisine in a nice contemporary restaurant. Excellent burrata, was more a main course. Nice anchovies. Very nice Chicken Milanese, and Monkfish. Fabulous Tiramisu. I’m a bit of a connoisseur of tiramisu, and I order it across the world. This was possibly THE BEST. Nice drinks list. Service is perfect. The owner managers, father and son, are friendly and take their work seriously. We look forward to visiting Edinburgh again so that we can return for more great food. The walk from the centre of Edinburgh is very worth it.

Best lasagne in Edinburgh ! This was a delightful find located between Stockbridge and the city centre. A small but interesting menu will pleasantly surprise you. Great selection of wines and you can sample many of them before ordering. Servers were particularly kind and attentive.

We mistook One20 for the pasta place down the street. The elegant owner offered and walked us to it. We liked him so much in that short time that we walked back to his place. “Well, this is the best Italian restaurant in Edinburgh…” Indeed, the eggplant parmagiano was light as a cloud, the artichoke tapenaud did not disappoint, the salads refreshing and the rhubarb tart, crispy and bright. The wine list is impressive and the market next door most inviting. Headed there tomorrow. C’e vediamo!

Another super early Supper in One20 on a beautiful Edinburgh evening. Couldn’t resist the Monkfish Medallions with a lovely Mushroom sauce As ever, fabulous service ensures a delightful dining experience. Highly recommended, as ever!

We've been coming here since it opened, and it's as good now as it was then. Casual but not trendy, central but not touristy, good value but not cheap. Perfection.

Luxury experience, good food, great ambiance.

We came here for dinner and had a lovely time! The atmosphere is very peaceful, and the restaurant is extremely clean and makes you feel comfortable. The charcuterie board was delicious, as well as the sun-dried tomato tapenade and almonds. I had the potato gnocchi, which was a special, and it was great!! In a nice creamy mushroom sauce. It was safe to say that I was stuffed, as I didn’t finish my meal. The chef came over and made sure that everything was to our liking, which I thought was very nice! Would definitely come back.

Gleich zu Beginn....ein herzliches Dankeschön für diesen genialen Abend. Wir wurden bedient und verwöhnt wie Könige. Ronnie der Chef selbst hat uns durch diesen Abend geführt. Obwohl es am Montag gewisse Speisen von der Karte nicht gibt, hat er sie speziell für uns zubereitet. Die Auswahl an Weinen ist einfach nur spitze und erstklassig. Vom Hauptgang bis zum Dessert einfach nur vom feinsten. Wer einen Abend außerhalb von Pubs und den normalen Restaurants genießen möchte geht ins One20. Nochmals ein großes Dankeschön an Ronnie und sein Team für diesen wunderschönen Abend.

I don’t normally post comments on review sites but this restaurant/Cafe has pressed all my buttons! A father and son team with great taste. The menu is not extensive but what they do is sublime, tasty and of exceptional quality I would recommend to anyone who appreciates fine quality food in relaxed surroundings

A lovely spot to while away a couple of hours. The shop has all sorts of tempting Italian food & wine and the café had wonderful food. I've had 2 meals here and both have been really good. The daily specials had moussaka today which was delicious, served with a good side salad. Also scampi thermador, also very tasty. Good selection of wine and advice to help choose if you want it. Friendly & helpful staff. Looking forward to visiting again.

A charming mix of old world charm with modern day simplicity of food and wine. The service from the staff has always been informed and friendly.....a taste of rose port, a first! led to a happy purchase of the entire bottle from their Italian produce shop....a case of trying before I bought!

A lovely place for a coffee and a quick bite, or for something a little more substantial with a huge choice of wines to accompany your meal. Warm welcome, modern classy interior. They have a shop nextdoor which stocks all the delights you can have in the cafe and much more. Their main focus is on Italian imported food and wine.

I had a great experience visiting the One20 Wine Cafe, where I felt pampered by the good service and delicious food! Ronnie and his son show a passion for their food and wine the translates into the quality of their products. Their warm and driven personalities made us feel very welcome. Everything ranging from the appetisers, various courses of food, and the desserts was superb and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

My family and I stayed in a flat nearby during our Edinburgh visit came here nearly everyday. The smashed avocado was amazing - so fresh and yummy with really good portions! The place is super clean, very modern with beautiful accent throughout and service is fast, with super friendly owners and staff!

We had just arrived in Edinburgh and were incredibly hungry so we left our accommodation and stumbled upon this establishment which was 2 minutes away from where we were staying. After initially being told that they had no availability we headed off to find somewhere else, one of the waiters then ran up the road to catch us up to advise us that a table outside had become available and we were welcome to that which we accepted. The food which we ordered was very good, in my opinion a tad overpriced but it was Edinburgh so was to be expected. The waiter who ran after us and served us during our stay was absolutely superb and a credit to the business. Well done and keep up the good work.

The food at One20 is beyond comparison. I enjoyed the best eggplant parmesan I have ever tasted. My husband, who recently suffered a stroke and has difficulty communicating, found a way to say that his lasagne was the best he’d ever had. In addition to delicious food, prepared by the restaurant’s gracious and talented proprietor, the ambiance is lovely, the service excellent. I sing the praises of this restaurant to the skies. We’ve just been for our first visit after a recommendation and couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff, food and wine were outstanding. The atmosphere they have created in there leads to a relaxed enjoyable dining experience. We will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed our time at this quaint cheese and wine cafe. There are other dishes on the menu, and they have a daily specials menu. The cheese and wine complimented each other really well. The staff were so friendly and professional and all checked that we were happy with our experience. We will make One20 our new local!
