Fantastic great quality produce. Very tasty food, attentive staff and good atmosphere. Our son has moved to a flat just around the corner, I think we'll be back.

Possibly the best Italian meal I have had in Scotland. Great menu options, fantastic food and great service. Closest thing you’ll get to Italy here! The delizia is possibly even better than the original version from Maiori - very impressed and would love to return when next in Edinburgh.

Great food and brilliant service. The ravioli was fabulous and the seafood (pesca Torá) also great! The staff were very attentive, knowledgable and friendly.

Just wow! If you are in Edinburgh you need to book this place! The food is amazing, the staff are amazing, the atmosphere is lovely. The pasta is fresh, the seafood is to die for & buratta with chocolate shavings is just so so good. Also the cannolo is fresh, nice & crispy, not like some where they have been sat foa ages with the filling becoming soggy. 100% book here it is such a gem!

Small, private and familiar environment. Neapolitan cuisine dishes, excellent and well presented. Friendly staff, friendly owner. It deserves it.

We had a lovely meal of genuine Neapolitan food. So fresh! So beautifully presented by enthusiastic staff. We had a starter and main course with a glass of Merlot from Sicily.

Highly recommend the grilled fish plate. All dishes had a nice bit of twist to them. Delicious. Very friendly (authentic Italian) and efficient service.

An excellent Italian-run Italian restaurant in Caledonian land. Dishes faithful to traditional Italian recipes cooked with quality ingredients. If you are in Edinburgh and you are Italian, or even if you are not, I highly recommend this place.

Food is phenomenal. Everyone in our party raved about their meals. Service was so friendly and fun. The restaurant is a little small and not the best atmosphere, but the food and servers more than made up for that. Would highly recommend this place!

I think this is one of the finest restaurants in Edinburgh. Walk up a gentle slope for about 5 minutes from Haymarket Station and it will be on your right. It has a bright blue exterior, so you can easily recognize it. It has the triple signature of good food, good service, and good atmosphere. Reservations are required as it is a popular restaurant. The dishes are typical of Neapolitan cuisine and are made with fresh seafood. I think what is noteworthy is the excellent customer service at this store. The staff at this store are not formal and provide very pleasant customer service. One female staff member in particular was very friendly and wonderful. My whole family has become a fan of this store. I will definitely visit again! !

Beautifully cooked seafood (Mare nel piano; Grigliata Di peace) and pasta (lobster linguine; paccheri with crab)! The first time we went, we had two kids with us. The staff were very polite and kind to the kids. The second time we went, the staff remembered us and greeted us like old friends. Will definitely return.

I didn’t know pasta could be this good. I had the Genovese pasta with beef shin and white onions. The richness of the dish was incredible. My guest had the lamb ragu which was also wonderful. The calamari starter was also top class.

Favourite place in the city and it's excellent every time. Their menu is inventive and yet still feels like "good food, done well".

We came for lunch but will be back for dinner . The food was wonderful and deserves to be savoured.The kitchen has obviously prepared each dish with great care .Great suggestions from our waiter.Would highly recommend.

We had the most delicious dinner. Wish I had taken a picture of the menu to have the names of the dishes. Started with the octopus and it was perfect. We had a gnocchi dish with peas and tiny squids that was out of this world. The second dish was pasta with white beans, squash blossoms and herbs. So very delicious. The portions were larger than anticipated and we couldn’t finish. Our only regret! The staff was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was casual but special.

We were here for lunch today, friendly and quiet environment. On Thursdays for lunch they have a good deal with a choice of first, second and dessert menus. It was all truly delicious! For those who want a taste of the flavors of Naples in Edinburgh, this is the right place to book!

The service was super amazing. The staff were very friendly. We liked the “Customer First” attitude. The food was very delicious. The best restaurant for sea food in Edinburgh Haymarket area. We must come back to this restaurant when we visit Edinburgh again.

Food was Amazing - we had the crab pasta, the ragu (lamb) pasta and the ravioli for the first course. For the second course we had the grilled seafood platter for two (everything was made to perfection except for the tuna steak - it was too salty in my opinion).

Food, staff, surroundings excellent. Best seafood to eat in Edinburgh if not Scotland. Loved the friendly interactions of the staff, on hand to help in nice way. Will be back.

What a super lunch me and my husband had today in Locanda de Gusti. Our first visit and won't be our last. Food was delicious, portions just right, house red wine so good, service was top notch and price very reasonable. We will definitely be back and will bring the family too. A wee gem of a restaurant. A lovely pasta seafood restaurant, just 5 minutes walk from Haymarket. Really personal service with just a sample menu on the website so a surprise as to what the menu is when arriving. We'd booked online and we were lucky to get a table, despite it being a Wednesday night it was fully booked. Staff were very attentive and clearly love the food they create. We had three courses each and came away very contented. We will be back, highly recommend!

This restaurant has great reviews and for good reason. I had the Linguine with mixed seafood and a glass of aglianico red wine. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the dish was so good! It reminded me of the food I've had on the Italian Riveria. I had ordered the bread service and used the bread to soak up the sauce. It is on the pricier side but worth it!

This was a highlight of our weekend in Edinburgh! We stumbled upon it by chance after arriving at our Airbnb for a late 9 PM sitting. The staff were attentive and friendly, making our dining experience fabulous. Despite being the last to leave, we never felt hurried. The seafood was impeccable, especially the seafood platter, which was large and perfect for sharing. The delicious Italian wines and heavenly lobster, all very reasonably priced, made it an unforgettable meal.

Lovely quality fresh fish served simply

Went here based on online reviews. I can't understate how amazing it was. Everything was cooked perfectly. The pork daube IS the best pork I have ever had. Appetizer was amazing, dessert was amazing, even the coffee with dessert was perfect (I am a coffee snob). I have paid twice as much for far less quality.

Locanda De Gusti provided us with the best dining experience during an 8-day tour of Edinburgh, London, and Amsterdam. The food was simply amazing: a seafood extravaganza of shellfish and ocean fish paired with a simple linguine in butter and garlic. The cozy ambiance, the extraordinary prompt and friendly service and the food, the food, the food. Make this restaurant first on your list when visiting Edinburgh!

Very good experience.We had a mixed party of 17 which included 3 Italian colleagues - obviously going to give their opinion on Italian food outside of Italy ! Majority was ok but a couple of the dishes didn't realise expectations. Seafood platter was magnificent.

I had a wonderful time in this little restaurant! The staff are all very friendly and passionate. 10 out of 10! When we arrived the waitress introduced this restaurant and mentioned that their speciality is fish and seafood and recommended the seafood platter to us right away. You can really tell their persistence on serving freshly caught seafood ingredients daily and will create a different menu everyday. The flavour of the sauce in each dish won't be stealing away the flavour of the seafood and the cooking method really wants you to taste the freshness of the ingredients. By far the Sword Fish is the most surprising!!! At the end they even put your check with white chocolate on a real polished shell, which is really cute!!! I definitely recommend it to all seafood lovers! If you want lobster, they suggest you to call them and see if they caught any on that day. So Good Luck!!

This is a real home away from home for any Italian! Great, comforting and traditional food. The atmosphere is perfect and the staff make you feel right at home and are happy to oblige any requests. I couldn't recommend this place more highly for any occasion - a casual meal, a special occasion, anything! Be sure to book ahead as they get super booked up and there aren't that many tables. Thank you for making my partners birthday dinner special!

Really friendly welcome. Attentive service. A good atmosphere. A varied food choice with the option for starter or main course on a few items . Food very fresh and good balance of tastes and textures. Well presented. Nice little extras along the way. A little taster to start and a Lemoncillo and a chocolate to finish. We booked for lunch after the Murrayfield Stadium tour. Small place but service and food amazing, friendly helpful staff. Food amazing, fish second to none, wine just the best!! Would go again anytime. Quite expensive but worth every penny.

Excellent! Open for 26 years! The staff speaks 🇫🇷. The boss offered us an appetizer and the almond digestive. Delicious dish.... The only problem: too noisy in the evening! To the one who shouts the loudest!

Amazing restaurant that lives up to the hype. As an Italian, I’m always in search for authentic Italian food - Locanda De Gusti does just that. I had an incredible seafood linguine and enjoyed a wonderful service from fellow Italians like myself. The whole experience made me feel like home. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

This is like dining in someone’s home who is an expert cook! Both seekers of a fish platter in the UK & abroad but neither a big fan of pasta we were thrilled to find this place offered two! Was also an education on the different foods from different regions of Italy. Not a pizza in sight! Variety of diners but it maintained a personal feel with little tables in alcoves. Presented with cucumber, tomato & bread salad with lush olive oil. I found myself concerned I’d eat too much before “actual food” because it was so good. Chef came to inform us of fish of the day that would feature on the fish platter & was good banter. Five varieties of fish, langoustine, scallops came with med veg-a huge serving that includes wedges of potato. The crustacean in rich tomato broth Wa an enormous bowl of delight! Massive toasted slabs of bread were used to mop this up. It was so moorish that even when all the sea critters were fished out, we squashed the potatoes in to shovel more in our bellies. Each platter was around £40 each Affogato was a soothing easy sweet treat followed by a coffee. Even for this non coffee slurper, it was good! So good we enquired about it and again the staff & chef spoke with passion seeming to genuinely keep no secrets & all the more giving that homely friends feel. A cute bottle holding two shots of Limoncello surprised us after paying & was a great palate cleanser. This place is a hug on a cold January evening.

Absolutely perfect food and topped with heart warming service. Totally authentic Napolitan food. As someone from Glasgow, with Napolitan in-laws, i really felt like i was back in my boyfriend’s house in Napoli. Food was incredibly tasty. Service makes you feel like family. I can't even remember how many dozens of times I've eaten here in the last few years. A truly unique restaurant, which has it all: a cuisine that is both intensely personal and deeply rooted in tradition; high quality produce; a lovely and joyous and efficient service team; a generosity and a degree of flexibility that is exceedingly rare nowadays; affordable prices; and a decor that is as unique as the cuisine. I just concluded another year of eating at the Locanda: let's hope it may continue for a long time - it seems too good to be true!

No words can describe how amazing and delicious is Locanda de Gusti. A truly Italian/Neapolitan gem in Edinburgh. Winner or Quattro Ristoranti (A SKY Italian TV programme) of the most original Italian food abroad. No food adaptation and the truly Italian experience. Amazing staff and chef Rosario. If you want to eat real Italian food. This is the place. Anything from the menu it’s worth trying. I’d recommend anything with seafood as they specialise on this. But as well as the meaty dishes such as Pasta alla genovese e Orecchiette with lamb. The pasta is cooked at the moment and not pre boiled. The sauces are very rich. Just like home. Thank you for Locanda the Gusti for never disappointing and serving dishes that immerse you to the real Italian experience.

Pur avendo vinto tra 4 ristoranti italiani oltre a non esserci un menù scritto in italiano, non c'era nemmeno un piatto decente e comunque tutto molto caro. Abbiamo scelto di farci fare dei semplicissimi spaghetti al pomodoro per altro molto buoni.
