My husband and I were visiting Scotland from the states and this was our last night. I wanted pizza. We always try to find off the beaten path restaurants because they are usually better than your typical tourist area restaurants. My husband found this place and one look at the menu and I knew I was getting something other than pizza. From the first bit of the focaccia to the last bite of dessert it was amazing! My husband had the tagliatelle Marsala and I ordered the Panzerotti Porcini and we shared. I wish we had tried the pizza but we had no room left for another bite. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to these travelers with no advanced booking. From the hostess to the manager. If you ever find yourself in the Edinburgh airport area GO HERE!

Very friendly staff. The pizzas, risotto and paws were very good. The staff was even accommodating when we were in a hurry to finish our meal and brought the end of our meal to us very quickly. I recommend 👍

Friendly service, delicious good value food. Restaurant kept in good condition. It gets hot sat next to the front windows though- perhaps there could be some form of shade provided eg blinds or film. Otherwise a great local place to go.

Excellent decaf coffee. Most places that do decaf give you a poor substitute but this coffee was lovely. Excellent service too.

As per previous reviews, we booked our time and we were warmly welcomed on arrivel, and given the option to choose a table, after our order, the drinks arrived quickly, and the food was there soon afterwards. The service was very good, the menu was well explained, and all the meals were delicious / moreish. We will be back. (Booking a table after 7 is advisable)

What a great place, family run, friendly and accommodating. We turned up as a party of 4, they queezed us in. The special was fantastic, all four of us had it. We deffo go again.. but make sure you book

Tenía ravioles de hongos pero había tanta mantequilla. Como vegetariano estoy acostumbrado a tener pocas opciones, pero generalmente hay algo que puedo tener. No quiero pizza, y había un plato de pasta. El número de platos de pescado también se ha cortado. Por favor, mire el menú de nuevo e incluya algunos platos vegetarianos sabrosos.

Finding the same restaurant twice while exploring places to eat outside your town is unusual. Ficos Bistro was amazing. The food was excellent, with fantastic flavors and reasonable prices. The atmosphere was good and the service was great. Every penny was well spent; I couldn't recommend it more. The Risotto Porcini and Pizza Emiliano are two options you must try.

Popped in on a Sunday evening with a few friends for a meal. We booked but I’m not sure it was 100% necessary although it did get pretty busy later on. The menu was pretty large and they had lots of different options - I went for the tortellini which ended up being delicious. The staff were helpful with any requests or questions from us. Apple pie was good but not the best I’ve ever had - it was more like an apple cake

The Sicilian chef is a guarantee. Fast service and good, authentic Italian dishes. 10 minutes from the airport, it is perfect for stopping for good Italian food.

First time coming here. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely food, all hot and fresh and delicious and at such reasonable prices. It’s a real hidden gem. Highly recommend. It’s worth noting there is a car park, but it’s quite small and tight so if you can’t park there just park in the street.

Discovered this from surfing the web for a restaurant. Liked the look of the menu and decided to visit on a Sunday lunchtime. We were able to get a table for two and had the cod wrapped in prosciutto. It was delicious, followed by tiramisu. Lovely meal and nice atmosphere. Definitely will be returning for more.

Service was amazing, really friendly people and the food took no time at all. The food was the best I've had in a VERY long time, my Margherita pizza was perfect in my opinion, my sister loved her chicken goujons with chips, my mum loved her dish but idk how to spell it so I'm not gonna try to, my dad loved his dish too and the desserts were incredible! My mum and I both had tiramisu which was incredible, my dad had sticky toffee pudding which was amazing too, and so was my sisters hot chocolate fudge cake! The atmosphere was really comfortable and welcoming, very well decorated and taken care of, I loved it! All in all it's an easy 10/10 and would recommend to anyone that happens to be looking for food in the area

My goodness what a find. I looked for the highest rated restaurant in the area at 4.8. Fabulous worth a 5 and I admit to being the customer from hell. The menu is very authentic Italian and not expensive compared with down town Edinburgh. And it is only a few miles from the M9 Newbridge junction. Go visit and you can book on line.

I often come to ficos and always the food is amazing and delicious (I’ve tried a bit of everything on that menu!). Service is outstanding, staff is always happy, professional and friendly mainly with the wee ones! Totally recommend and will defo be back soon!

Great Italian restaurant, perfect service, kind and friendly staff. We ordered the Caesar salad and the pancetta tortellini, both delicious and a good quantity. It has small but free parking in the back! Highly recommended!

We ate there with the children. Very good value for money. The pizzas, pasta and tiramisu were very good. Be careful, the pizzas are small. If you are very hungry, consider pasta instead! The service was great.

I had to leave another review for this place. The fish cookery, yet again, was incredible. I've never had cod so good. My 13yo daughter loved her mushroom panzerotti and the cannoli were great fun on a sunny walk home. Top marks, I should have left an extra tip for the chef.

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it!! It was a family occasion to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. Food was excellent and service was efficient but friendly. Would definitely return!!

Lovely local family owned and run bistro. The staff are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was bouncing as there was an 80th going on at the same time 🤣. Food was perfectly prepared and so tasty! Well priced (especially as my sister paid for it 🤣). Keep your local businesses open by supporting lovely little establishments like this. Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent meal for 10 people. We booked our food in advance and were served drinks on arrival and starters appeared shortly after. Food was excellent and well priced. Parking behind the building was very handy. Definitely recommend.

Whilst the service was faultless and the food was tasty, I've marked it down because of the size of the portions of pasta main dishes. Specifically Penne Piccanti and it probably would have flown under the radar if it had been the lunch-time offer but it's not available at the weekends. It's not the first time this has happened but, at the time, I thought it was a one off. The Ravioli is also pretty sparse, made more obvious because of the huge parcels. I can't comment on any of the other non-pasta mains. We're all tightening our belts, therefore dining out is a treat, and as such the last thing to expect is to be disappointed by the size of the portions.

This was one of the best experiences ever. From the excellent food, the fabulous service and the incredibly fun atmosphere, it was a night to remember! We spoke with many locals prior to booking Ficos, and heard that the food was excellent. After speaking with the manager, Carlo, we decided this was the right place to hold my mum’s 80th birthday party. We were not disappointed! Not only did every person clear their plate, but everyone enjoyed trying other people’s dishes too. From the rich array of entrées that were offered to the fun drinks to the cake that was arranged - it was amazing. Our party ranged from infants to 80 years old and everyone found something that they enjoyed. The restaurant team was amazing and went out of their way to ensure that we all had a great time. Service was on time, and the dishes were excellent. We know that they are great for individual couples and smaller parties, but this was amazing as our party was over 36 people. Again, I highly recommend this restaurant and their team for any event you may have or for just an intimate dinner for two. Thank you to the Ficos staff for making our night memorable.

Went for an impromptu early dinner, first in the door but it deservedly filled up quickly. Exactly as promised, chic Italian bistro, fair prices, some creative menu items, nicely prepared good food.

Excellent food, the seafood pasta was cooked well and very tasty! My wife was pleased, the pizza was also very good ( we are Italian and rather pretentious about Italian food 😄) . I had a very good beef burger , well seasoned and with excellent bread and fries . The staff is very nice, courteous and very professional. Highly recommended!

Restaurant quality for a cafe price. I enjoyed everything here. The dishes were perfectly and delicately prepared (crisp sea bass skin with juicy meat and others), and extremely flavourful.
