They've very recently changed hands which is such a disappointment. The Wee Ovens reputation was built on hand made South African sausage, home baked bread and a personal touch. A labor of love with assortment of unique food but it's sadly been taken over and turned into a regular roll shop but with cheap doughy rolls instead of mortons. Also prepackaged ciabattas sit all day, wrapped in cling film in the sun, if that's what you're into. Really loved this place before but it's a bit disappointing even as a roll shop. Go to bobs bakery across the road for rolls that are cheaper and tastier.

Great wee place, the food is amazing. Eggs Benedict with the best hollandaise sauce and to top it all off the staff were just lovely. I am not local to this wee gem but I will definitely be back soon.

Came here with a friend. There's a good breakfast and lunch menu, although oddly it does not list drinks. I got a eggs florentine and a cappuccino, while my friend got a black coffee and coke. The eggs florentine were just perfect, the yolk was runny, the spinach perfectly cooked and muffin nice warm and slightly toasted. The hollandaise was especially nice, much for yolk and less buttery than typical out of the jar varieties from supermarkets. We were in the cafe for 3 hours and there were no complaints. Great service.

Whilst on the hunt for a traditional cooked breakfast on a drizzly Sunday morning, we stumbled on this wee gem. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time, served with a very nice cup of coffee and a smile. Would highly recommend their Godfather breakfast, if you have the appetite to eat it that is!

An absolute gem in Partick. Amazing service and fresh tasty food. I had the cajun chicken and chorizo shakshuka which was delicious and my husband had a cooked breakfast which was equally as tasty with homemade boerewors sausage. A first time trying this type of sausage and thoroughly enjoyed it. Owner spent a bit chatting with us and was so lovely. Definately be returning soon.

Good coffee and delicious pancakes - one portion was three large pancakes (Scotch pancake style rather than crepes). I had maple syrup and ice cream. Yummy

This is a "find". The atmosphere is friendly, the service very personal and the food freshly prepared and totally delicious. The home made sour dough breads and Pizza are just wonderful. Strong South African influence with Bunny Chow, Boer sausage and great coffee. We will be back!

What can I say except wow! Such a quaint and cosy little cafe in the heart of Glasgow! The shakshuka was one of the best things I have ever eaten, and as an avid foodie, that says a lot. My partner ordered the breakfast which was also amazing! To top our experience off, the lady who served us was lovely, so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Will definitely be returning here when we next visit Glasgow!

Lived in London for 20 years and didn’t find a place like this. Im Scottish, my partner is SA. The menu is fab and they’re looking to go even more authentic, not that they need to. Bunny Chow (bread is home made) was awesome, home made hot chips was a trip back to my childhood in the east end of glasgow. The side sauces were so tasty and spicy hot. Give it a go, well worth it. The owner is spot on and has time to talk.

I lived in Shawlands for 8 months and only entered this welcoming little cafe on my last weekend there. I wish I'd gone sooner! The atmosphere as you walk in is instantly inviting, the staff are really attentive and friendly, and the interior is mesmerizing. We had a coffee and a breakfast bun, all of which were delicious. The value for money here is great, unlike some of the other cafes in the area. We also bought some plants from here that have really brightened up our home. I can't recommend this little place enough. Will definitely go back next time I'm visiting the area!

Visited today for a takeaway coffee and left very disappointed to be honest. £3.40 for a tiny coffee which wasn’t even what I ordered due to lack of attention being paid. The lady seemed very rushed and I could see the wrong type of milk being used, as well as the syrup I had asked for being carelessly fired at the coffee from a distance and totally missing the coffee itself (couldn’t taste it at all). Card machine was plonked in front of me for payment and the lady serving rushed off leaving me just standing there. I tapped my card and didn’t even get an acknowledgment or goodbye 🤷🏻♀️ Lots of better options in the area with great customer service and far lower prices. Poor service and sadly won’t be back!

South side of Glasgow is starting to get a great vibe for fantastic independent coffee shops, but problem is almost all of them are on Victoria Road or Polloskshaw Road. I was walking from Glasgow Green to Queens Park, and was wanting to grab a morning cup of coffee, but all the usual places head to all mean taking a large detour, but when looking around I noticed a coffee shop appear on Cathcart Road. Great little coffee shop that is really inviting. Staff are excellent and will make your order fresh on the spot for you. Most certainly now firmly one of my top go to coffee spot in Glasgow now.
