I would recommend this place 100%. We came in last minute with a group of 11 people and were welcomed indefinitely (without a booking). The food was DELICIOUS, also big portions which are worth the money! On top of that the service was excellent and staff were very welcoming to our dogs😊

Well worth a visit if you’re staying locally. Bit of an awkward entrance which lead us into the toilet 🤣 but having found the correct door we entrée the very small place. As there was nobody there it felt awkward but it was a Wednesday night. However we were greeted by the owner, who was extremely pleasant and welcoming. We ordered some drinks, which were reasonably priced, Tennent’s on draft available. We had their soup of the day which was very flavoursome, rustic - very well done. The chicken wings had a smoky flavour, absolutely delicious and I would recommend. I had a pizza with ham and mushroom, no cheap cheese or mushrooms which you see a lot in places, very good quality ingredients and a base stretched by hand. Very good. I had some feedback about the food and the owner was very interested in what I thought. Though-out the visit they followed all the rules of a good restaurant. Asking how things were, how we felt, if we needed anything else. A gentleman on service was also extremely pleasant. Absolutely give this place a visit and I think they’re doing very well for the local community!

This place is very out of the way. It's like your neighborhood bar where you always went. It was a one woman show when we went. Our cook/waitress/bartender was great. Very friendly, funny and efficient. She immediately informed us of the only remaining steak pie. This WAS the reason we scoped out this place. So we ordered that with chips and peas. We also split a chicken curry, which was nice. The beer tap crapped out, but they still had Magners on tap and bottles. I had a Hobgoblin Ruby, which was lovely. Nice dessert, too. There's a small car park in the back, but not much room. They also have some kind of billiards (like snooker, but smaller, not sure). We would return.

We are staying at the fabulous Cairngorm Lodges and popped into The Airdale for a meal on a quiet Thursday night. Made to feel very welcome by Michelle at this lovely village pub. Our Cocker spaniel Ted was welcomed with open arms and a bowl of water plus some doggie treats !! Very good food cooked to order and quite possibly the best pizza I've ever eaten( and ive sampled a few over the years),along with the tremendous Airedale fries. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem to anyone travelling in the area. Wish we could have stayed longer as Thursday is open mic/music night. Will certainly call again next time we're up this way. Thanks again Michelle, keep up the good work. Tim, Karen and Ted

Popped down for some food and drinks when staying near by. It was incredibly welcoming, with a great atmosphere and brilliant, funny banter from the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious and the drinks were fab too! Couldn't of asked for a better spot. Thoroughly recommend to anyone in the area.

What a lovely place this is. Warm greetings and a very friendly community. The owner couldn’t do more to make us feel really welcome. Wish we had discovered it earlier in our trip. The heart of the village.

Just like in the Movies On my adventures around Scotland, I found The Airedale pub. It was just like stepping into a movie about Scotland. The décor was traditional (antlers on the walls, barrel tables, and tartan window dressings and bar stools, yet with a touch of modern (cool chandelier over the “snug”). The bartender, Darren, was so friendly and great with kids: played drinking shot games with them (apple juice only) and always managed to lose. The cook, Lena, made delicious food like fish and chips, burgers, nachos, steak and ale pie, chicken filets, prawn cocktail, Indian food, and more. But the soul of the place was definitely Michelle (owner/bartender/cook). You won’t find a more infectious smile or a warmer welcome. Michelle and Darren were so nice to the kids, offering them a box of toys to play with. Dogs were welcomed, too, with bowls of water and treats. Michelle challenged me to a game of pool with her friends; let me feel like a local! So nice. Yes, there was a beautiful pool table, darts, and even a juke box! And if you are lucky, there will be karaoke, a quiz night, or live music. And, if you are traveling alone, eat at the bar; Michelle or Darren will keep you company. If Michelle’s helping out in the kitchen, ask to say hi. She’ll love to pop her head out and give a smiling, “Hiya.” The pub is close to Tarland, Aboyne, and Balater, so if you are on your way from Braemar to Aberdeen, stop in and sit around with the locals. Fun, tasty food, and a warm welcome await you at The Airedale pub!!

Me and my family booked for dinner, when we arrived the very friendly owner showed us all to our table and was very attentive throughout the rest of our stay. Extremely polite and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us, a welcome so warm it’s like you have stepped foot in to someone’s home. The food was absolutely amazing, the pizza me and my husband shared was delicious and the children enjoyed their hotdog and burgers finished by yummy ice cream! The prices were very reasonable for the area (Royal Deeside) just wish we had found this place at the beginning of our stay near by. Lovely atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Cheerful owner and amazing food at great prices! What more could you ask for! Will most certainly be back! A****

Staying in deeside with friends on a reunion holiday & are we glad we popped into the Airedale! We were given a warm welcome & given the large table by the fire, amazed at the choice of gins! The food was incredible a credit to the chef who is kept busy! The world famous airedale fries were spectacular! Although i'm not sure i believe Darren the bar man as to why they are world famous no matter how charming & handsome he may be although he does make a fantastic cocktail, keen to make our evening memorable michelle set up the karaoke for us & she is a tough act to follow but she had everybody up singing what a night! We never made the planned walk to loch muick the next day! To summarise great food, great drinks lovely staff awesome atmosphere cannot wait til 2022 to come back

I phones up Choi’s i’nicht. Her exact answer’s like “Hullo ma dearie, fit ye sayin’ i’nicht?” I sais “nae bad tubby” and I placed an order of chicken sweetcorn soup(bylin hait) and some bbq wings and other miscellaneous products. A lovely experience, incident free but sure to live long in the memory.
