I knew not to expect lobster in November but Iâd hoped for langoustines or maybe scallops at a push. Not to worry, haddock tacos sounded great! Love tacos, love haddock, so jumped at them and also ordered a kids fish & chips with a side order of mushy peas. I was the only person in and didnât particularly enjoy having to listen to the young fella in the kitchen ranting about vegans and vegan food for 10 minutes. Iâm clearly not vegan but I wouldnât have enjoyed hearing rants about anything, especially calling people weirdos and generally being unpleasant. Not a great atmosphere to be waiting in. It was a mixed bag to be honest. The mushy peas were not, they were more of a pea & mint purĂ©e, not pleasant. The tacos were surprisingly bland. Of course I wasnât expecting great Mexican food in a tiny village in the Highlands but I did expect some flavour. Even the fish was unseasoned. Luckily I was taking home and had guacamole and chipotle sauce to hand. The fish was plentiful and perfectly cooked though. And the batter (despite the lack of seasoning) was probably the best Iâve ever had. Light, crispy and golden. The fish and chips were faultless. Not chips as youâd maybe expect from a chippy, more like fries but they were really good and well seasoned. Iâd probably have made this a 3.5 but Iâm happy to give 4. The young woman serving was really pleasant and helpful and countered the rants from the kitchen (she handled him well too, better than I would have). Iâd definitely return and recommend but wouldnât recommend the tacos.

Mark and Lucy run a great restaurant AND hotel. Very gracious and great food. Breakfasts with the room and yummy. We also enjoyed meeting their two yellow labs.

A magically quirky dining experience that redefines what a 5 star meal can look like đ€©. If youâre happy to do things a little differently and go with the flow, youâll love the oystercatcher! The service was super friendly and the food exceptional. The garlic butter lobster and duck fat chips are not to be missed - probably the nicest lobster weâve ever had - and bought direct from the local lobster boats! Space here is limited with one group seated per hour, which means that the service is really personal. There were so many amazing little tasters and extras served throughout the meal which meant that we left feeling absolutely stuffed (in a good way!) . The heather (grown in the back garden) and honey tea and homemade shortbread was a lovely way to end the meal. Something that we wouldnât have ordered if choosing it ourselves from the menu but we really enjoyed it! The place is packed with quirky curios - from the oyster shell garlands around the walls to the port pourer. And the wine menu alone is something to behold! 100s of wines to suit any price range. We had an amazing GewĂŒrtztraminer. The owners are in their retirement and looking to sell so weâd definitely recommend a visit before you no longer can đą

My first visit was so good, I have already been back a 2nd time. Great to see an imaginative and varied menu and not the usual identikit Skye tourist offering. Everything I ate was excellent, and I felt it was made with love and care, with good food being the priority and not profit. Their prices were very reasonable considering the quality. I will be back. Itâs small, so you must book.

All round excellent meal - one of the best we had in 2 weeks in Scotland. Itâs a lovely location along the loch and well worth the drive to get to. The food is totally delicious. We had razor clams, a fish pĂątĂ© special, grilled langoustine, and a coley dish. All exceptionally good and the seafood is so fresh. Homemade ice cream in the desserts also excellent. Service was great.
