Great hidden gem. It is worth searching out! The seafood is super fresh and expertly prepared. We had a lovely lunch on the terrace overlooking the loch. Just go!

Not my first visit to this incredible place, but a first for my lunch partner. I had the fabulous Cullen skink and he had Langoustines both were delicious!! Not my first and certainly not my last. Superb food as always and very reasonable with the best view over the loch. We look forward to the next visit, a truly wonderful place.

First time visiting Scotland. I'm from Cascais, Portugal however we live in north London. Visiting Scotland for the week. Tired of the same old British pub food this find was heaven! Just off Fort William, exquisite views to lake and mountains. Fantastic seafood, crab, mussels, fish pie with attentive, fast service. Very helpful and good value when compared to other restaurants in the region. Wine list well above average with good pairing for seafood and good standard. Something to repeat next time for sure! Enjoy!

Very good seafood restaurant - quite reasonable price and delicious dishes. However wondering staff services on peak timing may be not good. I visited early lunch but serving takes a little long (but food was nice!).

The cafe was closed when we got there so we bought some take away food from the shop attached to the restaurant. In was very nice and we were given heating instructions 😀

Whatever stars (I`m unable to give it zero stars) I would give this place for the food would automatically be cancelled out by the cold, unwelcoming atmosphere of the place, from the moment we entered to the minute we left. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive. What made the experience even worse was the subtle but unmistakable racist undertones in the service. It was clear that we were being treated differently based on our appearance. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you value respectful and fair treatment.

I’ve been coming here for years and unfortunately I can say the quality and style they serve their food has gone down hill. I went yesterday and the service and menu has definitely changed and not for the better. For me this place is now overpriced and not good quality seafood, food standard is basic and you can find good sea food all over Glenco. Also service was bad , we had to tel the waitress to take the plates that we had finished with even when she was bringing the mains or more food plates and when the table was due for a clean we had to ask 3 times because she couldn’t wipe it clean the first time and I’m not being fussy it was very visible bit bits of fish. Very slap dash I felt and I won’t be going here again.

We were looking for dinner after our hike. They were able to accommodate us, a party of two, moments after checking in with host or chef. Vibe is excellent here. There seems to be a family-style in one room and a romantic-evening in another for dinner, base on table and party sizes. Family side is more dimmed and filled with conversations /laughs. Romantic side is brighter with whispers in the air. Service is a tad bit slow but not non-existent. Our waiter visits us when they can spare time. Food is great for our evening. The razor clam and scallop is worth a mention. Both are without sand, and cooked to a buttery and fluffy texture. Clams can use a bit more whites for my liking, but I'm not the chef tonight. My wife and I enjoyed this pleasant evening on our anniversary trip, thanks for having us!

Highly demanding restaurant so advance reservation is recommended - I booked through website, quite easy. Food - excellent! Staff - very friendly! Price - reasonable(affordable), sandwiches available on lunch time.

We have dined here once before when passing through which was fabulous however we just picked up some fish to take away this time (and some souvenirs) delicious haddock and oysters which made a yummy feast. The lady was helpful and packed our items so they would keep until we arrived at our next destination. I am sure we will be back

It is the best restaurant encountered during a trip to the north of Scotland, beautiful location on the lake shore, exquisite dishes based on fresh fish (which is not always common in these parts), do not miss the fabulous scallops presented in various ways and the various shellfish, courteous and efficient service, the bill more than correct taking into account the excellent quality of the raw materials. Well done!

No smiles to be had here. Food was mediocre. Cullink Skink was watery and essentially a bowl of water with potatoes and a lot of onions. No sign of any fish. Platter was substantial in shells and price. Mussels weren't fresh, crab died without any meat. Lobster and Scallops were delicious. That's all I can say about it. Desert was unspeakable and would've been over-priced if it'd been free. Overall. Over-crowded, over-priced and underwhelming.

Excellent seafood beautifully prepared and served in a glorious, peaceful lochside setting. But it is rightly popular and very busy... booking strongly advised. As is going - don't miss it.

Excellent seafood on shores of loch levan

Maybe they got a new cook so the food is of "different" quality to what I remember from previous visits. Fish soup: bland taste, few mussels, one tiny prawn. Coley "special"- the only OK thing on the plate was fish but seasoning and the rest just bland. A can of drink- three times the market price. It seems they drastically reduced quality and increased the prices. BTW, "Seafood Cafe" without good quality fish and chips on the menu???? Come on!

Friendly welcoming atmosphere that has one of the most wonderful views. We had the salmon sandwich and oysters and both were fresh and delicious! Would definitely return

Very tasty and fresh seafood 🦞 Very nice service, unfortunately no dogs are allowed inside. But there are a few picnic tables right by the water where you can sit with food and your dog. When the weather is nice, this is an even nicer place.

What a fantastic find. Travelling back south from the Highlands, we saw a brown sign and followed the loch side. Beautiful sea food and great service. I'd go back any time.

A lovely place for a special occasion meal

Very good seafood and fish cuisine. Very high quality products. **** And not five because the fish accompaniment is a little light in quantity. And almost no meat.... Which is a shame if you're neither fish nor shellfish, Lovely service though. And breathtaking views of the Loch

It is great to find such a great seafood place. I had the seafood platter, magical. It included lobster, crab, oysters, razor class, muscles and langustines. Highly recommended

we had a great lunch here on a rainy Sunday - view was still spectacular although this would 100% be a destination for us again when sunny/patio weather. Food was super fresh, and tasty! Service was ‘ok’ - all food out at same time, hot meals w oysters etc. lacking a little from that aspect

Plateau Royal non rende a sufficienza l'idea, ma le foto già esistenti quasi... la realtà è perfino più grande e, soprattutto, è tanto buona! Locale semplice con servizio sbrigativo a dire poco, ma con crostacei e coquillage da sogno e un conto complessivamente onesto... non piccolo, date quantità e qualità, ma assolutamente accettabile. Nessun fronzolo, una bella birra che con il crudo va benissimo e via! Una cena da ricordare: Granchio, Astice, Langustine, Capesante, Vongole e Cozze. A margine, anche la location è assolutamente piacevole.

Lochleven Seafood Café is a real gem for lovers of fresh fish. The restaurant offers an enchanting and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying dishes prepared with excellent quality ingredients. The fish is very fresh, and each course reflects the care and attention dedicated to the cuisine. The quality-price ratio is truly unbeatable. Furthermore, the staff is extremely kind and helpful. Even though it was very busy and we called last minute, they managed to find us a table, even though they were a little messed up. The service is informal and very easy, but still pleasant and comfortable, helping to make the experience even more relaxing. This stop is absolutely mandatory for anyone in the area. Absolutely must try!

Very fresh and delicious seafood! Favourite this time was the scallops, oysters and mussels. Unfortunately the whole lobster was not worth the £50 price tag. Only other area needing improvement is the billing service, a few tables including us waited a long time for the bill to arrive.

Make no bones about it, this is a lovely restaurant. We had no booking but they found us a table with an hour turnaround and the food itself was delicious. I've scored shy of 5, if only because I think the serving portion was a little light for the money. When you're serving a risotto with a premium product like fish, you're making a profit on the fish so why skimp items that would fill me a little more? A little bit more risotto or some extra veg would have made the serving perfect. Shouldn't have to pay extra for sides to plump up the meal you've already ordered. On the flip side, partner had Langoustines and there was a heap of them but not much side. Some refined chips etc would have finished the meal off nicely.

Strange experience. Came at 4pm as a stop after a long drive and told to wait by the side for a table. We waited for 10 minutes only for the waitress to say that the kitchen is closed from 4-5pm?? It is not written anywhere and if it's really closed why don't you just say it instead of making us wait? Terrible service and will not recommend.

Very nice seafood. Nice staff too (especially the two young girls, both were very nice), great view too Really recommend if you are nearby, it is well worth the money too! Will surely come again next time we are nearby, thank you!

We were so happy that Lochleven Seafood Cafe was open during our time in Glencoe. I had read all the great reviews of this place and it certainly lived up to the hype. We visited on a Monday night, having made reservations several months ahead. The two of us decided to order the Seafood Tower, a HUGE mound of various shellfish enough for the both of us. It came with langoustines, crab, lobster, clams, mussels, and razor clams. And maybe some others I can't remember at the moment. It took us awhile but we finished off the whole dish! So delicious. For dessert we split a Sticky Toffee Pudding, the first we'd had in Scotland. It was super yummy with a hint of gingerbread taste in the cake part. After trying others later in our trip, we've decided this one was the best! Service was a bit on the inattentive side: we had to ask for water refills and extra napkins a few times. The place was full - maybe 15 tables - but servers didn't seem to make the rounds very often, at least not to our table. Still, I wouldn't let that keep you from booking a table for some awesome seafood when you're in the Glencoe area!

Absolutely first-class experience. They cater for Coliacs so bonus. Every dish is beautifully prepared and presented. Staff are lovely, polite, and attentive. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back.

Probably the best seafood in Scotland. Loch Creran oyster is delicious and fresh with sweet aftertaste. The view of the restaurant is stunning. Table could be a bit small compared with the dish portion.

I had a birthday meal here, what an experience. Food and staff first rate, couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Before and after photos of the shellfish on ice!

Poor service. Sat 15 minutes and no-one took any orders. Told to sit in worse seats and told how busy they are. Made to feel unwelcome from the first moment stepping through the door. No idea about the taste of the food or drinks as we couldn’t get any. We had planned to have dinner there with wine and to spend money in the shop, but instead left, having spent nothing. Ruined the end of an otherwise lovely day.

The freshness of the seafood is undeniable but some dishes would've benefitted from better seasoning/different cooking style. Their special at the time was a wild halibut fillet with a veggie risotto and it was absolutely delicious.

We had the Cullen Skink (seafood soup), oysters, Mussels and pasta. Mostly pretty good but we especially like the freshness of the oysters. Pasta was a little too light in taste.

Despite all the good reviews, you should probably lower your expectations if you come here. Especially if you’re a sea food lover. Staff and service was pretty good, but the food just didn’t have any flavor even though it was freshly caught near the restaurant. We had to add salt and pepper to everything, which is also the only taste we ended up getting from our dishes. The langoustine was very dry, when we mentioned it the waitress told us it was double cooked, which explains why…

We had the Picnic Box as we had our dog with us . Having said that we did not miss out on much , the food was so fresh. Longuistines, Smoked Salmon , Fish Pate , dips Balsamic dressing for the salad and Olives. Lovely fresh bread . 2 amazing Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream never tasted anything like it.

Stopped off for a light lunch, didn't account for the generous portions of wonderfully fresh, perfectly cooked, delicious seafood, what an amazing place! It was a lovely day and we sat on the terrace, our young waitress really looked after us and was very attentive. The best. And indeed the biggest bowl of mussels I have ever had, my wife's langoustines were huge and so tasty, really nice coffee too! Great value for seafood of this class, we will return!

One of the best seafood cafes you can visit when in this part of Scotland. The cafe is in a beautiful location and the quality of the produce is excellent. There is a shop on site where you can secure a range of seafood including shellfish and the restaurant / cafe area has a superb menu. There is also an outdoor set of tables so in good weather it's a fine place to eat great seafood with a stunning view. Highly recommend a visit.

Awesome seafood in a stunning location. The quality of the seafood is excellent although I do often smile when I see the size of the smaller European lobster compared to the US equivalents as American tourists might be forgiven for thinking they've been served a tiger prawn, however that's not a criticism of the Lochleven Seafood Cafe who cook their seafood to perfection. The lobster I tried was served with garlic butter and was perfectly cooked and I had a side of small roast potatoes which were slightly salted and tasted great. The shop on site is also full of seafood delights such as crab claws and more. For seafood fans this place is an essential visit. Recommended.

My family and I had a lovely meal here. Freshly cooked to order and well presented. Not a massive amount on the menu but there was a specials board that had more choices. Really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend a visit if you’re in this area

Great food, we found it a bit too pricy (we paid 100+ pounds for a soup, lobster and 2 glasses of wine), but Scotland is quite expensive everywhere you go.

Stopped off for for a mid morning hot drink and a scone. Cheese scone was superb, the cheese was well blended in, there were fresh herbs in there too, perhaps thyme.. The walnut and treacle scone was served with jam and and a quenelle of thick clotted cream. Good hot chocolate and cappuccino was made with a good quality coffee; Mathew Algie. The restaurant looked fantastic. Everywhere was very clean and well presented.

We went to the seafood shop, there was delicious fresh fish 🐟 Cafe also looks nice, it's right next to it, but we didn't visit. Oysters, crab meat and fish fillet were very good. 👍 It's nice that there are seafood shops like this. 😃 We can only recommend taking a detour here.

Very good seafood restaurant, big portions and reasonable prices. The service was a bit slow although the restaurant was still not full. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant is quite popular. We called in the last minute but they were kind enough to find a way to accommodate us

Absolutely delicious!! We stumbled upon this beautiful place, we were looking a little dishevelled due to walking at Steall Falls, but were very professionally welcomed!! We chose the Hot Roasted Shellfish Platter with Aioli!! Wow, delicious!!!! The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great. Thank you

Dear followers, this was a beautiful location after a long day of travel for a decent meal. As a weary windswept gaggle of travellers in need of some sustenance and a place to rest, it was very accessible and had a good sticky toffee pudding (5/5). As a person who had never eaten langoustines, I built myself a little sandwich. Delicious. Happy shellfishing!

Wonderful location just above the Loch - prebook a window table if you can. Excellent shellfish (though the menu is broader than that), competent service. The food is served quite simply (which suited us well) and the restaurant shares premises with their own fishing boat business, so the products could not be much fresher. There is also a deli, useful if you want to dine at home some evenings.

Quite simply the best seafood platter I've ever eaten and for 1, there was so much!!! And for the price I was blown away!!! My party chose other fish dishes which looked amazing also. Highly recommend!!! Staff were very friendly and the little store next to the restaurant was really qaint with gift ideas.

Arrived at 1605, looking forward to a feast of seafood. Knew that this would be a treat, albeit pricey but prepared for a 3 figure bill. Astounded to be told that the kitchen was taking a break till 1700 and could only get coffee or scones??? People were sitting eating various seafood delights. What's the deal here? My wife and I were presentably dressed and clean. Why didn't these people want our custom? The website doesn't advertise an hours break between 1600 and 1700. Bemused

This hidden shop is famous for its shellfish. The mussels are very fresh and sweet, and the crayfish is very delicious. You will never forget to try them. The seafood soup is rich in seafood, and the food does not have much seasoning. It is mainly about tasting the fresh seafood itself. In addition, the price is affordable, even if you have a big meal, you don’t have to spend a lot, which is great value for money!

We visited for lunch and ordered Oysters, the Shellfish Soup and Cullen Skink followed by Spaghetti alla vongole (with local clams) and herb crusted Coley. The service was excellent and all the food tasted fantastic. The Cullen Skink only had a few pieces of smoked fish so not sure if I was unlucky or that is the normal portion.

Beautiful views and great food!

Food was good, but due to the atmosphere the owner gave, tutting on and off for half an hour and clearly not wanting us there. As well as the waiting staff completely forgetting about us after serving our food, we will never come again. If you can't give good service wouldn't bother with having a restaurant

Lovely fresh fish, perfectly cooked risotto. The noise seems to reverberate around this busy and popular restaurant which is in a lovely position looking over the loch. Would definitely return to enjoy the food.

Excellent seafood and service..

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would. We were lucky to snag a table as soon as they opened and thoroughly enjoyed their hot seafood platter with lobster, scallops, langoustines, mussels, clams, and crab. If you have the space, their sticky toffee pudding was the best I had on our entire trip.

Thursday Lunch - Fantastic meal, the best in ages. Great company, friendly atmosphere and excellent food. The staff remained attentive at all times even with the place being full, checking to see if there is anything else we need / would like before us needing to attract their attention. This so often does not happen when a place is as busy. Very large crab and the best sticky toffee pudding ever (recommended by Holly). Thanks Kirsty and everyone else on the team.

Food was pretty good but overpriced. We called in to see if there was any space for us and they said yes. We went in and they seated us in the cafe area with whom I presume is the owner. She did not seem happy that we were there. When we sat down at our table, we immediately felt uncomfortable and unwanted there. The owner, for the next 30 minutes started tutting on and off and gave us dirty looks. The waiting staff didn't bother checking on our table after giving us our food. So after we finished, we just went to the front and asked for our bill. The owner didn't bother with a goodbye and completely ignored us at that point unlike her attitude with other customers. Overall extremely disappointed with the customer service. The food is not worth coming to this place. If you won't bother giving your best customer service to ALL customers then don't bother owning a restaurant.

A stunning view and the most amazingly fresh seafood cooked to perfection with pure simplicity of flavours. Just divine. We want to stay longer in this region just to taste more dishes from the menu. Best meal we've had so far 3 weeks into our UK trip. Do yourself a favour!

Great place,nicest seafood I have eaten, Manager was so helpful let us moor our boat against the fishing boats,no problem booking last minute, either. Was a great plate of scallops, and the sticky toffee pudding was to doe for. 10/10!

Everything is good, but way too overpriced. Small size spaghetti with clams for £15.50...

The location is excellent, overlooking the lake. The seafood is fantastic, as are the friendly and helpful staff. It's not cheap, but it's not a bad idea to spend that money on a meal like this.

On the positive side, and that's no small thing, the products served were excellent and the cooking was perfectly mastered. On the other hand, in a country where we were warmly welcomed almost everywhere, the welcome was the worst we have received, with the exception of that of a young girl. The prize goes to a sullen head waiter, who twice managed the feat of serving us while turning her head away from our table. The room was as cold as the reception and above all, very noisy. The whole thing largely ruined our experience, too bad...
