Had lamb shank very well cook, perfect seasoning, and my friend had mussels and langoustines, again amazing. More than enough to eat. Chef and waitress very friendly, at the higher end of prices, but worth it.

Amazing service and delicious food in this friendly restaurant overlooking the Loch. I would definitely recommend going here if you are in the area. We couldn't decide on our wine choice, the lady serving, and I believe is also the restaurant owner kindly let us sample a selection before choosing. I have never experienced such a service ever, thank you.

Dined here last week for my husbands 50th whilst travelling the NC500. Scallop starter was a big hit and the Cullen skink was amazing. Only disappointment was the steak; it didn't have much flavour sadly and it was expensive for not much taste. Was glad we had the sauces (whisky and the cheese both lovely). Chips were lovely though. Really friendly owner and really helpful in getting us tucked away in a dog friendly corner. I'd imagine she would need more help in busy months as she never stopped and guests were waiting long periods to order. Glad we chose here for our special occasion (was staying in strathcarron) but would try the fish next time. Definitely book as walk ins we're being turned away or had to sit outside.

Very unpleasant experience. The staff was rude and did not serve people in the order they came in. Some people, including us, were dismissed by the staff for long periods and tables that came after us got their orders first. Service altogether was very slow. Food was only mediocre. Appetizers were tasty, but the main courses had room for improvement. For example, the chicked fillet was dry as sand, and the garlic bread had dill in it for some odd reason. Very expensive also. Price not in par with the quality of food or service. Would not recommend.

Very clean place, beautiful view on the loch and excellent food. The waitresses were very friendly as well. The fish was very fresh and well cooked. Totally recommend the place. Prices are totally fair.

I visited last week with ten friends. We booked a week in advance, and I expect booking is necessary even for a small group during the summer high season as it's a very small place. I had scallops followed by lamb shank which were phenomenal. Everyone else in the group was complimentary about the food too. Not the cheapest restaurant, but worth every penny.

So glad to have found this little gem other place while on the road to fill up for a dinner and much needed stop before driving through the dramatic most scenic route upThe Bealach na Ba mountain pass. Had some lovely scallops for starters and lamb shank for me both excellent delicious taste and very well cooked. Also the waitress was very polite and professional.

Best hot chocolate I’ve ever had

Excellent food, lovely people, dangerously good wine. Weather was a bit West Coast & they even had a fan drying everyone's coats on the stand, can't really say fairer than that.

Dimmed room, poor interior, tasteless food. But it’s expensive, as if it were a restaurant in the capital. A service charge of 10% is included, this is written in small letters on the receipt. The room is dark and you can’t see anything, but the owner takes the tip with a smile. We ended up paying 25% tip! Avoid this place or bring a flashlight and glasses! The greed of the owners is incredible! I would give a zero, but there is no such rating, so one!

Superb discovery, completely by chance. The dishes are delicious and the atmosphere cozy, a perfect experience!

I would like to start by saying, that the only thing better then the food in this restaurant are the owners! Before coming into the restaurant I met The Chef on a walk with his dog around the village and he invited me to come and eat in their restaurant later in the day. And so I did! I ordered a good old classic - fish and chips and I have to say... best one I had in a loooong time. Definitely recommend stopping here during anyone's trup thorough Scotland! I will 100% be back.

Nice restaurant with tasty food and good service.

We had booked the Bistro in advance as it can be very busy. It was a Sunday evening and there were a couple of tables still available. My husband and I both chose the Sunday roast, which was slow cooked beef. wow it was probably the most tender and flavoursome beef I have tasted in many years. For pudding we shared the cheeseboard, again delicious. It is a cosy restaurant, with just one chef and waitress, and there is also a small gift shop selling local products e.g. candles, diffusers etc. it isn’t cheap but the quality of the food was worth the extra money. I wish the place was near to where I live.

We are regular visitors and bring friends and family all the time , each dish is well proportioned -the quality and standard of the food exceeds expectations this is top quality dining. Local produce good selection of wine and cocktails and a good ambience. There is something for everyone on the menu and they will adjust if needed ! Best scallops ever!

Had a lovely evening meal at Bistro . It gets busy so best to book. The food is prepared beautifully by the chef so don't expect fast food service be prepared to wait while it is cooked properly. We both had the venison which we really enjoyed . Lovely end to a great holiday in Loch Carron .

I went to this restaurant based on our host's recommendation with my two best friends. It was by far the best food experience we had during our week in Scotland. The food was delicious and tasteful.

Excellent restaurant by the sea, here you can eat an excellent broccoli soup, excellent venison, the panko is a must try. Ah, don't forget the tiramisu. Excellent service, very nice place. Highly recommended

During our travels, we didn't really hit any restaurants that wowed us, until this place. You get about as many options as you'd expect from a bistro, but wow, are they amazing. Highly recommend it if you make it up to that area.

We weee lucky enough to stay in Lochcarron whilst touring the west coast and found an apartment above this fantastic restaurant. We liked it so much, we booked to come the next night too. Amazing locally sourced produce. The Cullen Skink was the best I have ever had - the star of the show - rich and tasty and deliciously creamy, the lamb shank was perfectly cooked and served with seasonal vegetables. My husband had the venison which melted in your mouth. We both had chicken stuffed with haggis on the second night which was filling and satisfying for a wet and rainy night. I had cranachan for dessert with was perfect - just the right amount of whisky and local raspberries. Great wine list too. Some reviews have said they found service was slow - we didn’t find it either evening. Cant recommend this place highly enough - we loved it. Well done guys!

Delicious venison and sticky toffee pudding. I think we were extremely lucky to get a table as it is quite small. Would really recommend booking in advance if possible.

Expensive for what it is, wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the 10% added to the bill without any notification, and this would be less of an issue if it was a gratuity for serving staff on low wages but it is a husband and wife team.

Food is definitely excellent, no comment on that, worth the best. Only issue for one star is the length of the wait between order and service, in our case, one hour. So you'll have very good food provided you are patient.

Brood vooraf waren 4 halve sneetjes met voorverpakte boter a 6 pond. Het hoofdgerecht was heerlijk en de bediening vriendelijk. Maar 10% fooi verplicht bij de rekening op valt bij ons niet lekker. Wij waren 87 pond kwijt voor 1x brood, 2 biertjes en 2 hoofdgerechten, waarvan 1 vegetarisch. Prijzen van een restaurant waar ik geen frisdrank in blikjes, grenen tafels en papieren servetten verwacht. We voelen ons bekocht.

Beautiful location on the edge of Lochcarron. Delicious, high quality local food. The venison in particular was a treat!

On way back from Applecross we stopped at this lovely restaurant The Bistro, Lochcarron . Hadn't booked but that was not a problem. We both chose the Sunday Special - Roast beef and roast pork(on the same plate) with roast and boiled potatoes, red cabbage, broccoli, carrots, Yorkshire pudding and apple sauce on the pork and red wine gravy on the beef. The meat was very tender melt in your mouth and the Yorkshire pudding cooked to perfection and all very tasty. In fact it's one of the best meals out I have ever had - compliments to the chef. The restaurant itself had lovely decor and ambient atmosphere and the staff were very pleasant. The view from the window was superb with the evening sun on the hills and loch making the whole experience very pleasurable. Thank you for a pleasent evening. Definitely recommend it!

Best chips I’ve ever eaten. Fish was very good, presentation is a very high standard. The wait time for drinks and to have our orders taken was a little bit too long. There was only two other couples in at the time we dined. The restaurant is very expensive, including the service charge and drinks. The food was great but the experience overall wasn’t worth cost.

We had a wonderful meal at The Bistro Lochcarron on one of the warmest and stillest of Scottish evenings.We sat outside looking at the Loch and had great service from Jagoda. Our food was delicious and well presented - lamb shanks with herby risotto and a lovely moules - frites with the added bonus of juicy local langoustines and tasty rustic hand cut fries.
