Delicious sea food! A real treat as part of our NC500 trip. I had the soup - Sooooo delicious, huge portion Also the sweet cured herring. Fab potato salad and again good portion My sons had the fishcake and the scallops Also delicious! Go there!

Amazing food, it's a simple as that. If you like seafood, this is paradise. If you don't, it will change your mind forever.

Been coming here for years and alwasy been great quality food but lately I had oysters and ended up with severe food poisoning. That’s the risk from eating raw oysters tho. Only takes the one time to accidentally pick up a bad one and serve it to a customer. Will be back just will be avoiding the oysters from now on

Went here on a recommendation, and well worth it. Lovely little set up around what is basically a good van. Choices were based on what they've got from the local fisherman. We chose the crab claws, smoked trout and battered haddock wrap. All 3 were excellent - not just the sea food but the high quality of the accompanying salads which were well made, fresh and flavourful. It also has a pop up Gin & Tonic bar on the edge of the seated area. Bonus! Top recommendation

Easily the best seafood I've eaten in a long while. If not all, the scallops were THE best scallops I've ever tried. Portions are generous and the quality is unparalleled. Worth the price. The warm gin cocktail complemented the food perfectly.

The seafood taster was absolutely perfect. Everything from here is absolutely delicious and I'd go every day if I could. The service is pretty quick and the staff are lovely.

I had one of the best meals of my life here, waiting for the ferry! Delicious scallops, rice and salad.

Good god this place is a wonderful find!! Fresh fish and seafood cooked to order - what more could anyone want? A hot gin?? Yep, they have those too! My friend had the tempura haddock wrap and I had the hand-dived scallops, chorizo, rice and salad. Both were incredible. You can taste how fresh they are. Another lady had the crab and said ‘I could eat that all again’. There is also a gin shack which was serving gin with hot apple and it was delicious. Perfect for a cold, rainy day in Ullapool.

Locally sourced seafood, pretty spot and yummy fish tacos. Everything was amazing so glad we stopped here for lunch on our road trip.

Visited here last weekend. Really great place, good atmosphere. Food was really nice, lovely langoustines. We also had a haddock wrap which was nice and Cullen skink soup, also nice

The taster dish was superb - langoustines, herring, oyster, smoked trout, a bit of nearly everything. Don't forget to pick up a napkin - it can get messy and wooden knives are laudable, they don't cut very well. My wife had the haddock wrap which was substantial and nearly too much.

This was a must visit place on my tour of the Nc500. Did not disappoint

Fantastic “takeaway” in the middle of Ullapool, with the freshest fish you can imagine in this seaside town. The kitchen conjures up incredibly tasty, creative dishes from the fishermen's catches (catch of the day). Real taste explosions! As already mentioned, it is a snack bar and therefore self-service. But this is easily compensated for by the quality of the food and the nice surroundings.

The freshest fish you’ll eat in a tortilla wrap, generously portioned. We completed the NC500 with a delicious finish at the Seafood Shack.

We had a beautiful meal at the Seafood Shack Ullapool……the venue serves what the local fishermen catch daily and only till sold out so best get there early 😋. The Seafood Shack is very popular with both locals and visitors with no bookings only walk up so sometimes you may have to wait for a seat. People were very friendly and offered to share their tables on a very busy afternoon. We enjoyed some beautiful fresh local seafood tasting bowls, haddock wraps, langoustines etc & everything was delicious & no wonder the Shack is so popular 💕. Would highly recommend if visiting Ullapool and would definitely go again 😋 Also there is a separate venue serving local gin cocktails, beer, cider, soft drinks etc which was lovely & worth a try 😊

Number 1 seafood place in Scotland, no doubts and the main reason to stop in Ullapool. Don't ask questions, just go there, you won't regret.

Love going to this place, food is always excellent but only two stars this time because I picked the mackerel and had difficulty finding it amongst the potatoes and salad. Two tiny tail ends of fillet, should have gone for the langoustines. Oh well there's always the next time!

The perfect lunchtime stop I had the seafood platter and it was lovely but be prepared to be messy,my wife had the rap and it was absolutely fantastic I sort of wished I had that. Definitely worth going

Delicious food! Can’t recommend it enough!

This is possibly the best place for lunch in Ullapool while waiting for the ferry. It is outdoor seating so be ready for that. On the property is a stand where you can purchase drinks made with locally produced gin. Everything is fresh and the helpings are huge. My wife and I definitely should have ordered one haddock wrap and it would have been more than sufficient. It is a popular place so you might have to wait a bit but if you’re just enjoying the afternoon, it’s worth it.

This is one of the very best places we’ve eaten at on the NC500 - really delicious and fresh seafood with a great little menu. Also a tiny little pop up bar selling gins to enjoy. We would definitely recommend!!

Food look gorgeous but only had a drink

Superb seafood, street food style. All freshly cooked by fast and friendly service. You can’t book ahead - just turn up and take your chances.

This was the best Fish & Chips we could find in Scotland. The atmosphere is the one of a lounge bar. You can find a dry place under the tent but a sunny day is a better fit. Anyway it is for take away so you can also enjoy it while having a walk at the harbor.

Don't be afraid of the queue that there may be, the service is really fast and the wait is not long! It was really very good and very fresh. The menu changes depending on the catch of the day I think and they adapt their recipe to allergies when ordering. There are half a dozen tables for 8 small people (4 people tend to sit there). Don't hesitate to share your table to meet other happy travelers. We had the breaded haddock wrap, a revisited fish and chips, excellent, and smoked trout, a little dry but still very good.

Absolutely exceptional place where you can enjoy excellent dishes of the catch of the day, in an environment without too many pretensions. In fact the tables are outdoors but the nice thing is that you sit together with local people, having great chats while enjoying fabulous dishes. My wife had dinner (if dinner at 5pm can be called such) with a dish based on raw scampi, oysters, molluscs, marinated herring, while I enjoyed an excellent Cullen Skink. I highly recommend. ps) it closes at 7.30pm so don't wait until the last minute to get in line.

We had the wraps - a lot of fish for the money and very tasty. However, plan on waiting and we also had limited seats.

We came across them by chance, nice garden. The biggest wrap (£13) I've ever seen, we ate two of it. I definitely recommend visiting.

It may have been raining but the vibes and food at Seafood Shack were warm, engaging and. Fresh, tasty tasty tasty! The mellow and skillful live accordion drew us in and the prices and portions were good- Such a relief to experience reasonable value whilst on an incredibly overpriced NC500 route! Fabulous alcoholic AND non alcoholic drinks available from the gin bar/seafood shack. Maybe could've done with a little more seated rain cover but we managed just fine.

The dishes are excellent. The eating space is not very large but if you don't go during peak times it's easy to find a table.

They have a small menu and do not offer fish and chips, but they have an AMAZING fish wrap thats outstanding. There is a thick piece of fish with very crunchy, flavorful batter in a soft fully wrap with some salad and zingy sauce. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely excellent food! Highly recommend. Only downside was that their tent didn't cover all the tables/benches and it was raining, so it made it a tiny bit harder to enjoy. But EVEN SO, totally with it and delicious

Excellent food truck with cooked and local seafood products. The menu changes from one day to the next depending on arrivals. We enjoyed the haddock and mackerel.

We order at the bar and they call us when it's ready. Delicious seafood and great atmosphere, with live music or DJ. It's outdoors.

The tempura haddock wrap was very good.

If you are looking for a place with an atmosphere to try local fish and seafood, this is a must-see in Ullapool. I especially recommend Taster of the day to taste a little bit of everything. Next to it there is a booth serving drinks based on local gin.

Great food, great location and great service. Being Australians we've not eaten a Cullen Skink before, nor a Haddock Wrap, but we enjoyed every mouthful of each one, very, very much. Thank you Team, we are two very happy Australian travellers whom have enjoyed, what can only be described as a Ullapool institution, with a somewhat cult following.

Overall the seafood shack is a great place to eat although there is limited table space and you can either sit on the benches provided until a table becomes available. If you have kids that are fussy eaters it is probably not the best place to take them. The food is delicious and well worth a try. I gave it four stars because the staff could be more inviting and engaging, I give credit to the fact they are busy and are working really hard but it does feel like you are just being processed. There is good background music to help with the atmosphere of the place and covered area provides a nice environment.

Food truck ok but nothing more. In the photos we see lobster and langoustines. Well there weren't any the day we went by. We were disappointed.

Absolutely perfect restaurant, my family and I went there last night When we arrived we saw the wide choice of local and original menus. The atmosphere was great with good Scottish music, the tables were clean, well organized and the service was quick. For my part I tasted the lemon crab toast, the bread was delicious and the crab mousse was creamy and delicious. My mother and my sister had pan-fried langoustines; I was actually able to taste one, it was divine. And my father had a haddock wrap. Only two negative points should be noted: there are no nutcrackers available if you take langoustines. I found a piece of crab shell in my crab mousse. I highly recommend this food truck!

Amazing restaurant, fast service and very pleasant atmosphere. The food is excellent. My family and I LOVED it! I highly recommend this restaurant. The only small flaws are: No nutcracker to taste the food inside the langoustine claws and no bottle of water available!

Absolutely delicious fish dishes. Daily menu adapted to the morning's catch. If all then all. The dishes are correspondingly fresh and delicious. Been in Ullapool for 2 nights, had dinner there 2 afternoons in a row. If I'm in Ullapool again I'll eat there again.

We followed the google maps and expected this place to be good, however Overpriced and overcrowded for no reason! Just a fancy takeaway with massive queue. I have been waiting for 40 minutes

We visited just after midday and the seating and waiting area was already very crowded - a testament to the popularity of this place. We waited quite a while for our order as there appeared to be a mix up - this was quickly rectified by the head member of staff taking orders on the till. Thank you for this small gesture towards customer satisfaction. The hot smoked trout was outstanding!

If you are in Ullapool and love seafood gen this is the place to be. The haddock wraps and a seafood taster was so fresh you could almost taste the seawater. We missed out on scallops as they run out so arrive early to get the best selection. The only drawback is that there’s very limited seating spaces and being a truck food, you are eating outside so be prepared to be exposed to the weather. Luckily for us neither of the two were a problem as we were able to share a seat with another couple. Would definitely recommend and stop again if I return to this area.

Very good food. Delicious and fresh. Many different options. This place got recommended to me by locals, in the town 120miles away. It might get even a more special experience when you will dine in and it will start to rain, as there are no covers over some of the tables. While I was there, place was constantly full😊

We were grateful to be under the cover during the heavy rain. The weather did not dampen our enthusiasm for the wonderful food
